“You feel so good, Harley. There is nothing about your body that I don’t love. When I’m not touching you, it’s all I think about doing. When I am touching you, I want to be everywhere.”
“I love your touch, Dex.” She was completely filled with him and he fucked her in short, firm thrusts so he could keep her that way. “Every part of you is always so warm and hard. I love the way you make me feel inside and out.”
He matched the movement of his fingers to the rocking of his hips and she started to pant. “I can’t wait to feel you come. To feel your sweet pussy soak my dick as you go tight as a fist around me.”
Suddenly the orgasm was there and Harley gave a small scream as her body took over.
“Yes, god, yes…so fucking good.” He buried himself to the balls and went still, letting her feel the throbbing of his release against her inner walls. “No matter how many times we’re together, each time it feels like I’ll come forever.”
His fingers continued to move over her folds. “I wish I had time to lap up every drop.”
She watched as Dex put his fingers to his lips and sucked them clean. Her heart stuttered in her chest. Dipping down for more, he traced his lower lip with her essence and turned her head.
“Taste. See why I’m fucking addicted to eating you.” Their kiss was flavored with her body and she’d never experienced anything so erotic. When he broke it, he smiled. “Later, I plan to worship you with my lips, teeth, and tongue.”
“Will you let me do the same?” Strangely, every time she attempted to suck his cock, Dex always turned the attention back to her.
“You don’t have to do that, Harley.” At the question in her eyes, he shook his head. “When I used to think about you all the time, wanting what I couldn’t have, I’d jerk off and imagine you sucking me.” He stroked his fingers over her hair.
“When I needed release but didn’t want intimacy…I’d let one of the groupies suck me off. I always closed my eyes and pretended it was you.” His shrug was embarrassed. “You’re everything to me. I don’t like the person I used to be.”
Carefully, he pulled from her body and wrapped the condom in tissues from her dresser. As he always did, he cleaned her up and situated her clothing. She’d learned to wait for him to do it.
Turning, she hugged him hard with her cheek pressed against his chest. His heart pounded steadily less than an inch away and she loved the sound.
He issued a happy sigh. “I feel so much better now, Harley.”
“Dex…I love you. I want you all the time.” Glancing up, she smiled. “I would love to see the expression on your face while I sucked your cock.”
A tremor worked over his body. “Damn, woman.”
“Stop denying yourself because it’s ridiculous and unnecessary. You don’t think of me the way you did those other women. You won’t think about them while I’m doing it, will you?” He shook his head with a scowl. Going up on her tiptoes, he lifted her until they were eye level. “Then there is no reason you shouldn’t let me lick and suck your beautiful cock until you come for me.”
“Harley…you destroy my control.” Setting her back against the wall, he cupped her ass in his palms as he kissed her thoroughly.
The doorbell ended all thoughts of further play and he rested his forehead against hers. “I’ll come back this afternoon.” She nodded and he put her down. She was glad for their stolen time together.
Now, it was time for her trainer to make her cry.
Chapter Fifteen
Once again, Joanna tore her apart in physical therapy and showed no mercy. After her shower, Harley slipped on a gauzy sundress and waited for Lexie to get home with her nanny.
She was reading when her daughter slammed through the house like a hurricane. “Best day ever!” Barely taking a breath, she launched into a moment-by-moment replay of her first day of first grade. Suddenly, she glanced around. “Where are the guys?”
“At their place. Why?”
“I wanted them to swim with me so I could tell them about my day.”
She looked truly disappointed so Harley called Dex. Laughing, he told her they’d be over in ten minutes. Lexie clapped happily and went to change.
The friends walked into Hart’s house and found themselves attacked by Lexie. She talked a mile a minute about her first day, her teachers, what she learned, who she met, a boy who tried to put gum in her hair who told her she’d have to cut it all off.
Harley snorted. “That’s just silly. I’ve had boys put gum in my hair and Gramma was able to get it right out. Thank goodness, too. Dex and Beck would have had red butts for a week.”
Lexie put her hands on her hips, her mouth open in shock. Turning to the men, she reprimanded them sternly. “No, you did not put gum in Mom’s pretty hair!”
Beck scooped her up and set her on the counter with a grin as Harley went to get towels for the pool.
“That’s what some stupid boys do to girls they like. We’re dreadful until we’re all grown up…then sometimes we’re even worse. Your mom was very patient.”
She tilted her head and reviewed his words carefully. “You guys liked my mom that long ago?” They nodded seriously. “Why don’t you marry her? If she married you guys, I could have lots of baby brothers and sisters.”
Beck’s mouth moved but nothing came out.
Dex started to say, “Well, honey, um…”
She crossed her arms. “Do you like Mom or not?” They both nodded yes. “She says I’m not spoiled at all, that when I ask for something she gives it to me because I’m not greedy. Do you think that’s true about me?” The helpless males nodded slowly.
“I’d like brothers and sisters. It’s easy. I’ve seen pictures of her when she was pregnant with me.” She laughed hysterically. “As soon as she popped me out, she got little again.”
“Am I interrupting something?” Harley asked behind them. They turned and begged silently for help. “What’s this about me popping you out? I gave birth, honey. I didn’t make toast.”
Lexie giggled at that. “What are you torturing the guys about?”
“I want brothers and sisters. I think they should marry you and give me those.”
“Hmm…first things first. Remember that conversation we had about birth moms and dads?” Her daughter nodded. “Tell me what you remember because this is an important conversation.”
“That you’re my birth mom and I have a birth dad. He couldn’t be around when I was born because he was sick but I would meet him when he was better. Right?”
Harley nodded. “You’re so smart, Lexie.” She stroked her hands over the curls so much like her own. “Beck is your birth dad.”
Beck looked like he was holding his breath.
Lexie’s hazel eyes got huge and she whispered, “Beck? My Beck?” Harley nodded. The little girl looked at Beck in wonder. “Were you sick?”
“I was, Lexie.” His voice shook.
“Are you better now?” He nodded. “Good.” She tilted her head. “Were you glad when you could meet me?”
“I was so happy.” He swallowed hard. “I worried that you wouldn’t like me.”
She grinned. “You’re awesome. Why wouldn’t I like you? You and Dex are my favorite people next to Mom. Don’t tell my Hart or Bailey.” Glancing at Harley, she said, “I don’t look like Beck.”
“Beck would make an ugly girl, don’t you think?”
“You’re right! He’s better as a boy.”
“You’re a mix of us. You have my coloring and hair. Your eyes are hazel so sometimes they look blue like Beck’s and sometimes they look green like mine. You’re tall and athletic like both of us.” Harley winked. “You’re very smart…you get that from me.” Beck snorted in agreement. “You even have the same birthmark as Beck.”
“The one on my butt that looks like a crescent moon?”
Harley nodded and thought Beck looked like he could pass out at any moment. Then it was her turn when her daughter turned the tables.
r /> “When did you see Beck’s butt?” She was scandalized.
“Do you remember that book we read that explained about how babies are made?”
Lexie blinked. “I forgot about that book. Boys are gross.” She looked at the men. “I love you but you really are kind of gross.”
They were struggling so hard not to laugh and Harley winked which only made it worse.
With a big sigh, Lexie shook her head. “I can’t believe you did that with Beck to make me but I guess I wouldn’t be here if you didn’t so…it’s okay.” She made a face. “We can wait on brothers and sisters. I don’t want you to have to do that again.”
“Only little boys are gross, baby. They aren’t as gross when they grow up. I promise,” Harley assured her.
Lexie didn’t look convinced. “Are you going to marry them? Then they could live with us.”
“I’ll never get married, honey.” Dex and Beck stared at her but Harley didn’t look at them. Eventually, she’d have to explain why she felt that way but now was not the time.
“You won’t get married? How else will I get to be a flower girl!”
Harley wiggled her brows. “Let’s make Hart get married.”
She seemed to think it over and nodded slowly. “He should marry Aunt Bailey. She loves him so much and when she visits, my Hart acts like the boys my age. I make fun of him and he tells me to hush and not tell anyone…which I completely just did. Oops.”
“We’ll keep the big secret that Hart and Bailey love each other just between us. Let’s hatch an evil plan to get them married and then you can be a flower girl.”
“Let’s go talk about it while we swim!” She hopped down from the counter and ran from the room. At the door, she skidded to a stop and came back to grab Beck’s hand. “Come on, Dad.”
He gave a hitching sob and tugged her to a stop. “You can call me whatever you want, Lexie.”
She grinned. “I just did. Let’s go swim and give Mom and the Dexinator a few minutes.”
They headed for the patio. “Why does he get to be the Dexinator?”
“He can totally kick your butt. We both know that. Don’t be a girl.”
“You are so much like your mom.”
“Heh heh, I sure am. Thanks.”
The moment the sliding glass door closed behind them, Dex turned and boxed Harley against the counter. His mouth claimed hers hungrily.
His smile was warm when he lifted away after little sucking kisses scattered over her lips. “You done good, Jamison.”
“Thanks, Rutledge.” She winked.
Big hands cupped her face. “You were serious about never getting married, weren’t you?” She nodded and wondered if the next few minutes would cause her to lose a man she loved deeply. “Will you tell me why?”
Swallowing hard, she murmured, “Don’t ask me, Dex.”
His thumbs smoothed over her cheeks. “I can see this is a very emotional topic for you. I know how much you love me, Harley. I know that down to the cellular level.”
Her head bobbed. She so wanted him to know and believe the trueness of her heart.
“I love you like that.” The smile he gave her was slow. “So does Beck.” She tried to pull back but he used his body to keep her where she was. “Harley, as long as we’ve loved you, do you think we don’t understand what it must be like for you?”
“Please, Dex. I don’t want to lose you.”
“Why do you think you’d lose me?”
She whispered, “There’s something wrong with me.”
“There’s not a damn thing wrong with you, sweetheart. If there is, the same thing is wrong with us, too. We imprinted on you really young. You did the same to us. I don’t have a single memory that doesn’t have you in it in some way until you were eighteen.”
He hugged her tight and she felt him inhale the scent of her hair. Her arms circled him, silently begging him not to give up on her.
She could beat the thing that lived inside her for Beck.
“Loving you is natural and I never doubted it.” Sparkling black eyes followed his fingers as they traced the contours of her face. “You belong in my heart and I couldn’t turn that off if I tried.” His gaze flicked up to hers. “How much harder it must be for you.”
Her eyes filled with tears and she shook her head. When she worried her lower lip with her teeth, his thumb smoothed over it.
“Right now, we’re going to swim with Lexie. You’re going to slip into that sport two-piece that makes me nuts and let us make you laugh.”
As he started to pull back, she held him in desperation. “Dex…”
This time, he lifted her to the counter and stepped between her legs so they were on eye level. “You aren’t ready to tell me everything and that’s alright, Harley. I love you, exactly the way you are right now, and I know – even if you don’t – that your heart is big enough to share.”
He didn’t let her respond to the statement that shocked her to her core. Instead, he made love to her mouth for a long time and held her tight. In his arms, she always felt safe. Dex protected her in ways she didn’t know before that she needed protecting.
She didn’t feel as if she was being nearly as good to him.
Chapter Sixteen
The days passed as they always did and Harley continued to heal.
Her body would always show the scars from her accident and there were times she had pain that came out of nowhere, but she was getting stronger.
Bailey and her parents didn’t ask her questions about Dex’s role or judge the way she continued to incorporate Beck into their daily lives.
The pre-season started, then the regular season. She, Lexie, and Bailey traveled to every playoff game, watching the Suns advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in two decades.
The three men owned the court in the Seattle arena, working in tandem as they had since they started with a plastic basketball hoop on the Jamison driveway. It had been years since Harley watched the trio play live and it was just as beautiful as she remembered.
When they won the first NBA Championship in Phoenix Suns history, the three females screamed themselves hoarse from the box. Harley and Bailey had contemplated being on the floor but worried about Lexie being trampled and distracting the guys.
Up here, they could sob openly without anyone seeing them. “They did it. They fucking did it, Harley.”
“We knew they would. They were playing too good this year not to take it all the way.”
“I’m going to head back to the hotel.” Her best friend wiped her face and grabbed her bag. “It’s just weird during stuff like this. He should be able to celebrate without me being a shadow.”
“Hey…”
“No, I’ll see you tomorrow. I love you and I’m so fucking proud of our boys.” They watched Bailey walk fast for the elevator and she waved as the doors slid closed.
“Why does she always run away, Mom?”
“Years of practice. Hart has pushed her away so many times, he doesn’t have to anymore.” Shaking her head, she smiled down at her daughter. “I forget you’re seven, sometimes. There are some things I really shouldn’t talk to you about.”
“Yeah, right. You’re my best friend.”
“Let’s go tell them how proud we are and we’ll let them enjoy their success. They worked hard to get here.” Downstairs, she briefly saw Hart and he frowned when he didn’t see Bailey with them. She and Lexie hugged him tight.
“Where’s your girl?”
Hart…when will you wake up?
“She didn’t want to crowd you. Said to keep the fact that tears were shed to myself but to tell you she’s so fucking proud and have fun tonight.” Players shouted his name and she smiled. “Go. We’ll see you tomorrow. You were awesome.”
He hugged her again and said at her ear, “I’m glad you were all here…that she was here to see us win. I love you.” She nodded and he stepped back, ruffling Lexie’s hair before he headed into the locker room.
&
nbsp; Beck did a double take and jogged in their direction. He hugged Harley hard then hoisted Lexie in the air as she screamed in happiness.
“I’m so proud of you, Dad. You did great!”
Harley was moved that he held his daughter close and didn’t hide his tears. He whispered to her and she smiled. Her small hands cupped his face.
“I know, Dad. We love you, too.”
She didn’t see Dex and held Lexie’s hand when Beck put her down. “I can’t stay. You guys have fun and tell Dex to call me when he wakes up. I’ll take you to dinner in a few days to celebrate.”
“Harley…you’re leaving?”
“It’s starting to get mobbed. I’m worried about keeping my feet with Lexie.”
“I didn’t think about that. Are you okay to make it to the car?”
She nodded. “Patrick is coming inside to escort us out.” Their driver was highly protective of her and Lexie. The guys always insisted he travel with them. “Please, please tell Dex how proud I am…for all of you.” He hugged her again and she said, “Well done, Beck.”
“Thanks, Harley.”
They turned away and she saw Patrick searching for them in the crowd. He met them with a smile, blocking so they could work their way to the exit.
Just before she went through the door, she glanced back. Beck still stood where they left him. She waved and he returned it with a sad expression.
Back at the hotel, she tucked Lexie in wearing her Suns jersey. She was asleep almost instantly. Harley sat with her for a few minutes, watching her breathe deeply.
Kissing her forehead, she closed her door most of the way and went to shower. After she dried off, she changed into one of Dex’s t-shirts and boy short panties. With her book and a glass of wine, she attempted to take her mind off subjects she couldn’t deal with at the moment.
An hour later, she answered a knock on the door and Dex stood in the hallway.
“Why did you leave, Harley?” He scooped her into a huge hug and spun her around. “We did it! Oh my god…we really did it.” Then he planted the hottest kiss on her lips.
