A Witches Proposition

“Shush, listen. I hear voices.” Silver observed.
They continued walking with their backs against the wall, remaining in the shadows as they followed the sound of voices. Silver could see the two sentries on guard outside the room in which the voices were coming from. Silver, Alivia and Grace were close enough to dispose of the guards without alerting the men arguing in the room.
Silver gave Alivia the signal to take out the guard to her right on the count of three. Once she was sure Alivia understood, Silver placed her hand in the air and began the count down. When she got to three, both men crumbled to the floor. They waited a few seconds to make sure the sound of their collapse went unnoticed. Silver then waved Alivia and her aunt forward, as they moved into their new position outside the doorway of the room.
Grace moved one of the guards against the wall in a darkened corner. With a wiggle of her fingers she tied his legs and hands. To make sure he remained silent she gagged him. The other guard was obviously dead from a broken neck was placed nearby.
Silver recognized Axel’s voice as one of the angry men. Axel was undeniably pissed as he shouted at the other man. Silver wondered where the hell Maverick was.
“There is no way in hell you can explain this sinister plot as justified. You’ve created nothing, nothing but sorrow and chaos.” Axel shouted in a tone so unnerving chill bumps ran up Silver’s arms.
“How about my sorrows, Axel?” Cy shouted in return.
“What fucking sorrow, and what the hell does it have to do with this bullshit?”
Silver took note of Cy’s voice changing to a high whining pitch as he began to tell his story to Axel, she was ready to burst into the room when the next few words stopped her dead in her tracks.
“When that evil ass Mason Webber tricked me into relinquishing my powers, it nearly destroyed me. It took years, fucking years before I could perform the simplest spell!” he shouted.
“That was your foolishness and greed, Cyrillus Jones. You proved to Mason how unfit you were to rule. You tried to steal and deceive him, and he beat you at your own game.”
“He lied, cheated and stole from me, my magic, my love, my children.”
“The love you refused to marry until you became rich. The children you left fatherless. The children you placed in danger with this goblet bullshit?”
“Aw come on Axel you were there to pick up the pieces, happily I may add.”
“That’s a lie. I loved Anna like a sister. She was my best friend!”
“You can tell me anything you want Axel, the truth is I don’t care, all I want is the goblet.”
Silver and Alivia looked at one another, confirming they both heard the conversation correctly.
Without warning Grace brushed past the girls running into the room and without stopping she hit Cy in the chest with a blast that sent him sailing across the room, landing on his ass.
“You low down motherfucker,” she screamed. Grace was prepared to strike again but this time Cy was ready. Deflecting the strike and countering on his own slamming Grace against the wall, then turning to Axel he placed irons on his wrist. The irons were weighted preventing Axel from raising his hands.
“I will spare all of your lives, if you turn over the goblet. You need to decide quickly, the poison your two friends have soaring through their bloodstream will reach their hearts, fairly soon.”
Silver and Alivia both rushed into the room neither sure which men Cy was referring to. The moment Alivia and Silver entered the room they froze, drowning in their own thoughts of the men they love and the father they thought lost forever.
Silver had prayed countless times for her father’s safety and return. She longed to meet the man her mother loved and adored, for she had no memory of him at all. She would dream of the man who helped create her. However, after hearing the vile and evil things he spoke of, she just felt betrayed, abandoned and idiotic.
Alivia never believed she’d come face to face with her father and never gave him or their relationship much thought, in fact she had convinced herself that he was dead and that is why he never returned. But knowing he was responsible for her kidnapping all she could think of was murder. His…
“You’re my father?” Was all Silver could manage to say, looking at the tall man with raven black hair like her own. His eyes were her eyes and his lips her lips but not his heart. She heard the sound of chains and looked in the far corner to see Maverick and Dominick chained. Maverick struggled against the chains, but his movements were short and weak. Dominick’s chin fell upon his chest. He was alive and that was all that mattered.
“Your father? I assume so at least that is what I’ve been told. I can see in your eyes this is not a family reunion,” Cy said with attitude.
“No, motherfucker it’s not!” Alivia shouted before she used her magic to strangle Cy.
“Kill me and they die.” He choked out.
Alivia had not noticed the two men in the corner until that moment. She reluctantly released Cy, running over to Dominick she tried to release him.
“I have the antidote, in exchange for the goblet. You have my word.”
“Your word isn’t worth shit.” Alivia grumbled.
“I have the goblet, but I swear on my mother’s grave that if you harm anyone in this room, I’ll kill your miserable sorry ass.” Silver hissed.
“Feisty!” he said to Silver. “You both are, that must have come from my side of the family.” Cy laughed.
“I didn’t inherit anything from you, you bastard.”
“Actually, she’s the even tempered one, it’s me you need to watch, I’ll love to remove your organs and feed them to the dogs.” Alivia warned.
“There will be no need for that, if I get what I want, you will never see me again.”
“Yes, because you are so honorable.” Alivia stated.
“Give me the goblet child.”
“Give me the antidote, and I’m no child.”
Cy was getting irritable and Silver sensed it. He was nothing to her, less than nothing. If he’d been a stranger she’d feel more compassion but knowing who he was made her hate him even the more. In the corner of her eye she watched Maverick struggle to raise his head, each time it dropped like that of an overused rag doll.
When Cy pulled the two vials from his pocket, Silver opened her empty hand and said, “Valous, tallakan, second tolack,” and the cup appeared in her hand. When Cy reached for it, she pulled her hand back.
“Not until I get the antidote.” She sneered.
“Isn’t there something you need to tell me first?” Cy asked.
Silver knew he was testing her, but she was smarter than he could ever be. “Yes, you must ask permission to receive the power.”
“Yes, that is what your asinine grandfather joyfully left out.” His eyes gleamed at the sight of the goblet, it was just the way he remembered it.
“Then he wasn’t so asinine after all.”
When Cy handed Silver the two vials, she immediately gave one to Alivia, who dashed over to Dominick.
“Now, please.” Cy asked with a fake smile.
“Not until I’m sure the antidote works.”
When Dominick’s color started to return Silver gave him the goblet, then ran over to Maverick, with her back facing Cy she held out her hand and muttered “valous, tallakan, original, tolack.” When the goblet materialized, she poured the antidote in it and whispered in Mavericks ear, “Ask the cup for its powers and drink from it.”
Silver could see Mavericks mouth moving when it stopped she placed the goblet to his lips. It didn’t take long before the contents were gone. She turned and looked at Cy who was practicing his magic.
“I don’t see anything different!” he shouted.
“Well you didn’t lose your powers, so I don’t know. This was in place long before I was born.” Silver replied.
“I do feel invigorated, powerful, yes, yes I feel something.” He shouted with glee.
An unexpected bello
w from Maverick took everyone by surprise. His movements were swift as he broke the chains that bound him. He straightened to his full height and started towards Cy, who took little time to assess the situation.
When Cy shot a power ball towards Maverick, Silver pushed him out-of-the-way placing a shield around the both of them. However, the force from Cy’s magic was so great it knocked her off her feet, sending her flying backwards. Maverick turned to make sure she was okay, when the second attack took place. Maverick with lightning speed, moved out of range, causing the energy bolt to blow a hole in the wall.
It was at that moment all witnessed a powerful beam of energy in the form of a yellowish orange light, released from Maverick’s eyes and mouth. The beam of light burnt through and incinerated Cy’s flesh and bones until all that remained were ashes.
Maverick fell against Silver knocking her off balance. In his weakened state he pointed to a chair that rested against the wall. His body trembled and sweat poured down the side of his face.
Silver using her magic brought the chair to them easing Maverick onto the seat gingerly. His skin felt hot and clammy she didn’t know if this was from the poison, the antidote or the magic cup, but something was wrong.
Alivia releasing Dominick came over to help Silver while Dominick proceeded to free Axel and Grace. They all stood behind Silver concerned for Maverick’s obvious condition and what they’d just witnessed.
“He’s extremely weak and his heart is racing.” Silver cried.
“Step back,” Dominick said as he hoisted Maverick over his shoulder. Turning to Silver he announced, “I’m taking him home and calling Dr. Dean, he’ll know what to do.” With two stomps of his feet he was gone.
Silver turned to the others and said, “Let’s go.”
CHAPTER TWELVE
Silver watched Maverick hold court. Granger, Alivia, Aunt Grace and Axel were present, for today was the trail of the redhead bitch. Alivia as well as Silver herself was hoping to testify against her.
Silver shook her head, so many things has taken place since the day of the redhead’s attack on her. The last seven days alone made her feel more understanding and forgiving. Maverick took four days to recover. He slept for two days and could barely walk the next. Even Dr. Dean was without answers. Since there is no record of anyone who may have used the goblet, Maverick decided to start his own journal recording different experiments and side effects.
Each day he was able to use more and more of his powers without weakening his body, but his mental peace became the trade-off.
Alivia approached Silver seeing her sister deep in thought made her leery about approaching her. Silver has been and rightfully so anxious to get the trial over and down with.
“I can read your mind sis. I too would like to put this to rest.”
Silver squeezing Alivia’s hand then lifting it to admire the beautiful engagement ring Dom gave her. She would have never image that in a short period both their lives would change so completely.
Silver smiled happy that not only did she and Alivia find great loves and strong men of The Watch but so did Aunt Grace, who told Axel after the scare she experienced wanted him to marry her. Without an argument he agreed.
Maverick grateful to Dom for being his right hand and protector, convinced Granger to give Dominick the open seat to the Nassau County Watch with the promise of being rewarded if still available in one year and if he does a good job during that time, the Suffolk County seat.
When the redhead entered the courtroom, she looked older than her years, her fiery red hair now a coppery brown, she looked thinner, and her skin pale with acne. No, she was not the same defiant bitch that attacked them. To be honest, Silver just wanted to forget the whole thing.
“How do you plead to the charges presented to this court?” Maverick’s eyes bore into those of the redhead.
Lowering her head briefly, then turning to Silver and Alivia, she inhaled deeply then exhaled the words, “I plead guilty.”
“Do you have anything you wish to say before your sentence?” Maverick asked as he sat stone faced.
“Wait! Look it’s true she did everything she has been charged with and most of it aimed at me, but nothing will come from punishing her.” Silver stated as she approached the redhead.
“I’m sure you did what you did for money and whatever else Cy promised you, however I feel deep down you might be a decent person.”
“I am, I truly am.” She cried, her sobs increasing, the sound echoing throughout the hall drew pity for the redheaded witch. Her uncontrollable crying and convulsing body gripped at Silvers heart.
“Fine, but she cannot be trusted.” Turning to the redhead he said, “until I have proof of your character you will remain a prisoner.” Maverick turned to Granger and asked, “Can I entrust her to you and your camp for, let’s say six months?”
Granger nodded in agreement. He stood to his full height and with a booming voice he announced, “You will not be a slave or a prisoner, but if any and I mean any issues concerning your past history arise I will without hesitation kill you, for I have no tolerance for renegade behavior and my word is law.”
The redhead dropped to her knees in submission, “Thank you, Lord Granger.”
With a tap of his cane, they were gone. Suddenly smoke appeared and formed the words, ‘Will see you soon, I love dramatic exits’.
Everyone began to laugh, all but Maverick. He remained with a stone face and a distant look in his eyes. Silver knew the powers he’d been trying to control was taking a toll on him. She didn’t know what to do. She tried to find a solution to the problem, but there was very little information to go on concerning the magic cup. Silver had been praying for a miracle and researching discreetly about the cups power. There wasn’t much she could do to help Maverick with his problem, but she could take his mind off of it.
Walking back to her throne chair she stopped and whispered in Mavericks ear. “I have a proposition for you,” she smiled.
“Can any good come from a witch’s proposition?”
“Yes, if the proposition is pleasing.”
“And what is this pleasing witch’s proposition you have for me.”
“I have a craving for you and an itch only you can scratch. Can you handle it? If so, you will receive a great gift in return.”
A wicked smile graced his face. “Witch!”
“Yes, let me show you my magic.”
“I have magic of my own.”
“Not like my magic.”
He laughed, for the first time in what seemed forever, he felt a sense of freedom as he looked into Silver’s dark, lust filled eyes. His dick hardened, and his pulse quickened at the thoughts of lying between her legs.
“Court is adjourned.” Maverick bellowed as he arose from his throne. Everyone slowly exited the chamber leaving the two of them alone. Maverick held his hand out for Silver. She placed her small hand in his, and he pulled her into his embrace, kissing her like a thirsty man receiving water.
When the kiss ended, Silver sat in Maverick’s seat. “Do you remember the first time you saw me I was fascinated with this chair.
This is the first place we made love,” she slowly began kicking off her shoes as she let her eyes flirt with Maverick.
Maverick knew where this was heading and with a snap of his fingers, he locked the doors, as he’d done before. He began to undress as Silver did the same, yet her disrobing was more seductive as she sat about teasing Maverick.
His extended member sent a shiver through her body, she wanted him like no other time before. He was hers and she was his. Silver reached out grabbing his rock-hard penis, her hand stroking him up and down. She bent down and licked the smooth head with her hot tongue before engulfing the member in her mouth, allowing his cock to touch the back of her throat. It had been days since they made love. It was time, it was definitely time. Silver felt as though she would explode. It was at that moment she realized she would die if anything ever happened to Maverick
.
Maverick could hear Silver’s thoughts and knew he too would die if anything happened to her. He’d been dealing with his new powers and unknowingly neglected his relationship with Silver. But this was a new chapter in their lives, and he planned on making the best of it, starting with a surprise wedding. After all, magic is what you make of it.
