She arched a brow at him. “I suppose you think I’m having the time of my life, stuck here in this bed with a bunch of musclebound meatheads – yeah, I’m looking at you Mikey – poking me and turning my brain inside out.”

“You’ve been through quite the ordeal and deserve to have your every whim blatantly and unapologetically indulged once you are strong enough.” Aslada’s charm was verging on outrageous, and I had to snicker at the performance.

Mom wasn’t impressed. “You’re full of shi—uh, crap.” She remembered Anrel.

“You wouldn’t be the first to reach that conclusion. Still, Shalia and Anrel need a break for their own good.”

Mom snorted. “When did you become a doctor, Al?”

  “Aslada. Meyso and Kini agree.”

“Yeah, Goofus and Doofus’s opinions matter to me.” Despite her disdain, Mom’s gaze slid to me. “You and the baby have been here a lot though. You should run off for a little while. I can’t have you getting sick of me.”

“I’m not sick of you,” I protested. “You’re recovering from some serious stuff.”

“Whatever. Get out of here. Take Anrel out for some air. Have a blast. Get laid, if these clowns are any good. Are they?”

“Jeez, Mom,” I sighed. “You need barriers.”

“I am curious,” she said, her expression quizzical. “Is their stuff in proportion to the rest of them? Big and meaty?”

I claimed Anrel from her. “We’ll see you later, Mom. Don’t give Dr. Kini too much of a hard time.”

“If I don’t, he’ll keel over in shock. You three, don’t core her like an apple, right? She might be planning on more kids, so don’t wear her stuff out.”

Sweet prophets, save me from that woman.

We left the clinic staff to Mom’s tender mercies. I stepped outside to bask in bright, warm sunlight, heading towards the shuttle bay. Anrel chortled, and Meyso scooped her from my arms to adore her with kisses and silly faces.

“Wow, fresh air,” I said as Aslada took my arm. “I’m a butterfly coming out of a cocoon.”

“You’ve cooped yourself up with your mother for too long,” Aslada sighed. “We should have insisted you take a break before this, but we knew how worried you were for her. We were afraid you’d resist until she was better.”

I had to shake my head and giggle. “She’s giving everyone hell now. That’s a pretty good indication that she’s on the road to recovery. Thanks to Meyso.”

He grinned at me as he bounced a happy Anrel in his arms. “It has been my pleasure to be a part of her recovery.”

“Even with all the insults and yelling? And crude questions?” I wondered what they really thought of her.

Jaon threw his head back and laughed. “I always look forward to hearing what Matara Eve will come up with next. She says exactly what is on her mind and doesn’t care how anyone feels about it. It’s refreshing to hear someone so blunt.”

Trust a Nobek to enjoy Mom’s potty mouth. “Seriously, guys. There must be moments when you imagine shoving a towel in her trap to shut her up.”

Meyso shook his head. “You told us what to expect. She has been through a lot. Not just her mental issues, but also the repressive atmosphere she came from. She’s enjoying her freedom to say exactly what’s on her mind with no repercussions. I can’t imagine how liberating that must be.”

I rolled my eyes. “She was plenty liberated back on Earth when it was just her and me and no one else was around.”

We had reached the bay. We climbed in the clan’s big shuttle and had a seat. Aslada waved a careless hand at the pilot. “We’re ready as planned.”

The decision on where we would go had already been made. I wondered where we were off to, but I had another question first. I looked at Aslada, who sat next to me and held my hand.

“You’re quiet on how Mom’s attitude is affecting you,” I noted.

He considered a few moments before answering. “I have no problem with Matara Eve. In fact, I enjoy the challenge of winning her regard.” He gave me an evil grin. “I have to deal with politicians who work against me without pause. Do you believe Matara Eve’s insults could truly hurt me?”

  He had a point.

He shook a finger at the ceiling of the shuttle, as if making a vow to God. “I’ll make that woman adore me. It has become my mission in life.”

I joined in the laughter. Far from making Clan Aslada run for the hills, Mom’s response had convinced them to try all the harder to win her over. Despite her best – or would that be worst? – efforts, they like her.

“So what’s got you thinking so hard?” I asked.

His humor didn’t vanish, but it did dim. “I’m worried. With all the stress you’re under, due to her recovery, my clan is not getting a fair shake. We’re not able to show you much fun. You aren’t experiencing all we can offer you and Anrel.”

Meyso and Jaon nodded in agreement. They were concerned about the same issue.

I squeezed Aslada’s hand. “We aren’t having a ton of laughs, are we? You know what? It’s giving me more insight into the kind of men you are than if we were.”

Jaon’s brow creased. “In what way?”

“Life isn’t one laugh after another. Particularly mine, sadly enough. It’s easy to be friends and lovers when life is going great and we’re all at our best. It’s when life falls apart that you discover who will stick by you and put up with the storms. That’s when you know who you can count on in the worst situations.”

Meyso searched my face. “Are you finding you can rely on us?”

“Absolutely.” My heart warmed to them, these three men who treated Mom in all her temperamental glory with patience, kindness, and even admiration. “Not only have you been wonderful to my mother, but you’ve gone above and beyond all expectations to keep me sane as well. I could never show you all the gratitude you deserve.”

There was a sense of relief from the clan. I was amazed they had been so worried about the matter and glad I could put their minds at ease.

“Where are we going?” As if it mattered. I was overjoyed to spend quality time with the fellas.

“You’ll see,” Aslada beamed, kissing the back of my hand. “A short but intense escape is in order. Relax and enjoy.”

I wondered what he meant by ‘intense’, especially with Anrel with us. The shuttle was already landing, so I was about to find out.

I stepped into a paradisiacal setting. We were in a lush, wooded area below large granite outcroppings. Nearby was a pool of water, fed by a waterfall. It was stunning with the jewel-colored leaves trembling in a slight breeze and water skipping down the rock face to splash the pool.

At first, I thought it must be a popular spot to visit until I realized the men moving about the edge of the pond all belonged to Clan Aslada’s staff. They were setting out seating cushions, small tables, and food. Nomol was there at a small bar that had been set out, mixing drinks and pouring.

Snoy hurried over to commandeer Anrel. He held his arms out to her, and she went to him with a crow of recognition. He swept her to a small table with a sun cover, where three of the kitchen staff swarmed with her food and formula.

The clan’s shuttle departed, leaving us to our little Eden and a couple dozen of the household’s workforce. Aslada and Meyso took my arms and led me to another table. The head chef of the clan’s household was directing his staff as they set out the meal. Nomol brought over our drinks.

You’d think I would have gotten used to the clan’s opulent lifestyle by now. Betra’s parent clan’s beach party a few weeks ago had been similar. But no, I was overwhelmed yet again. The way rich people picnic was so far beyond me. Nice, but weird too.

We ate and drank. Dishes disappeared and appeared as the efficient staff presented five courses. Nomol kept our drinks fresh. Anrel was fed, and Snoy left with her in a small shuttle, heading to Clan Aslada’s home to put her down for a nap. Meanwhile, my beaus kept up an easy flow of conversation. The subj
ects were pleasant. No stressful matters were spoken of. If I started to veer into worrisome territory, someone changed the topic. They weren’t kidding about me taking a break.

When we’d finished eating, the staff cleared all evidence of our meal with a speed that stunned. Two shuttles touched down minutes later, taking the workers, dishes, and furniture with them. I was left alone with the clan. In paradise. The possibilities could not be denied.

Fortunately, Aslada, Meyso, and Jaon agreed. As soon as the shuttles disappeared, our clothes went flying off. We dashed for the pool of water.

Well, the guys dashed, at any rate. Surefooted as goats, they hurried over the wet rocks surrounding the water and jumped in. Mindful of the slippery surface, I eased to the edge of a monstrous boulder and waited for the trio to surface and clear their eyes. As soon as they did, I cannonballed in the middle of them. I was filled with childish delight.

I kicked up to air to hear the last of their splutters. I laughed gleefully at my trick, and they answered with laughter of their own.

With the exception of Oses, Clan Aslada are the most serious men I’ve been with. Yet they’ve had their lighthearted moments, and it was good to see them let go of responsibility. Even Jaon loosened his Nobek dignity to frolic a bit. We dove and chased each other, dunking and splashing like a bunch of kids. I forgot I had a sick mother for a short while. The guys forgot they were high-ranking, ridiculously rich Kalquorians with reputations to uphold. We lived in the moment, relieved of obligations for a short while.

The waterfall caught my attention. It splashed from on high and creating dozens of smaller cascades as it crashed its treacherous path down the granite face of a craggy cliff. I swam to the rocks that sat almost level with the pool to sit and let the spray wash over me.

Three pairs of purple eyes riveted on me, naked with water streaming over my body. I wasn’t on that rock alone for long. In a flash, they surrounded me. Mouths closed over my skin, and tongues lapped the spray playing over my flesh.

Jaon cradled me in his arms, lifting me from the hard boulder that would have proven uncomfortable to play upon within a few minutes. Strong brown hands added to the fondling. They squeezed my breasts, pinched my nipples, and occasionally spanked. Fingers dove in me, drumming and stretching. Lightning zapped, making my gut broil with want.

Lust burned in their eyes. Even calm, cool Meyso’s face was filled with brutal craving as he eagerly mauled. I could barely breathe for how their sensual assault excited me. My head swam.

They weren’t cruel, but they weren’t gentle either. They were exacting, their demands on me making me wet and desperate to be filled. Jaon and Aslada held me as Meyso massaged my clit with slow, careful strokes until I pleaded with them to finish me. Only when my begging had reached desperate cries did they lift me up. They sat me on Jaon’s lap, my back to his chest, his primary cock spearing my ass.

He held my thighs apart, opening me for Aslada’s larger shaft. Standing on a rock beneath the water’s surface, the Dramok shoved in deep, forcing me to take him. I squalled at the delicious fullness that was torture and bliss.

Meyso stood over us, his cocks jutting. He cupped my chin in his palm, lifting my face so that I could accept his need. His thick length drove into my mouth, stopping just short of choking.

Jaon held still as my mouth and pussy were fucked by the others. His cock in my ass made Aslada’s thrusts all the more intense, the friction overloading my senses. Meyso’s shaft spurted pre-cum continuously as he plunged against my tongue. I swallowed, feeding on the natural lubricant he exuded and the spicier teases of seed.

I was awash in the decadent ecstasy that came from their demanding use. I felt carnal, a base creature rutting with the strongest of males, the only males who could claim me. I was theirs to fuck until they were sated, existing for their pleasure.

I came that way, being pounded into rapture. My channels flexed, goading Jaon and Aslada to join me in my elation. They resisted, but they groaned to feel me climaxing around them.

I orgasmed again when Meyso jetted into my mouth. By then, he’d gone from holding my chin to gripping me by a fistful of hair. I swallowed his seed as my lower body spasmed, each convulsion stronger than the last, as if fed by the Imdiko’s passion.

The third explosion came the instant I felt Aslada’s cocks jerking inside me. He let go, his magnificent body straining as he emptied his lust into me. Our cries mingled. His were loud enough that he startled winged, lizard-like creatures out of the nearby trees and into flight.

Meyso took the Dramok’s place in front of me, holding me so that Jaon could pound his rigid length in my ass. He didn’t take long, but I achieved one final climax just the same.

Their excitement fed mine. It was as if each drop of desire increased my craving for them, igniting me into an inferno with each spark. They fed me, but I only responded by becoming more ravenous.

“Ancestors,” Aslada gasped, trying to pull himself together. “You might be too much woman for a single clan, Shalia.”

We took our leisure to recover, letting the waterfall cool our heated bodies. Once we’d gotten dressed and ensured we were all quite presentable, Aslada called his pilot to bring the shuttle and pick us up.

I went back to Mom refreshed. She took a look at my smug smile and rolled her eyes.

  October 31

It had to happen sooner or later, but I wasn’t quite certain how to handle it when Mom asked me today, “Who is Anrel’s father?”

At least she waited to ask when we were alone. If she was going to call me every name in the book, I hated to have an audience. A part of me is all too aware of what would have happened to me on Earth had I been discovered to not be a virgin. I’m safe from persecution on Kalquor, but I cringed when Mom brought it up. I expected judgment to come from somewhere.

However, I made no attempt to mince words when it came to answering. “I’m not sure who her father is. I can point out the two most probable candidates, though there are four possibilities.”

Mom gave me a look that was hard to read. “Four?”

“Three are in the same clan.”

“In that situation, if you bang one, you gotta bang them all,” Mom guessed.

I shrugged. “The fourth guy was in a clan too, but his clanmates don’t desire women. They never entered the equation.”

Mom mused over that for a few minutes. I waited, wondering if there would be an explosion. Instead, she asked me, “Where are they?”

“As far as I’m aware, the clan is on Earth. The other guy is trying to get here. He wants to be a part of mine and Anrel’s life, but he’s not welcome.”

I told Mom the whole story of young Clan Dusa and how they weren’t together long enough for me to join as their Matara. How though I adored them, I hadn’t been certain they were who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. How they had cut me out of their lives, insisting I find a good clan and fathers for Anrel.

I also told her about Nang, his obsession with me and Anrel, his attempt to reach Kalquor and make us a family. It took a good hour of talking to bring Mom up to speed on how it had shaken out so far.

At the end of it, Mom shook her head. “You picked a real winner there.”

I was relieved she wasn’t yelling and calling me a slut or whore. “Yeah, I seem to have a knack for it.”

“You must have got your taste in men from me. Lord knows, the only thing your father did right was to knock me up with you. He was pretty worthless otherwise. Same for the other guys I hooked up with. At least David was decent in bed. He didn’t lay there like a slug and wait for me to do it all.”

I’d rather rip my ears off than hear about Mom having sex, but since she was being so understanding, I made no effort to stop her from talking about her past lovers.

Mom was done with that, thank goodness. She gave me another sharp look. “If that Clan Dusa showed up and wanted to clan you, would you do it?”

Hmm. That thought had been on the f
ringes of my consciousness ever since I found out my dads were heading home. It seemed I’d been working on the question subconsciously, because I knew the answer.

“No. I would not.” My tone was certain. “It could be awfully Earther of me to feel this way, but they haven’t exerted any effort to as far as Anrel is concerned. They not only cut me off, but my child as well. They don’t deserve to be her fathers.”

My answer wasn’t completely honest, because I’d talked to Nobek Esak when he warned me about Nang coming after us, and he had asked about the baby. Yet it had been more of an afterthought, hadn’t it? We happened to talk, so he’d taken the opportunity. He hadn’t contacted me to learn how his maybe-daughter was doing.

I realized in that moment that Anrel had been the sole test I’d set for Clan Dusa and any future we might have had. Even though Kalquorian custom dictated that they give up all claims on Anrel, I felt they should have wanted to know how she was doing.
