  Chapter One

Amy strolled downstairs to the kitchen to get herself a cup of coffee. She caught a glimpse of herself in her full-length mirror that hung on her wall at the bottom of the staircase. She raked her fingers through her long brown hair and blew her reflection a kiss. This was something her mother often did. She continued to the kitchen for her cup of coffee. Coffee wasn’t the best beverage to drink in the hot evenings in Scottsdale, Arizona. She absolutely hated it but a good cup of robust coffee kept her awake so she kept it around. It was bitter, but at least it was good for keeping her alert.

Amy Cole refused to date her neighbor Kato Hayashi even though he practically begged her daily. There was just something about a grown man living with his parents that turned her off. The begging he did was so damned cute, but she never saw him with a girlfriend so she assumed he didn’t know how to romantically woo a woman. And a woman she was.

Being alone in a huge, desolate house had her thinking. She needed a man and not just any man, but a man as hard as steel to match her personality. She wanted someone to keep her company and keep her entertained. Someone dominant and confident, who would put her needs ahead of their own, unlike her ex boyfriends. She wanted a sure leader who knew how to satisfy where it counted, sexually and romantically. Kato didn’t seem like that kind of man.

Kato was barely of drinking age, he wasn’t too keen on the latest fashions, and he smiled at everything even when it wasn’t funny which was kind of cute. Despite his age and fashion sense he did have some good qualities, however. Being the son of a wealthy Japanese artist was definitely a plus.

If she had to count the good qualities he had on her fingers, she’d need just one hand to do so. Being half Caucasian and half Japanese was another plus. She loved the shape of his dark eyes, very exotic. His hair was always neat, dark, straight, short and kind of spiked toward the middle. It was very modern. He was tall. She couldn’t stand a man that was shorter than her. He had to stand at least five-eleven.

Also, he was lonely, and for that reason she would occasionally let him get a peek of her goods through her bedroom window. She’d watch him watching her and get a little wound up. Even though she had never thought of him sexually, it made her wet between her legs to know that he wanted her in the most dirty ways.

She made it a habit to leave the blinds to her bedroom window open. Kato’s room was on the second floor right across from hers, which was very convenient for him. She first noticed him watching her about two years before. She had received a large inheritance from her father’s death and to get her life back on track she started working from home as an editor for an on-line fashion magazine. Sitting near the window at her desktop computer was routine. He’d sit, too, with nothing in front of him but the window and he would watch her work. Since then her computer desk had moved away from the window to allow a better view of her room for Kato’s viewing pleasure.

Normally, any non-exhibitionist would be frightened or feel threatened to see someone watching them in the middle of the night. Not Amy. She liked it. Besides, she had grown to consider Kato a friend. He was no threat. He was more innocent and love starved than anything else.

The first time she spotted him watching her she was getting ready for bed with her bedroom window curtains opened. She had just put on a comfortable shirt that hung loosely on her body and barely caressed her thighs. Something caught her eye and she glanced out of her window to see Kato as he stood at his window with his wide eyes watching her. She didn’t know how long he had been watching, but she stared back waiting to see if he would turn away. After a while, he closed his blinds but just as fast as they closed they reopened.

Amy scoffed. She couldn’t believe how bold he was. He continued to stare at her as if unseen hands held him there making him watch. She smiled at him and lifted her shirt flashing her full, perky breasts. The blinds closed again and she didn’t see him until a couple of days later. Again he was there at his window looking out at her. She knew what he wanted and since then it had been fun giving it to him.

With a steaming cup of coffee in her hand, she started to make her way back upstairs when she heard a soft tapping on her kitchen door. She turned and stared at it. Who would be knocking at this time of night? She made her way to the door, placing her mug on the counter. She peeked through the curtain of the mini window and smiled.

Opening the door, she said, “Kato, what are you doing out here at—” she looked at the clock on the microwave, “—ten o’clock?”

“I wanted to see you.” His voice was deep and low for someone so young. He flashed a smile. “I figured you might be lonely.”

He flashed perfect teeth, which was another plus. She stared at his handsome, smooth face. “I’m always lonely but you could’ve seen me from your room.” She leaned against the doorpost.

“It gets lonely in my room.” He pouted his full lips and slowly wet them with his tongue. “And I wanted to see you in person. I’ve been thinking about you.”

“That’s sweet.” She grinned, nearly turning red from blushing. He was always thinking about her. He was so cute.

“I don’t like to see you in this big house all by yourself.” He licked his lips again and for a split second she imagined her lips pressed against his. “It can’t be good for your health.”

“You might be right about that but I’m fine. No need to worry.” She batted her long, thick eyelashes.

Kato sighed, staring at her. “You are so beautiful. Do you know that?” He leaned against the doorpost. “Your body is so perfect and your hair is always so shiny.”

“Thank you, Kato.” Hearing that compliment so much confused her sometimes. She always thought her breasts were too small and her hair wasn’t full enough. But then again, her mother was a size two and thought she looked like a fat cow.

“You like to hear me tell you how beautiful you are.” He had an all-knowing look in his eye. The kind of look her mother gave her when she revealed something that Amy thought she kept secret. “Every time I look at your lips I just want to taste them. I bet they’re as soft as they look.”

Funny, she was just thinking the same about his lips. “You’re sweet, Kato.” She rested her hand on the doorknob. “But I have to get back to work.”

“Why don’t you give me a chance?” He frowned. “You know I want you.”

“You’re so sweet but—” she paused.

“But what?” He stood patiently, waiting for her to continue her sentence.

She couldn’t tell him that she thought he wasn’t enough man for her. She didn’t want to nasty but he lacked the confidence she wanted in a man. Also he seemed too young and inexperienced. She didn’t want disappointment on either side of the situation.

She quickly searched for a believable excuse. “I’m just not ready for a relationship,” she said unconvincingly.

“Oh, I see.” He looked down at the gravel beneath his feet. “You think I’m unattractive, huh?”

“What? Never. Far from that.” She didn’t know how he came up with that. She never did or said anything to make him think that he was unattractive. He was absolutely gorgeous for that matter. “You’re cute. Really, really cute but … but that’s all.” She frowned. “I’m sorry, Kato.”

  Kato nodded. “Wh
at about Bryson? You like him don’t you? I see the way you look at him.”

Oh, Nicholas Bryson. Kato’s best friend. Now this was awkward. Of course she liked Bryson. He had amazing qualities that she could count on all fingers and toes. And he was closer to her age, twenty-six. He had steel blue eyes and was a little rough around the edges. He was frequently dirty, too, because he worked as an auto mechanic. Strangely that turned her on.

“Bryson just knows what a girl wants,” she said, which was the best way to explain her attraction to him.

“Is that right?” Kato narrowed his eyes suspiciously. “How would you know that?”

Because she’d fucked him twice. “I just know.” She shrugged. “I remember that gift he bought for one of his girlfriends.”

“That two hundred dollar charm bracelet,” Kato said unenthusiastically, “he brags about that damn thing all the time.”

She understood because she too valued an expensive gift. She blamed her father for that trait because he had treated her like a princess most of her life. His belief was “There was no other way to show someone you loved them than getting them the perfect, most expensive gift.”

“Yeah,” she said. “You’re just so young, Kato. No offence. I like you but we can never be an item. It’ll probably do more harm than good. You should just focus on college right now.”

“Having you isn’t going to prevent me from doing well in school.” Kato stuffed his hands in his pant pockets. “But I’ll go. I know you’re busy.”

“I’m sorry.” She watched as he turned away then she closed the door. She felt bad for him, but she wasn’t just going to fuck him out of pity. What would that do but cause more grief?

She finally made it upstairs to her room with her coffee, later than expected. She had a long night ahead of her. She didn’t want to get behind on a lot of work. Her coffee was even less appealing that it normally was. She’d added cream and sugar to it to make it more bearable when it went down. Otherwise it seemed to tighten her throat.

When she sat at her desk, she looked out of her window and she could see Kato standing at his window with his arms crossed over his chest looking back at her. She waved and mouthed the word sorry. He probably couldn’t see her mouth from his distance but she forced a smile anyway. He didn’t move. She got up from her desk and walked to her window.

It was dark outside. Everyone was probably asleep. A couple of trees near the front of her house made it easier for her to do private things with her blinds open without fear of complete and perverted strangers watching.

She pouted her lips at Kato, making a sad face. He turned his head away then looked back. She knew he was disappointed. So to cheer him up the idea of getting into her pullover pajama shirt without closing the blinds popped into her head. It was something she often enjoyed doing for Kato.

She pulled her shirt off exposing her red-laced bra covered breasts. She strained her eyes to see his facial expression. His arms dropped to his side and he stared on.

  She smiled.

She slowly unbuttoned her jeans and sensually slid them down over her hips revealing her matching panties. He moved closer to his window, probably to get a better view. Once her pants were completely off she bent over to pick them up from the floor, she stood up holding them up in her hand and let them fall to the ground.

Next was her bra. The bra had been bothering her all day. She hated wearing bras and she couldn’t wait to strip it from her breasts. She placed her fingers on the latch between them and unhooked it. Slowly, she peeled it away and let it hang to the sides of her. She could feel her nipples perk, quickly getting rigid in the cool air.

She wiggled her fingers at Kato through the window, keeping a smile on her face. She loved to tease him and make him hard. Knowing he enjoyed it too made her hot. He put his hand to his window and left it there. Then she turned and slowly, sensually walked toward her dresser drawer, rocking her hips slightly. She lifted her pullover shirt from Victoria’s Secret out of the drawer and slipped the bra off all the way, giving Kato a good look at her sexy back and round ass. She twirled around a few times to let him have a good look at her body from all angles. God, she felt so sexy. She slipped her arms in her shirt and slowly slipped it over her head. She pulled her hair up into a ponytail and did a slow, sexy twirl.

When she turned around to look at Kato he was still at his window, probably drooling, which made heat travel through her body. She slowly walked to her desk running her hands over the skin of her bare arms and the sides of her body. She was trying every trick she could think of to put on a great show. She sat down at her desk. First she crossed her legs then she uncrossed them and spread them wide. She pulled her shirt down between them to hide her panties out of view. She put her finger to her lips and sucked the tip. Kato was still staring. She smiled and booted up her computer, occasionally glancing out the window at her audience.

  Chapter Two

Amy didn’t wake up until noon the next day. She was up so late working and drinking coffee loaded with sugar, she thought she would sleep through the entire day. At first she had an urge to get another cup to help her wake up fully, but then she had a change of heart. Maybe a shower would do the trick.

After soaking under the stream of a nice hot shower, she made her way to the living room hoping to catch some cartoons that might still be on. Tom and Jerry was her favorite. Something about the cat and mouse chase captured and held her attention.

Thirty minutes crept by before she realized she was getting bored and lonely. If only she had a large, fluffy cat or a small, giddy puppy to keep her company. Maybe even a boyfriend. Bryson was good in bed, but he fell short on romance. It wouldn’t be wise to keep him around for anything other than sex unless she wanted her heart shattered and stomped on.

She had been with other guys like Bryson before. They were either too stuck on themselves or just didn’t care enough about her to take her to nice restaurants for candlelight dinners or off on fancy getaways. She had expected to be treated like royalty and was left heartbroken when she realized sex was all they had to give. Wasn’t she worth more that sex? Didn’t she deserve the princess treatment?

The last time Bryson catered to her needs, she was on top of the world with pleasure. And when it was over she’d made him promise again not to tell Kato about their sexcapades because she knew it would hurt him. She enjoyed teasing Kato, not emotionally scarring him.

Her thoughts were soon interrupted by a knock on her kitchen door, a soft tapping. She went to the door and opened it to find Kato standing there with a white box in his hands.

“Hello, Kato,” she said and smiled.

“I’ve got something for you.” Kato lifted the box in his hands. “Can I come in?”

She stepped back and allowed him in. He sat the white box on the kitchen counter and smiled. She smiled too.

“What did you bring, cake?” She looked at the box while curiosity traveled through her.

“No.” He stuffed his hands into his jean pockets. “Something much better. I’ve been thinking about you and I really wanted to get you something that proves I know how to make you happy.”

“Do you think this gift will change the way I feel about you?”

“I hope so,” he admitted. “I just want you to give me a chance. I just want to make you happy. Isn’t that the first thing girls want from their lovers?”

She smiled. He was right about that. “Let’s see what’s in the box.” She placed her hands on the lid of the box curious as all hell. She still wore her pajama shirt and no bra, which Kato seemed to notice because he kept looking at her breasts and bare legs.

He cleared his throat. “You say I’m too young. I’m twenty-one and you’re only twenty-six. Do you really think I can’t satisfy you?”

She was surprised. The way he said those words made heat rise to her throat. “You really think you can satisfy me?”

“Yes, I can.” He grinned. “Will you let me prove it?”

Wow. She was impressed. Kato spoke like he knew what he was talking about. “Let’s see what’s in the box,” she repeated.

“I have a better idea.” Kato moved closer. “If you like the gift, like I know you will, you’ll give me a chance.”

  “A chance?”

“Yes, a real chance to prove I can make you happy.”

“And if I don’t like the gift?” Already she loved this little game they were playing.

“Then we can keep our relationship restricted to our bedroom windows.” He grinned.

Oh, wow. She liked this game a lot. “Deal,” she said. “Should we shake on it?”

Kato licked his lips and flashed his perfect teeth. “A beautiful woman like you shouldn’t shake.” He grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it gently. “That should seal the deal.”

Bingo. That was perfect. He did that so well she was contemplating liking the gift no matter how ordinary it was just to see if he had it in him to please her. Was that too forward?

She placed her hand back on the box and tried to guess what was inside. “You know I don’t like hats.”

“You never looked like a hat person to me.” Kato gave her that look again.

She slowly lifted the lid to the box. Inside was a brand new pair of red leather Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps with a five and a half inch heel and his signature red sole. She couldn’t catch her breath.

She gasped, eyes widening. “Where did you get these?” She brought her hands to her neck. “Oh, my god. They’re real, too. His signature is inside on the heel.”

“Of course they’re real.” Kato shook his head and chuckled. “They’re red to match your … under things as well. You like them?”

“These are, like, a million dollar shoes.” She held them in her hands, examining them from all angles. “How can you afford them? Well, I mean I know you can afford them but—”

“Not quite a million,” he said. “But I knew you would like them. Try them on.”
