“Like I said before, we should consider ourselves lucky that she isn’t more disturbed. Little things like avoiding dolls and not letting anyone else touch her can be mostly avoided. She was probably never held as a child. It’s even amazing that she lived.”

“But the good news is she isn’t pregnant,” Nanny commented.

“She can’t get pregnant. It won’t happen. Don’t worry about it, Nanny.” Daddy sounded so cold.

I went out the door and headed back to my classroom. They thought I was disturbed. Was he playing Daddy for me because he thought I needed it?

  I was so unsure.

I had that terrible tick with dolls, which wasn’t normal. I freaked out when someone touched me. I needed to hold Nanny’s or Daddy’s hand when lots of people were around, because I got scared like a small child would.

I was like a machine when someone started asking questions. I had to answer them. I couldn’t leave them unanswered.

According to Daddy, I went completely crazy once a month.

I wasn’t good at making friends either. I mostly lived in my own little world. And my handwriting was terrible. Chicken scratches.

They said handwriting said a lot about a person’s personality. Mine went up and down. It was always so hard for me to do. It was a crazy person’s handwriting. I hung my head.

I really should be thankful that Daddy and Nanny kept me even though there was so much wrong with me. I heard them in the hall. I sat down at my desk and looked through my books.

“There you are. Daddy was worried about you.” He came in and squatted down next to my desk.

“I wasn’t sure where to go, so I came in here.” I was really fighting against my tears.

“Of course, sweetheart, but it’s time for lunch. I want you to eat with me at the headmistress’ table.”

He held out his hand and I took it, and we went out to Nanny. She sighed relieved. “I found her at her desk studying.”

“Of course, I should have thought of that right away.” Nanny was talking to herself not to me. They really did worry about me.

Maybe they really did keep me locked in for my own safety. Maybe I was the bad guy.

I felt so guilty that Daddy had married me and not someone better. Before I’d felt that I was better than that girl who got a spanking in line, but I wasn’t.

Daddy would probably have preferred her to me, but it was too late he was already attached to me now.

  I’d behave really well.

I was very quiet after that.

Both Daddy and Nanny talked to me about that.

I was good otherwise so they couldn’t punish me, but they both felt that something was wrong with me.

I was constantly sad, but at the same time, I tried to hide it, and to act as normal as I could.

I wanted them to be happy with me.

  Chapter 14 – Valentine’s Day

This was going to be so perfect, Brian thought to himself. He could hardly wait to go. One of the other daddies had personally invited him to a retreat that they had every year. Only selected people were invited.

Brian had been immensely honored. He enjoyed the time he spent with the others. They had so much in common, more than just the fact that they preferred their women to be sweet and innocent. If they talked about their wives, they didn’t have to be careful that they didn’t say something wrong.

  They understood.

Brian needed to have that feeling. Especially after thinking that he hadn’t been of sound mind and body all of his life. His mind wasn’t attracted to cover girls and movie stars. His body didn’t respond to them either, but the sight of his little wife twirling in front of the mirror, smiling away, did him in.

She was so precious to him. He loved her more and more each day.

The retreat was at a large bed and breakfast. It was very remote. Their party would be the only guests there. They could be themselves the whole time.

Amelia could play with her friends, and Brian could talk to his. This was the perfect solution, satisfying both of their needs.

But when they wanted to be together, they could go to their room. They still needed to do that very often. They’d been married for eight months already, and still the fires were going. Both found it hard to believe that they could settle down to a simmer, like the others said would happen.

Their love was something special. Each accepted the other the way they were.

  ***

School was getting long and boring. Valentines Day was coming up which was considered a real holiday here. The school was shut down for the day.

Daddy had been grinning every time he saw me so I figured that he considered it to be a real holiday too.

We made handwritten cards at school. Mine looked like crap. I’d be embarrassed to give it to him.

I wondered what Daddy was planning. He really did seem to be up to something. There were just so many possibilities. It would be a surprise like everything else was for me.

Being allowed to take part in the normal world was fun and exciting, but at the same time I was really shy about it too. It was a chance for me to do everything wrong again.

I hope this day would live up to his expectations. His birthday just hadn’t. I still felt really guilty about that.

He was kissing me when he woke me. I stretched out long for him. His mouth latched onto my nipple, and my back arched up offering it to him.

“Happy Valentine’s Day, sweetheart.” He pulled me closer to him. His hand was getting me ready for him.

I was ready really quick. I was so thankful that he’d taken me in. This seemed to be the only thing I could give him, and I wanted this part of our marriage to be good. My legs fell open for him.

He moved in between them and entered me. He was taking me so forcibly. I was moaning and panting in pleasure. I screamed Daddy loudly, while he thrust into me again and again.

  Daddy kept right on going.

A minute later, I was screaming again.

He looked really pleased with himself, but then he needed to reach his climax, too. He took me even rougher than before. Daddy had me screaming out his name, yet again.

I clung to him afterwards. He rolled us so we were on our sides.

Daddy petted my face for a while as he smiled at me. He had a look to him that said that he was up to something.

“Come on let’s get dressed.” He rolled out of bed and held his hand out.

I went to his hand eager to please him, especially today.

He showered us, and then it was time to get me dressed again. He dressed me in the same outfit that I’d worn to the airport on our honeymoon.

I looked at him curiously, but he just smiled at me.

He dressed in one of his nicer suits.

We went down to breakfast, and Nanny was nowhere to be seen. It was just the two of us.

His butler brought in our plates and smiled too. Whatever Daddy had planned, he was also in on it.

I ate and glanced over at him a lot.

Daddy still had that silly grin on his face.

I smiled back at him. Whatever it was, he’d probably put a lot of thought into it. I really didn’t want to ruin it for him.

After breakfast he stood up and took my hand again. He pulled me to the house door.

I felt a little scared, not knowing what was about to happen, but I held my head up high and acted like this was no big deal. I went out of the house every day when I went to school. I didn’t have a phobia about this.

I was trying to convince myself.

He brought me out to his car. He was still grinning at me as he opened my car door.

  “Thank you, Daddy.”

“Your welcome, sweetheart.” He walked around the car and got in. He pulled out and drove down our long driveway.

  “Where are we going, Daddy?”

“That’s a surprise, sweetheart.” He was in such an incredibly good mood.

“Are we going to come home again today?”
>
  “Why?”

“I kind of made a gift for you at school. It isn’t anything special but – you know.” I shrugged my shoulders and turned to look out of the window.

“I’m sure whatever it’s, I’ll love it. You can give it to me when we get back home.” He was smiling. He probably figured that it was some kind of crap.

“Daddy, whatever – shall we say, your expectations are, please lower them. It isn’t fit to line a bird cage.”

Daddy threw his head back and laughed. “I promise, I’ll love it.”

“Then we’d have proof for the love is blind theory.”

Daddy continued to laugh. “I love you so much, Amelia, just the way you are.”

That surprised me. “Really?” I asked him.

He went stiff, his jaw clenched. He’d turned serious. His face went hard. He had his eyes glued to the road. He was saying nothing, but he turned off into a parking lot the first chance he got.

“How can you even think that?” He turned to me then.

I was scared, but I didn’t want to get punished for saying the wrong thing so I told him the truth. “I just figured that if you could change some things about me, you would, like my handwriting. I didn’t want to pick a fight, Daddy.”

“I know, sweetheart. It’s just that Daddy thinks you’re pretty perfect the way you are. I wish you thought that, too.” He started the car again and pulled back on the highway.

I felt a little ashamed of myself, but the conversation that I’d overheard between him and Nanny was just all too omnipresent in my mind.

I thought about it, twisting it this way and that.

Was he saying that I was screwed up, but he liked me that way? That’s what made the most sense.

He finally stopped the car at a bed and breakfast. He smiled over at me. Now this wasn’t something that you did with a little girl on Valentine’s Day. He parked in one of the snow plowed parking spots and hurried around to open my door.

I had to hold on to him very tightly so I wouldn’t slip. He carefully walked me up the porch steps and into the door.

There was a man smiling at us from his desk.

Daddy led us over and registered us.

The man seemed to be flabbergasted when Daddy said our name.

At first, he looked like he didn’t believe Daddy, who took that very well in stride, then I worried that his eyes would fall out when Daddy handed him his credit card, which was excepted right away.

Daddy even got out his drivers license and asked if the man needed that, too. He looked at it and then at Daddy, and then he shook his head, saying that he didn’t need it.

  This was all really funny.

I’d kind of gotten used to the name. The teachers called us out by our last names and then our first names during roll call. They’d done that the first couple of weeks at school until everyone knew who everyone was.

“Wait here, where it’s warm. I’ll get our bags.” Daddy hurried off.

“If you want, you can wait by the fireplace, Mrs. … ” He pointed the way, and I went over and sat down by the fireplace.

I thank him and warmed my hands there.

He smiled and went back to his desk. He was clearly curious about us.

Daddy came in with all of our bags; they must have been hidden in the trunk. It looked like we’d be here for a while. He must have taken time off of work again.

I was flattered that he wanted to spend that much time with me. I blushed and smiled at him.

“Come on, sweetheart, let’s go see our room.” He still looked so happy.

I rose up and went to him, walking slightly behind him because I couldn’t hold his hand.

Daddy looked over his shoulder constantly. Was he worried that I could get lost?

The man brought us to our room. Red roses were everywhere.

I walked in behind Daddy and turned around taking it all in. “Wow.”

  That had Daddy laughing again.

The man looked pleased that I was happy.

Daddy gave him a tip, and he took off. Daddy started right in unpacking, and I looked around.

I knew from our honeymoon that I shouldn’t ask him if I could help.

I peeked in the bathroom. It was filled with candles. Chocolate hearts wrapped in red foil were spread out here and there. Everything looked very romantic.

“Daddy, it’s so nice here. I love it. This makes that dumb card I made for you look even more crappy.” I smiled at him.

“Amelia, I’m glad that you really like our suite, but I still don’t want you to use words like that or put yourself or anything that you do or make down. Do you understand?” He stopped unpacking and looked right at me.

I wasn’t able to hold his stare. I looked down at my folded hands and nodded.

“Amelia, I don’t want to fight, but I really do want you to work on your self-esteem. We’ll talk about that here. Okay?”

  “Yes, Daddy.”

“Okay, go off and continue to play. Tell me what you all discover.” He was smiling again. I looked around and found a TV hidden in a cupboard. Certain kinds of movies were also in there. I closed the door and looked further. I found the mini bar.

“Can I have some water, Daddy?”

“Of course, sweetheart. Get one out for me too.”

I grabbed two plastic bottles and gave Daddy his. He opened it up and took a drink.

I was fighting with my lid and losing the battle.

Daddy set his down, and then he took mine from me. He smiled from ear to ear as he opened it for me. He gave it back to me still smiling at how cute he thought I was.

  “Thank you, Daddy.”

“Anytime, sweetheart.” He finished up unpacking, and then he finished his water. He searched for a place to put it. Daddy did so love proper order. He finally set it down on the desk far to the back where it wouldn’t be in the way.

I slowly sipped on mine and kept it in my hand.

  “So you’re surprised aren’t you?”

“Yes, Daddy. It really is beautiful.” I looked around and smiled. This looked like someone dreamt it up.

“I laid something out for you to change into later. Look on your side of the bed.”

I’d noticed the red box he’d laid there. I just didn’t want to assume that it was for me.

I went over to it and carefully opened it up. I pulled out a red corduroy dress. Of course it had a teddy bear on the left side. There was a red satin ribbon around the waist. It was really beautiful, but it wasn’t something that I could wear when others were around, normal others.

“I want you to wear that to dinner this evening. I’ll change you into something else for lunch. I just couldn’t wait to give it to you.”

“It’s just lovely, Daddy. Thank you.”

“Here let me hang it up for you. Did you see the blouse?”

“There’s a blouse, too?” I pulled it out. It was white and had puffed sleeves with a satin ribbon woven through the lace on the sleeves. “This is just adorable, Daddy.”

And he worried about my mental health?

What would the other guests here think about this?

He hung my new outfit up very lovingly. He turned and smiled at me. I was eyeing a huge box of chocolates that was on our bed. It was of course in the shape of a heart.

He laughed again. “After lunch.” He looked at his watch and then pulled out another outfit. It was one of my normal dresses.

“Lunch is informal. Come here. Daddy will change you into something more comfortable.”

I went to him and let him change me. This was something that I didn’t have to really pay attention to, as he did it. I got to look around and point out the little things that I noticed.

He on the other hand was completely concentrated on what he was doing. He changed me into one of my weekend dresses. It had a long sleeve blouse and a pink dress that went over it. He had a normal pair of my white socks with him.

My normal socks were all fancy. He’d
gotten tons for me in Germany. The all had patterns knitted into them. My normal black shoes were there, too. He didn’t change. He reached out his hand to me.

I shook my head. I pointed to the bathroom.

“Good idea. Daddy should go too before we meet the others.”

  “What others?” I asked him.

“We’re here as a group, from your school. Isn’t that nice? That way Daddy will have someone to talk to after you go to sleep.” He said that like it was the world’s greatest thing. It probably was for him.

I smiled at him. I still really wanted to make this a Valentine’s Day to remember. “How long do we get to stay?”

“Five days, sweetheart. How does that sound?”

“It’s so nice here.” I just smiled at him and then we went off to the bathroom together. I was really curious who else had signed up for this – retreat.

Daddy beamed as we entered the dining room, which had a very long table in it. I recognized some of the other girls right away. None of my friends were here, but lots of girls from choir practice.

I smiled at them and sat down at my spot. There was a pink frosted cookie with my name on it on my plate.

I looked around the table. The sitting arrangement went girl girl daddy daddy. That way no girl was sitting next to anyone other than her own daddy and another girl.

I kind of thought that was clever.

I was sitting next to a girl I didn’t really know. I smiled at her, and she smiled back.

Daddy was already talking to the daddy next to him. I leaned back and saw that it was Heather’s daddy. I was glad that I didn’t have to sit next to her.

Most of the daddies were talking to the other daddies.

I peeked at the girls sitting on my left. Then I looked at the girl’s plate. Her name was Amanda. “Looks like they put us alphabetically,” I joked.

She looked confused. Here we go again I thought. “Amanda, Amelia – ” I tilted my head in Daddy’s direction too afraid to say ‘Brian’ aloud.

She thought about it and then nodded.

“Do you have any idea what we’re going to do here?” she asked.
