Doubt (The Connected Series Book 1)

“Fuck! Sophie, you’re wet already, I can see.” he agonisingly slowly runs a finger over my already sensitive flesh.
“What do you expect? You turn me on, Doug.”
I’m not embarrassed to admit it, he is mine. I was so ready, I didn’t need foreplay, reaching between us, I unbutton his jeans releasing him to my hands. When his hard, throbbing cock nudges my opening, I can’t take any more, reaching between us with one hand I grab his cock and guide it inside me. The feeling of being totally full is incredible.
The look in Doug’s eyes tells me this isn’t going to last long, and I don’t need it to the way I’m feeling. Doug pounds into me relentlessly, leaning over me, he thrusts his tongue into my mouth, his finger seeks my clit. I only need a few strokes and I go off, biting my lower lip to stifle the scream. Doug comes with a roar, finding his release seconds after me.
“You. Are. So. Fucking. Sexy.” He speaks each word as he kisses me. “You’ve no idea how sexy.” he grips my hips, still inside me, already getting hard again.
“I think I do.” I grin, squeezing his cock inside me.
“Fuck!” he growls starting to move again. “Jonny can wait for his office back, I need you again.”

We appear some time later and find Miley and Jonathan still dancing.
“You better have cleaned up.” Jonathan moans, looking at us both.
“We did.” Doug laughs “Thanks for the room.”
We all dance and drink until the early hours. It is an evening Miley won’t forget in a hurry. After ordering a bottle of champagne for his girl, Jonathan gets down on one knee and proposes to an already emotional Miley.
“Miley, you’re my heart. Will you be my wife too?” he asks, looking into her teary eyes.
“Oh god! YES!” there are tears and hugs and lots more tears after that. Miley’s smile hasn't faltered. She really is on cloud nine.
As the taxi winds its way to Doug’s I look out of the window thinking about tonight.
“I was surprised they stayed as long as they did after that proposal” I am snuggling in to Doug’s side, his hand running up and down my bare arm.
“So was I, if it had been me who had proposed to you, I’d have dragged you home straight away and sealed the deal with the only way I know how.”
He picks up my hand and pushes it against the fly of his jeans, which now houses his erection. I can’t focus on anything other than the image of Doug being down on one knee in front of me and asking me to marry him. It wasn’t something I spend a long time thinking about, but of course it has entered my head.I love Doug more than I have ever loved anyone in my life, so naturally, I have thought about our future together. Married, living outside of the hubbub of London. In a house filled with gorgeous little dark haired, blue eyed children.
“Hey,” he whispers, “Are you okay?” pulling my thoughts away from where they were, I reply, in the most normal voice I can.
“Of course, just tired.” I lied.
“All that dancing made Miss Bennett sleepy?” he asked. “Or was it the three orgasms you had?” he whispers close to my ear.
“Bit of both I think.” I blush, hoping the taxi driver can't hear.
“Let’s get you home and into bed then.” Doug pulls me into his arms and I let my mind wander to a place, it hasn’t before. A place where I have a swollen belly, and where Doug is cradling a dark haired little girl in his arms.
Chapter Seven
Monday arrives far too soon. Doug had to work part of yesterday, so I spent time reading in his massive chair by the big windows while cooking us a roast. It was a pretty good Sunday. I wake up, alone and to a grey miserable morning. It’s funny how weather can reflect your mood. I hear the shower and realise, I’m not totally alone, just alone in bed. Stretching I look at the clock. 7.04am Ugh. I have to leave to meet with the first of my bridal clients in an hour. Deciding I best get up, I pad my way to the bathroom just as Doug is stepping out of the shower.
“Morning baby.” he smiles, reaching for a towel and wiping off some of the water that clings to every part of his fabulous body.
“Morning.” I’m aware that I am staring, but I can’t help it. My mind drifts to my happy place, which involves Doug, gloriously wet and my tongue licking every last drop of water from his skin.
“Sophie?” I look up into his eyes and he can’t contain his smile, “Do you see something you like?”
“Yes. I see lots of things I like actually.”
Leaning forward, I run my hand down his perfect chest, through the smattering of chest hair and over his abs, which tighten under my touch. Licking my lips, I lean in and catch a single drop of water that is lucky enough to be winding its way down his chest. As my tongue touches his skin, I hear Doug’s sharp intake of breath.
“I really need to leave in a minute Sophie, I have so much to do...”
But even as the words are coming out of his mouth, his hands are wrapping themselves around my waist, his cock is prodding me in the tummy and his mouth is descending on mine. Before I am even aware of it, I’m being lifted to rest on the vanity by the sink and Doug’s fingers are circling my folds.
“Always ready aren’t you?” he whispers sliding one long, skilled finger inside me.
“It’s hard to be anything other than ready with you around.” I grunt as he adds another finger, his thumb circling my clit.
“No need to waste it.” he smiles, dropping his towel and grasping himself at the base of his cock.
Slowly he begins to move his hand, lifting his hooded eyes to meet mine. I tear my eyes away from his and watch him pleasure himself. A shiver runs down my spine, this has to be my favourite kind of foreplay. My fingers twitch, desperate to feel him.
“Doug, can we fuck now?” I whisper, looking at him.
“God, yes!” reaching for my arse. He pulls me closer to the end and impales me on his cock in one swift motion.
My moans are swallowed by his mouth, his tongue brushing against mine, his hands gripping my hips, pulling me on and off his throbbing cock. I’m climbing, higher and higher, the familiar, delicious tension building low in my stomach. Doug leans in, whispering in my ear.
“I’m going to come Sophie, you better come with me.”
I reach between us, circling my wet, swollen clit and fall, spectacularly, yelling and digging my nails into his back. Doug groans and comes, twitching inside me.
“Amazing. Every fucking time, it’s amazing.” he grins down at me, kissing my forehead.
“Wouldn’t expect anything less Mr Roberts.”
I hop off the vanity and walk into the shower, Doug follows me in and we shower together, grinning at each other stupidly. Mondays really aren’t so bad when you wake up to this.
Sitting at the kitchen table drinking my coffee Doug walks in, looking scrummy in one of his trademark three-piece suits.
“Do you want a coffee before you leave?”
“I can’t Sophie. I’m sorry, I really do need to go.” He frowns, kneeling down in front of me, taking my hands in his.
“I want to do something special tonight, before I have to go away again. What would you like to do?” I look into his eyes, so full of love and warmth.
“Anything with you is special. Can we cook? Stay in, snuggle. We won’t get to do that for a while.” he kisses me softy.
“Sounds perfect, shall I pick you up from yours after work?”
“That would be nice, I’ve got a day off tomorrow so I can stay at yours and not have to rush to get out.” I smile, kissing his fingers.
“You’re off tomorrow?” he looks surprised that I haven’t told him.
“Yes, why?”
“Well, I have the morning free. We can spend some time together before I leave Wednesday.” he looks like a child at Christmas.
“Well that sounds like a plan.” We kiss again and then he leaves, blowing me a kiss as he goes. Soppy arse, I smile to myself.

My s
econd bridal meeting of the day is why I love my job. The future bride, Adele, is undergoing treatment for cancer and is marrying her childhood sweetheart.
“So there I was, bald, crying my eyes out and telling him to leave, that I was ugly and revolting and he could do so much better, when he drops to one knee, tells me life wouldn’t be worth living if I wasn’t his wife and pulled out the most gorgeous ring.” she smiles at the memory.
“It made me cry harder, but I managed to say yes!”
“Wow. Just... Wow.” Holding my hand to my heart and wiping at my eyes I can hardly talk through my emotions.
“I know...” she says dreamily. “So this wedding, it means more to me than anything, that he wants to be with me, even when I look like this. It has to be perfect, Sophie.”
Her eyes are filled with self doubt and emotion I can’t put my finger on. Taking her hand, I look her in the eyes.
“Adele, you are beautiful. You are courageous, how could he not want to be with you?” she wipes at her eyes and smiles.
“You’re going to do my make up right?” she laughs, “I have to have you do my make up.” I laugh, wiping my eyes too.
“Of course I am. It will be an absolute honour.”
We sit, chatting for ages. I feel like I’ve known Adele for years. She is incredible, so strong and I am in awe of her. We fill in all the paperwork and make arrangements to meet in a few weeks to go over some make up ideas. Hugging at her front door, I walk with a spring in my step and a smile on my face. I reach into my bag when I reach my car and dial Doug, I just need to talk to him.
“Sophie.” he breathes into the phone “You okay?”
“Doug, I’m fab! I’ve just had a meeting with the most amazing lady. She is... she is just amazing!” I gush, smiling like an idiot.
“She wants me to do her make up for her wedding. I feel so honoured.”
“You sound so happy.” I can hear his smile.
“Are you okay?” I ask, starting the car.
“I’m good too, busy but good.”
“I’ll let you go, I didn’t mean to interrupt, you were just the first person I thought of after the meeting, I just wanted to share it with you, you know?” I rambled.
“Sophie, you’re not interrupting me, I want to share in all your happiness.” feeling a rush of affection for him, I wish I was with him.
“I love you so much Doug, you know that don’t you?”
“I do. I love you too. I shouldn’t be too late tonight. Shall I phone when I leave?”
“Yes please, I’ll be ready.” I hang up and switch on the radio. Bruno Mars fills the car and I sing along, driving to my next meeting.
At 4.00pm all my meetings for the day are finished and I have three new wedding clients. I’m floating in a bubble of happiness. I drive home and get myself ready. I’ve just finished packing a few bits when my phone rings, seeing Doug’s gorgeous face on my screen I answer grinning.
“My handsome man, are you on your way?”
“Hey beautiful, yes I am. Shall we go to the shop to buy something for dinner?” he is echoing, he must be in the car.
“Sounds good, shall I meet you downstairs?” I zip up my bag and take it into the lounge.
“No. I’ll come up. I don’t want you waiting downstairs.” So protective.
“Okay. I’ll see you soon?”
“Yes, should be twenty minutes at the most.”
“I need a hug Doug, get here quick.” I’m desperate to be in his arms.
“I’ll be there soon, Sophie, I want you in my arms too.” I hear him groan.
I’m actually sitting on the floor by the buzzer, receiver in my hand so I can see the entryway, waiting for his perfect figure to appear. When I see him step in the hallway, I speak into the phone and buzz him in.
“You’re here!” I squeal, “Hurry!” I laugh.
I hear the lift and open my front door, peeking around it when I hear the lift ping. He steps around the corner and looks up, the most breathtaking smile spreading across his face. I can’t wait any longer, I run to him, launching myself into his arms, burying my face in his neck, inhaling his unique Doug scent.
“You really did need a hug.” he chuckles, gripping me under my thighs and walking me to my door.
“So much, I missed you.” removing my face from his neck, I kiss his cheeks, his forehead, his nose and finally his lips. “So much.”
He steps into my flat, gently placing my feet on the floor, he pushes the door closed with his foot and backs me into the wall. Caging me in with his hands either side of my face.
“Do you have any idea what you needing me this way does to me, Sophie?” he whispers, “Any. Idea. At. All.?” I swallow, liking the change of direction this was taking.
“Well... I can feel it.” I let my hand fall to my side, resting on his thigh. He pushes his groin into me, and I can feel the heat through my skirt.
“I need you, Doug.” My words have him closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.
“Are you ready to go?” he asks, stepping back slightly.
“Yes... aren’t we going to...?” I can’t hide the disappointment in my voice.
“No, not here. I have an evening planned.. Come on, let’s get this shopping done and we can go enjoy the night together.”
He reaches down and picks up my bag, taking my hand in his other. I lock up and we make our way down to the car. He opens the boot and places my bags in, leaning down, he pulls out the most stunning bouquet of red roses.
“For you.” he grins, holding them out for me. I take the flowers, bringing them to my nose to inhale the sweet scent.
“Thank you. My favourite.” I inhale again.
“I know. I don’t get you flowers often enough.” he frowns. Stepping towards him, I run my fingers over his creased forehead.
“No frowning, if you got them for me all the time, it wouldn’t be special would it?” this seems to ease the frown but he shakes his head.
“I’m still going to buy them more often.” he opens my door and shoos me inside.
“I’m not going to complain, these are really beautiful, thank you.” leaning his head in the car, he kisses me softly.
“You’re most welcome.” I watch as he walks round the car and slides in.
“Let’s go get this food.” as her starts up the car, John Mayer and Katy Perry’s voice fill the space around us and I smile If it’s who you love... then it’s who you love...
Only Doug could make going food shopping fun. We get our trolley and walk around holding hands. He knows me too well, he steers our trolley into the clothing section without being asked. I don’t buy anything, but I just love looking. We make our way to the food part of the store and fill our trolley up. We decide on a stir fry with prawns. I’m off getting some orange juice when I return I notice a few items in the trolley that were not there when I left. A can of squirty cream, strawberries, some chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. I raise an eyebrow at him and point to the trolley.
“Ice cream for dessert?” I try, but fail to stop the smile that tugs at my lips.
“Something like that,” he laughs, “Are we done?”
“I am if you are?”
We pay and head back to Doug’s. As we step into the flat, there are candles everywhere, I gasp, my head flying back to meet his eyes.
“You didn’t leave these lit the whole time did you?”
“No.” He brings the bags into the kitchen. “Alison?” he shouts. I hear footsteps come down the stairs and Alison appears.
“Good evening Mr Roberts, Sophie” she smiles, removing her apron.
“Thank you for coming back to help with this.” Doug waves his hand, indicating the candle lit room.
“You’re most welcome. Have a lovely evening. There is wine in the fridge chilling. Have a safe trip, I’ll see you when you get back.” Alison heads out leaving us alone.
“It’s so beautiful.” I glance around the big room, there must be over a hundred candle
s in here.
“I wanted it to be as beautiful as you are, but I see now, that is impossible.”
He wraps his arms around me from behind. I lean into him and close my eyes, I am overwhelmed with the amount of love I have for this man, I’m falling deeper and deeper in love with him.
