Q hugged her, feeling her cold breath on his skin, her fading warmth across his cheek. His eyes watched tear-filled as the only girl he had ever loved turned into stardust, into beautiful specks of light that floated away into the darkness.
“I will always be watching you, Q,” her voice echoed one final time. “Just look to the stars.”

Q lay on the grassy hill, breathing in the fresh air, humming some random tune that came across his mind. He turned his head to his side and saw Kai and Chris flirting on the deck of the tall wooden cabin they had rented, the two of them leaning over the railing, holding hands and playing with each other’s hair.
Must be nice to be like that, Q smiled.
Chris had become a lot happier after she and Kai had come back from a medical check-up. Just like Levi had said, the Tenebrae EcQuest did actually offset Kai’s radiation poisoning, and now he was completely healed.
Q chuckled to himself. “One deadly disease cures another,” he said. “Looks like two wrongs do make a right.” A lot of things had changed after the end of the war.
The Masked Magician was completely vanquished and the four remaining energy beings returned back to the Palace of Being. Levi and Albion were given a proper burial by the White Knights, but Q hadn’t stayed to see all that. And no one really blamed him either.
The only thing he regretted was that he had left Orpheus without spending any time with Loreas. His grandfather was fine with that though. He kept telling him to go enjoy his youth.
The Dark Knights had recovered almost completely from the Knight war, and Andrea was now focusing entirely on getting the White Knights and Dark Knights to bridge the gap between their differences and become allies.
Q’s fingers felt the sword sheath beside him. He gripped the dark hilt but didn’t pull the weapon out. He felt the vibrations from within it, waiting as they patiently calmed him down.
“It was nice of the Empress to give you Valkyrie,” Zelph said.
“Well, I am technically Dark Knight royalty you know,” he chuckled.
“Dark Knight royalty? Yeah sure. I’m pretty sure no Dark Knight ever had silver hair.”
“Well, I’m a cross-breed.”
“You know, I never thought you’d keep the silver hair.”
“It’s not like I did this on purpose,” Q sighed. “How should I have known my hair color would stay this way permanently?”
“Well, I think you look better with it,” he said. “Silver hair and silver-grey eyes seems pretty cool on you.”
Q smiled. “Yeah,” he said. “I’ve been told.”
“Are you sure you’re okay though?” Zelph asked. “I mean I’m sure everyone would understand if you said you weren’t.”
“You think I’m faking this?”
“Well, it’s just a bit jarring to see that you’re…normal after everything that happened two weeks ago.”
“Well, I guess I can see why people would think that.”
“Oh wait, I have a transmission coming through.”
“Put it through.”
A holographic version of Carlos and Burke appeared before him.
“Hey guys,” Q waved.
“Hello there,” Burke said. “How goes the vacation I was banned from going on?” he sulked.
“Burke,” Carlos raised an eyebrow. “You know why you couldn’t go right?”
“Yeah, yeah,” he rolled his eyes. “I have to repent for opening up Project Z. Even if it saved the lives of billions and billions of people, and helped defeat the worst villain in galactic history.”
“Wait, that’s what you thought?” Carlos squinted. “I just wanted you here at Area 51 so that we could get the blueprints for Aliea ready.”
“Aliea?” Q asked, excited. “You mean Aliea 2.0? The one you’re rebuilding?”
“Yeah,” Carlos’ eyes gleamed. “We actually found a super cool planet to build it on.”
“You mean I found it,” Burke said. “All you did was sit in a corner watching lion king.”
“Well, I’m sorry for taking a break every once in a while.”
“If you wanted a break we should have gone on Vacation!”
A voice called out to Carlos and Burke.
“We have to go,” Carlos sighed. “Have fun on your vacation.”
“I will,” Q smiled and the feed cut off.
“You know, one thing has been bothering me a lot,” Zelph said. “What exactly are you taking a vacation from? Like, you can’t go to Aliea Academy until it's finished being built from scratch. So there’s nothing for you to go back to when you end your vacation.”
“Good question,” Q laughed. “I guess that means I don’t end it until Aliea is built.”
“That’s a clever way of looking at it,” Zelph chuckled. “Anyway, I’m going to go find some coffee machines to hack into. People freak out when those things suddenly make them coffee for no reason.”
Q smiled. “You go have fun.”
“Are you sure don’t need me around?”
“Yeah.”
“Really?”
Q stared at the sky above him, at the night sky filled with an eternal black. A billion stars shone through, brilliant and beautiful, a billion flawless jewels in an ocean of darkness. His fingers connected the glowing dots, tracing the image of a girl for just his eyes to see.
“I’m fine, Zelph,” Q smiled. “I’ve got her right next to me.”
