Reaching down and stroking his cock, warmth spread from between his legs to his thighs and lower abdomen. It had been a while since he’d last jacked off, but when you lived with your mom, the stolen moments were few and far between and never lasted long enough. Thankfully, he didn’t have to worry about that anymore. And if Josh walked in on him, it would probably prompt his buddy to lock himself away in his own room and pop one off too. Everybody wins!

He shoved up his soiled T-shirt to expose taut abs that pulsed from manual labor. Mitch strengthened his grip around his throbbing dick, stroking long and slow as he rode his entire length and gave particular attention to the sensitive bulbous head. He had been blessed with a generously sized cock that warranted the attention of his teammates in the locker room when he’d played football. Mitch had blossomed before the others, and at first was embarrassed. But by sophomore year, he was proud of his wide shoulders, lean waist, narrow hips, and generous appendage that kept on growing. His teammates would tease him incessantly, making elephant noises in the communal showers. He didn’t care. Mitch knew they were just jealous. Nothing had changed since then. Men still were jealous. When he showered at the gym, Mitch was aware of the sly glances and outright stares. His cock and football, when he had played, was what defined him. What he was known for.

Now it was only his cock.

Arching his spine against the bare mattress, Mitch twisted and teased his engorged shaft, lust filling every cell of his brain and body. He closed his eyes, allowing the fantasy of Austin to take hold. He imagined the man’s tongue flicking his tender nipples, biting and chewing his way between the two and giving Mitch the sweet, sweet torture he desired. Inching back onto the bed, Mitch forced off his sneakers and kicked his pants to the floor. He spat on his hand and started stroking again, the slick natural lubricant heating up with each pass over his shaft. Bringing his knees to his chest, Mitch did the same in his other hand and reached behind him to find his pulsing bud. And when he located the right spot, he pushed a finger in and slowly fucked, keeping pace with his deft strokes over his cock.

“Yes,” he moaned into the quiet room. “Fuck me good.”

It was Austin’s long, lean frame thrusting between his legs, Austin’s sun-kissed face peering down over him with those eyes that unnerved him. Mitch was certain that Austin would make a good lover. He moved with grace, and his body was strong, much like that of a swimmer. Opening his eyes, Mitch imagined Austin’s torso, covered in the perfect amount of light blond hair, angling above him, rivulets of sweat running down his broad forehead and the sides of his face, threatening to rain onto Mitch. Crowding his fingers together, Mitch slowly inched the cluster inward, tugging at the tender flesh of his tight anus. He moaned, the intensity of his erotic daydreaming surprising him. He knew that Austin had made one hell of an impression, but turning him into his fantasy fuck hero was quite the compliment. Mitch’s nuts tightened and jumped, signaling that he was close. He wanted to postpone shooting, but the intensity of his self-pleasure, fueled by Austin’s perfection, was too much to handle. Chasing much-needed relief, Mitch quickened his pace and jacked hard. In what felt like only a second, his vision went black as ropes of cum arched into the air and landed on his abdomen, drenching his skin and shirt. Over and over the pearly liquid came and the shudders of orgasm ravaged his body. Mitch was aware that he was moaning loudly, but it couldn’t be helped. He would face the consequences of the knowing smiles and snickers in the community laundry room if the walls weren’t thick enough to contain his passion, he guessed. Taking in a relaxing breath and blowing out, his entire body went limp with the exception of his cock. If he hurried, he could polish off another before Josh and dinner arrived.

  “How’s the shower pressure?”

Josh threw himself onto the couch and curled his legs up under him. He searched the immediate area. “Where’s the remote? Did you unpack it?”

Mitch walked to a bookcase his favorite aunt had gifted to him when she learned that he was getting his own place. Picking up the remote, he handed it to Josh. “The pressure is great, and call me crazy, but I thought you’d be crackin’ open a cold one and hanging with the boys around the grill. Saw some hot pieces of meat cooking pieces of meat earlier.”

Josh chuckled and shook his head. “All I’m doing is ordering pizza and planting my ass right here. By the way, have you seen my cell phone? I think I might have left it in the car.”

Mitch picked Josh’s phone off the kitchen island, which would double as a breakfast nook, two stools already in place. “I love you, Josh, but I’m not your mommy. Try to keep track of your stuff, or I’m going to start gluing shit to your chest.” He tossed the phone to Josh.

“Make sure to shave me first, please,” Josh said, catching it.

  “Absolutely, bro.”

His hair still damp from the shower and a towel wrapped around his waist, Mitch claimed a seat by Josh. “Please don’t get anything weird on the pizza. I’m not in the mood to try something new.”

“Not even that guy from earlier?” Josh asked. “He’s new and gorgeous—that is if you’re into tall, blond, and well hung.”

“How do you know he’s hung?”

“How many times do I have to tell you,” Josh said, punching a number into the phone. “Look at the bulge first and then the face. That way you know if you’re wasting your time or not.”

“You really are a pig, you know that?”

“I’ll take that as a compliment.”

Mitch made a derisive noise with his throat as Josh ordered a large pizza with double pepperoni. Remembering he wanted to ask Josh a question that had come to him in the shower, Mitch waited for him to hang up the phone.

“I wanted to ask you something about Austin.”

  “Who?”

  “The well-hung massage therapist.”

  “Yeah. What about him?”

“I have a vague recollection of meeting him before today, but I can’t place where.”

Josh shrugged. “All the queers go to the same gym, same bars. My guess is you have.”

  “You’re probably right.”

“Or maybe he’s the man of your fantasies? You know, the One, and it’s a déjà vu thing.”

If you only knew. “I don’t have only one,” Mitch answered.

“Incredible,” Josh said, shaking his head. “You can’t even pretend to commit even when fantasizing.”

“Commit?” Mitch almost choked on the word. “I’m too young for that, and so are you. We have years ahead of us before we do something that stupid.”

“So you admit that you will one day?”

“Most do, but I have no intention on rushing it. Who knows where I’ll be in five years from now? Hell, I don’t even know where I’ll be next week.”

Josh scoffed. “I hope it’s here since we just signed a year’s lease.”

“You know what I mean.” Mitch paused as Josh turned on the television and started the inevitable channel surfing. “Sorry, but I guess I’ve been frustrated lately. I didn’t think that I’d still be in Sarasota taking prerequisite courses at the community college and working part-time at a gym. Right now, I should be at one of the big universities on a football scholarship living it up.”

  “Think of the bright side.”

Mitch shot Josh a questioning glance. “There’s a bright side?”

“If you were at Clemson or Miami or Florida State, you wouldn’t be here with your best friend”—Josh pointed to his face, continuing to talk—“waiting for pizza on this fabulous Goodwill find.” He patted the couch.

“I guess you’re sick of my griping.” For the second time that evening, he apologized. “Sorry. I’ll stop feeling sorry for myself. My injuries could’ve been much worse, so I should feel grateful instead of resentful.”

“That sounds like something your mom would say.”

“You know me better than I know myself sometimes.”

  “Don’t ever feel yo
u can’t tell me how you’re feeling.” Josh relaxed into the cushions. “Bitch, gripe, cuss, jump up and down, and throw the mother of all tantrums, I’ll never think less of you. I love you, bro.”

“Same goes for you if you ever feel the need to unload.”

“How’s the job at the gym?”

“I’m enjoying it,” Mitch said. “Nice owner. Good to be around like-minded people who are into fitness.”

“How’s the locker room?” Josh arched an eyebrow, and a mischievous smile stretched across his lips.

“That reminds me. You know that new member you asked about?”

“The one with the incredible shoulders?”

  “Yep.”

  “And the perfectly round ass?”

  Mitch nodded. “Uh-huh.”

  “What about him?”

Mitch raised his right hand to eye level and stuck out his pinky.

Josh gasped. “Dude,” he moaned, clutching his hands to his chest. “Say it ain’t so.”

“Then I would be a liar, and I never lie to my friends.”

“Why is that always the case,” Josh said, referring to the man’s less than suitable manhood.

“But the rest of him is stellar.”

“I think I’ve lost my appetite.”

“Want me to ring back the restaurant and cancel the order?”

“Nah.” Josh cocked his head. “The cute delivery guy is on tonight. Laying eyes on that handsome man will cheer me up.”

“You really are simple, but you have to believe me when I say, I mean that in the best possible way.”

Josh slugged Mitch in the arm, Josh too fast for Mitch to dodge the blow. “Of course you do, dude. Of course you do.”

At that moment, the doorbell screeched to life, causing them to jump. Josh stared at the door. “We have to tear that thing out. It sounds like a cat in heat.”

“That’s not the only thing in heat,” Mitch returned. “Go answer it.”

Finger-combing his hair and jogging toward the door, Josh tossed Mitch the television remote. “Put something smart on like the History Channel or Science Channel.”

Mitch looked at the wide-screen TV previously unaware of what was playing. “What’s the matter with COPS? That guy standing on the other side of the door holding our dinner has probably been on it once or twice himself.”

“Are you saying I have poor judgment when it comes to men?”

“You chose me as your best friend so it can’t be all that bad.”

“I’m starting to see things a bit more clearly,” Josh said over his shoulder. “Maybe you’re right. Maybe I do surround myself with total losers.”

“Just answer the door before I put straight porn on and ruin your chances with Mister Double Pepperoni.”

  Chapter Three

Resting his forearms on the railing and gazing down at the pool below, Mitch got lost in the sparkling blue water illuminated by a pool light, enjoying his well-fed belly. Crescent-shaped formations of light danced around the center courtyard of the apartment complex, bouncing off the cinderblock walls painted a shade of pale mint. Mitch regretted complaining like a spoiled kid to Josh and hoped his friend hadn’t taken it personally. Moving out of his mother’s home and in with Josh was the right thing to do, but if he was being honest with himself, he would rather be living his lifelong dream of playing college ball with his sights set on going pro.

Unfortunately, that would never happen. Andy McCoy, linebacker for Saint Ignatius High saw to that.

Mitch would never forget the name of the guy who altered his life forever by tearing three of the four ligaments in his left knee and was responsible for stealing his dreams of being a professional football player forever. Mitch relived that one defining moment more often than he cared to admit.

  And so did his father.

Christopher Montgomery had stuck a football in Mitch’s hands before he could walk. It was his father’s dream to have his one and only son succeed where he had failed, since Christopher’s football career had ended in college. He’d had talent but nothing like Mitch.

When they had received the news about the extent of his injuries, Mitch’s relationship with his father had changed. At first, Mitch noticed the smaller things, like spending less time watching and discussing plays, which they’d analyzed together on Sunday afternoons between commercial breaks. And now after the divorce, Mitch was lucky if he saw him at all. Christopher was a chief financial officer for a local pharmaceutical company on the brink of going public. Mitch couldn’t help but think that if he were still playing, Christopher would be around cheering him on like before. But there was no reason to cheer anymore. No reason for much anymore.

After inhaling deeply, Mitch blew out once again, reminding himself to put the past in the past. He had his health, looks, his parents’ financial support, and a damn hot ride gifted to him for graduation. He suspected it was a guilt or sympathy-driven decision—or possibly both—on his parents’ part, since he graduated with a less than average GPA. It stung when the realization set in, but when Mitch sank down in the black leather driver’s seat and gripped the steering wheel, any self-pity melted away and was replaced by unadulterated joy.

A shard of light spilling from an open door attracted Mitch’s attention. It was from Austin’s apartment. Mitch stepped into the shadows as he watched Austin—dressed in a dark-colored square-cut swimsuit and a towel casually draped over his shoulder—heading toward the flight of stairs that led down to the pool. This was exactly what he needed to clear his thoughts, a wet, half-naked man always a welcomed form of entertainment.

His heart beating quick and steady, Mitch watched as Austin reached the pool and in one swift movement, tossed the towel on a lounge chair then sliced the clear blue water almost soundlessly. Mitch could nearly feel the chill of the water race over his body as he gazed at Austin skimming along the bottom then arching upward to break the surface.

  He is magnificent.

The heady combination of night-blooming jasmine, hibiscus, and chlorine fueled Mitch’s senses and imagination. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from the seemingly flawless creature on display, for what felt like his eyes only. His cock growing hard, Mitch’s need to possess the man, to experience everything he had to offer, was the only thought he was capable of having. Instinct took over as he managed to walk barefooted down the concrete stairs, which led to the pool. Instead of taking a seat at one of the many lounge chairs, he decided to hang his legs in the water and get a closer look. It was a full two minutes before Austin became aware of Mitch’s presence.

“Hey,” Austin greeted with a sly smile.

“Is this a nightly thing, or did I happen to get lucky?” Mitch leaned his weight on his hands behind him, returning the smile.

Austin brushed a wet hand over his face and hair, maneuvering his lean legs in the water. “Swimming helps me relax, helps me sleep.” Short breaths due to exertion fell from Austin’s parted lips. “At this time of night, most people are either asleep or at the bars.”

“Being here with you is much nicer than being stuck in a noisy bar full of trolls groping my ass.”

  “Does that happen often?”

“Every time I take this ass out.”

  “Can you blame them?”

Mitch cocked his head. “Nope.” He paused, daring himself to continue. “What do you think about it?”

Austin seemed to struggle in the water a bit. “Are we still talking about your ass?”

“Would you like to change the subject?”

Visibly swallowing, Austin shook his head.

Standing, Mitch stripped off his shirt and allowed it to drop to the ground.

“What are you doing?” Austin asked, his long arms slowly waving just below the water’s surface.

“What does it look like I’m doing?”

He didn’t wait for Austin’s response.

After tugging down his gym shorts, he stepped out from them, his obvious erection visible in the
moonlight. Mitch sucked in his breath and dived headfirst into the deep end, the water warmer than he’d expected. He curled his body and pushed off the bottom of the pool. He shot upward and broke the surface. Less than a foot in front of him, Austin’s darkening eyes bored into him.

“Like I said, much better than the bars,” Mitch stated, swimming in place and standing his ground as if challenging Austin to make the first move.

  “You’re pretty fearless,” Austin said.

“What’s there to be afraid of?”

  “A criminal record?”

“How do you know I don’t already have one?” Mitch asked jokingly. “I might’ve been busted for swimming naked in a public pool with an attractive guy, having to do one hundred hours of community service as my sentence.”

“What did you do for your community service?”

“I had to suck off the entire Sarasota County police force. I got really good at sucking cock.”

  Austin sputtered, taking in water.

Mitch chuckled, enjoying the effect he was having on Austin. “Why aren’t you wrapped in my arms yet?”

  “I might have a boyfriend.”

  “Haven’t seen one around.”

  “You just moved in.”

“If you were mine, I’d never leave your side. I’d want you by me twenty-four seven, preferably naked.”

  “You’re the one who’s naked.”

“And hard.” Mitch ran his tongue over his bottom lip, quick and hungry. “You hard?”

Austin maneuvered closer. “You tell me.”

Mitch took that as an invitation. He searched under the water to find Austin’s substantial bulge. “I’d have to say yes,” he said, massaging Austin’s cock through the thin material of his trunks.

Austin arched his head back and released a moan. “That feels incredible.”

“What would your boyfriend say if he found us doing this?”
