He caught her looking at him and smiled. She blushed, but knew her dark skin would hide it, so she stared boldly back with a smile of her own.
“Well, Mrs. Sullivan?” Tate pulled Melanie into his arms. “Our guests await.”
She kissed him. “Let them wait.”
“Why?”
“Because I love you,” she whispered against his lips.
“Okayyyy, that’s my cue to go,” Jin said, pulling her gaze from Mr. Cowboy. “Besides, who knows what Bernard and his wife are doing with my equipment?”
Tate and Melanie laughed. “You’d better hurry,” Melanie said.
Jin took one last look at Liam and wondered what his last name was. Eh, what did it matter? She’d probably never see him again. “Yes, I’d better. And you two need to at least get through your own reception. Then you can get a room.”
Tate and Melanie laughed and, along with Jin, started off. But not before all three noticed Douglas Haeger offer Samantha Sullivan his arm. Yes, Jin mused, it looked like Cassandra’s one moment of altruism had started a lot of things moving.
