As ever, before I wrap up I want to thank the readers, reviewers, librarians, and booksellers who share my adventures with me, and then share them with others—without you, I’d still be telling these stories to my dog. If nothing else, he’s glad you all give him a break sometimes. I’d also like to thank two teachers in particular. My primary school librarian, Joan Amiet, was the one who taught me something that Anders observes during this book: librarians have special powers. I’m so grateful you were mine. And my sixth-grade teacher, Di Rundas, always had time for my storytelling, and when I was Anders’s age, she took me to Dromkeen, a trip that changed the course of my life. Thank you.
