Hot Ink (Paranormal Erotic Romance): Book I (A Walsh Jackson Novel 1)
Page 4
Walsh winced at the sight of their decapitated bodies. The pools of blood made him gag.
“Some tough guy you are,” Nash said. “Where were you after you left Zeek’s Bar last night?”
“You think I did that to my wife?”
“Ex-wife, Walsh. Ex-wife. Where were you?”
“In my shop.”
“Anyone see you? Anyone with you?”
“Yes, I have an alibi, Nash. I was with a woman last night from around one in the morning until four.”
“Great. That makes things much easier, doesn’t it?” Nash slid a pad of paper and a pencil across the desk. “Just write her name down here and we’ll have you on your way.”
Walsh took the pencil, ready to scribble down the name of the long-legged hotty he spent the early morning hours fondling and fucking, but recoiled when he remembered the consent form. Bridget Vixen, 1234 Intercourse Way, Climax, PA.
“Shit,” he said under his breath.
“What’s the matter, Walsh?”
“I was with someone, but I didn’t get her real name.” Walsh felt perspiration bead on his temple.
“Ha!” Nash said, clearly enjoying watching him squirm. “Now, that’s one I don’t hear every day.”
“I’m serious,” Walsh could feel his own blood boil. “I went to my shop after the fight with Grim. I wasn’t finished drinking. It was around 1:00AM, and I saw her standing outside, looking in the window.”
“What did she look like?” Nash asked.
“She looked like a business woman. Had on this short skirt suit and heels. Long blonde hair. Green eyes. Sad.”
“Sad?” Nash, amused, scribbled down his description of the girl.
“Yeah, there was something up. She wanted a tattoo right away, a very intricate design that would have made most men crumble in one session.”
“And you didn’t catch her name?”
“She filled out a consent form, but signed with a made up name.”
Nash finished making his notes. “Well, an alibi that can’t be identified means you don’t have an alibi.”
Walsh slammed his fist on the desk. “I had nothing to do with their murders.” Walsh felt a vein in his neck twitch with anger. His heart hammered inside his ribcage.
Something flashed out of the corner of his eye, drawing Walsh’s attention to the double-sided mirror. There on the reflective surface, The Blue Woman shimmered into view. Her blindfolded eyes were on him, Walsh was sure of it. Her top hand waved the sword she clutched as if beckoning him to follow.
“Did you hear me, Walsh?”
He heard Nash’s voice, but it floated into his ears from a far off place.
“Walsh!”
Walsh tore his eyes away from the mirror, his mind still on The Blue Woman watching him from blindfolded eyes.
Watching. That’s it!
“The security tape. You can watch the security tape and see that I wasn’t alone when Gloria and Grim were murdered.”
Nash twisted his face in disbelief.
“I didn’t kill them.” Walsh leaned back into his chair and crossed his arms. “Find the damn tape.”
Nash sighed. “Alright. I’ll send a team to your shop, but if nothing comes of it, I’m booking you.”
“Whatever, man.” Walsh returned his gaze to the mirror but The Blue Woman was gone.
He and Bridget, if that was even her real name, tore it up last night and Nash and his team were in for a real treat–if his deadbeat apprentice actually remembered to turn on the system before locking up the shop. If he walked out of here, Walsh swore he’d give that junky punk-kid a break. Otherwise, he’d beat him fucking senseless the next chance he got.

About the Author
L.E. Joyce is the real deal. At age six, she became the youngest student to get kicked out of her prestigious private school in New England for writing dirty stories in her little blue spelling book. Not only did she use each of the words assigned that week and spell them correctly, she also managed to give three of her teachers starring roles in several of her tales. As a result, she kept her stories a dirty secret until after graduate school where she earned an MFA in Creative Writing, and the right to write about whatever the hell she wants. Today, she divides her time (although somewhat unequally depending on the day) between her family, her writing, and her secret life as a dominatrix.
