Colonial Offer (The Sampson Series Book 1)

“They’re all set and you’re good to close as planned.” He said, the smile clear in his voice.
“Awesome!” She said happily. That was one less thing she had to worry about. Five months’ worth of work had almost fallen apart due to her client’s delay. The Millers wouldn’t provide their tax returns and without that, the bank refused to give them their commitment letter. Thanks to Dave’s diligence, they were now all set. “Have you contacted them yet or should I call?”
“I just spoke with them.”
“Oh, Dave,” she said with a sigh of relief, “you’re my hero.”
Dave Ferry was a mortgage consultant Sarah had worked with over the years. Though most of her clients were preapproved before they called her, some still asked for a referral and Dave’s was always the first name she mentioned. He had a proven track record. He was good at what he did, and he was always available, morning, noon, or night. The man had no life.
“Happy to help,” he replied. “And since I have your attention, how about dinner and a movie?”
Sarah laughed softly. “You could ask for my firstborn child and I think I’d agree.” This client had been especially difficult. Unresponsive whenever Sarah or Dave contacted them, he and his wife had wanted instant results whenever they initiated the conversation. If he called, he wanted to talk, and he expected them to drop everything for him. He showed up at their offices at random times and didn’t want to wait, even if they were already speaking with someone else. Yet when he needed to take action—return a call or worse, return documents—he would take weeks. At one point earlier in the month, Sarah had decided the closing would have to be pushed out. He would just not cooperate with Dave. But it seems Dave had been persistent and gotten the job done. Phew!
“Hey, I don’t want children yet, just a movie and some dinner, thanks.” She could hear the humor in his voice and laughed, too. “If you want children with me, we’ll need to get married first. And if you’re going to propose, I want the whole package—dinner, roses, down on one knee, all of it. Because I’m worth it.”
Laughing at his easy wit, she replied, “You definitely are, but I’m not ready for such commitment, so I’ll just agree to dinner and a movie. Your pick.” She turned down the familiar street to her office.
“I’ll pick you up on Tuesday. Is six all right?”
“That works.”
The call ended just as she was pulled into her office parking lot. There was nothing between herself and Dave other than a professional association and maybe a blossoming friendship. He was easygoing and though he’d taken her to dinner before, they’d usually spent the meal discussing business trends. Fun times. Once in a while, they’d chatted about personal matters but nothing had ever given her the impression his intentions were romantic. Which was fine by her, especially considering her earlier meeting with Scott.
She blushed just thinking about it and her nipples perked up. For a moment, she wondered if Scott was still at the house, maybe giving another showing? She could just turn around. Would he welcome her reappearance? He had seemed interested enough earlier, had even said he was looking forward to seeing her again. Of course, that had been earlier. For all she knew, he could be doing the same thing with someone else.
It was probably just a one-time thing, and she should just move on with her life. Although sex like that didn’t come along every day, maybe she should consider doing it again. And again. She flushed. Heck, good sex was very important to your health. There was scientific proof of it.
They’d be meeting up again Saturday. Maybe she should arrive a little early, before her buyers arrived. Or stay a little later, after they left.
Or you could act like a professional.
Right.
CHAPTER SEVEN
Saturday’s Showing
Scott had been looking forward to this showing since last week. Hell, he’d been looking forward to it since before she’d left. From the window in the foyer, he saw her car pull up by his and smiled with anticipation. He watched as she got out of the car, wearing a long skirt with a button-down top. She looked surprisingly casual considering they were showing the house, but he didn’t care. In fact, that skirt would work very well for what he had in mind. It was far easier to pull a skirt up and out of the way than to tug pants off. He began to daydream about kissing her exposed flesh as he undid her shirt buttons, one by one.
Rather than coming inside immediately, Sarah leaned against her car and looked at her phone. Scott’s smile grew as he realized she was stalling. He had guessed she was shy from her body language and the way she’d kept avoiding looking at him, but he’d thought they’d gotten past her inhibitions. I guess I need to refresh her memory. He had to go after her.
“Hey there,” he called out after opening the door. “How are you doing, Sarah?” He strode down the steps easily and was standing beside her in seconds, ignoring the hot and humid air that engulfed him.
“Good afternoon, Scott,” she responded, pushing herself away from the car. Politely, she extended her hand. “It’s good to see you again.” She gave him a firm handshake, though her hand was far smaller than his. And very soft. It would feel wonderful around his cock.
“It’s good to see you, too.” He smiled. “Would you like to come inside and wait?”
She blinked up at him, three rapid flutters, her telltale sign for being ruffled. “No, my buyers are only a minute away.” She proceeded to look down at her phone again.
“Okay, that’s fine.” He found it telling that she was avoiding making eye contact and that she was blushing. Damn, she’s so attractive.
No sooner were the words out than a minivan pulled up. Sarah walked over to the newcomers’ vehicle and greeted the passengers through the window, Scott following a step behind. “Hi Bobby, Pam. Hey, you brought the girls. Hi, girls.” A light wind blew, pushing the fabric against her body, and he got a perfect view of her figure. Nice shapely hourglass.
The family piled out while Scott watched. Three young girls came out of the same back door, the oldest helping the youngest, who was just a toddler. The three ran off to look at the backyard until their mother called them back. Giggling, they returned to the front of the house, running as fast as they could.
“This is Scott, the listing agent,” Sarah said, walking the two adults over to him. “Scott, this is Bobby and Pam.”
“Welcome.” They shook hands. “How about we head inside and cool down in the central AC?” They all murmured their agreement and nodded.
As they were heading inside, Sarah asked, “Scott, since this is your listing, would you care to show them around?”
He looked directly at her as he answered, “Whatever you want, honey.” He watched her long enough to see the blush creep over her cheeks and know the words hit home. He smiled before turning to the buyers and leading them inside.
Pam picked the youngest up while the other two ran inside the house. Scott found it easy enough to give the buyers a tour of the house, although the girls dashing through the rooms kept things interesting. To make the situation easier for himself, Scott scooped up the middle one as she was trying to run after the eldest into the kitchen and carried her to the staircase. “Up we go!” He said as he put her gently on the first step. She giggled as she bounced up the stairs, her sister following shortly after. The adults went up last, Pam still holding the youngest.
Scott shared the features of the house with Bobby and Pam just as he had with Sarah week ago. Even though she knew them as well, she’d remained quiet during the entire showing. As he’d expected, the buyers were very interested, but Scott found himself feeling unsettled. They were nearing the laundry room and, as memories flooded him, he was tempted to skip it altogether, along with the master bedroom. He locked eyes with Sarah for only a second before she glanced quickly away.
Instead of following the others, Sarah leaned against the wall in the hallway as the buyers went into the laundry room, the giggling girls running in and out before heading straight for the
master bedroom. She smiled at their antics but didn’t follow. Soon, everyone was heading into the master bedroom but once again, she hesitated outside by the door. Scott wondered if she was remembering their time together in these rooms. He certainly was.
The comforter had been changed as he’d asked; it was the first thing he’d checked when he got to the house. He’d hoped to have another fun session with her after her buyers left, but she seemed uncomfortable around him again. He would have to fix that before she left today. He had another condom in his pocket that he wanted to use.
CHAPTER EIGHT
Stay Awhile
“They loved it,” Sarah said from the foyer as she watched the minivan drive off. “I know they’re worried about the stairs with the little ones, but all parents are worried about stairs. They’ll be just fine.” She turned to Scott who was turning lights off in the living room area. “As soon as I hear from them, one way or another, I’ll let you know.”
“I’d appreciate that, thanks.” Scott faced her and smiled. “Hey, can you do me a favor and double-check the lights upstairs? I think I turned them off, but I just want to make sure.” He headed for the basement stairs. “I need to lock the slider downstairs. I’ll be up in a minute.” He turned around, and she got another view of his delicious backside.
Throughout the entire showing, she’d been eyeing him, watching how his broad chest filled the short-sleeved button-down shirt, imagining him without it. She wanted to pinch his butt or take a bite out of him. Doing both would work just fine. Focus, Sarah.
“Yeah, sure.” Frowning at the unexpected request, Sarah ran upstairs and went into each room to verify the lights were off. She glanced briefly at the king-size bed in the center of the master bedroom but didn’t dwell on it. You are not a complete slut, she told herself. The thought was immediately followed by another: Being a good girl sucks.
The view from the window caught her attention and she walked closer for a better look of the backyard and pool deck below. The yard was completely private, the woods surrounding the property gave it a secluded feel. They’d done a great job picking the lot and making the house work with the natural environment. It was isolated yet close to everything, the perfect blend.
Confirming that all the lights were off, she headed back downstairs. “Scott?” She called out. There was no response. She opened the basement door, but saw only darkness. Sarah looked through the kitchen slider and saw him kneeling by the pool, his hand in the water. As she opened the door to let him know she was leaving, the sticky air hit her, and she groaned with disgust.
“Found you,” she said, closing the door behind her.
Looking up, he smiled back. “I wouldn’t hide from you for long.” He winked.
“Um…” She blushed and blinked rapidly. “The lights are all off upstairs.” Awkwardly, she said, “I’m going to head out.”
“Thanks.” Scott pulled his hand out of the water to check the balance. “Would you mind keeping me company while I check this out? It’ll only take a minute or two.”
I’d love to spend more time with you, you delicious man. “Yes, sure.” She looked around for something to do, maybe a place to sit.
“Take your shoes off and put your feet in,” he offered. At her hesitation, he pushed. “Relax, no one comes here without my knowing.” He flashed that wicked, delicious smile of his.
The water did look inviting, even if she wasn’t prepared to go swimming. Sarah sat down at the pool’s edge and took her wedge sandals off. Hiking her skirt up and bunching it around her thighs, she swung her legs in. The water felt wonderful, better than it looked, especially on such a hot and humid day. Forgetting where she was for a moment, she closed her eyes and leaned back on her elbows to soak up the sun and enjoy the water. She focused only on the sun and water.
After a while, rustling sounds disturbed her peace and she turned to see what Scott was doing. It wasn’t Scott and she gasped at a snake five feet away from her moving against the fence. In her hurry to get away from it, she struggled to get up and caught the hem of the long skirt with her foot. Water splashed around her as she fell into the pool. Spooked, she hid underwater, allowing only her nose to poke out so she could breathe.
“Sarah?!” Scott hurried back from the side of the house, running to the side of the pool, anxiously looking around for any danger. “What’s wrong, what happened?”
Sarah’s head reappeared. “There’s a snake over there,” she said nervously, looking at the fence, eyes wide with fear.
Cautiously, he walked over to the fence and laughed softly at what he saw. “Do you mean this?” He picked up the brown hose he’d just been tugging at from the other side of the house. He raised it high enough for her to see.
Embarrassed, she rolled her eyes at herself, then allowed herself to sink into the water, hiding beneath its rippling surface. When her lungs cried for air, she floated back up and looked at him as he watched her from the side of the pool.
“Your clothes are soaked through,” he said with a wicked grin, blue eyes heavy with lust. “You should take them off and let them dry.”
Sarah repeatedly blinked at him as she continued to tread water. Oh, my God, here we go again. Her heart thumped rapidly, no longer with fright, but with excitement and desire. She knew if she took her clothes off, he would have sex with her. And she’d let him. Sure, she’d never done anything like this before—well… again, would be more accurate. She was raised not to, but… Her belly tightened with eagerness. Throwing her worries aside, she said, “Only if you join me.”
Scott’s grin grew and he didn’t hesitate, his eyes dancing with desire. She watched him from the water as he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing delicious tawny skin, inch by inch. She swallowed as his torso came into view. “Shirt’s off, your turn.”
Yup, she was going to do this. Again. But if it was anything like the first time, the experience would be committed to memory. Sarah would think back on these days when she was old and gray and reminisce on how she’d felt with this man. Alive and beautiful. She didn’t know how they would part ways, as she knew they eventually would, but in the meantime, she’d enjoy the wild ride.
She swam to the steps and pulled the skirt up to climb them. Sarah walked to a table and chairs by the grill and began to unbutton her shirt, feeling his hungry eyes on her the entire time. She struggled to pull the shirt off, the moisture making it stick to her body. Suddenly, his hands were there to help. He pulled the fabric down and off of her, then put it on the chair to dry. With shaking hands, she moved to her long skirt, pushing it off her shapely hips and letting it slosh to the ground. Standing there in nothing but her soaked white bra and mesh panties, she looked over her shoulder to see his reaction.
Lust. His eyes were heavy with it; his hunger showing on his face and in the bulge of his pants. Still watching him over her shoulder, she bent to pick up her soaked skirt, and saw his gaze land on her round butt, watched as the smile faded into need. There was no doubt that he wanted her. Now.
“You’re playing with me, Sarah,” he said, his voice strained. “That’s not nice.”
“It’s only not nice if I leave you stranded.” She walked by him to put the skirt on another chair to dry. She turned around and aimed for his zipper. The sound of it opening was erotic music. She snuck her hand inside to play with him, to rub him, feel his length against her palm. It wasn’t enough, so she undid the button at his waist and pushed his pants off his hips, grabbing the boxer briefs, as well. “I won’t leave you stranded.” He stepped out of clothes, his cock stiff and ready. Feeling it against her belly just made her hotter.
He kissed her, hard. Swept his tongue into her mouth as he wrapped his arms around her tiny waist, pulling her against his body by cupping her butt, squeezing the cheeks tightly. He bit her lips while her hands caressed his nape and then his shoulders. He was too needy to be gentle and that was all right with her. She wanted him just as bad. She felt a throbbing need between her legs and was soaked alre
ady, just thinking about what was to come.
Still kissing her, he ran his hands up her back to undo her bra. He unhooked it easily, freeing her breasts. He ran a hand under the bra to cup one, pinching the hardened nipple, sending chills over her body. A deep moan was his reward. He pulled the bra off completely, throwing it aside without care, before returning to her butt. Sliding his hands beneath the mesh fabric, he squeezed her cheeks, pulling her closer so he could rub himself against her core. He pulled the panties down and off to expose all of her.
CHAPTER NINE
Silky Smooth
Scott licked his lips upon seeing the smooth flesh. Good God, she must wax. There wasn’t any sign of hair there, whatsoever. How could he have missed this last time? He forced her to walk backward toward one of the deck chairs. He needed to taste her. When the back of her knees hit the chair, he ordered, “Sit.” She did and he knelt before her, spreading her legs apart, pulling at the back of her knees until she was sitting on the very edge of the chair.
He ran his hands over the skin of her thighs, silky soft, and felt her shudder. With his thumb, he stroked her core and traced the line of her lips, parting them slightly. Rather than jump right in, which is what he wanted to do, he kissed her thighs, each kiss bringing him closer, while he used his thumb to rub her lips, up one side, down the other, then up between them, adding a hint of pressure before running his thumb back down.
Scott looked at her from between her legs, saw her passion-laden eyes, and noticed her white-knuckled grip on the arms of the chair. His tongue darted out to taste her and she jumped at the touch. He pulled her to his mouth while he held her hips and devoured her.
CHAPTER TEN
Poolside Chair
Sarah was dying. The most sensual, pleasurable death she could imagine. He was licking her, alternating pressure and area. Sometimes, he was on her clit. Sometimes, he was on her lips. Sometimes he didn’t lick. Sometimes, he bit. Sweet, fantastic nibbles that drove her mad. She could barely make sense of what he was doing, it just felt so damn good.
