Declan gritted his teeth as his face contorted with pleasure. A fire of passion shot up his spine. The smooth muscles on his broad back tingled as the sensations flooded through his body. His fingers dug deeper into Noelle’s hips as a harsh groan of masculine satisfaction arose from his body.

“Noelle, I’m coming with you,” he yelled out.

Declan lost control of his body. His hips shook violently as his seed spilled out in his final slamming thrusts. He groaned as pulsating waves of pleasure washed over his powerful loins.

Declan thrust a third and final time as he gave his last shuddering release. His body slumped and rested on Noelle as her fingers loosened their grip of the bedsheets. She panted for breath as Declan's spent body fell to her side.

“What I said before. I was serious, you know,” she murmured.

  “Which part?”

Noelle furrowed her brow a little. “I was serious about all of it. But to jog your memory a little, the part about us not fighting anymore,” she explained.

Declan looked back at Noelle and tightened his lips. He could see her expression was serious, yet was her mind? “It hasn’t worked out so well for us this far, what makes you think it’ll be any different, now?” he asked.

“Well, this time, I was thinking…” she started to say. “I wouldn’t be away from you. I’d become a part of the pack and live here with you. That way, we can iron out any conflicts we have, rather than fretting about them.”

Declan rubbed his hand over his chin as he was thinking. He ran over everything in his head. “There’s one gray area that’s always gonna be in the way,” he explained. “You come from a family of hunters, and I’m the hunted.”

Noelle got excited and sat up. Declan couldn’t help but notice her breasts jiggle as she wobbled on the springs of the bed. “This is where the second part of my plan comes into action.” She looked at Declan excitedly. “This time I’ll do anything for us to be together, I won’t take it as a fling, or as a half-hearted relationship.”

Declan started to become puzzled because Noelle was going off on a tangent and Declan couldn’t see where she was headed. “I think you need to slow down a little, and explain more, before you lose me.”

Noelle tutted and threw her head back. “You men are all the same, it’s simple…” she said. “This time we take out all the hunters!”

“Hang on a minute, you come from a family of hunters, and you want to take them all out to prove you're serious about our relationship?”

  “Yes!”

“Noelle, you’re fucking crazy,” Declan said, lifting his weight onto his elbows. “You’re willing to kill all your family to be with me?”

  “No!”

Declan frowned even more because it seemed like Noelle was talking in riddles. “I’m confused, you say, ‘yes’ and then you say, ‘no.’”

Noelle tutted again. “I’ll explain as much as I can. Just before I was hoodwinked by that scumbag Edmund, I had the chance to talk to my parents —and they said they were out of the hunter business, ever since Dad was turned. They saw that werewolves were only like humans when left alone, and probably a better race because there’s not as much infighting,” Noelle explained in simple detail.

“Well, if that’s true, and that’s the commitment you want to make to be with the pack and me, let’s do it!”

Noelle looked puzzled. “Let’s do what… be together?”

“Sort of, we’ll do what you said as a final commitment,” Declan said plainly.

“AH! We’re gonna take out the hunters?”

  “We are,” Declan replied.

“OH! Declan, I’m so happy I have a chance to be with you, once and for all.”

  “With no arguments.”

“No arguments,” Noelle said. “I promise!” Declan let out a mock sigh as Noelle slapped him simultaneously.

Gabriel looked across the horizon. His eye had started to heal but it was still half closed. He'd been sour all night and hardly slept. He’d been festering over the humiliation he'd faced at the hands of Declan.

He isn’t gonna get away with it. He caught me off guard, that’s all.

Gabriel dressed and stared at Tanya’s spent body. That was another reason he'd hardly slept. She might not have won the ritual that was cut in half, yet she'd proved herself by stepping up when it mattered. Gabriel pulled on his jacket and stepped closer to the motel room door.

“Where are you going at this time of the morning?” Tanya asked.

  “Unfinished business.”

The door closed behind Gabriel as he pulled up the hood of his sweatshirt. He had a plan of entry, and it was one that no one would think of. He ran from the motel to the street behind the Towers. He crept in the shadows on the rear wall, just as the sun began to light the far wall. Gabriel stood next to the large dumpster that Edmund previously used to hide his presence in.

Who would think of the cover of the freezer room? Nah, no one will look there.

Gabriel rounded the dumpster and changed into his inner wolf. He leaped up the large gate and pulled himself over the top. He stood in silence, and his ear twitched as he listened for sounds of any pack members roaming around the yard, or by the rear entranceway. The coast was clear, and he ran across the yard, his feet silent against the cobbled surface.

Gabriel reached the cover leading to the freezer room and looked puzzled. “What the hell?” he mumbled. “Who has slipped a bar through the hoops?”

Gabriel pulled at the rust-covered cover, and he stepped inside before pulling the lid closed. His sense of smell perked up. His eyes adjusted, yet it was still dim. He stepped forward and could smell the decaying meat up ahead. He saw a faint light waving in the darkness.

“Who’s there, is that you Noelle? I knew you’d come and save me,” Gabriel heard from the voice behind the light.

He stepped forward more. His jaw opened. Saliva dripped from his jaw as his body readied itself to pounce. The light raised up and cast a dim glow over Gabriel’s face.

“OH FUCK! You’re not Noelle,” Edmund screamed. “You’re Gab…”

“And you’re dead,” Gabriel replied as he tore into Edmund’s neck like the beast he was.

His fangs sank deep into Edmund’s jugular as he tugged his head sideways. His claws ripped at Edmund’s chest. Gabriel lunged his paw forward and crushed Edmund’s rib cage. His claws tore the life source from Edmund as his body slumped to the floor. It now looked like a meat carcass from an animal.

“You, my dear friend, don’t deserve to be human or wolf. Rot in hell where you deserve,” Gabriel said, as he spat blood over Edmund’s lifeless body.

Gabriel stepped into the freezer room. He placed his hand on the door, and his nose twitched. A bit of fresh meat will give me a good serving of energy. Gabriel lifted the lid of the freezer, he ripped open the plastic and sunk his teeth into the soft, juicy meat. He ripped open the second bag and devoured it as quickly as the first. Gabriel twisted the door handle and made his way through the apartments up to Declan's room. He reached into his pocket and pulled the tightly-wrapped piece of rubber. He pulled at the string and the rubber fell from the contents inside. The light shone off the silver bullet as Gabriel paused.

Now we’ll see who has what it takes.

He breathed deeply. It was now or never. He raised his clenched fist and knocked on the door. He heard footsteps approach on the other side.

The door opened and Gabriel grinned. “Hello again, surprised to see me so soon?” His grin was wicked and condescending.

“To the best of my knowledge, there are no more hidden surprises.”
