Finding Friday Page 11

And maybe I’ve made a few stupid decisions while with these guys. Should I be sleeping with Lenny? Nah, probably not, but you only live once and I happen to enjoy sex and it was good, worth it, that’s for sure. And that whole thing with him and Maddox? Well, that was just the hottest fucking thing I’ve ever witnessed. I’m just having fun. That’s it. This is all fun. My own vacation.

What happens on the road, stays on the road.

  My new motto.

Once this is done, it’s back to reality. Time to get serious. Time to start my life. I hope Lenny will keep in touch and I guess it would be nice to hear from Maddox every now and again. Callan would probably appreciate never hearing from me again and Alec probably wants me as far away from him as possible. But if they did keep in touch, I wouldn’t complain. I think it would be nice…to have friends. I’m not really sure what that’s like.

I lean to my left and rest my head on Lenny’s shoulder. His light snoring lets me know that he’s in a deep sleep. He smells like nature, a refreshing airy scent. Not like the city, but by the mountains and trees. It’s calming. I breath him in and my eyes go to the window. I look up at the sky and notice dark clouds rolling in, it looks like rain. It’s been raining a lot lately; I wonder if there was a storm and we’re driving in it’s path. Don’t ask which way that is, because I couldn’t tell you. At this point, I’m not even sure what state we are in, and you know what? I don’t care.

I watch the cars on the opposite side of the highway fly by us and an unexpected sadness creeps over me and I can’t figure out why. Because of life? Of where I am? Being alone...I’m not sure. I can’t pinpoint it and I guess it isn’t important. Not now. I feel the car shifting and I realize that Maddox is pulling off the highway and onto an exit. He pulls into a gas station and stops at the pump closest to the door leading to the store.

“Let’s go assholes! Potty break.” He slaps Callan on the leg, getting him a swat and a growl in return.

Lenny sucks a deep breath and stretches. He notices that I’m snuggling with him and puts his arm around me, pulling me close for a hug.

“Aw, you like snuggling?” He asks in this sweet, higher than normal voice and I can’t help but laugh. I don’t answer though. The answer should be no. I never liked snuggling or cuddling or any of that physical stuff, but this feels good.

“As much as I’d like to stay here, I really have to pee and I know I don’t have much time to do it.” He releases his grip on me, “Maddox can be a real control freak sometimes,” he stage whispers.

“You don’t say?” He undoes his seatbelt and opens the door to get out, Maddox catches him off guard with a punch to his arm. He sucks in a breath and rubs at the sore spot. “I heard that.”

“It’s true and you know it!” Lenny punches him back and runs inside the store before Maddox can get him again. Sometimes tells me that if they were serious, Lenny would be down for the count and unable to get back up. I crawl out of the car quickly, also really having to pee. As soon as my feet land on the ground, I throw my arms up in a stretch and feel tiny raindrops hit my uncovered skin.

I was surprised to see the hotel that we’d be staying in - yes, I said hotel – was only a few minutes from the gas station. The drive wasn’t all that long, I thought they’d want to drive further away from where we were. This town, or city - I don’t know what constitutes it as one or the other – definitely has more of a city feel too it. The buildings are taller, closer together. There are more people around. It’s dark out but the main roads are lit up by businesses and streetlights.

The guys specifically said that they don’t like staying in places like this because it reminds them of home, and the point of this vacation is to get away from home. I’m okay with it though, I could do with the upgrade for a bit.

It’s not a very large hotel, but it is fancy looking. The entire building is a cream color with black and gold accents. The inside is fancy as fuck. The marble floor has specks of gold and black, with matching décor throughout. There are black statues placed around the large foyer, large gold-framed paintings hang on the walls. There is even a small set up by the door that has free beverages and snacks. Lenny walks directly to it, and I follow.

Three large glass containers hold water with different variations of fruit floating inside. There are small trays lined with cookies and muffins. I pluck a cookie off the tray and take a bite, it’s not the best cookie I've ever had but it’ll suffice. I take a plastic cup and fill it from the water jug that is filled with strawberries. Lenny grabs two muffins and a cookie. I glare at him; he snickers and runs back to the other guys that are waiting in line to check in. Well, to Callan and Maddox. Alec is sitting outside by himself.

By the time I walk up to meet the guys, Maddox is taking the key from the tall, skinny blonde behind the counter. She smiles at him with that look and I can’t help but give her a dirty look in return. She quickly averts her eyes and starts to work on her computer. Lenny goes outside to get Alec as the rest of us make our way up to the top floor. Apparently, we have a suite. I’ve never had the luxury of staying in one and I’m excited to see what all the fuss is about. I didn’t think the guys had that kind of money, though the thought of money never popped into my head.

We reach the top floor and the elevator doors open up into a short hallway that has only two doors. One marked with Luxury Suite and the other with King Suite. Maddox walks to the end of the hallway and turns toward the door on the left, the Luxury Suite and let’s himself in using the key card. He holds the door for me as I walk in, ducking under his arm. I hear the sharp click of the door closing behind me as I enter into a spacious kitchen with a small dinette set to the left, the room decorated in black and dark brown. The living room is straight ahead, the wall lined with windows all covered by long white curtains. The furniture and décor in that room is a mix match of black and white, with dark wood floors that match the kitchen. There is a hallway where the kitchen and living room meet, to the right leads to three bedrooms and to the left is the bathroom.

This is nice. Like, really nice.

“What do you do to be able to afford a place like this?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” He’s being cocky, repeating the first words I ever spoke to him.

  Shitbag.

I pop my head into each bedroom and notice that there is one bed per room. I assume there is a pull-out bed in the couch, but that still means someone is sleeping with someone. A rush of warmth fills my belly as I think about sharing a bed with, well with any of them, to be honest.

I hear the faint beep of the door being unlocked and in comes Lenny and Alec with a trolley piled high with our bags. There’s more there than they normally bring into the room. He pulls it into the room, puts all the bags on the floor in the middle of the living room and then brings the trolley back into the hallway, leaving it by the door.

“Sleeping arrangements? There’s only three, maybe four beds.” Curiosity gets the best of me and I open my mouth.

“Actually, there are five. Both of those sofas have a pull-out bed.”

I admit, I’m ashamed of the disappointment that falls over me. I just met these guys. Come on Friday, get your shit together!

Alec picks up a black duffle bag and his backpack from the large pile and walks into the only room on the right and closes the door behind him.

“Looks like he found his room,” I say pursing my lips. “I’ll sleep on the couch-”

“Oh, hogwash,” Lenny giggles out. “What? It’s a good word.”

I shake my head and laugh, there is nothing else that I can do, really. How do you respond to that?

“Callan and Lenny will sleep on the sofas; you have a room.” There he goes again, bossing everyone around. And there I go…soaking my panties.

“But this is your vacation,” I argue. Maddox holds up his hand to silence me. I’m not sure why that works, but it does. Something about the hard look he gives me. I want to obey ever
ything that he says. Every. Little. Thing.

What has happened to me? It’s like, I got some dick and now I’m insatiable. Which is nuts because I just went months without it and I was fine, but now? Lord, help me. I scrub my hands over my face and shoot a glance down the hallway.

“Please allow me to assist with your bags, my lovely lady.” I close my eyes and let out a quick breath. I don’t think I could ever get sick of having Lenny around. When this is done with, he better stick around. I need to make sure to tell him that, sooner rather than later.

  “Lenny, quit the shit.”

“What? Jealous that I can make our lady laugh and you can’t?”

  Our lady…

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but the glare that Maddox gives Lenny tells me otherwise. He clears his throat and carries my bags down the hall, seriousness taking over him, but I know that it won’t last.

“Which room do you want?” I walk to him and take a quick peek in each room. They are basically the same however one room is decorated in a different shades of green while the other is in shades of pinks and reds.

“This one!” I point to the green one, a little too excited about it.

“I was hoping you’d say that.”

  Payback in small amounts.

  CHAPTER 15

It’s late, close to 11PM but Maddox assures me that bars around here don’t close until at least 2AM, even on a Sunday. He decided that we were going to have a night out tonight. After coming into my room and thanking me for giving him the “sissy room”, he told me that we were going out and to dress up. Also, that I could unpack because we will be staying here for more than a few days. I asked him why, since I know the point in their trip is traveling around and the only answer I got was some kind of mumble about it being cheaper or something.

  Whatever.

I dump everything in my bags onto the floor and start to sort it all out. I throw shirts into one pile, pants into another and so on and so forth. I come across a few dresses and decide on a tight, black dress with a squared neckline that accentuates my curves and makes my boobs look bigger than they are. I found an iron in one of the closets, good thing because everything in these bags are wrinkled to hell.

I don’t have many shoes with me, only two pairs that would match with the dress, but I decide on the heels. Yes, the heels. The pair that I walked over five miles in, that I swore I would never wear again. That I almost burned. Yeah, those. They are exceptionally comfortable, under normal circumstances and easy to walk in. Before getting dressed I shower and spend a half hour in the bathroom fixing my hair and doing my make-up. I don’t usually spend this much time on that kind of stuff, but something about going out with these guys tonight makes me want to look good, really good. For a couple of reasons…

One. Intimidation. If we are going out to a club or something, I’m sure there will be girls everywhere and even though these guys aren’t technically mine, it’s still hands off – from other girls, not me. Girls are less likely to hit on guys if they see them with a hot girl, it makes them self-conscious.

Two. Attention. Maybe Alec and Callan won’t acknowledge how I look, but I know Lenny and Maddox will. Maddox won’t come out and say anything, but I can tell in his eyes that he likes what he sees. I know he wants me, but like I said, he needs to work for it. After all I’ve been through lately, pardon me for wanting attention. I am only human, after all. One who was cheated on and made to feel inadequate. Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but you get the point.

Three. Confidence. When you feel that you look good, you’re in a better mood. It’s a fact. I want to have a good night tonight; I want to have fun. I need this. Who knows when I will ever have something like this again? A night out with a bunch of hot guys? With friends? If I should call them that, I don’t know. What should I call them? My guys? Maybe that’s crossing a line...but, Lenny crossed that line early.

After my hair and make-up is done, I saunter into my bedroom, wearing nothing but a towel. The guys (minus Alec) are all sitting in the living and as I pass by them, I feel three sets of eyes watching me as I go.

This is why I do it.

I mentally pat myself on my back for a job well done.

Closing the door behind me, I drop the towel to the floor and slip into my little black dress. No bra, no panties. You just can’t wear those things with a dress like this.

“Hurry up or we will leave without you.”

Liars. They would do no such thing.

  Would they?

Not wanting to carry a purse or anything, I pull out my ID from my wallet and grab a couple of twenties, then I throw my purse into the closet for hiding purposes. Not that I don’t trust the guys, but you don’t know who in this hotel will be up in the room.

I slip my shoes on and walk out to the living room. Fuck me, they all look good enough to eat. I avoided looking at them when I walked by before, trying to act like I didn’t care. You know the deal. But now that I see them, fuck me sideways. Maddox has on fitted jeans, that fit him very, very well. I can see his bulge, which is way too sexy. He has on a dark blue button up, with the sleeves rolled up. Fuck, why is that so hot? His hair perfectly gelled into a fauxhawk, his eyes extra dark and stormy right now. His face is freshly shaven, his jaw twitches as I look him up and down

Lenny has on dark khaki chinos with a white button up shirt. His sleeves also rolled up. If I don’t start drooling in a second, I’ll be surprised. His hair perfectly straight and tucked behind his ears as normal. His face is always clean shaven, I wonder if he has facial hair at all. Callan is dressed in navy blue pants, a white button up and a maroon vest. If his sleeves were rolled up, I'm sure that I'd lose it. Something about that nerdy, well-dressed look that makes my panties wet...well, if only I had some on. His hair is perfectly swooped to the side. His face covered in a light stubble that I would love to feel between my thighs. I come to a stop a few feet from them, holding out my ID and money, playing the your-hotness-doesn’t-effect-me card. It’s not easy.

“Who’s holding my shit?” I pop a hip.

  Silence.

  “Well?”

  “You look fucking hot.”

“Thanks, Lenny. So do you.” I wink at him and smile. He bites his lip in return. If there was any question about how tonight was going to go, they have all been answered with the looks I’m getting from these two. Callan looks down at his phone, ignoring me but on closer inspection I am pretty sure he’s got a boner going on in his pants.

One point for Friday. Nah, make it ten. He’s been a tough nut to crack.

Maddox has a scowl on his face, but I’m learning that it’s just how he looks. Like resting bitch face, but for guys. He has to keep that badass look at all times. Even if he does think I look hot, he isn’t going to admit it. Not at a time like this when a compliment is due. Or in front of others.

“Put your money away. Give me your ID.”

Maddox takes the ID from me and puts it into his wallet for safe keeping.

“Just take the money, for my drinks.” He laughs at me, a degrading laugh that makes me want to smack him, yet succeeding in making me feel self-conscious, too.

“Friday, put your money away.” He speaks the words slowly, but less cocky, a little more genuine.

I huff, but I go back to my room and put the money back into my purse. When I walk back out, Maddox is banging on Alec’s door.

“Let’s go, asshole. We’re leaving.” A moment later the door opens and out comes Alec, also looking sexy as fuck. Damn, why does he have to hate me? And maybe I should put some panties on to soak up all this…excitement. He gives me a quick look, his eyes widening a fraction, but quickly catches himself. He’s a pro. He’s wearing jeans with a black short sleeved button up shirt. A chain leading from the front to his back pocket, attached to his wallet, I assume.

I follow him down the hallway, his citrus scent hitting my nose as we go. I wonder what that scent is, it doesn’t smell like any type of cologne. Maddox
opens the door for us and Alec is the first one out. Then Callan, then Lenny and I follow behind with Maddox behind me. He places his hand on the small of my back, sending shivers up my spine and throughout my body. Even as they dissipate, a tingling sensation stays where his hand rests on me. We all step onto the elevator and I push the button for the ground floor. No one says anything during the ride down or during the walk to the outside.

“Are we getting a taxi?” Callan asks.

“No, we aren’t going far.” Maddox leads the way down the street. Lenny comes to my side and takes my hand, interlocking our fingers. His sweetness warms my heart and brings a smile to my face.

This town really comes alive at night. The sidewalks are filled with people. All dressed up, heading to wherever it is that they are going. The streets are lined with bright lights, neon signs above businesses telling people where there is food and bars. The energy is exciting, and I love it.

We walk three blocks before stopping at a building that’s settled between two other larger buildings. The top two floors are lined with glass windows. Inside are people dancing and drinking. Bright flashing lights illuminate the area around us. The heavy bass of the music booms all the way out here. The bouncer, a tall dark-skinned guy dressed in all black and sunglasses (even though it’s nighttime) asks us for our ID’s. Maddox shows him mine and his, then the other guys give him theirs as well. Once he checks them all, he removes the red rope, allowing us to pass through. We walk through one door and are stopped once again, this time by a girl about my age dressed in nothing but a bright red, sparkly bra and matching panties. Her bleach-blonde hair is up in a messy bun, with a few short curls falling down beside her face. She tells us there is a cover charge and Maddox hands over his credit card to pay for everyone.
