He paused in the middle of his kitchen and burst out laughing as he shimmied his narrow hips. He caught his reflection in the stainless steel oven door.

I am hairy as fuck… Jesus.

Black hair on his chest, thighs, legs, ass.

He grinned, feeling giddy. Glancing at the time, he raced back to his bedroom, his cock beating against his leg, and threw on some cream boxers, khaki pants, a black shirt, and a pair of Adidas sneakers. In minutes, he headed out the door. As soon as he got into his BMW, he selected ‘Riptide’ by Vance Joy on his car stereo.

  No worries…

His cheeks plumped as he figured out why he couldn’t stop grinning.

It wasn’t just the music. It wasn’t the flawless shave or invigorating shower.

  It was her.

The kids’ doctor, the one with the pretty, wavy brown hair, freckles, femininity pouring out the wazoo and the mystical, mysterious ways she moved and spoke…

He journeyed to work, bopping about to song after song, and even if he’d tried, he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face…

Sahara crouched down to the little girl’s level and wrapped her arms around her small frame. She was so pretty with bamboo colored skin and vivid strawberry birthmarks that rested against her plump cheek like beatific kisses from the past that refused to relinquish their heavenly throne. Angelica was a gorgeous three-year-old with vibrant tangerine hair and large, icy blue eyes. She suffered from an array of dermatological issues, most of which could be addressed rather simply.

“She’ll be fine. Won’t you, pretty baby?” She smiled big at Angelica, who smiled right back.

“Thank you, Dr. Delaney.” The girl’s mother beamed as she placed her hand upon her daughter’s shoulder. “So, the ointment is covered by insurance?”

Sahara got back to her feet and sighed. A bolt of pain radiated from her calf to her ankle. It didn’t slide like a snake strangling the muscle—more like a knife had sliced into her flesh, then a heated, hot poker opening up an old wound and spilling out her past, present, and future pain. She smiled through it, almost biting her tongue to keep that still expression of appeasement, but the burning was growing more intense.

  God, help me!

“Uh, I’m not certain because it depends on your specific insurance but in my experience, most insurance policies will cover it. To make sure, just ask for Becky at the front desk and she can check on it for you. If for some odd reason it isn’t covered, or you have to pay more than $5.00 out of pocket, I will arrange for you to receive the generic.” The woman nodded in understanding. “Remember to use it twice a day for two weeks and then after that, as needed. She’ll be good as new.”

She sighed with relief once the pain diminished. Reaching out, she twirled one of the pretty curls atop the child’s head.

“I will. I’ll pick up the prescription as soon as we leave from here. All right, Angelica, are you ready, honey?” The girl bopped up and down happily in her bright blue and pink shiny Mary Jane shoes.

“Oh, before you go, Angelica, you need to pick a toy from the basket!” Sahara walked over to a cabinet in the examining room and pulled out a large white plastic bowl chock full of fidget spinners, carefully wrapped fruity candies, small plastic dolls, bouncy rubber balls, and little robots with big painted eyes and shiny buttons. The girl’s eyes grew impossibly larger as she dipped her pintsize hand into the bowl and retrieved a little gold and purple miniature teddy bear sporting a large green bow.

“Ahhh! Good choice! I didn’t even see Theodore the tiny teddy bear! He’s a friend of mine. I sure am going to miss you, Theodore, but I am certain Angelica will treat you very nicely!” Sahara teased as the two turned and began to walk away.

“Her name is Tammy!” the little girl corrected, causing her mother and Sahara to burst out laughing.

“Tammy it is. What a lovely name! Bye Mommy, Tammy, and Angelica!”

Sahara waved to them as they exited, then placed the bowl back into the cabinet. Pulling her phone out of her pocket, she checked the time. She hissed as another wave of pain hit her. Falling back onto the counter, she cursed under her breath. She hadn’t had any issues for days, but then she realized she’d been standing a lot lately, and she’d snuck in a few extra hours. Not to mention, she’d forgotten to take her supplements a few times, too.

“Damn it! I brought this on myself!”

After giving herself a stern warning, she marched out of the examination room and entered her office. Pulling out her purse, she immediately popped a few turmeric pills in her mouth and chased them with an entire bottle of water, some of it dribbling down her chin. Swiping away at her face, she patted herself dry. She looked at the time on her computer—five patients were on the docket for that day. The school season had begun and she was busy as hell. She couldn’t take any days off or shorten her hours, regardless of her new doctor’s orders. No matter how damn sexy he was… These children needed shots and updated records, including the last-minute stragglers.

She was snatched out of her deliberations by the loud cry of a baby waiting out in the lobby.

Probably my next appointment. The three month old baby boy has a fever…

As she made to leave the room, her cellphone buzzed. She looked down at it and saw a new text message.

Vangelis: I can’t wait to see you tonight.

Her lips curled upward before she slipped her phone back into her pocket and entered the stream of worried and anxious children. He helped her smile through the pain.

A pain that at times had little to do with her damn leg…

“This was delicious.” He leaned back in his seat in her candlelit kitchen. It was rather dark in there, but he could still see his plate and her gorgeous face. He regarded his plate, there was nothing left. It was like nothing he’d ever tasted before. He found it pleasing to the palate, the flavors of the rice and seafood blending perfectly together.

“Thank you. Glad you like it.” She smiled as she cocked her head to the side and flirted with her piece of swordfish, not eating much.

“I’m going to try and not put my doctor hat on tonight, but it’s hard not to.” He shoved his now empty plate out of the way, then picked up his glass of white wine and took a small sip. “What’s going on, Sahara?”

“What do you mean? Nothing.” She grinned at him. It was almost convincing.

“That’s not true, baby.” Her eyes widened at his words. He was a bit surprised he’d said them, too. Terms of endearment… hmmm, interesting. “I know when people are keeping secrets from me.”

“Oh, do you?” She bit into her lower lip in a flirty sort of way. “So, what’s this? Like a built-in truth detector? Did they teach you that at Stanford?”

“No.” He picked up his wine glass again and looked down into it, swishing the liquid slowly back and forth as the smooth jazz played. “I just know when someone is trying to deceive me. I expected more from you… better from you…”

Her smile slowly faded. They stared at one another in the silence. The music kept playing, the tension was thick… his dick was hard, his disappointment strong…

He reached over, gripped her by the back of her neck and pulled her close, pressing his lips to hers.

“Why won’t you let me help you?” He mumbled before running his fingers through her curls, dragging her closer and propping her on his lap. “Don’t do that to me… don’t lie to me.” When he forced her face towards him, her eyes brimmed with tears. He kissed her again, this time more deeply as he hugged her tight. She laid her head against his chest, her breaths slow and heavy.

“My leg hurts. You told me to stop standing so much. I have not been taking your advice. I have to work, Vangelis. I have to stand… I need my legs to just… work!” She visibly stifled the anger as she closed her eyes.

“Since you feel that you have to disobey my orders, let me massage your leg for you. That’ll help with the stress you’re putting it under.” She hesitated for a spell, then got to
her feet. “Okay. I can lie down on the couch or my bedroom, I suppose.”

He shrugged. “Wherever you’re most comfortable.” She took his hand and he followed her down a long hall. When she opened the door, he saw an array of wooden African masks on the walls, along with intricate tapestries and fabrics. A bit much, perhaps; all the various colors and some of the masks were rather alarming, but he found it interesting all the same.

“Do you mind if I put on some music and light some candles? I do this at the office for massages, too. It helps, I believe.”

“Uh, no, that’s fine.” She proceeded to go to a tall closet and take out two white candles in a glass container. She handed him a lighter as well but then he noticed a pack of incense.

“Um, can I get an incense stick, too? I just happened to see it.”

“You’re quite observant I see. I have no idea how you noticed that way back there.” She shook her head.

I notice a lot of things… like how you’ve changed your hair tonight, and painted your nails a different shade of red…

He took the stick from her grasp and lit it, shoving it in the wax of the candle, right alongside the wick.

  “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” He lit the candles as well and set them on a desk in her bedroom. He then removed his phone from his pocket and started a playlist he used when he just wanted to chill and relax.

‘Cherry’ by Jungle began to play.

She stood there rubbing her arms as if she were chilly.

“Sahara, I want to wash my hands since I just finished eating. Why don’t you undress down to your underwear? You can put a robe on if it’ll make you feel more comfortable. I need a few more things, too.” He clasped his hands together and looked about as she began to disrobe.

  “Like what?”

“An ointment… do you have any almond oil? Actually, almost any massage oil will do.”

“No, unfortunately not.” He couldn’t help but look at her breasts, the dark nipples partially visible beneath the black lace.

“I can use the olive oil from your kitchen then. I’ll wash my hands in there, too.”

“But you may not know where it is, Vangelis!” she called out as he hightailed it.

“I’ll find it!” He shot his arm in the air and left the room. After washing and drying his hands, he looked inside various cabinets and finally found her EVOO. When he returned to her, she was lying on her stomach, the music still playing, the candles burning.

“Do you mind if I remove my shirt?” He didn’t miss the smile on her face. Her eyes were closed and her head turned to the side as she rested her face against her folded arms.

“What are you up to, Vangelis? I think we both know. Shame on you.” She lazily chuckled. He reached for the buttons of his shirt that he’d changed into right after he returned from work and taken another shower before their date.

“I’m not up to anything. I’m telling you the truth.”

He wasn’t certain she was buying it or not, but he meant what he said. This was no ploy to fuck the woman, to get between her legs and have his way with her. Regardless, he was convinced it looked pretty damning, so how could he argue with her? He cast his shirt at the end of the bed and opened the bottle of oil. Pouring a bit between his palms, he rubbed them together, warming it up. Then, he sat down beside her, slowly lifted her leg, and stretched it several times, as slowly and gently as possible. Moments later, he worked his fingertips into the taut, practically flawless brown flesh. Her rounded ass peeked out from beneath the panties, the cheeks glistening as if they’d been freshly oiled down with baby oil.

Cleo Sol crooned, ‘Why Don’t You.’

“I’m amazed at your musical tastes. What a surprise. Wow,” she slurred, eyes still closed as he massaged her tender skin. “It’s got a nice vibe… We like the same music.”

“Why do you find that surprising?” He poured a bit more oil into his palms.

“Because you just don’t seem to be the type that’s into Neo-soul and futuristic fusion vibe type music. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love that you are. it’s just unexpected. Pleasantly unanticipated.”

“I like whatever my soul likes… whatever my heart likes… whatever my mind likes.” He resituated himself, getting a closer look at the flaws, dips, and perfections of her form. Pausing briefly, he took a deep breath.

Sometimes these things happen… but now isn’t the time… he said to his cock, trying to convince the damn thing that it didn’t have the right to be horny.

Fucking her is not helping her. I said I wanted to help her, so calm the hell down…

“Have you heard… oh damn… that feels good, Vangelis… wow, you’ve got the magic touch.” He watched her stretch. The limbs and muscles relaxed, stiffened, and relaxed again. Her toes curled as his fingertips made love to her calves.

“Good… it’s supposed to feel good. Your body is responding. Now, what were you saying? You asked, ‘Have I heard’ something?”

“I love Ibeyi… It’s two sisters, twins exactly. They’re a singing group. Have you heard their song, ‘River’?”

  “No… I haven’t heard of it, or at least I don’t believe I have.”

She wiggled about, sat up, and made her way to a small stereo, her movements fluid, her breasts spilling out of her bra, one a bit more than the other. So perfect…

She bent low, her ass now in full view. It was no use—his dick wanted her and he was done fighting it. He looked down at his pants; the damn things now tented worse than before. Getting to his feet, he grabbed his phone and paused his playlist, then returned to sitting on the side of the bed.

“They are two women whose music is just… let me just let you hear this. Yoruba…”

“Yoruba? I was just reading about Yoruba this morning. How crazy is that?” He laughed, genuinely impressed and surprised. What were the chances of that?

“You amaze me…” She started the music and he immediately fell into the vibe.

  “Wow, that’s nice.”

She lay back down and he took her leg into his grasp once again, this time applying a bit more pressure.

  “I told you.”

“Yes… you did… your legs are beautiful, you know that?” He loved the scars, too…

He bent down and kissed her calf, then the other. She trembled from his touch. As he ran his hands up and down her flesh, carnal sins were born, black and white thoughts made of spent blood and bursting energy, dancing with the devils of lust…

Time went backwards and the lights from the candles flickered, illuminating the source of his cravings. His soul was moving about the room, detached from his body. He looked at her bare back, the bra strap secure…

The dimples against her lower back drew his eye then, one of his favorite parts of the womanly form…

The song ended and he immediately grabbed his phone and selected, “Something in the Way” by Jorja Smith.

“Ohhh, I see you are tryna have a song battle with me!” She chuckled.

“Of course. My playlist is better than yours. Just watch.”

“All right, you get some points… a couple… maybe three,” she teased. He smiled at her words as he caressed her. He couldn’t help himself; she was so beautiful, he needed to touch her. He kissed her spine and her smile slowly faded… He ran his hands along her back, massaging the kinks, working her into a relaxed frenzy. Touching only her thighs and calves was no longer good enough…

Minutes added up, turning into an hour. It wasn’t long before the beauty was sound asleep. After a while, he got up and went to the bathroom. Flipping on the light, he closed the door slowly behind him. Unknown Mortal Orchestra performed ‘Hunnybee’ at that moment. He sniffed her lavender soap before using it. When he was finished, he dried off his hands with a white towel. He stepped back out.

“Shit…” His dick twitched. There she sat, her panties off, her bra cast to the floor. He cocked his head to the side and studied her from various angles
as if to ensure he wasn’t imagining or dreaming this shit… Two large, rounded breasts hung there, calling to him…

He wanted to taste her flesh, engulf her sweet nipples that sat so pretty in the middle of her titties, then lick her pussy nice and slow…

“Do you want to make love to me, Vangelis?”

She was sitting on the edge of the bed, her thighs crossed so sweetly, hiding the garden, the glorious honey pot he longed for between her legs. Reaching for his belt, he undid it and soon, the zipper of his pants came down, too. Moments later, he stood nude before her, his cock pointing directly at her as he rubbed his palms together in anticipation. He wanted her like he’d never wanted a woman before. Stepping close to her, he placed his hand on her shoulder, letting his hard cock bob in her face. His hunger for her built in an almost painful way, leaving him famished…

“I have sixty-nine ways to show you how much I want to make love to you, Sahara. This may take a while. I take my time in everything I do, so let’s start with number one while the night is still young…”

  CHAPTER SEVEN

When in Doubt, Fuck a Professional…

While Kwaye crooned, ‘Lost in My Boots’, Vangelis ran his fingers through Sahara’s hair. Standing there, looking down at her sent sensations through him he hadn’t felt in quite some time. She slowly reached for him, but he pressed his palm against her shoulder blade, forcing her back onto the bed.

“I want to please you first…”

Her eyes hooded, lips parted as she watched him crawl up her body like a panther. With a slow hand, he caressed her breasts. Moving his fingers to the beat of the sensual music, he observed her chest rising and falling, her stomach caving as she breathed in, then out.

“I want to taste you all over… leave not one inch of you unserved and unfulfilled.” Lowering himself down, he layered her neck with kisses. “I like the texture of your hair… soft, curly… different… unique.”

She smiled as he gleamed at her, inhaling her sweet scent.
