Her Pack

Some nights, Maia could close her eyes and feel him holding onto the back of her head, pushing her down to the bear traps. Sometimes in her dreams, he actually did push her, and the metal snapped against her face, drawing gallons of blood and tearing off her eyes and her nose. But each time she woke trembling in the night, she was cradled by Alarick. Or Farkas, or Grimm. Sometimes all three of them. They treated her like a princess, like their queen.
And, God, it felt good.
Roy pulled up to his house, where Alarick’s truck was already parked. Alarick sat on his truck’s hatch, Grimm standing beside him with his arms crossed. They were in deep conversation until Maia got out, running and leaping at Grimm. She gave him a chaste kiss, making him laugh before he put her down on her feet.
As Alarick slid off the hatch, he cocked his head, blue eyes lively even in the darkening light. “Nothing for your alpha?”
Maia smiled. “Oh, I’ll have something special for you, soon enough.” She winked.
Heading to his house, Roy chuckled. “All right, wolfies, have some fun. Just don’t be howling all night, you got it?” He shook his head once, laughing all the while, even after his screen door closed behind him.
Alarick checked his phone before setting it in the bed of his truck as he worked to take off his shirt. “I take it Violet’s closing, since you’re both here early?”
Nodding, Farkas said, “She offered so we could get our claiming on.” He bit his lower lip, starting to do some ridiculous dance that only made Maia laugh, but maybe that was the point. He often claimed he loved her laugh.
“Smart girl,” Grimm murmured, dark gaze heavy on Maia as he slipped off his pants and set them in a separate pile from Alarick’s on the truck bed.
Maia unzipped her boots, peeling off her socks before tackling her pants and shirt. Soon enough, she stood before her pack utterly naked, her hands resting on her hips. She avoided looking at her arm whenever she could; seeing the scars only reminded her of Zak, and that was a reminder she never needed.
Grimm and Farkas were nude, their bodies already growing excited for what was to come. Grimm, her tall, dark and handsome wolf—her big teddy bear. The giant, strong wolf who would never hurt her or even a stray spider in the house. Farkas, her slightly dorky, loveable, ever so talkative wolf, the one who always knew how to cheer her up and make her laugh.
And lastly, Alarick, who was also the final man to rid himself of his clothes. He moved between his pack, standing closest to her, a half smile on his face, his yellow hair hanging over his forehead.
Alarick was her alpha, her leader. He was her everything, and Maia was lucky to have him, to have them all. Alarick was an alpha she would follow to the ends of the earth, a wolf she’d give everything for.
The four of them were one, each a quarter of a single puzzle. They completed each other, made the picture whole. Maia knew, without a single doubt, she’d have a good, long life with them, whether they remained in this small, midwestern town or if they moved continents to another country. She was happy with them, as they were with her.
Maia gave the men before her a smile, locking eyes with Alarick as she asked, “Ready, alpha? It’s time for the chase.” She didn’t wait for his answer; she didn’t wait for any of them to respond. Her legs spun, her body shifting into her glorious wolf form, taking off at an immediate sprint before any of the men had shifted themselves.
This was only the start of their lives together. The wild and free beginning.
