Absolute Betrayal

With a final kiss of Carly’s sensuous lips, Stella’s head fell back onto her pillow. As she closed her eyes images of what their life could be like played out for her…and it was a happy, loving one.
Chapter Nineteen
Eight Months Later
The white flowing trouser suit Stella wore gleamed against the brown tan she’d acquired while they’d been holiday. Underneath the single button jacket, she wore a simple white flared waistcoat done up with four buttons.
“When we get home later, I’m going to rip your clothes off and make love to you until you beg me to stop,” Carly whispered in her ear and planted a kiss on her neck. “I don’t know how I managed to restrain myself this morning.”
Stella turned to her and winked. “You’ll have to wait for George to go to bed until said ravaging can begin.”
“I’ve already thought about that. Your mum and dad are taking him home with them.” A smile of smug satisfaction graced her lips. “So the fun can begin as soon as we get in.”
Claudia joined them and slapped Stella on the back. “Are you ready? There are a lot of people gathered.”
As her eyes scanned the crowd, she picked out Maria, Olivia, Tony, and a lot of the other people they’d met the night before Delia was fired.
They stood in front of the new Misfits Birmingham club. The builders had worked wonders with the new build, and Carly had impressed Stella when she proposed a complete overhaul and revamp of the brand. Everything inside was finished to a high standard. Their new staff had all been trained on the state of the art equipment inside.
“You can’t keep the people waiting anymore, love.” Carly slid her hand into the crook of Stella’s arm and reached down and made a grab motion with her free hand. Within seconds, it was filled with George’s smaller one.
“Okay, okay!” She raised her hands and led her girlfriend and son towards a microphone stand. “Ladies and Gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you your new Misfits nightclub.” She took hold of a dangling cord and pulled a sheet off the new Misfit signage hanging over the door. “Please, come in and have a drink on us. We hope you’ll be able to enjoy many nights of fun.”
As Stella stepped aside, George hugged Carly’s legs, then caught hold of his grandma’s hand and walked with her into the club.
“It seems I’ve been dumped.” Carly opened Stella’s arms and walked into them.
Stella chuckled as she stroked Carly’s back. “I wouldn’t worry about it. He knows there’s food inside and has probably made my mum fix him a plate already.” She leant down and kissed Carly on the lips. “Besides, you’re with me, and I’d never dump you for food.” Carly’s playful slap to her stomach stung. “Hey, you’ve got to stop hitting me. There’s no way I’m going to ask a woman to move in with me and George if she keeps abusing me the way she does.”
Carly stopped moving and tugged hard on Stella’s arm. “What did you say?”
“I was going to wait until later, but you know how bad I am at dealing with anticipation. We’ve been together for just over eight months, and I can’t remember a time when I was ever this happy. I’d love it if you’d agree to move in with George and me. You already have a key. This’ll make it official.”
With a squeal to rival one of George’s, Carly flung herself into Stella’s arms. She jumped, wrapped her arms and legs around her, and placed playful kisses all over her face before she captured Stella’s lips in a ferocious kiss.
Stella pulled away and gazed into Carly’s eyes, a small smirk on her lips. “Can I take that as a yes?”
Carly put her forehead on Stella’s. “What do you think?”
Stella spun them around. “I love you so much, Carly Martin. Welcome to the family.”
George jumped a circle around them. “Wow! We can build Lego all the time now!”
The rest of their family and close friends’ laughter was heard from the other side of the club as the two women continued to kiss while the rambunctious seven-year-old continued to work himself up into a frenzy of excitement.
“I love you, too, Stella.”
“What about me?” George stopped what he was doing and frowned up at her.
Carly knelt next to him and opened her arms. “Of course, I love you, Georgeous.”
Stella blew a kiss to Carly as she watched them together. Is it possible to be so in love with someone that your heart hurts whenever you look at them?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ronni Meyrick was born in Brighton, but now lives in rural Oxfordshire with her wife Kay. She’s been an avid reader since a young age, and could always be found with her head in a book.
She’s a coffee addict who’s forever trying new brands. She loves to cook and loves discovering new recipes. Ronni also enjoys photography and can be found with her camera in hand. She has a keen interest in Greek, Roman and Norse mythology, and Egyptology. (She knows she a bit of a geek)
Ronni used to the play the trumpet and drums in a youth group and still enjoys watching marching bands. She loves rugby with a passion, and is an avid Wales supporter. Her family play a very important part in her life, and she enjoys holidays back at home in Brighton with them whenever she can. Ronni Meyrick is her pen name. She decided on the name to honour her father who was named Ronald. The Meyrick part is an old family name. Her parents are English and Welsh, and as any rugby fan knows that is quite a conflict when the six-nation’s rugby tournament arrives.
The urge to write a book came to her three years ago, while she was caring for her wife. She hasn’t stopped since, and has just finished writing her eighth book.
