I thoroughly enjoyed writing Warring Desires and want to thank those who helped make the book the best it could be. But before I do that I want to praise my cover artist Dar Albert for the new look she created for the book covers. I love the romantic feel and the rich, dark color scheme. Dar’s design captured the essence of the books. I couldn’t be more thrilled with my new covers.

Nina Pierce at Seaside Publications did beautiful work formatting the print book. And a big thanks goes to Nina for suggesting the title of the book. I wanted to go in a new direction, but my mind was stuck. Nina came up with a helpful list of great choices that I have filed for future use. We both thought Warring Desires was the perfect title for this book. Nina also helped with the book description/blurb and taught me how to format my eBooks. Big hugs, Nina! You are one of the most generous people I know.

As always, working with editor Faith Freewoman was a privilege. Faith added her expertise and eye for detail to help the chapters and story to shine. I especially enjoyed collaborating with Faith on my new covers, which we both love. Thanks to Faith for the help she provided polishing the blurb.

One of the highlights that came with writing this book was working with my new critique partner Heather Meehan. After first connecting over our shared love of love stories, we spent many fun hours talking about writing and sharing ideas and attending writing conferences. Heather’s input into this book was invaluable. She asked insightful questions, pointed out instances where my heroes should act more heroic, and helped ensure Warring Desirers made sense as a stand-alone book. And when I got carried away with the battles and history she reminded me to add more emotion and romance to my romance. It was a privilege and joy to work together as critique partners, Heather.

Special thanks to beta reader Megan Macijauskas for the terrific feedback on my characters and stories. I especially appreciated Meg helping me cut the fat from my scenes when I am tempted to go on too long or have already made my point. Thank you, Megan, for challenging me to push deeper.

Hugs and thanks to my proofreader Wendy Thomas for her thorough work. Wendy has a great eye for catching the little mistakes and inconsistencies that get through the edits. Thank you, Wendy, for agreeing to be my official proofreader and taking on a deadline at the crunch time of publication.

  ~ About the Author ~

Wanda Ann Thomas writes fast-paced historical romance centered on heart-felt love stories. She adores warrior heroes and courageous heroines, who together brave any danger for loved ones and struggle against overwhelming obstacles to win their happy ever after.

Building stories based in the ancient world, Wanda’s interest in first century history was sparked by reading the works of the Jewish historian, Josephus. The inspiration for The HEROD CHRONICLES came about while doing research for another project and she discovered the particulars of Herod the Great's career. Herod was a fascinating, complicated man who left behind a lasting legacy on the advent one of the great turning points in history.

A native of the state of Maine, Wanda starts each day bright and early at her computer drinking coffee and writing. When the weather allows she and her husband average three to four rounds of golf a week. She confesses to being overly fond of chocolate chips cookies, winter vacations spent in sunny Florida, and her large boisterous family.
