`When you marry me, I'll have it,' he told her softly. 'I could get a marriage licence tomorrow. We needn't wait.' `We've got nowhere to live,' she objected.
`There's the Sea Mist. We could live on that until we've
got a place of our own. We'd be on our own, on the boat.' There did not seem anything to stand in their way. `May I have my shoe back now?'
`Are you going to run away?' His hand hesitated over his pocket.
`Never,' Lee promised happily. And she let him put it on.
