  Oscar understood Ryan’s intention, but he’d already decided to let him off the hook this time. “Yes, they are related to Asuras. The first Asura Dragon was a Normal Blackthorn dragon, which is a low-class dragon species.

  “While it was still inside the egg, it got infected by an Asura’s blood which made it undergo a mutation. It should have died but it somehow survived, and after the mutation, it transformed into a variant species of Blackthorn dragon, namely an Asura Dragon,” Oscar said.

  “Many people tried to replicate this feat but all failed, as the young ones of other Elemental Beasts would die the moment the Asura blood entered their bodies,” he continued.

  “Grandfather, how powerful is an Asura?” Ryan asked his grandfather with curiosity. If some drops of Asura blood could mutate an Elemental Beast into something so powerful, then how powerful is an Asura actually?

  “Powerful is an understatement! They can make even gods flee for their life. They are even called God Slayers. No one would deliberately mess with one even in the Divine World,” Oscar said.

  “To kill a single Asura thousands of Supreme Martial Artists and other beings that have become Gods have to join forces and even then, victory is not guaranteed,” Oscar continued.

  “Are Asura Dragons comparable to Asuras in terms of strength and powers?” Ryan asked.

  “No. They are far from being able to compete with an Asura,” Oscar replied. “The first Asura Dragon only gained two Innate Abilities of the Asuras. One was the Variant flame of Asura known as Hell’s Fire flame and the other was the inferior version of the powerful Physique of Asuras. Though the physique they possess is not comparable to that of a real Asura, it is still tyrannical,” Oscar continued as he looked at Ryan.

  “If I am not wrong you possess the Physique of Asura Dragon, right?” Oscar asked with a little enthusiasm. Martial Artists possessing a Special physique are the most difficult to deal with and if Ryan possessed the Physique of Asura Dragon he would have tyrannical strength and bodily toughness.

  Ryan nodded his head.

  “Good! Good!” Oscar said as his face brightened up.

  Ryan didn’t know how his grandfather had guessed, but Oscar could guess what Ryan was thinking.

  “The bodies of Martial Artists with powerful physiques release a unique vibration when they use powerful moves,” Oscar said with a smile. Ryan wanted to hit his head in frustration on the floor for hiding something that was so easy to detect.

  After calming his emotions, he asked Yama, “Yama, can you do a little explaining please?”

  He was confused. If his grandfather was correct, then Yama should possess Fire Attribute, but on the contrary, he lacked it.

  “I need a Fire Attribute Heavenly Treasure to activate my dormant Fire Attribute, which in turn would ignite Hell’s Fire flame inside me. Real Asuras also need to do that, as initially, even their Fire Attribute is dormant,” Yama explained to Ryan, who felt giddy on hearing that. When he was young, he’d always wanted a Fire Attribute Martial Spirit.

  As Ryan wished to activate his dormant Fire Attribute at the earliest, he then informed his grandfather immediately. “I require a Fire Attribute Heavenly Treasure to activate the dormant Fire Attribute of my Martial Spirit. After that I will also gain Hell’s Fire flame.”

  “What kind of Fire Attribute Heavenly Treasure do you need? Is there a specific type?” Oscar immediately asked with enthusiasm. If Ryan could get Hell’s Fire flame, then his strength and powers would increase exponentially. Hell’s Fire flame was an outstandingly powerful Evil variant flame. The Flames that gave off evil vibes were called Evil variant flames.

  “Heavenly flame of any rank or something similar would do,” Yama told Ryan.

  The moment Ryan heard Yama his spine shivered a little as absorbing a Heavenly flame was akin to committing suicide. It is not easy to absorb one, but if he was able to do it, his combat prowess and strength would increase exponentially.

  Heavenly flames are variant flames birthed by nature. They are found in Fire Treasure Lands or places with a high concentration of Fire Elemental Energy. These flames possess sentience and can attack the beings that try to absorb them.

  Heavenly flames are of various types and each flame has unique properties. These flames are many times more powerful than Normal flames, and the difficulty in absorbing Heavenly flames directly depends on its grade. Hell’s Fire flame is not a Heavenly flame, but its power is comparable to one.

  “Don’t worry. You won’t die,” Yama said as he could sense fear in Ryan. “Asuras are beings that are immune to Fire attribute and all evil attributes. Since you possess Asura Physique, your body has the same characteristics as an Asura. Believe me – nothing will happen to you,” Yama reassured him, and Ryan calmed down a little.

  An idea came to Ryan’s mind. His eyes started shining brightly. “If what you said is true, then can’t I just absorb as many Heavenly flames as I want?” Ryan asked.

  “You can, but those Heavenly flames should be more powerful than Hell’s Fire flame. Otherwise, the Hell’s Fire flame won’t mutate and gain the unique properties of that flame. You’ll have a hard time finding flames as powerful as Hell’s Fire flame,” Yama said with a laugh.

  “So that’s how it is,” Ryan said after pondering for a while.

  “I will need a Heavenly flame of any grade to activate the dormant Fire attribute of my Asura Dragon Martial Spirit,” Ryan repeated Yama’s exact words to his grandfather.

  Oscar’s eyes went wide with shock but regained his composure quickly. Hell’s Fire flame is one of the strongest types of variant flame. This flame is one of the reasons behind the invincibility of Asuras, so there are bound to be risks associated with gaining such a powerful variant flame.

  All kinds of Fire attribute beings covet Heavenly flames. If a Fire Martial Artist successfully absorbs a Heavenly flame it leads to the evolution of his or her Martial Spirit. The flames he or she then conjures are Heavenly flames instead of Normal flames. A Martial Artist possessing a Heavenly flame always has an edge over other Martial Artists during combat.

  If a Fire Attribute Normal Elemental Beast absorbs a Heavenly flame, then it evolves into a variant of its species, which is always stronger than its previous species. The variant Elemental Beast possesses strength and powers equivalent to Elemental Beasts possessing the bloodline of an Ancient or Divine Elemental Beast. The increment in strength depends on the grade of the Heavenly flame, but if the Heavenly flame is of a higher grade, then it might become as strong as the descendants of Divine and Ancient Elemental Beasts.

  The Fire Attribute Normal Elemental Beast with the bloodline of an Ancient or Divine Elemental Beast has an increase in the concentration of its bloodline after absorbing Heavenly flame. It then evolves into the variant species of its Ancient Elemental Beast or Divine Elemental Beast, and it possesses low-grade bloodline purity after evolution. If a descendant of a Fire Attribute Ancient or Divine Elemental Beast absorbs a Heavenly Flame, then its bloodline purity increase, and it turns into a variant of its species, and its bloodline purity could even increase up to original-grade.

  In all the cases, Elemental Beasts conjure Heavenly flames instead of Normal flames, and Variant Elemental Beasts irrespective of their type are far stronger than the original species.

  If a living being fails in absorbing a Heavenly flame, then he or she becomes a supplement for the Heavenly flame, which can lead to an increase in the power of the Heavenly flame and also make it difficult for others who attempt to absorb the Heavenly flame afterwards. If the power of a Heavenly flame increases enough, then no one will dare to attempt absorbing it. For this reason, a bloody fight erupts every time a new Heavenly flame is birthed by any of the Fire Treasure Lands on Grandura, as the Heavenly flame is in its weakest state right after birth. If a Heavenly flame can gain sufficient strength and powers, then it ascends to a Divine World where it is reborn as a Heavenly Fire Elemental.

  A Fire Elemental is a living
being that is made up of fire alone. There are Elementals of other attributes like water, wind and so on too. Heavenly Fire Elementals are variant species of Fire Elementals, solely made up of Heavenly flames. Not all Heavenly Fire Elementals start their journeys as Heavenly flames – most are Heavenly Fire Elementals right from birth in the Divine Worlds.

  Divine Worlds don’t have Heavenly flames, but they do have Heavenly Fire Elementals which are known for their terrifying might. Martial Artists and other beings on Divine Worlds have to slay a Heavenly Fire Elemental before they can absorb its body, in order to gain a Heavenly flame. As a result, it is many times more difficult to gain a Heavenly flame on a Divine World than on a lower one.

  To gain access to a newborn Heavenly flame was almost impossible for Ryan and he had no intention of letting his grandfather risk his life. He would just absorb an old Heavenly flame. Since he was immune to fire, then the risk of absorbing the Heavenly flame was negligible.

  “I will try to find information regarding newborn Heavenly flames,” Oscar said with a smile on his face.

  “There is no need,” Ryan said with a smile. “You previously told me about the Ancient Heavenly flame that exists inside Devil Volcano. We can go there,” he said.

  “No. That flame is very close to its ascension. Its flames are so strong that even I might die,” Oscar immediately refused Ryan’s suggestion.

  “Grandfather, my physique gives me a very high resistance to Fire attribute compared to other people,” Ryan said as he tried to convince Oscar, but Oscar had no intention of changing his stand on this matter.

  Ryan couldn’t tell if he was totally immune to Fire attribute, as Asura Dragons are not immune to Fire attribute, but they do have a very high resistance to Fire attribute. Even if someone had a very high resistance to Fire attribute, that still didn’t guarantee survival against Heavenly flames. It only meant reduced damage from Fire attribute, so Oscar had no intention of letting Ryan risk his life.

  “How about testing me before you make a final decision?” Ryan said as he tried to nudge his grandfather one final time.

  On seeing how persistent Ryan was, Oscar decided to give in to Ryan’s request. If Ryan could absorb a Heavenly flame, then he would gain Hell’s Fire flame, which was very enticing. He was Ryan’s grandfather, so it was only natural that he wanted Ryan to have a powerful variant flame, and Hell’s Fire flame is one that can melt even the strongest and toughest metals with ease. With Hell’s Fire flames Asuras can burn Godly beings into nothingness without them being able to put up any kind of resistance.

  Oscar took a charm out of his Spatial pouch. It was made of a piece of cloth and runes were drawn on it. Ryan could feel powerful energy sealed inside the charm.

  Charms are the simplest artifacts. A Martial Artist can seal his attack in one and use it in a time of emergency or sell it to others for a similar purpose.

  “This charm was made by a Martial Artist who possessed a Heavenly flame. He has sealed a bit of his Heavenly flame inside it. I can use it to test your so-called resistance,” Oscar said, and then continued, “Extend your hand. I will release little bit of flame from the charm on your hand.”

  Even if Ryan lost his hand it could still be regrown with the help of powerful healing pills. This experiment would give Oscar a clear picture regarding Ryan’s resistance to Fire attribute so he could make a decision.

  The moment Oscar was about to release the Heavenly flames from the charm, Emilia returned to the Martial field. She was but naturally alarmed by the scene in front of her eyes. Ryan told her everything, but it took him another half hour before he could convince her.

  Ryan extended his arm for Oscar to begin. The charm was activated by Oscar and burst into blue-colored Heavenly flames, which hovered in Oscar’s palm.

  “Are you ready Ryan?” Oscar asked one last time. Ryan nodded his head with full confidence, as he had full faith in Yama.

  With a single thought from Oscar, the blue flames that hovered in his palm flew towards Ryan’s hand. Ryan's hand was immediately engulfed in blue flames but there were no changes in his facial expression. Time passed, and the blue flames burnt as violently as before, but Ryan’s hand was perfectly fine. The Heavenly flame was unable to harm him. Oscar and Emilia had astonished looks for some time before smiles crept onto their faces.

  Oscar extinguished the Heavenly flame and said with a smile, “Let’s go to Devil Volcano.”

  Devil Volcano is situated in a Fire Attribute Treasure Land located some three thousand kilometers away from Hope City. This Treasure Land has a forest growing over it named Inferno Forest, which is home to very many Fire Elemental beings. Even the vegetation of this forest is of Fire attribute.

  Oscar and Ryan were flying towards Devil Volcano at high speed. Ryan was wrapped in his grandfather’s Spirit Power as he was still unable to fly. Only Martial Artists with a Cultivation Level of Mortal Lord Realm and above can fly and Ryan was still a little far from that.

  Inferno Forest’s temperature was above one hundred degrees Celsius in the exterior parts, and it kept on increasing as they went deeper into it. That level of heat had no effect on either Ryan or Oscar. Ryan was able to see hundreds of Fire Elemental Beasts and Birds of different species. He even saw the descendants of Divine Elemental Beasts and Birds like Phoenixes, Fire scale Dragons and so on. He was unable to gauge their Cultivation Levels, but he knew that all of them were remarkably powerful as each one had a terrifying aura around it. The Elemental Beasts and Birds didn’t engage with them in a fight but stepped aside for them to pass, as if they had no intention of messing with Oscar.

  Devil Volcano is situated in the middle of Inferno Forest, where the densest and purest Fire Elemental Energy is. Ryan was agape when he saw Devil Volcano for the first time. It was enormous – even colossal Elemental Beasts were dwarfed in front of it. Oscar flew directly towards its mouth where the temperature was highest, thousands of degrees. Oscar was still using just his body to resist such a high temperature, which shocked Ryan.

  “You are not the only one who possesses a Special physique,” Oscar said with a smile as he understood what Ryan was thinking. Ryan was even more shocked upon hearing this. His grandfather possessed Calamity Giant as his Martial Spirit which meant he possessed the Physique of Calamity Giant. A Calamity Giant can destroy a higher world with a single punch and is known for its terrifying might and unmatched Innate Abilities of Darkness Attribute.

  Devil Volcano was filled to the brim with lava and looked like a lava lake from the sky. They could already see the white-colored Heavenly flame situated in the middle of the volcano’s mouth. It was hovering on the surface of the lava as it burnt with the wailing sound of ghosts and ghouls. The atmosphere around it was sinister in the extreme.

  Ryan activated his Asura eyes, following which the iris in each of his eyes turned red. This was his first time he’d used them for an actual purpose.

  “You possess a Special sight!” Oscar said with astonishment as he noticed the changes in Ryan’s eyes.

  “Yes. I got Special sight along with my physique. All living beings get highlighted in my vision. They can’t hide from my eyes, no matter how good they are at hiding themselves,” Ryan said with a cheeky smile. Oscar sucked in cold air when he heard about Ryan’s eye ability. This is one of the most coveted eye abilities, as it always allows a Martial Artist to have an edge over enemies during combat. The shock on Oscar’s face was quickly replaced with a smile. He was thrilled at that moment.

  “So, what do you see?” Oscar asked excitedly.

  “There are no Elemental Beasts in the area surrounding the Heavenly flame. All the Elemental Beasts living under the lava keep a safe distance from the Heavenly flame,” Ryan said. Oscar nodded his head. He was expecting this as the Heavenly flame would attack Elemental Beasts if they came too close to it. An attack from this Ancient Heavenly flame would be no joke.

  Ryan didn’t tell his grandfather about everything that he
saw. In his Asura eyes, the blazing flames of the Heavenly flame were replaced with a White Fiery Serpent condensed only out of white flames. This was the physical form the Heavenly flame had decided on for itself. When a Heavenly flame ascends to a Divine World and is reborn as a Heavenly Fire Elemental, it looks similar to the physical form it had taken in the lower world. It is considered suicidal to attempt absorbing a Heavenly flame that has already taken a physical form, as no one has ever succeeded in doing that. Ryan knew that his grandfather would drop the idea of letting him absorb the Heavenly flame if he knew about that.

  “Put this amulet around your neck. It will protect you in case you are unable to successfully absorb the Heavenly flame. Its Heavenly flame is called Devil’s flame, and its power is comparable to Hell’s Fire flame. It is an Evil Heavenly flame that burns its victims slowly, so they undergo a lot of agony before they die,” Oscar said as he took out an ice-cold amulet from his pocket.

  Then Oscar continued, “This flame has another specialty: it is capable of suppressing Evil creatures. Since you are also a Death Attribute Martial Artist then this flame will come handy in keeping Undead creatures under your control in check.” Ryan could tell that it was not a Normal amulet as it was put it around his neck. It had an overwhelming amount of Water Attribute Energy sealed in it.

  “This amulet was made by your grandmother. She possesses the Heavenly water named Violent water, which has the same grade as the Devil’s flame in front of us,” Oscar said with a sigh. Ryan nodded his head. He didn’t ask too much, as he saw a painful expression appear on his grandfather’s face.

  Just as for Heavenly flames, there are other variants of different attributes that are birthed by nature. They have strength and powers like those of Heavenly flames and absorbing them is as dangerous as absorbing Heavenly flames.

  “OK, let’s get started. I will send you near the Devil’s flame. Absorb it as quickly as possible and make your Asura Dragon Martial Spirit devour it simultaneously as it appears within your Soul World after absorption,” Oscar said as he sent Ryan towards the Heavenly flame.
