Twisted Tom

  He left quietly and went back down stairs,

  Tom laid on the setee and fell asleep.

  Tom woke up and went into the kitchen, there was no sign of Suki, and he made some coffee and made some toast,

  He called Suki and she came down, she didn’t look to happy and sat at the kitchen table in silence,

  Tom placed a plate of toast and jam in front of her with a cup of coffee,

  “Ok I am sorry, I’ve been in a stupid mood for no reason I am stupid” he told her,

  Suki piped up and told him how she felt!

  Tom told her about the boat and she was happy and excited, she had never been on a posh boat on the Norfolk broads before,

  Tom spoilt her for a good hour, they showered together, and they kissed and caressed each other and were friends again,

  They both got themselves sorted and waited for the taxi to come.

  They got a taxi to Paddington, then another train onto Norfolk, another taxi took them to the boatyard, the whole journey took around under two hours, they had a good time on the train and talked.

  They got to the boatyard and was shown the boat.

  Tom was given a few lessons how to drive and moor the boat, paperwork was done and Tom signed for the boat and fuel, they set off and sailed around for a good two hours, the views were great, Suki loved it, Tom let her have a go at driving the boat, she screamed a few times as they passed under low bridges, they both laughed and joked and drank some wine.

  Tom moored the boat off and found a local shop,

  They bought snacks and a few bottles of wine then found a nice restaurant,

  Tom was over nice with Suki and she lapped it up. She felt that this could be the night that they actually would make love and sort things out, she wanted deep down for them to be a couple and more,

  The meal was great and they drank two bottles of wine,

  Suki was I a good mood and Tom was making her laugh,

  They went back to the boat,

  It was still quite early so they sailed up the river, Suki was sat on the front of the boat taking in the lovely surroundings,

  she smoked a cigarette and drank some more wine,

  The boat had a sliding back roof so Tom was close to Suki, he passed her a joint, Suki was a bit annoyed at first then took it of him, she smoked it and coughed, she passed it back to Tom, “bad boy, oh yes I will change you, for sure” she growled and giggled to herself,

  Tom guided the boat up the river, he was looking at the map and trying to find a quiet place.

  Tom put some nice music on the boats steroid system, Suki was dancing on the front of the boat, there wasn’t too many boats around as it was March and not the holiday period but the weather was good,

  They cruised for another half hour and Tom pulled in against the bank.

  Tom tied off the boat, the weather had changed, black clouds were coming towards them, tom knew the weather reports as he had looked at the weather prior to them leaving, the boat company had advised him about the bad weather coming but Tom wanted the weekend on the boat and paid well, they went ahead with the booking, Tom was given emergency numbers and stuff for the journey,

  He didn’t tell Suki about this,

  Tom went to the front of the boat with another glass of bubbly for Suki, she put her arms around Tom and kissed him passionately, Tom responded back, they laid down on the front of the boat and made love.

  It started to rain and black clouds came over them, Tom and Suki rushed around laughing to get inside and close the roof of the boat,

  The water was getting a little bit rough.

  Suki’s mobile rang and she answered it,

  It was Mr Santini, Suki told him where they were and that Tom had sprung it as a surprise for her, she told him that she loved Tom and Tom was spoiling her for the weekend, the boss told her his best wishes and to take care.

  Suki helped Tom to close the roof as the rain got harder, they both sat down and laughed, Suki kissed Tom and messed around as the boat bobbed around,

  It got dark outside, Tom brought snacks to the table and some more drinks, he made another joint and they smoked it together, Suki wasn’t too happy about it and told Tom off,

  They laughed and joked at the bad weather, Suki was a bit worried about the boat rocking about so much,

  Tom didn’t tie the ropes off correctly so the boat was rocking too much, a few things fell off the shelves and plates smashed,

  “Tom I am worried, we are on our own here, are we safe” Suki asked?

  “Sure but I think I need to secure the ropes a bit more, were rocking too much here” he replied, they both laughed and joked some more and forgot about the ropes,

  The rain was coming down hard and the boat was rocking, the music was playing and Tom and Suki drank two bottles of wine and smoked another joint, the snacks on the table went everywhere as the boat rocked,

  The rain eased off and the boat rocked gently,

  “This is romantic don’t you think Tom” Suki said, there was low music playing and Suki pulled Tom to her and they danced,

  Suki kissed Tom hard on the lips and Tom responded to her.

  They pulled apart and Suki pulled Tom two the front compartment where there was a double bed, she pulled him on top of her and they kissed passionately, Tom slowly undressed Suki until she was lying on the bed in her underwear, he massaged her all over whilst he did this, Suki was really enjoying it, Tom took his clothes off except for his pants, they kissed and rolled around on the bed, the boat rocked gently,

  Suki pulled Toms pants down and he did the same to her, Tom took her bra off and they made love.

  They laid there panting, “wow Tom I have not felt like that for a very long time” Suki said and kissed him, she went to climb onto him but Tom pulled away, “need a pee love” he announced and put on his pants, he jumped off the bed, “you want a drink” he called back to her, “sure and a smoke” she replied!

  Tom was in the galley, he opened a draw and looked at the knives inside.

  Suki came through and looked at Tom, “I need a pee too” she said and slapped his bum as she went past him,

  “Easy tiger” Tom replied and put a knife into the back of his pants,

  Tom put a tea shirt on and opened the roof, it had stopped raining and the sky was full of stars, tom put the heating on and made a joint, he made two glasses of brandy and waited for Suki, she came out wearing a dressing gown and looked shocked to see the roof open, “are you mad” she exclaimed,

  “Look at the stars my love, it’s great, so clear to me now” Tom said and took a drink, he passed Suki her glass and went next to Tom,

  The boat rocked steadily,

  “Amazing how fast the bad weather turns into good weather, a bit like life,

  “One minute you think your life has finished the next minute its turned the other way and there is a light at the end of the tunnel” Tom announced!

  “Are you ok Tom” Suki asked?

  “I mean look at me and you for instance, you know nothing about me, yet you’ve just made love to me in there, personally I wanted to stick you in your fat arse” Tom put in and started to laugh,

  “Stop it Tom that’s not nice, I thought what just happened was something special, it was too me” she said and started to cry,

  Tom stood on deck smoking the joint, he just stared at the stars, “if you don’t stop this weird stuff I will ring Mr Santini, you worry me now, too much drugs I think, stop now and come inside please” Suki asked him,

  “Bollocks baby I can see what’s ahead of me now, it’s plain to see” Tom slurred.

  Suki watched Tom, she lit a cigarette and had a swig from her glass, and she felt nervous and sat down, she checked her phone, there was no signal, Tom watched her and laughed, “no signal here baby, just you and me now and the night skies, so dark, yet so bright, I see so many things out there, pictures of me and things” Tom slurred,

  “Pass us up a another beer and come join me Suki, I’m sorry
I was talking a load of shit then” Tom exclaimed,

  Suk grabbed a beer for Tom and joined him on the front of the boat, the rain had stopped and it was dark, the light from the boat lit the area with the roof pulled back, there wasn’t any other boats around, Tom had moored the boat next to a grass bank with the steel hooks,

  “Will have to tighten those ropes before we go to bed” Tom told her, she smiled at him,

  Tom hugged Suki, “sorry my love” he said.

  “You don’t have to be sorry Tom, I love you, you naughty boy” Suki exclaimed,

  “But I am sorry Suki, he whispered into her ear,

  Tom grabbed her head and smashed it against the metal hand rail that went round the boat, he did it again and let go of her, Suki slumped to the deck and laid still,

  Tom watched her lying there, he sat down and lit a cigarette, and he drank from his bottle and started to whistle,

  A good hour went by and Tom was still watching Suki lying on the front of the boat, Tom flicked his cigarette into the water and an empty bottle of beer,

  Suki moved and moaned a little, there was a nasty cut above her right eye where Tom had bashed her head,

  He took out the knife from the back of his pants and knelt over Suki.

  Tom wanted to cut her up and feel her warm blood over him but stopped, he threw the knife into the water,

  Tom turned Suki over onto her front, she moaned,

  He pulled her leggings back and down her legs, he then pulled her panties aside to reveal her rear end,

  Tom unzipped the front of his trousers and started to play with himself,

  Tom moved closer to Suki and entered her bum, she moaned,

  Tom banged her head forward onto the deck and she was still again,

  Tom finished off and did himself up, he turned Suki over, her face was covered in blood, “why Tom” she murmured,

  Tom pushed her hard and she rolled over the side of the boat, there was a splash and gurgling then nothing,

  “Tom watched the water,

  “Bye Suki, was a pleasure” he whispered to himself,

  He watched the water some more, the current looked strong as the water rushed past the boat,

  Tom went inside and sat down, he had to think now straight now,

  Tom went and found a life jacket, he looked around, there was no other boats, it was one in the morning now, he threw the life jacket over board and washed down the front of the boat, he left a little bit of blood on the hand rail and looked for her mobile, there was no signal,

  Tom would go back to the boat yard tomorrow and raise the alarm, tell some daft story that they celebrated getting together and got too drunk and he woke in the morning to find no Suki.

  Tom put some sausages under the grill in the galley they had bought earlier on, Toms favourite meal was bangers and mash with peas and thick gravy, Suki had promised to make him it on the boat,

  He drank a another bottle of beer and sat next to the steering wheel, the roof was half open, he watched the water in the moon light, Tom made another joint and waited for his sausages to cook,

  He went around the boat feeling anxious and worried, Tom could smell the sausages so he went to check them out,

  Tom jumped off the boat and tightened the ropes and got back on again, he ate the sausages and closed the roof, and Tom smoked another joint and fell asleep on the bed.

  Tom woke, it was seven in the morning, his head was pounding, and he took a shower and sat next to the steering wheel smoking,

  He heard a boat coming down the river,

  Tom went opened the roof and went to the front of the boat,

  The boat got closer, it was one of those narrow boats,

  He started to wave at them franticly,

  The barge boat pulled up alongside Toms hired boat,

  “My girlfriend is missing” he shouted!

  There was on old man on the narrow boat, he shouted below and a woman came up.

  The old man and the woman secured their ropes to Toms boat and got on to his,

  “So what’s going on then young man” the old man asked, Tom put on the act and started to sound freaked out, “we went to sleep, I wake up and she’s gone, I don’t understand what’s going on” Tom shouted,

  The woman tried to calm Tom down and ask some questions, she got on her phone and called for help,

  “there’s blood ere my son” the old man exclaimed, you two have an argument or something” he asked,

  “No argument, we were celebrating getting together, we had maybe too much to drink last night, we went to be together, I woke up and she’s not here Tom announced!

  Tom looked at the blood and started to cry,

  “Easy now, she maybe could of gone for a walk or something” the lady exclaimed!

  I tried to ring her, there’s no signal here,

  The old man took his mobile out, “what’s her number, I got the right phone for this area” he said, “Tom looked at his mobile and told him Suki’s number, the old man rang the number, there was no answer, Tom had thrown her mobile into the water last night,

  The old lady went below to have a look.

  “I’m surprised the boat yard let you come out in the bad weather yesterday” the old man said to Tom,

  Tom jumped off the boat and started to shout for Suki!

  A man was coming down the path with a dog, he was holding what looked like a life jacket,

  “I heard the shouting, is all ok, I found this in the lock just further down, I can’t get a signal to call the boat yards yet or the police” the man exclaimed!

  “Hang on” the man said and looked at the life jacket again, he saw the name, it was the same name as was on Tom’s boat, “I think this belongs to you” the man announced!

  “Suki” Tom yelled and went down onto his knees,

  “Doesn’t mean anything yet, she still could of gone off for a morning walk and clear her head if you said you had a heavy night last night on the booze or something” the lady said as she came up,

  A radio crackled on the old man’s barge, he went and listened,

  The old man said a few things and came back onto Tom’s boat, “river police are on their way, and the boat yard is on their way too,

  Tom walked off calling out Suki’s name!

  “Sir don’t walk off too far, the police will be here soon, they will help look for Suki” the old man called to Tom,

  Tom saw the lock and also a camera high up on a post, it was looking at the lock, he looked back and his boat was just out of view, he was sweating and sat on the bank, Tom lit a cigarette and looked at the water.

  “Hello sir, Tom is it, how are you sir” he heard someone call,

  Tom looked up to see a river policeman standing there,

  “Need to ask you a few questions if I may sir” the policeman exclaimed,

  Tom nodded and stood up.

  “I don’t understand anything, it’s not like her to do this” Tom put in,

  “There’s blood on the boat sir that we need to look into” the policeman announced,

  “Let’s go back to the boat and have a chat shall we there’s a good lad” he added, Tom thought to himself: “cock”!

  “My colleague will go down river with the boat yard and have a good look see” the policeman said,

  “This is not happening, she’ll turn up, probably run out of fags or something, gone off for a walk, bolocks girl” Tom announced!

  Tom walked back to the boat with the policeman in quiet.

  Two boats went past, a river police boat and one from the boat yard, the guys on board waved as they went past,

  They got back to the boats, there was quite a few people around now offering to help, Tom borrowed the old man’s mobile phone and rang his boss, he had to leave a message as there was no pick up,

  Tom sat down at the table in his boat, the roof was right back now, Tom stood up and walked below, “sir we need to talk” the policeman exclaimed!

  “Need a pee” Tom
told him and went back into the boat,

  Tom looked around feeling anxious,

  He had a pee and went back up, he opened the fridge and took a bottle of beer out and went to where the policeman was sat,

  “Bit early for that sir” the policeman exclaimed, “I need it, still don’t believe this has happened.

  Tom sat down and the policeman quizzed him about last night’s activities and all about Suki,

  Tom sold him his story and the policeman wrote a lot of things down,

  The old man called out, “I got a call for you young man” he bellowed and passed the phone to Tom,

  Mr Santini was on the line, tom told him what had happened and he got so annoyed and hung up.

  “That went well, not” Tom announced and walked down the side of the river to be alone, he was left alone for a while whilst everyone searched for his girlfriend,

  A good hour past, Tom was back on his boat, the police had took all their statements from him, his boss had rang the old man’s phone again and Tom explained what had happened, he told him to let him know as soon as he knows anything,

  Tom was advised to go back to the boat yard and wait, the hired boat was to stay where it was, the police had cordoned off the boat and the general area,

  Another boat from the boatyard too Tom back to the head office,

  Tom had to leave his bag and Suki’s on the boat, orders from the police,

  Tom sat in the rest and did a lot of thinking, he would stick by his story, Tom went outside, and he had been waiting in the rest room for over an hour, he lit a cigarette,

  He heard a siren and saw an ambulance wiz past on the main road and pull into the boatyard,

  Paramedics got out and were met by some people from the boat yard, Tom noticed a policeman watching him, “sir you must wait in the office for the time being until things get sorted out” the police man exclaimed, “am I under arrest of something” Tom asked?

  “No sir you are not, but you have to wait until you are further interviewed by a senior officer, it’s protocol, procedure and stuff, all will be fine” thee young policeman told him,

  Tom watched the paramedics get onto a boat and off they went down the river,
