  “That bastard.”

“He always made me fly commercial. Always. That was Alex.”

  “Where is your first layover?”

  “Miami.”

“I will get you a reservation to return to Apple Valley. It is time for us to act.”

“And it will all be over?”

  “It will all be over.”

Ninochka smiled. “Now it is good for me,” she said. “That bastard. Now it is good!”

  CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

The Student Monitor handed the name to the teacher and the teacher looked out at her quiet classroom. “Jordan Grant?” she called out.

Jordan looked up from his book. “Ma’am?”

  “Dean’s office.”

Jordan swallowed hard. What now, he wondered as he got up from his desk and followed the monitor out of the classroom. He assumed it was his mother. Maybe she was there to tell him it was over between she and Alex, and she wanted him to hear it from her first. Or maybe she just wanted to make sure he was okay. His mother, he knew, was like that.

But he was wrong on all counts. Standing at the front desk, in that same tailored suit he wore that morning, but only with shades covering his eyes, was Alex Drakos.

Jordan felt a sense of excitement and dread too. What did he want? And why wasn’t his mother with him?

“Hello, Jordan,” Alex said as he made his way by his side.

Jordan could see all those old ladies in the dean’s office staring at them, as if they wanted to see for themselves what his visit was about. But he wasn’t thinking about them. What did Alex want, was all he could think about.

  “Let’s walk,” Alex said.

Jordan looked at the Dean. She wasn’t going to object? She was going to just let them go walking? It wasn’t heard of at their school! But Alex Drakos always got liberties regular people never dreamed of getting. They went for a walk around the campus.

Alex kept his hands in his pants pockets as they walked, and Jordan, feeling a little awkward, placed his hands in his pockets too. He was going to listen. He needed to know what Alex had to say.

“I did a terrible thing,” Alex said as they walked.

Jordan looked at him. What a way to begin!

“I kept a part of my life a secret from your mother, and it upset her greatly. And rightly so. It upset you.”

Jordan looked away from him. He still remembered how he pushed Alex away from that bedroom door last night. It haunted him all night long.

“I should have told her about my marriage to Ninochka. I should have told her, after it was discovered that Ninochka was indeed alive, that the automatic divorce I thought I had was now null and void.”

“Are you going to divorce her?” Jordan asked.

“Yes. Absolutely! As I said last night, it will be an uncontested divorce. The paperwork is already being submitted.”

  “How long does it take?”

Alex hated to go there, but Jordan had a right to know. “If I can bribe everybody involved,” he said, “it could take from a couple months to nine or ten.”

“And if you can’t bribe everybody?” Jordan asked.

“It could take a matter of years.”

Jordan hated to hear that. Years? Where would that leave his mother? “I don’t know if she’s willing to wait that long for you,” he said.

Alex laughed. It was only a testament to how highly Jordan thought of his mother, and Alex loved it! “She certainly shouldn’t wait that long for anybody,” he said. “But I think she just might for me.”

Jordan looked at Alex, as if he was considering the possibility. He pushed his glasses up on his face and nodded. “I think, for you, she just might too.”

Alex playfully wiped his forehead with the back of his hand. “That’s a relief!” he said jokingly.

But Jordan was still a little too shell-shocked from last night to joke around. “What did Mom say?” he asked. “You guys made up?”

Alex smiled and nodded. “Yes, Jordan,” he said. “Thankfully, we made up.”

Jordan smiled, too, and felt a sense of relief for the first time since yesterday. “I’m glad,” he said. “But one word of advice?”

Alex hesitated. There was a time he wouldn’t allow some kid to give him any type of advice. But Jordan was different. “I’m open to advice,” he said.

“Don’t keep things from Ma.” Jordan looked at him. “She really doesn’t like that.”

Alex nodded, heartfelt. “I promise you I will never do that again,” he said. “I wouldn’t like it either.” And he couldn’t help it. He reached out, placed his arm around Jordan’s waist, and pulled him to his side.

They walked that way all the way around the school’s track. And then around again.

  CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

Two weeks later and life was getting back to normal in Apple Valley. Kari had the new contract with Bill Gillette’s company, and was busy hiring additional maids, while Alex remained in town for the entire two weeks, totally attentive to Kari and Jordan, and overseeing his casino construction. Oz was back in New York, as Alex’s man at the Drakos Corporation, but even he showed up on weekends. It was all good.

Until early one Friday morning when Alex asked Kari to drop by his house after she took Jordan to school, and word came that they found who Alex had been searching for.

“I’m up here,” Alex yelled down as soon as Kari unlocked his door (with the key he had given her). She locked the door back and made her way upstairs. It didn’t take a genius to know what he was doing upstairs. Although Kari did not allow him to spend the night at her house, they were together most nights and, lately, most mornings.

And when she made it upstairs, to Alex’s bedroom, and she saw him naked on his bed rubbing his dick that was already half-aroused, she smiled. “This is getting to be a habit,” she said.

“Only if you take off your clothes and come here.”

Kari wasn’t crazy about getting dressed only to get undressed again, but she was crazy about Alex, and that telegram pole of a cock he had in his hands. She gladly undressed.

She got on top of him, straddling him, and he pulled her down, in his arms, and kissed her with a long, searing kiss. He rubbed her womanhood, and fingered her, as they kissed.

And when his fingers became wet with her juice, he pulled it out with a slow slide out, and then put his fully-aroused cock in. Kari sat up straight, still straddling him, and rode him hard.

Alex loved when she rode him upright. The muscles inside of her vagina would tighten, and his cock would glide across a passageway that became even more narrower than it already was. Which made him feel the sensations to the roots of his hair.

He loved the way her hair flapped down over her forehead, concealing one of her sensual, smoky eyes, and the way her breasts bobbed wildly as she rode him. He’d never had a woman excite him the way Kari turned him on.

Those mornings with her were becoming more and more precious to him. Not because they were making love, but because he was making love to Kari. That was what mattered most to Alex. He could fuck some woman all day long if he wanted to. But ever since he met Kari, he didn’t want to. All he wanted was her.

And he got a full dose of her that morning. She was riding him with a rhythm that was all her own, where her ass was gliding over his thighs and causing his balls to rub against her too, and where her stomach was pushing in and out to contract her vaginal muscles at the exact right moments that his cock was inside of her with its deepest penetration.

It felt so good that, in that position, Alex almost always came before Kari did. He didn’t mean to. Each morning he said he wasn’t going to allow himself to be pleasured before Kari got hers. But lately, he had been failing miserably. He came first again. He shot out that red-hot liquid inside of her with such a heavy release that it took Kari over too.

When she began to have her orgasm, her face became emotional and she laid down on Alex’s chest. He held her tightly as she experienced t
he climax with him. He took over the stroking: he kept pushing it in and almost out of her repeatedly as they came.

But Kari was still in charge. She was still the catalyze of a cum that was so subtle and endearing, yet so intense and sensual, that it was their best sex yet. Which, for them, was saying everything!

Their relationship was back on track, not by happenstance, but because they were working hard to get it back on track. Kari at his beck and call. Alex at Kari’s beck and call. The two of them giving it their all for love.

And their love was powerful. So powerful that their cum lasted a long time. Alex thought they were going to cum again. But they didn’t have the energy to take it that far. They, instead, laid in each other’s arms, Alex continued to stroke until his cock stopped throbbing and her vagina stopped pulsating, and the feelings eventually ebbed out.

But they remained where they were: Kari remained on top of Alex, her head on his chest, with his arms around her. They remained that way, unwilling to get up and get their behinds to work, because it felt so calming. But Kari still had their future on her mind.

“Any word from the lawyers?” she asked him.

Alex had that very topic on his mind, too. It had been two weeks. “I talked to them late last night,” he said. “They’re making progress, but it’s not pretty. When word gets out that big money’s being spread around, everybody’s got their hands out. The bribe net continues to increase to get any results. But they’re working on it. Day and night.”

  Kari nodded. “Good.”

“Don’t worry, babe,” Alex said, pulling her tighter into his big, warm arms. “I’ll go to the Ukraine myself if I have to. My lawyers won’t like it, but I’m not letting that shit take years.”

“Why wouldn’t your lawyers want you to get involved?”

“Because it’ll be too obvious. In Ukraine, it has to be seen as completely legal and above board. It won’t be, but it has to be seen that way. We can’t do any face-to-face bribes. It all has to be couched, as if nobody knows what a bribe is. But we’ll see. If they get results, I’m happy to play it their way. If they don’t get results, then I’ll play it my way.”

Kari smiled. “I hope they get results.”

  “So do I,” he said.

  “You heard from that lady?”

That was the name Kari used for Narnia: that lady. It was still too painful to say her true name: the second Mrs. Alex Drakos.

“No,” he said. “She went back to that village in the Ukraine, or back to her hometown in the Ukraine, or wherever the hell she went, and is keeping a low profile. And don’t worry. Ninochka knows me. She’ll keep her profile low until the divorce is final.”

“But . . . you say it’s uncontested. Does that mean you’re giving her nothing?”

Alex frowned. “Damn right I’m giving her ass nothing. She was alive for six years and didn’t bother to tell me shit. She let me believe she was dead. And although she didn’t know the backstory, she knew she was carrying my child. She knew she could have told me something!”

“You thought, all those years, that you were responsible for her death,” Kari said.

“And the death of our unborn child, yes. If only she would have told me something. We were going to be married in name only anyway. We both had agreed to that. Why wouldn’t she just tell me she was okay and didn’t want to have anything to do with me? What did she think I was going to do? I would have supported her financially, which was our agreement. I would have supported my child. But we weren’t going to live any life together. She knew that. And you’re asking me if she gets something out of this divorce? What the fuck do I owe her? She’d better be glad she’s getting out of this divorce with her life.”

Kari had touched a sore spot with Alex. A very deep sore spot. She quickly laid it to rest, and promptly changed the subject to lighter fare. And she turned over on top of Alex, where her back was against his chest. She knew he liked the feel of her ass against his dick. And immediately he responded to her new position by placing one hand between her legs, and another around her breast: fondling it. “I’m going out tonight,” she said to him.

  “Without me?” he asked her.

  “That’s right.”

“I don’t think so.” Then he looked at her. “Why would you want to go out without me?”

“Lucinda called. She and Faye want a Ladies Night Out tonight. That’s why. They want me to go out with them. Now, if you want to insist on coming along with us ladies?”

Alex smiled. “No, I think I’ll take a pass.”

“Sure?” Kari said with a laugh and started play-dancing on top of him. “It’ll be Friday night, the groove will be right, and we’re going to par-ty. Par-ty. Par-ty!” She laughed again.

“Question is,” Alex asked, knowing her all too well, “are you going to actually go?”

Kari exhaled. “They think I can use a night out, and so do I. So yeah, I think so.”

“You think so? Don’t fuck with me,” he said with a smile. “You’re looking forward to it!”

Kari laughed again. “Okay, okay, I am. Yes, I am! I think we ladies will have some fun.”

  “Just don’t overdo it.”

Kari grinned as Alex’s cell phone rang. “Do I ever overdo anything?” she asked.

“Yes,” he said, and Kari was laughing yet again.

Alex looked at his Caller ID. It was Tino. He answered quickly. “Hey,” he said. “Got something for me?”

“Yes, sir. We have surveillance on Felix Petropoulous as we speak.”

  “Where?”

  “They found him in Trenton.”

Alex exhaled. He hated to leave town at all. But he knew he had to handle this himself. “Okay. Tell them not to let him out of their sight. I’ll get there as soon as I can.”

“Do you want to safe house him until you can get there?” Tino asked.

“No. My brother is in New York. I’ll send Oz to handle it. He’ll be the safe house.”

“Yes, he will,” Tino said with a chuckle, and they ended the call.

When the call ended, Kari asked the relevant question. “Where this time?” she asked.

“New Jersey,” he said. “But I’ll be back as quickly as I can get back. By tonight hopefully.”

Kari believed him. “At least it’s in the country,” she said.

Alex agreed, called Oz and told him to get his ass over to Jersey to keep an eye on Felix until he could get there. And then Alex put his dick inside of Kari, and he fucked her again.

  CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

The SUV stopped across the street, near a poolhall, and Felix Petropoulous, one of Alex’s former security men, stood on the corner with two other hustlers.

“There’s that motherfucker,” Alex said. He was behind the wheel, and Oz was on the passenger side.

“But what do you think some punk like him would know?” Oz asked.

“Maybe nothing. But I’m going to find out,” Alex said and got out of the car. Oz got out too. But before Alex could even walk around to the passenger side of the vehicle, Felix looked across the street, saw who had just gotten out of that SUV. When his eyes met Alex’s eyes, he bolted. Without any hesitation he took off running.

Oz didn’t hesitate, either. He took off running after him. Alex got back into the SUV and sped off down the street and around the corner, just in case Oz’s speed was no match for Felix’s.

But when he drove around that corner, Felix was running out of an alleyway, and Oz was right on his tail. Alex drove on the road alongside the two running men, but a train track separated his vehicle from Oz and Felix. But he kept pace with them. Felix’s ass wasn’t going anywhere. If Oz didn’t run him down, which he was closing in on doing, Alex’s SUV was going to run him down. The brothers, Alex felt, had that asshole boxed in.

But that asshole, to both brothers’ shock, wasn’t going to stay boxed in. They could hear the train’s whistle, and then they could see the train barreling down the track. That train
was going to separate Felix from Alex’s vehicle, and then Felix just might be able to continue to outrun Oz.

That, at least, was how Alex saw it. But Felix didn’t see it that way. He had too much terror in his eyes. He knew Alex had to know his involvement, or he wouldn’t be in Jersey. He knew what that bastard was capable of. He knew it was over! It was only a matter of torture then death, or just death.

  He chose just death.

As soon as that train was about to fly past Felix and Oz, Felix threw his body onto the tracks, right into its path.

“Noooo!” Oz yelled, and Alex slammed on brakes when he saw it too.

Within, not a second, a millisecond, that train collected Felix’s body as if it was collecting miles on a track and tore it to pieces. The conductor didn’t even have a chance to put on brakes, it happened so fast.

And within another matter of seconds, the speeding train was gone far up the tracks, even as the conductor was able, after the fact, to begin the process of stopping the train.

When the train passed on, Oz and Alex could see each other again. Alex got out of his SUV and looked at his younger brother. Oz was breathing heavily. That run had taken a lot out of him. But that suicide had taken more.

He walked across the tracks, over to Alex. “Motherfucker!” Oz said. “Did you see that? Did you see that? Why would he do something that bat-shit crazy?”

Alex exhaled with his hands on his hip. “I don’t know, but I know we’re on the right track.” He looked at Oz. “We’ve got to find Misho,” he said.

  CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

They found Misho. But it wasn’t where Alex thought it would be. Oz decided to return to Apple Valley with him to spend the weekend with the family as he had been doing of late, and their plane had just landed. But Marcus Garvin, Alex’s deputy security chief, was waiting for them when they stepped off of the plane.

Both brothers wore tailored suits because they hadn’t bothered to change, and suits were their go-to attire. But Oz, Mister Flamboyant, wore a long trench coat and a fashionable hat too. Not because it was cold enough for a coat. It was only mildly chilly. But because Oz, being Oz, thought his outfit looked better with a coat. He was also smoking a cigar.
