Abby and the Mystic Dancers

Stepping into the clearing, Abby glanced at Carly, Ethan, and Aaron. “Do you see it?” She gazed up at the white oak tree.
“Wow,” breathed Ethan, almost staring straight up.
“See what?” asked Carter, looking around.
The sudden appearance of black smoke had nearly all of them jumping. With three loud pops, three people appeared. “Agghhh, I hope they have the fires started,” said a soft male’s voice.
Feminine laughter rang out. “You should have brought an umbrella. I tried to warn you.” The woman in a pale blue dress laughed again as she stepped off her carpet and closed her umbrella.
The guy pulled his soaked black shirt from his skin. “Since when is a Normal’s weather report actually accurate?” He sighed heavily.
The woman looked at Abby. “Well, hello again, Abby.”
The man jerked around. If he was stunned by the Wielders accompanying her, he hid it well. He grinned. “Hello, Abby.”
Abby smiled at the twins. “Hello, Nuana. Nick. Long time no see.”
Abby made the introductions. “Nuana is our emblem creator, and her brother, Nick, is a Watcher. Are those our new emblems?” Abby asked, pointing to the gold bag Nuana had.
Sliding her gold bag over her shoulder, Nuana smiled. “Perhaps.” She gestured to a small girl behind her. “This is Mary. We found her wandering around in the woods not far from here.”
The girl, a couple years younger than Abby, looked quite dirty, and tried to hide behind Nuana. Abby barely got to say hello before Rainy appeared. “Great! All of you are here already. Come on in. Everyone’s waiting.”
“Waiting for what?” asked Carter.
“For the fun to begin,” replied Rainy, touching the tree. Carter jerked in surprise as voices and laughter echoed throughout the clearing.
