"Oh god yeah. We need to get some of these at home!" He grinned at me, then yawned slightly and stretched. "God, can you imagine getting laid in one of these? It’d be like having sex on a cloud!"

I laughed, the sound filling the large room. Moments later, Drew's laughter joined mine. This was why we were best friends. We got along like peanut butter and jelly, with the same sense of humor and the same priorities - getting laid. Which just made me even more eager to meet up with Josh. If we were peanut butter and jelly, Josh was our bread. We hadn't seen him as much over the years since he'd gotten the job in Texas, but we still kept in contact frequently.

It would good to get out on the town with him one last time before he tied the knot to Carla.

While Drew used the bathroom and finished waking up, I grabbed my phone and texted Josh, seeing if he was ready to meet up in the bar for a couple drinks before we took him out for the night. He was ready, so I told him we'd be down there in about twenty minutes. I figured that'd be enough time for all of us to get our shit together and get down there.

Because, despite feeling well rested after my nap, I wasn't a hundred percent awake just yet. It was tough not to just crawl back into that bed and return to that heavenly dreamland. I had to remind myself we'd be here for a week and I'd have plenty of time to sleep in the bed, hopefully with a few different women to share it with me.

It only took us ten minutes before Drew and I were in the elevator heading down to the lobby, grins on our faces. Tonight was going to be one hell of a night! If this was going to be one of Josh's last nights before he was tied down to one woman for the rest of his life, then we were going to do our absolute best to make sure he never forgot it!

We got to the bar before him and grabbed ourselves some drinks to wait. Drew and I were laughing and joking about something the three of us had done back in high school when I first spotted her. She was sitting across the bar at a table by herself, a laptop open in front of her and a glass of wine in her hand.

My heart stopped and I just stared. She was a tiny thing, maybe five-two if she stood up straight, with what looked like thick brown hair that had been tied up into a bun at the top of her head. She was completely absorbed in whatever she was doing on her computer, completely ignoring the loud bar around her.

In that moment, I knew I had to have her. She was far from my normal type, since she didn't look like the kind of girl who frequents clubs and bathroom hook-ups. If I had to label her, I'd call her geeky, the kind of girl whose idea of a fun night was reading a book rather than going out with friends.

And yet, I was inexplicably drawn to her.

"Hey, there's Josh!" Drew said, jarring me back to reality. I glanced toward the entrance and saw Josh heading our way, a big grin on his face.

When he got closer, Drew and I both jumped up, taking turns giving him giant hugs. "God, it's been way too long!" I told him as we all sat back down at the table. We'd been meaning to come out and visit him for a while, but none of our schedules had lined up.

And yet, despite us not having seen Josh in a while, we all picked up conversation like we'd never been apart. That was the nice thing about having good friends. No matter how much time passed, we were still friends. We fit together perfectly, there was no question about it.

Which is why it was so weird, sitting here watching Josh and knowing he was about to get married. Sure, Carla was a great woman and all, but she wasn't one of us. Whenever any of us had relationships in the past, the guys had always come first. Now, Carla would be the one coming first, taking our place by Josh's side.

Not that I was upset or anything, but I knew it'd change our relationship forever once he finally tied the knot.

That just made tonight that much more important. We needed this night all together - one last night where it was just the three of us, like it had been for as long as I could remember. Because after tonight, things would be different. I had no doubt we'd all still be friends, even once Drew and I found a woman we wanted to settle down with, if that ever even happened.

Then I thought of the woman across the bar. I looked over at her and she was still staring at her laptop screen, this time sipping at her glass of wine. All of a sudden, I found myself wanting to kiss those ruby red lips of hers, wanting to take her back to my room and spend hours upon hours just kissing her.

Jesus, I thought to myself, what the heck was wrong with me?

It wasn't like this was the first girl I'd been instantly attracted to, but there was something different about this one. I didn't want to just take her back up to the room, bend her over the bed, and fuck her absolutely senseless. I mean, don't get me wrong, I did want to do that, but I wanted so much more as well.

I wanted to take her upstairs and kiss her and hug her and fall asleep on that cloud of a bed with her in my arms. I wanted to sit and cuddle with her while we watched a movie. I mean, shit, just looking at her made my heart pound faster.

I'd never met a woman like that before, one I'd been drawn to so strongly.

The entire time we were in the bar, talking and drinking, I kept looking over at her. No matter how hard I tried to focus on Drew and Josh, I couldn't keep my eyes off her for very long.

When it was finally time to head out and hit the strip clubs, I almost didn't want to leave. I wanted to stay there and watch the mystery girl, maybe even go over and talk to her. But there was no way I was going to blow off this night, not for some girl I hadn't even met yet. Besides, judging by the way she was so engrossed in whatever she was going on her laptop, there was a very real chance she'd still be sitting there when we got back.

That was a chance I'd just have to take, I figured as I followed my best friends out of the bar and to the front of the hotel to get a cab to the club.

The entire ride there, I tried to focus on the bantering, but my heart was only half in it. The other half was still back at the hotel, thinking about the mystery woman. What was her name? What was she doing in the bar? How long would she be here? All these and more went through my head, making me more and more frustrated since I didn't have a single answer for any of them.

I could've spent all night speculating, coming up with plausible answers to each one of the questions, but that just wouldn't be satisfying. Not this time. For a random hook-up, I had actually enjoyed coming up with back stories for them, why they were in the club and who they were in "real life." It'd become sort of a game for me, to see what I could come up with that fit what I knew about each woman.

But this one was different. I wanted to know what he real story was, not make one up. I wanted to know every little detail about her.

I just hoped some more alcohol and some hot strippers would be able to get my mind off her. Thinking about her all night was just going to end up ruining our last guys night. And right now, Josh deserved my complete attention. This whole night was about him, after all, giving him one final send off.

Which is why I did my damnedest to give him my full attention for the rest of the night. The strippers barely even registered to me. Josh, though, certainly seemed to be enjoying himself!

After he'd been watching for a while, Drew and I paid for him to get a lap dance. When it was over and the girl had walked away, he had a broad grin on his face that told us both just how much fun he'd had.

"Damn that girl was worth every penny!" Josh said with a laugh. "You guys should give her a shot!"

"Why, so we can have your sloppy seconds?" I teased.

"It wouldn't be the first time!" Josh grinned and winked.

He wasn't wrong, but I still wasn't in the mood to go for it. For the first time in my life, I wasn't eager to go fuck a random woman whose name I didn't even know. Well, she'd told us her name was Sugar, but I didn't for a second believe that was actually her name. Not unless her parents knew she was going to grow up to be a stripper!

A little while later, Drew bought a dance from a fiery redhead he'd been eying up the entire night. We hooted and hollered, teasing hi
m as he disappeared from sight. Just like Josh, when it was done, he was grinning like a fool. Clearly the women at this joint knew how to please a man!

If I hadn't been so stuck on that mystery woman, there were a half dozen girls here that I'd have fucked in a heartbeat. But while I certainly enjoyed looking at them, I didn't have the urge for more. Instead, I was just counting down the minutes until we'd be back at the hotel and I could take a shot at the mystery girl.

Because no matter how hard I tried, she was the only woman I could think about.

Josh and Drew were completely smashed by the time we ended up back at the hotel. I was more than a little drunk, but at least I wasn't stumbling along like those two were. If I hadn't been there to support them, they'd have most definitely fallen flat on their faces before ever getting into the building.

I'd wanted to take Josh right back up to his room, but apparently Carla was in the bar so that was where he wanted to go. And of course, since Drew was drunk, he thought going to the bar again was a fabulous idea. Honestly though, I didn't fight them too hard, since I was still hoping mystery woman was at her little table in the back.

So I practically carried them to the bar and found us an open table. I scanned the room once they sat down, looking for both Carla and the mystery woman. You can imagine my surprise when I found them seated at the table together, matching glasses of wine in hand, as they looked at something on the woman's laptop screen.

Using one arm to brace Josh, the two of us walked over to the women, leaving Drew to order us some drinks. Knowing him we'd have the strongest shit in the house, but I didn't really care at that point. I was focused on the mystery girl, my heart pounding faster and faster the closer we got to her.

When we were within stumbling distance, Josh practically threw himself at Carla, making her giggle and nearly spill her wine as she caught him. "Jesus, Josh. Did you drink the entire bar?"

Josh muttered some reply, but I didn't quite catch it. Whatever he said must've been funny though, since Carla laughed, shaking her head and grinning. I'd only met her a couple times over the years whenever I'd come out to visit Josh, but she'd always struck me as an easy going and laid back woman. Which was good, otherwise there was no way she'd have put up with Josh's shit.

She turned to look at me and gave me a warm smile. "It's good to see you again, Zack. Thank you for taking care of him and getting him back here safe."

"No problem at all," I said, smiling at her. "Knowing him, he'll be sober in about an hour. He always did get drunk hard and fast, but it never lasted very long. He must have some magic metabolism, since he never even gets hungover after."

"Well that's good. I really don't feel like cleaning up puke this week!" She winked at me. Then, she glanced over at mystery girl. "Have you met Janine yet? She's my maid of honor."

"No, I haven't. It's nice to meet you, Janine. I'm Zack, one of Josh's friends."

Janine glanced up from her computer at me and nodded. There was the barest hint of a smile, then it was gone. "It's nice to meet you," was all she said before turning her attention right back to her laptop.

At that moment, I wanted to just curl up into a ball and die. Okay, maybe that's being a bit dramatic, but it really had stung. I knew not every girl was into me -- I wasn't that conceited -- but I'd never had a girl completely dismiss me like that before. It was a strange feeling, one I wasn't sure I liked very much at all.

I was still processing it when Josh stumbled back over to me so I could help him back to our table.

"Don't keep him out too late!" Carla said with a wink as we turned away.

The short trek back over to our table was like climbing Everest. Leaving the mystery woman, Janine, behind was like leaving a part of myself behind. It didn't matter that I didn't know a damn thing about her other than her name. I was so infatuated with her, I didn't even see any of the other girls in the bar.

I couldn't believe she'd barely even glanced at me. What was she doing on her computer that had her attention like that? It must've been important, I figured, since she seemed to have been glued to it since before we'd left for the strip club. I reasoned it had something to do with the wedding, since she was the maid of honor and sitting with the bride.

Still, by the time I got back to the table, I was determined to get to know her. I wanted to know everything about her, even if I had to bust my ass all week to do it. It was the first time a girl had ever gotten my attention like that, and there was no way in hell I was about to let her slip through my fingers.

I couldn't figure out what it was that had me so attracted to her, but I had no doubt I'd figure it out with enough time.

  One way or another....

  Chapter 5

  Drew

I managed to get to the bar to place our drink orders and back to the table without falling flat on my face. I scanned the room for Zack and Josh and found them over near a table in the back. Josh was in Carla's lap and it looked like they were laughing about something, probably Josh's state of inebriation, if I had to guess.

Then I spotted her. Sitting partially behind a laptop screen was a girl that made my heart stop beating. For a moment, all I could do was sit there and stare at her. She looked up from her laptop and said something to the guys, then went right back to it. In those brief moments, I was in love.

The girl wasn't your stereotypical super model babe, but she was even better in my opinion. Slightly messy hair tied back in a ponytail, with glasses that fit her perfectly. God, she was stunning, I thought as I stared at her from across the room. I'd never seen a girl like her before, one who made my entire body tingle.

I thought for sure Zack was going to wander off with her, but a minute or two later, he helped a stumbling Josh back over to the table. I'd been pretty damn drunk when we'd gotten here, but seeing that girl seemed to have removed all the alcohol from my body. I was wide awake and alert, my eyes locked on her even as my two best friends stumbled back here.

Josh practically fell into his chair, grinning at me. "Hey buddy!" he slurred. I hadn't realized how absolutely shitfaced he was. Had I been that drunk when we'd gotten here? Something about the look on Zack's face told me I had been. Maybe going to the bar after we'd just spent a couple hours getting shitfaced at the strip club hadn't been the best idea. It'd seemed like it at the time.

But if I hadn't come here, I wouldn't have seen the girl across the bar.

After the waitress came over with our drinks, and while Josh was absorbed in some story he was telling us, I leaned over to Zack. "Who's the girl next to Carla?"

Zack visibly stiffened and looked over at her. His face clouded for a moment, then he turned to look at me with what could only be described as a grimace on his face. "That's Janine," he said, turning to look at the woman again. "She's the maid of honor apparently."

I nodded, gazing over at her as well. Josh was oblivious to the fact that neither of us were listening to a word he said. He just kept talking and making hand gestures like he had a captive audience.

"She's pretty cute," I said, tentatively. "Is she single?"

Please say yes. Please say yes.

Zack sighed sadly. "She's gorgeous. But she barely said two words to me. Either she's taken or she's a lesbian."

I snorted. Leave it to Zack to jump to those conclusions. Like every girl he batted his eyes at had to immediately fall to the floor at his feet and worship him. Granted, quite a few did, but there'd been plenty who'd turn him away. Something about this girl seemed to really be bothering him though. Was it really had big of a deal that he'd gotten rejected? Or was it something else?

"We should ask Josh." I glanced over at him and rolled my eyes. "Okay, maybe we should ask him when he's not drunk off his ass."

Zack turned to look at me with a raised eyebrow as if to say 'like you're not trashed, too?' He didn't say that, though I had no doubt he was thinking it. Instead he just said "Yeah, that'd probably work. She seems to be close to Carla so I'm s
ure he knows all about her."

I turned and watched Josh, frowning. I wished there was a way to sober him up quickly. But he was so engrossed in whatever story he was telling he didn't even realize we were having a completely different discussion. At the rate he was going, he was going to be completely shitfaced until tomorrow night. Hell, we'd be lucky if he was completely sober when it finally came time for his wedding!

It was a wonder Carla hadn't killed the two of us yet. She'd clearly seen how drunk Josh was and from what I could tell had just laughed about it. As much as I'd given him shit for actually settling down with a woman, he really had find quite the woman. Carla always seemed to be so laid back and willing to put up with not just Josh's shit, but our shit, too.

The thought of settling down made me look back at Janine. For some reason, her face had come to mind when I'd thought of Josh settling down. That just made my heart pound faster. What the hell was going on? I wondered to myself.

For a while, I just zoned out, all thoughts completely leaving my mind as I stared across the bar. I'd been drawn to girls before, but never like this. That had always been purely sexual, wanting them so badly it made my cock ache. But this was different. This made my entire body ache for her.

What the hell was wrong with me?

I went through at least two drinks, if not more, just sitting there lost in my own head. The alcohol didn’t help, but I couldn't seem to stop myself from drinking it. It was almost as if my body was saying "a little bit more will fix you!" even though it was just making things worse. The more I drank, the more I thought about Janine.

She was still sitting across the bar from us, talking to Carla. They had their heads together as they looked at Janine's laptop, occasionally pointing at something and laughing. I wished we were close enough to hear what they were saying, but even if we'd been at the table next to them, with how loud the bar had gotten, it'd have been impossible.
