Shattered (Book Two of the Beautifully Broken Series)

Kathryn bucked and cried out as she felt his cock drive deep into her swollen pussy. Her flesh burned, their sweaty skin slick as they moaned and thrust in animalistic unison. Juice trickled onto her thighs, her muscles aching from clamping his hips. Already the spasms of her painfully mounting orgasm. She strained to free her hands, and finally James released them. Clinging to his back, her nails raking his flesh, they came explosively, their cries muffled only by their mouths seeking each other.
Gasping, they collapsed into each other’s arms, their heartbeats a pounding staccato. Kathryn stared dazedly at a very rumpled James and ran her fingers through his damp curls. They smiled at each, then burst into sudden laughter.
“Look at us!” Kathryn said. “How on Earth are we going to go back to Gala looking like this?”
James cocked an eyebrow. “My lovely goddess, there isn’t another woman that can touch you, after sex or before.”
“You think anyone heard us?”
James grinned broadly. “Well, this is the bridal lounge. Consider it a preview of coming attractions.”
They embraced again before Kathryn reluctantly disengaged herself and rose. James rolled onto his side and raptly watched her gather their clothes from the floor.
“Venus rising from the half shell,” he said.
“Enough with the goddess thing,” Kathryn said, “or else that name’s going to stick. Be warned, I’m starting to like the sound of it.”
“Then goddess it will remain.”
Kathryn gathered her clothes, toiletries and towels and headed for the shower. “I’ll try not to take long. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve already been missed.”
James rose and followed her. “Well, we can save time by showering together,” he said, pausing at her skeptical expression. “For water conservation purposes, of course.”
Kathryn proceeded to open the shower door and motioned him inside. “After you,” she said with a huge grin.

Checking themselves in the mirror a final time, James turned to Kathryn with a smile.
“So do I pass muster?” he asked, “or do I still look like I just had the best sex ever?”
Kathryn shook her head and took a moment to adjust his shirt collar. “I only hope nobody missed us. It might look suspicious that the reason for the Gala has disappeared along with the organizer.”
James leaned over and kissed her cheek. “In the immortal words of Rhett Butler, frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
Kathryn cocked an eyebrow. “I’m impressed. I didn’t think you were a fan of movie classics.”
“Oh, there’s quite a bit more you have yet to learn about me,” he said, “and I can’t wait to show you.”
“I’m looking forward to it, but for now, let’s get back downstairs and show our faces.”
James went to the door first, opened it and looked around before leaving. Kathryn waited a couple of minutes before following. As she closed the door behind her, Sandra appeared with a look that instantly concerned her.
“What happened?” Kathryn asked.
Sandra glanced around and noticed James already downstairs mingling with the guests. The atmosphere was so hectic it didn’t seem to Kathryn that they had been missed, but Sandra’s expression told otherwise.
“I think Heather’s here,” Sandra said in a low voice.
