The things we do for love.

“How sure of that are you?” Cassie asked and Luke turned round to look at her and he pulled a face.
“Not very.”
“I didn’t think so.” She said. “We’re doomed.”
“So,” Luke looked round at her. “Spring or summer?”
“Spring or summer, what?” she frowned.
“Wedding.”
“Are you…” she stopped.
Luke stood up and grabbed her hand so that he could pull her to her feet and he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close.
“I love you Cassie Kerrigan. Will you marry me.”
“Is that really what you want?” she asked him. “I come with a lot of… complications.” She said.
“I had noticed that. Don’t worry I am going to work hard at un-complicating you.” He promised.
“And it is really what you want?” She tried again.
“Very much so.” Luke bent his head so that he could kiss her throat.
“I… Oh… I love you to.”
“So then say yes you will marry me.”
“But… Faye.”
“She’ll get an invite.”
“That’s not what I meant.” Cassie told him.
“Cassie, stop hiding behind her. Come out of the shadows.” Luke kissed a trail up her throat to her lips and he kissed her passionately until she couldn’t think straight. She groaned and clung to him.
“But.” She tried again.
“You can’t hide from me Cassie. I already told you. I can hear you. And I am not about to let you retreat into the shadows to fool yourself into believing that you are invisible.” Luke told her tenderly as he looked down at her face and ran his fingers through her hair. “I love you, so put me out of my misery. Will you marry me?”
“Yes I will marry you.” She said.
“Spring or summer?”
“Um…” Luke dipped his head so that he could kiss along her cheek to find her earlobe. She couldn’t concentrate with the feel of Luke’s lips on her skin. It was driving out all thoughts from her head. “Late spring.” She managed.
“Perfect.”
“Yes this is.” Cassie agreed as Luke came back to her lips.
“No, you are perfect my beautiful Cassie.”
Coming soon…
Amanda: When I came back home after ten years away I had managed to convince myself that anything I once felt for Jake Michelson was long gone. That was until I bumped into him again and I realised that I was wrong. Worse than that the man won’t leave me alone. He really needs to move on and get over it. Not that there is anything to get over,
not then, not now, not ever.
Jake: I spent years trying to find Amanda, who would have thought I would have just bumped into her like that. Now that I have I am not letting her go again. She will face up to the fact that she loves me. That she has always loved me and that she always will love me. She is mine, she has always been mine.
