  “It wasn’t that bad.”

“Meh…I agreed with everything Cinema Sins said about it.” His lips quirked at the edges. “You gotta admit, Mystique not getting all the love was fucked up.”

“True. Mystique is fucking sexy.” She would so do that woman. With or without the full body paint. “She’s definitely in my spank bank.”

“That you have a spank bank and admit it is damn hot.”

“It’s not weird that a chick is in there?”

“Fuck no! I have chicks in mine.”

“Duh. Do you have any guys?” The way he pressed his lips together made her wonder if she’d gone too far. Most guys didn’t like even the idea of doing shit with other guys. Accepting her brother wasn’t straight had made her way too comfortable. “Sorry, I was just teasing.”

His shoulders lifted. He laughed and shook his head. “Hugh Jackman is hot as Wolverine. I’d do him.”

Heat pooled in her core and she couldn’t keep walking. She pulled up short, dragging him down to her so she could lick his bottom lip. “You just had to say that. How much farther?”

He groaned as she rubbed against him. “About ten blocks.”

“Too far.” She grabbed his hand and led him into the closest alley. It was late. They hadn’t seen a car pass in forever. If she didn’t feel him inside her soon, she’d combust. “I want you. Please?”

He pressed her against the brick wall, his lips parted against hers. “Baby, I’m not fucking you in the alley.”

“But I want you to!” She gasped as he slid his hand between her thighs. “I don’t want to talk any more. I don’t want to think. I just want to feel.”

Lowering his lips to her throat, he nodded. “I’m so hard for you, sweetie. But I don’t want you to feel used.”

“I won’t.” She tipped her head back as his fingers nudged her panties aside and dipped into her. She’d stopped bleeding a lot faster than the doctor had expected. She was normal again. She could have this. Have him. “I will beg.”

“You don’t have to.” He slid his fingers in deeper, reaching back and tugging out his wallet. He flipped it open and used his teeth to take out a condom.

That he’d clearly done this before got her even more worked up. She didn’t have to worry that she was playing with some poor nice guy who always did flowers and the right amount of dates before making sweet love to a girl. Ian was ready. Willing. Unattached.

She could just take whatever he had to give.

He managed to get the condom on without slowing the steady thrust of his fingers. Her pussy ached when he drew away, but he lifted her up and the thickness of him pressed against her.

The fullness was amazing as the head of him stretched her. Her body wasn’t ruined. Maybe she wasn’t as tight as she’d been, but he didn’t seem to notice as he sank in deeper and deeper, so careful, but his restraint was torture.

  Until the stretching became painful.

She pressed her eyes shut at the sting of tears. It wasn’t the stretching at all. She was still tender, and his thrust sent a hot wave of pain stabbing into her.

“Aww, sweetie. Why didn’t you say something?” Ian drew out almost all the way. Holding her close and whispering to her as he moved in shallow thrusts. “If I’d known, I would have been more careful. Tell me if you want me to stop.”

Stop? The very idea was horrifying. She wasn’t sure what he’d wanted her to tell him, but the gentle way he moved eased the pain and stirred the pleasure. She clung to his shoulders, whimpering as the sensations boiled at a steady pulse, rising until she could feel the edge of release, lingering so close.

“Don’t stop. Fuck, that feels good.” She dug her heels into his back. “Just like that is perfect. I’m so close!”

He pressed his lips to her throat. Drew his dick out until only the thick head teased her. “How close?”

“Ah!” She pressed her head to his shoulder as every muscle within rippled with white hot waves of pleasure. Her nails dug into the back of his neck as she choked back a scream of ecstasy. He sank in all the way and shuddered, one arm around her waist, hand under her ass, the other pressed into the wall as he came.

Her body clung to him, and she prayed he wouldn’t move, because she’d never been this sensitive. If he tried to pull away it would either hurt, or she’d come again.

He didn’t seem to be in a rush to let her go. He simply held her, kissing her neck and whispering sweet nonsense.

After what seemed like forever, she unwrapped her legs from around his waist. His dick slipped from her body and her face heated when she saw the blood.

“Hey, it’s all good. We can take a shower at my place.” He tossed the condom in a nearby bin, covered himself, then smiled at her. “I don’t know why you were cool with me being your first, but you won’t be sorry. I promise.”

There had to be a special place in hell for a girl that let a guy believe she was sweet and innocent when she wasn’t. But Sam knew she was damned already. Maybe she could earn forgiveness if she was the type to believe in all that stuff.

She didn’t though. And either way, she wanted this. Wanted to feel special and cherished and taken care of.

Her first time had been rough and cold. The guy had given her cab money while she was still feeling sore and vulnerable. He’d gotten her name wrong a few times while he’d fucked her. And she didn’t remember his.

There was no way to get another first time, but this was close enough.

  And she’d take it.

If he didn’t tell her to take a hike in the morning, she’d tell him the truth.

Until then, she’d let him believe whatever made him continue looking at her like she was precious. She couldn’t remember the last time a man had looked at her like that.

She wasn’t sure any man ever had.

“Just hold me, Ian?” She closed her eyes as he straightened her clothes and pulled her into his arms. “Hold me tonight, and I won’t regret a thing.”

  Chapter 11

A soft buzzing woke Ian, but he figured it was Pisch’s phone and ignored it. No one really called him. Not this early, anyway.

Unless it was his grandmother’s nurse?

He squinted at the clock, his throat tightening. It was 7:25 AM. A call this early couldn’t mean anything good. He brushed away the long, soft strands of hair sticking to his arm, and his stomach flipped when he realized two things.

  He wasn’t at Pisch’s place.

And there was a girl in his bed.

Sam. Her name is Sam. She wasn’t one of his random hook ups. She’d been a virgin, and he’d fucked her in a damn alley.

Which made him a horrible person. Forgetting she was here, at his place, in bed with him, was even worse. What the hell was wrong with him?

  Too much whiskey?

No, he wouldn’t blame the alcohol. He hadn’t been drunk, he just hadn’t been thinking.

His phone buzzed again, and he slipped out of the bed, grabbing his jeans and taking his phone out as he quietly left the room. Thankfully, the call wasn’t from his grandmother’s nurse.

  It was from Pisch.

He quickly called Pisch back. “Hey, everything all right?”

“Yeah, everything’s fine, I just wanted to make sure you don’t miss the bus. We’re leaving in two hours.” Pisch cleared his throat. “Figured we could grab a coffee before heading out.”

Shit. He’d completely forgotten to set his alarm. Or mentally prepare himself for the flight. His stuff was all packed, so he didn’t have to rush, but hanging out with Pisch would give him a chance to get his head where it needed to be. And they could make sure they were cool.

But he couldn’t just kick Sam out and take off.

He sighed and shook his head. “Umm…maybe? I’ve got a couple things to take care of, but I’ll let you know if I can make it.”

“Please do.” Pisch went quiet. Then spoke softly. “White, I understand if you’re not ready to discuss what happened yet, but
I’ll be here when you are.”

Ian swallowed, holding the phone away from his mouth so Pisch wouldn’t hear him. He hated how things had gone down. Hated even more that he had to carefully consider what he should say to Pisch.

But he liked that Pisch wasn’t being pushy. That he was giving Ian the space he needed. While not giving him too much. He pressed his lips together, leaning against the fridge and nodding.

“Thanks, man. I needed to hear that.”

“Good. Because I have no problem repeating myself.” Pisch let out a soft, tired laugh. “I’ll see you in a bit.”

Hanging up, Ian put on a pot of coffee, waiting until it was full before heading back to his room to wake up Sam. She looked so cute, curled up on his bed, her hair strewn across her face and his pillow. He half wanted to climb back in bed with her, snuggle for a bit, and wake her up with a nice, long kiss.

Only, he hadn’t really kissed her yet, had he? Their lips had touched a few times, but everything had gotten hot and heavy really fast. Too fast.

He wasn’t even sure if it had meant anything to her. She’d come on strong, which had made him think she had experience, but he’d been so very wrong. Which left him feeling like the worst kind of scum.

To top it off, he had to tell her about the flight in a few hours, and how he’d be gone for a few days. He could call her, but would that be enough? She’d probably think he was blowing her off now that he’d gotten in her pants.

Or under her skirt since she hadn’t been wearing pants.

“You know, I can almost feel you thinking very hard.” She smiled, not opening her eyes as she turned sleepily toward him. “If you tell me your girlfriend called, and you need to get me out of here before she gets back, I’m going to punch you.”

His eyes widened and his lips parted. He plunked down on the edge of the bed, staring at her. “Fuck, why would you think that?”

Her eyes slit open, and she shrugged. “I don’t know. You get a call then come back in here all quiet. I’m just assuming the worst.”

“I don’t have a girlfriend.” But if he was going to call her, and see if there was anything besides one brief quickie between them, he should probably be honest. “There is someone in my life, but we’re not in a committed relationship. I’m not a cheater.”

She pushed up to a sitting position, cocking her head slightly as she rubbed her eyes with one hand. “Really? So she’s cool with you taking other chicks home?”

“Yeah…” Honesty, Ian. Spit it out. He tugged at his bottom lip with his teeth. “He’s fine with it. Or I think he is. He should be; he fucks other people.”

“Oh!” She giggled and leaned toward him. “Wow, you’re bisexual? That’s so fucking cool! Is it horrible that I’d love to watch you with your man? I think two guys together are hot.”

“You do?” He wasn’t sure what to make of her reaction. Didn’t most chicks want a stable relationship? Unless they weren’t looking for a relationship at all, but a virgin would probably be considering one, right? “I mean, me and you… Where do you want this to go?”

Her smile faded. “I don’t know. I’m kinda happy you haven’t told me to leave yet.”

“Leave? Why would I do that? I may be an asshole for what happened last night, but if I didn’t have a game tonight, I’d stay and—”

“A game?” She groaned and shook her head. “Wait, this can’t be a coincidence. The Cobras have a game tonight. You’re on the team, aren’t you?”

That seemed to bother her much more than him being…bisexual. Or in a relationship with a man, open or not.

“Yeah…sorry I didn’t mention it?” His brow furrowed as she muttered to herself and rolled to the other side of the bed to grab her clothes. “Wait, do you have a problem with hockey players?”

“Not really, but I wish Chicklet had given me a head’s up. Going back to her place is going to be awkward. She’s gonna ask what happened, and she knows I’m not into the game, but I was considering dating a player?” She let out a bitter laugh. “This is gonna suck.”

  “You don’t have to go.”

  “What?”

What? The voice in his head sounded just as shocked as she did, but it was the perfect solution. Apparently, she lived with Chicklet. And didn’t want to answer a whole bunch of questions.

He couldn’t do much for her before he had to go, but he could do this. “Stay here. There’s some food in the fridge, I got a big TV and tons of movies you’ll like. You’ll still have to let Chicklet know where you’re atat, but you won’t feel stuck telling her anymore than you want to. And I won’t feel like I completely abandoned you.”

“So this is partially for selfish reasons?”

She didn’t say it like that was a bad thing. And she was smiling.

So he smiled back and nodded. “Exactly. You’d be doing me a favor.”

“Well, in that case, sure! I’d love to stay. I’ll take care of your place, tidy up a bit, and make sure the food in your fridge doesn’t go bad.” She practically skipped across the room, leaning against him and wrapping her arms around his waist. “You’re crazy, you know that? I’m a complete stranger.”

“Not a complete stranger.” He kissed her forehead, the weight of regret easing from his chest. “I’m glad you’re taking this so well. Grab some coffee while I get you the spare key. I don’t have much time, but I’ll give you the WiFi password, and show you where everything is.”

“Free WiFi! I’ve died and gone to heaven!”

He snorted as he grabbed the key from the junk drawer in the hall table. Only one other person had the key to his place, but he couldn’t remember Pisch ever using it. They usually hung out at his place.

Probably because Pisch’s place was bigger. Ian looked around at his comfy little apartment. The kitchen wasn’t huge, but it had all the important stuff. He needed a new fridge at some point; the one that had come with the apartment was old when he moved in. And that was like, five or six years ago.

Damn, had he really been here that long?

All his stuff was worn, but in a familiar way. He hadn’t planned to stay here forever, but he didn’t hate the place.

He preferred Pischlar’s, but he wouldn’t think too much about that now. Sam would be comfortable here.

“Aww shit.” He groaned as he considered anything else she might need. Staying at Pisch’s so much meant he’d neglected a couple things here. “I washed some towels a few days ago, but I forgot to put them in the drier. They’re probably smelly now.”

Turning to him, with a mug of coffee held out, Sam laughed. “No biggie. I’ll just air dry.”

He managed not to pour the hot coffee down the front of his bare chest. Damn it, between her and Pisch, his sanity couldn’t take much more. And his dick…well, the poor guy needed a break. All kinds of sex and it was still constantly hard.

Beautiful naked chick, strutting around his apartment while he was in another damn province. Fate was determined to punish him for something.

Sam took a sip of her coffee, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “You’re too easy. Don’t worry, I’ll wash the towels again. And save walking around, water dripping all over my naked body, for when you get back.”

He cupped the hot mug in both hands, burning his lips, but gulping down a mouthful anyway. The pain centered him and he smiled at her. “You’re a cruel woman.”

  “I can be.”

“Do you need anything else? I gotta get dressed, but I’ll call you tonight and see how you’re doing.” There was more. Had to be. He frowned. “Should I leave you my credit card in case—”

“Dude! There’s sweet, and then there’s… Ian, you are not leaving me your credit card. I’ll be fine.” She leaned up to kiss his cheek. “Go get ready.”

Another gulp of coffee and he went to get changed into his suit. He stuffed the tie in his pocket, grabbed his rucksack, and met Sam back in the kitchen. He still felt like he needed to do something. Something to let her know last nigh
t had been special.

Sliding his hand around the back of her neck, he pulled her close. “This is crazy, right? I told you I’m with someone. We haven’t gotten to discuss anything, and now I’m leaving.”

“But I’ll be here when you get back.” She set down her mug and wrapped her arms around his waist. “He’s not here. No one else is. But you want me to be.”

“Yes.” He brought his lips to hers, brushing them gently with his own, tasting her as her lips parted. His bag hit the floor as the sweet taste of her coffee flavored mouth flooded his senses with heat and longing, and he couldn’t get enough.

Her tongue teased his, and he let out a soft moan as he pulled her up against him. She fit so perfectly in his arms, and he hadn’t gotten a chance to touch and taste every fucking beautiful inch of her. Another hour wouldn’t be enough time.

But having her here, waiting for him, guaranteed he’d get that chance.

She raked her fingers into his hair, sighing as she drew away. “I can’t ask you to stay, can I?”

“Please don’t, I might consider it.” He kissed her again, softly this time, knowing it was time to say goodbye. “I’ll call you tonight?”

“You might need my number.” She gave him that cute little cheeky grin, slipping her hand into his pocket to grab his phone. “I’m gonna watch First Class while you’re playing.”

He snorted and shook his head. “So much for asking if you’d be cheering me on.”

“Oh, I’ll be cheering you on, babe.” She winked at him and gave him a playful shove toward the door. “When you get home.”

  Chapter 12

Apparently, having time to kill came in handy. Since they needed one of their best players to voluntarily leave his house and get on the damn bus. Sooner, rather than later.

Thankfully, two thirds of the trouble triplets had been planning for the inevitable. Shawn was along for his ‘Dom’ influence. When Luke Carter, first line left winger extraordinaire and mouthpiece of the team, suggested Shawn would be perfect for the job, Shawn had laughed and asked “Why not Mason or Callahan?”
