Loved By The Alpha Leader

There weren’t any words exchanged as Paxton leaped toward Maddox. Their second duel wouldn’t be in the confined space of the alleyway behind the shop but in the forest. Unfortunately for Maddox, this was Paxton’s territory and it didn’t take long before the entire pack was there.
Derek and Lorna were ready to change to join in the fight when Cameron stopped them, “He has to do this alone. Cara! Get the human out of there.”
“Why me?!” she snapped showing her fangs.
Cameron snarled at her, “Because I told you to do so!”
Paxton couldn’t be bothered with anything else as he fought Maddox tooth to tooth, claw to claw. He wouldn’t let him get the upper hand this time, as he sprung himself off the ground into the brown wolf’s side. Maddox curved toward Paxton, snapping his jaws at him, preventing him from doing any more damage. Rolling over, Maddox shook away his disorientation from the hit. Snarling with frustration, he reset himself to attack Paxton again.
Paxton’s ferocious bite was quicker than Maddox anticipated as the black wolf’s teeth sliced into him while he tried his best to charge his hind legs. It was hard to tell what was going on from outside the fray, but Paxton knew what he was doing. Taking a step back, he circled Maddox constantly before ramming into him over and over again. Maddox was growing tired as his movements slowed, but still his strength remained as he finally caught a clean shot of Paxton’s arm. The same one he wounded the other night. Sinking his teeth into Paxton’s flesh, he reopened the scarred area causing him to cry out in pain.
Paxton was taken aback by the treacherous bite, but he wouldn’t be defeated. It only took one bite to the back of Maddox’s neck to get the brown wolf to let go. Once his arm was free, Paxton pounced on him, pinning him to the ground. He didn’t waste any time, locking his jaw around his throat and jamming his claws into the underside of his shoulder.
Maddox whimpered as he changed out of his wolf. Paxton refused to change back until Maddox knew and understood he was not to be tried again.
“Kill him,” Cara whispered maniacally, almost forgetting that her job was to get London to safety.
Maddox laid there on the ground, still with Paxton’s teeth buried into his flesh, unable to talk and if he moved, the bite would surely kill him. It wasn’t until Paxton felt the hand of his brother on his own shoulder that he released his grip and removed his claws from the rogue wolf’s body.
Changing back, Paxton stood there in nothing but his shorts, drenched in sweat and blood. He had a few scratches, but nothing as serious as the night before. Pushing his hair out of his face, he refused to shift his gaze anywhere else.
“Who are you and what are you doing here?” Paxton snarled wiping the blood off his lip.
Maddox pulled himself up to his hands and knees. His wounds were healing, but nowhere nearly as fast as they were supposed to. Paxton bit him that way purposely. The brown wolf made an attempt to be feeble, but his sinister ego would barely let him do that, “I am but a lowly ancestor entitled to this land. Maddox Grey, your Highness.”
Paxton was familiar with the surname but he didn’t appreciate the jovial and careless nature of the wolf, “You’re playing a dangerous game with me, Grey. This was your last time. Leave Myre Falls. If I catch you back here, I will kill you.”
Paxton turned his back, immediately turning his attention to London. She was sitting quietly on the ground, hiding behind Cara. Walking over to her, she held her breath, but as he bent down to stare her in the eyes, she relaxed.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?” he asked her looking over her body for any open cuts or gashes.
She nodded, “I’m fine. What about you? Your arm healed pretty quickly.”
“That tends to happen,” he snickered, “We have a lot to talk about.”
“You have nothing to talk about,” Lorna snapped, “She needs to be killed. If the rest of the town finds out what happened here, we’re all doomed!”
“No, I promise I won’t say anything!” London screeched.
“I’ll do the honors, if you don’t have it in you Paxton,” Cara volunteered.
Cairo pushed Cara away from London and Derek jumped in between them.
“You see brother,” Cameron sighed, “I told you this would happen. You cannot let some human come before your pack.”
“I AM YOUR ALPHA!” Paxton bellowed, his voice echoed through the forest forcing all of them to drop down, their knees and bellies to the ground, and their heads bowed. He scooped London into his arms, helping her to her feet, and staring deep into her eyes he told her, “I have to do this, to protect you, to let them know you are to be protected, untouched. I need you to trust me.”

The searing pain of Paxton’s claws sliding slowly across her clavicle, over her shoulder, just above her shoulder blade caused London to shake and tremble. Her mind shut off to everything and everyone around her as Paxton stared at her; the hurt in his eyes for the pain he was causing her was enough for her to try and stay awake. He kissed her gently before moving his mouth and tongue to lick the area he just marked.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” Cara cried out.
“I am doing what is in the best interest of us all. You would need to be in my head to see the vision I have, but trust me, as your alpha, I know this is right,” Paxton told them all. Those were the last words London heard before passing out.
When she awoke, the first thing she reached for was her left shoulder. It was sore but there was no open wound, there was no open gash, she could barely feel the raised flesh of the scar tissue that formed. She stared down at her arms wondering if she was going to turn into one of them. Hopping out of the bed, she ran to the nearest doorway. Thankfully it was a bathroom.
London’s already slender frame looked slimmer but fit. The faint white lines of where Paxton marked her didn’t scare her but made her wonder about what happened. Answers would come soon enough as she walked back into the bedroom.
It was the most beautiful room she’d ever seen. Built into the mountainside and high above the ground, the room’s 20-foot wall was made entirely of glass, that circled from the rock of the mountain itself around the entire side of the house. Tree tops and the forest floor, some hundred feet down, came into the magnificent view, the rest was purely sky and mountain caps. Rich hardwood floors were warm under her feet. There was a robe and slippers laid out for her that she didn’t hesitate to put on.
London felt a bit woozy as she explored the cliffside glass cabin. Only the bedroom was protruding out of the mountain, the rest of the home was nestled deep inside the bedrock. Still well lit, she walked down a long hallway past two locked doors into the open area of the kitchen and living room space. Paxton was there talking with Cameron, and to her surprise he didn’t look like he was ready to tear her head off.
“I’ll leave you two to talk,” he said making his way out the door. The large steel door opened and shut silently. They could see him walking by as the glass wall entered and ended in the rock, leaving a small walkway in front of the door.
“Can he see us if he comes back this way?” London asked cocking her head to the side. It didn’t even faze her when Cameron leaped and changed into his ash gray wolf to race down the mountainside.
“It’s all reflective glass on the outside. No one can see in, but we can see out,” Paxton told her. He handed her a cup with an orange liquid inside of it.
“What is this? Some magical elixir to help finish my change into a werewolf?” she chuckled.
Paxton couldn’t help but laugh, “No, that’s what we like to call juice, orange to be exact. Besides, from what I know, no one’s been turned. You’re either born with it or you’re not. Sorry love, you’re stuck with that bag of bones you call a body.”
London tried her best to keep the mood light, but the questions were firing off in her head. She couldn’t help but let some of them off, “Where are we, Paxton? What’s going on? How long have I been here? What happened
to Maddox and what the hell is Cara? Yeah, I think that’s what he called her, what the hell is Cara’s problem?”
“I’m glad that you’re up and ready to take in everything but I need to do something first,” Paxton’s grin wasn’t subtle. It was downright seductive as he pulled London into him. His soft lips moved over hers swiftly, with vigor and fire. London received him and his tongue graciously allowing his hands to travel the lengths of her body.
“Not on the counter,” she breathed heavily pulling away from him. It wasn’t the answer to her questions, but it was something they needed to get out of the way.
Paxton smiled and nodded, picking her up and wrapping her legs around his waist. There was nothing but the thin fabric of his boxers to sheath the hardness of his cock under her. By the time they reached the bedroom, there was not a sliver of cloth between them as the moment they’d both fantasized about was finally coming true.
Paxton took his time, kissing her tenderly, making certain that he tasted every inch of her body. Spreading her legs, he lapped at her soft center of flesh, licking, kissing and suckling at her clit until she was writhing uncontrollably from bliss. Her first orgasm from him relieved her. Waves of pleasure crashed over London as she let Paxton have his way. He was so tender and patient as he touched and teased her effortlessly.
It wasn’t until she felt the massive thickness of every single inch pushing at her walls, slowly filling her, that she realized how long it had been since she was intimate. Terry was an afterthought as she opened herself up to the possibility of loving someone else. She shut her mind off and let her heart and body enjoy the experience.
Every stroke was deliberate, smooth, telling. Letting her know why he was the alpha in every way was reassuring to them both that Paxton knew what he was doing when he marked her, and now… mated with her. Their scents, spirits, would forever be intertwined from that day on and Paxton was ready to face the consequences of his actions. With every stroke, he hoped and wished that London was too, but something about her told him that she was.
London felt closer to Paxton with every push, pull, and thrust of himself inside of her. She arched her back, giving him even more room to dig deeper even though it caused the slightest bit of pain, but she relished in the pleasure of their connection. Her life was becoming full of memories of things she wouldn’t normally do, and somehow this moment with Paxton made her feel like it would be forever. Letting go, she gave herself into him fully. Nothing else mattered as they moved together, their bodies connected in so many more ways than just the physical.
When Paxton began to speed up his movements, she knew his climax was near, but he pulled out abruptly. Bending down, practically growling in her ear, he nibbled softly on her earlobe, “Enough! Turn over.”
London could swear she orgasmed off of his commanding tone alone as she did as she was told. Turning onto her stomach, Paxton wrapped his arm around her waist, forcefully bringing her up onto her hands and knees. She felt the slightest touch of his hand grazing her cheek, right before he slapped it. The sting was brief, but what it did was distract her from his girth pushing into her, quickly, without warning. London arched all the way up, gasping with his entry until her back was against his chest.
He kissed her tenderly as he moved up and down, in and out. He pulled away from their tongues touching, pushing her back down. With one hand on the small of her back and the other gripping her hair he tugged and fucked her. The only sounds to be heard were their own grunts and moans of satisfaction combined with the loud clapping of London’s ass against his lap. They went on and on for hours until finally they came.
Relief and ecstasy swallowed them as they lay in each other’s arms while the sun set against the mountain range. London hadn’t any idea what was next. She still hadn’t gotten the answers she was looking for. This was the only thing that she didn’t question. It felt too right. He saved her time and time again. Giving her body to someone she felt she could have loved for a thousand lifetimes was emotionally gratifying. However, looking at the storm clouds rolling in over Myre Falls left her with the sense that whatever was going on with Paxton, his clan, and her grandfather’s town… it was all far from over.
Epilogue
London woke up alone, in a cold sweat, after nightmares of Maddox Grey robbed her of getting any more sleep. She reached out for Paxton but he wasn’t there. He wasn’t in the bathroom either. It wasn’t until she heard voices, that she got out of bed to track him down.
Hazy and half awake, London snapped into full alertness when she realized she stumbled onto a conversation she wasn’t supposed to be listening to. Hanging back as far as she could, she heard Cameron shouting, “I can’t believe you mated with her! Without telling her everything! Paxton, you’re a fool! If she leaves you, that’s it! No other wolf will let you near them with her stench. You will die alone! No pups, no lineage, nothing!”
“So now you want us to have babies?” Paxton joked.
“NO! Father would take both your jugulars and hang them on his tree. This isn’t funny, Paxton. You have so much faith in things that haven’t happened. You do not know her! This could destroy everything we’ve worked for. Cara is gone, too!”
“So go find her,” he told him simply, “You want Cara, go after her. She’s a bit upset with what’s going on, but she’ll get over it. I tell you this, she’ll get over it a lot faster if she had someone to get over it with.”
“Don’t do that. Our mutual hatred for humans doesn’t mean she’ll want me. We’ve talked about this.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, all she wants is an alpha, blah, blah, blah. She’ll get it if you take over the pack. Speaking of which, have Cairo and Fang gotten back yet? I feel like a King trapped in the castle without them here and how are Derek and Lorna holding up patrols?”
Cameron sighed, “They’re not back yet. Last I heard from them was a few nights back. They’ve been tracking Maddox for miles now. They’re almost positive he won’t be returning, but we won’t know anything for sure until we see them. Derek and Lorna are operating as usual. Lorna has the town, I have the perimeter and Derek’s taken the interior. We really need to consider growing the pack. That’s what I want to do as an alpha, grow my own pack.”
“Then you should do it because if I get exiled over this I won’t be around much,” Paxton chuckled.
“Please don’t joke like that. I may not understand what you’re doing, but I wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to you. So if that means protecting her, then so be it. And you’re sure she will understand the responsibilities of our legacy, and our secrecy?”
“I want to say yes, but that conversation is coming soon.”
“Yes, it needs to happen sooner rather than later, Paxton. You can’t sex the woman into complacency. Eventually, she’s going to wonder why you won’t let her leave this castle in the sky, and when she finds out, you’ll be lucky if all she does is leave you. If I were her, I’d kill you myself…”
