TWISTED MAYHEM (A Devil Call MC Book) (Talon & Everly Book Four) (Devil Call MC Talon & Everly 4)

“You don’t want to hear it,” she whispered. “But I am sorry, Talon. For everything. I know you can’t go back and I know you can’t control it. That’s what makes the bad memories so bad. But that doesn’t mean I can’t be sorry.”
“I know, beautiful,” I whispered. “I will fix all this shit.”
“That picture Layne showed you…”
“No.” I lifted my head and looked at Everly. “No secrets, beautiful. You can’t hide that kind of stuff from me. That shit only builds in your mind and makes it all worse. Promise me, beautiful. No more secrets.”
“No more secrets,” she whispered. “But you…”
“I know the people in the picture,” I said. “They’re related to Tommy. They have the security footage. I’m going to get it. I’m going to protect you, myself, my club. Okay? I don’t want anyone else involved because these are heavy hitters. And it’s my fuck up. I shouldn’t have killed Tommy like I did. I’m taking my shit and my hits. And I’m fixing it all. No more secrets.”
“No more secrets,” Everly said.
Her voice cracked. Her eyes stared at me, deep and magical.
But I wasn’t sure if I believed her.
We all have secrets…
I put my head back to Everly’s chest. Her heart kept racing. I slid my mouth down and placed it over her breast. My hand crept down her belly and around until I felt the soft wetness of her sex.
I couldn’t stand talking anymore. I couldn’t stand secrets anymore. And I couldn’t stand not touching and fucking Everly’s perfect body.

(Talon)
We were so fucking close to the fucking shithole of a bar that I could smell grease and pussy lingering in the air. I sat with Layne next to me. We had Drave, Jagg, and Maxen behind us. They were holding shotguns. Automatics, trigger friendly, ready to spread pellets to anyone who dared to get in our fucking way.
I was packing two guns and two knives, my standard.
Layne stood, still on his motorcycle, a rifle resting on his shoulder. He was a deadeye sniper, able to take out targets that were like miles away. It was a beautiful talent to have, one that his old man wished he would have used for a better purpose in life.
This was for a better purpose. For goddamn revenge. To get back at Jony and Rilen Lost for what they’d done to Austin. Buzzy and Ash were on their way to the hospital to get Austin. He was patched up and ready to come back to the clubhouse. Nothing life threatening but there would be a nasty scar on his face for the rest of his life. But scars were good. Scars were memories. Scars proved toughness and having a set of balls.
“What do we do?” Layne asked.
“I want to ride up there and just start taking them out,” I said. “Just swing our big cocks and make it known nobody fucks with us.”
Jagg pumped his shotgun. “I’m ready to go.”
“There’s a lot of rides there,” Maxen said. “Something is brewing.”
“Another charter?” Layne asked. “Maybe patching in new guys. Maybe a merge.”
“Fuck them,” I said. “That can’t happen.”
I started my motorcycle and walked forward a little. I wasn’t sure what the plan really was. What I wanted was the guy who hurt Austin. It was going to be an eye for a fucking eye. My shit with Jony would be settled between him and me personally. President to President. Well, if I was voted in as President.
I started to ride, Layne coming with me. I made it all of a few seconds before the doors to the bar opened. A group of guys came piling out. None of them were wearing leather cuts, leaving me wondering what the fuck was going on.
I put a hand up and we stopped again.
The guys all started to get on their rides. The motorcycles fired up with their thundering growl.
“I don’t know what this is,” I said. “But let’s fucking scare them.”
I looked back at Jagg and Maxen. I gave a nod.
They started to unload their shotguns.
The guns were louder than the motorcycles.
The second the weapons were fired, all hell broke loose. Half the guys fell off their motorcycles to the ground. Some tried to take off, their wheels cutting left to right and then dropping their rides. Someone rode over another guy’s leg. A handful were able to get on the road and go.
Jony and some of the Rilen Lost came rushing from the bar. They looked at the hell in their dirt lot and looked around. Jagg and Maxen finished unloading their shotguns and then hurried to load them up again.
When Jony spotted us, he pointed.
Layne lifted the rifle and Jony dropped to his stomach.
The guys in the lot hurried to clean themselves up, pick up their motorcycles, and rush out of the lot and down the road.
It felt like a war was about to kick up.
I was ready for it.
I wanted blood. I wanted death. I wanted revenge.
I also wanted to get back to the clubhouse safe. To Everly.
Fuck. She was making me weak.
When the dust started to clear and it was Rilen Lost and Devil Call MC, I was ready to start my motorcycle and begin this fight.
Of course, right on fucking cue, a car came up the road, a red light flashing on the roof. When the sound of a blip-blip came, Rilen Lost hurried to rush into the bar.
I looked back at Jagg and Maxen. “Hurry the fuck up out of here.”
They tucked their shotguns and took off.
Layne tried to hide his rifle, doing the best he could. I looked at him and he shook his head.
“No, brother,” he said. “I’m not leaving you.”
I nodded. “Okay.”
The car turned and stopped. The door flew open and Detective John came out. He drew his gun and I put my hands up.
“What the fuck is this?” he growled.
“Just taking a ride,” I said.
“Do I see an illegal weapon? Layne?”
“No,” Layne said. “I don’t see anything.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Detective John yelled.
“You coming to check out the activity over there?” I asked and pointed. “A lot of crazy shit going on.”
“Oh, so they were the ones just shooting?”
“Maybe,” I said. “We were just on a ride.”
“Doing what?”
“That’s club business,” I said.
Detective John walked toward us. The gun was pointed right at me. All I could think about was what I had confessed to Everly. All the truth of John.
“Layne, fuck off,” Detective John yelled.
“Fuck you,” Layne said.
Detective John pointed the gun at Layne. “I said to fuck off. Or else I’ll take you in on gun charges.”
“Do it then,” Layne said.
“I’ll tie the gun to a fucking murder and put you away for the rest of your life.”
“Why don’t you put that gun down and face me like a man,” Layne said. “Come on, John.”
I looked at Layne. I could only remember two other times he looked this angry. One was when I confessed that I had killed Anneliese. The other… the day he tried to save me from a beating from John. The day Layne got his own beating…
“Layne,” I said. “It’s cool, man. He’s got dick on us. Don’t give him a reason.”
“Yeah,” Detective John said. “I’ll tie that rifle to everything, Layne. To Tommy’s murder. To a murder in Nevada. Fuck, I’ll dig up something in five states. Make you a serial killer. You piece of fuck.”
Layne stepped off his motorcycle. He had a good six inches over Detective John and was about a mile wide. If Layne wasn’t gifted enough with wide shoulders, when he got pissed off and puffed himself out, he looked even bigger. Like a hungry monster.
Layne walked right into the gun, not afraid of Detective John.
“Fuck you,” Layne growled. “Face me like a man. One on one.”
“Don’t do it,” Detective John. “I can see the fucking
rifle, asshole.”
I looked and shook my head. This was what made Detective John dangerous. He was so smooth and manipulative. He goaded Layne off his motorcycle to expose the illegal rifle.
Detective John pulled a phone out of his pocket. He pressed a button and showed Layne the screen.
“One call,” Detective John said. “I’ll have a dozen agents here, Layne. They’ll take you down. They’ll dig through everything you’ve ever done.” Detective John then looked at me. “Then they’ll go right to the MC. Tear your fucking friends apart. Person by fucking person. Right down to Everly…”
“She’s innocent,” Layne growled.
“No she’s not,” Detective John said. “She’s on that footage, right? So are you Layne. The three of you… murdering Tommy.”
“Fuck you,” Layne said again.
“Layne! Go!” I bellowed. “Stop fucking talking to him and just go.”
“I’m not leaving you.”
“Fucking go,” I said. “Don’t make this worse.”
“Listen to him,” Detective John said. “Listen to your best fucking friend in the world. The guy you would die for. The guy you tried to protect. Remember that day? How’s your legs doing? Was that the reason you couldn’t play football anymore? Right? Or better yet… your best fucking friend in the world who killed the woman you loved.”
“Jesus Christ,” I said. “Layne, just fucking go.”
Layne turned his head and looked at me. He was fucking angry. He had rage in his eyes, death at his fingertips.
He didn’t say another word as he got on his motorcycle and started it. He kicked up dirt as he sped away.
Watching him go was like losing him all over again. I hated that fucking feeling. Layne and I were…
“Now that we’re alone,” Detective John said with a grin.
“What the fuck do you want? What do you want from me?”
“I don’t need a war breaking out on my time,” Detective John said. “Your shit with those other guys can be settled when I leave.”
“When are you leaving?”
“When I get the truth. When I find out why someone is protecting you. How deep are you, Talon? I mean, for Christ’s sake, I knew you were a murdering piece of shit, but are you in debt to gangs? To a cartel? To… what?”
I grinned. “You’re scared, aren’t you? Because I’m more powerful than you. Because you’ve got nothing on me. Because you can’t stop me.”
Detective John put the gun to my chest. “Oh, I could fucking stop you, Talon. I can pull the trigger and blow your heart out of your back.”
“Then do it.”
“Why would a father want to hurt his own son?”
“You’re not my father, John. You never were. And someday…”
“Save it, Talon. I know the speech. Someday I’ll get mine, right? I’ll get what’s coming to me. Someone will stand up to me, light me up, cut my fucking dick off. Right? I know the speech, Talon. I give the speech a lot. To assholes like yourself. But I do care about you, son.”
“The scars prove it,” I said.
“They were lessons. You were a terrible student.”
“You were an even worse teacher than you are detective.”
Detective John smiled. He stepped back and then swung the gun at me. It hit me square in the jaw. If the prick had been in half the shape I was in, my jaw would have snapped. Instead, it just hurt and I stumbled to my left.
“I’ll fucking get you,” Detective John warned. “I’m just trying to figure out the best way to do it. If I take down Devil Call, then one of these shit clubs will step right in and make things worse. You’re my ticket in, Talon. But don’t forget how disposable you are. I’ll keep you on a string. Have a great fucking day.”
I watched Detective John get into his car and pull away. I climbed back to my feet and dusted myself off. What a fucking cliche it was. I felt like that’s all I ever did. Stand up and brush off. I walked to my ride and climbed on it. I sat there, alone. Vulnerable. My mind racing. If I had only met Everly earlier. Maybe things would have been very different. My heart could have had other interests. But now my heart was torn to shreds. Left for those to take a piece and do whatever the fuck they wanted.
It was the piece of my heart that Everly had that had my life feeling crazier than ever. Killing a man was a rush. Defending my club was a high. Having power was an addiction. But touching Everly… kissing Everly… having Everly… that was… everything.
“Fuck,” I whispered and ran a hand through my hair.
I started my ride and didn’t make it to the road before another car came flying to cut me off. It was a small black sporty kind of car. Some kind of golden emblem on it and the appeal of an asshole with too much money as the driver.
The door opened and I reached for my gun.
When I saw Jade climb out of the car, I lowered my weapon.
“Of course,” I whispered.
Jade was in a blue dress, dark blue, and it hugged her body as much as the other dresses did. Her breasts were pouring from the top of the dress. I quickly noticed something on her chest though. A little dot or something.
She took off her big sunglasses and put one of the arms right down to her cleavage. Her eyes lit up when she saw me and she smiled big.
“Hey gorgeous,” she purred.
“Jade, I’m not in the mood.”
“Oh, I am. I’m always in the mood.”
I looked around asked, “Where’s Vaughn?”
“He’s not here. Don’t worry about him. I hope he didn’t hit you too hard.”
She closed in on me.
“Seriously?” I asked. “That was one of the most pussy punches I ever felt. I hope he pays for security because he couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag.”
Jade giggled. “Where did he hit you?”
“Right here,” I said and touched my nose. “Look, it’s not even swollen. I survived.”
Jade leaned forward and pressed her lips to the tip of my nose. She then remained half an inch from my face. She kissed above my top lip. And then she started to kiss me, but I turned my head.
Everly… fuck…
“What do you want, Jade?” I asked. My eyes looked down, unable to avoid her breasts. I saw the mark again. It was red and smeared. “What the fuck is that on your chest?”
“I’ve been fantasizing about you saying that to me,” Jade said. “Except we both know what it would be. I’d take you down my throat and then pull you out at the last second… then stroke that cock…”
I wiped with a finger the mark on her chest. She fucking moaned and threw her head back like she was coming. The chick was crazy.
“That’s not what I meant,” I said. “Look at my finger.”
Jade looked and gasped. “Oh, that.” She looked down at her chest. “Can you get the rest.”
“What is it? Blood?”
“Actually, it is,” Jade said and grinned.
I used my shirt to wipe the blood off my finger. I lifted my shirt and wiped at Jade’s chest. She quickly reached forward with both hands and set of fingernails, digging at my bare body.
“Fuck, you are sexy,” she said. “I mean, killer sexy. You would look amazing in a suit and tie.”
“Yeah, right,” I said. “I’ll never wear a suit and tie. But fuck that. What’s with the blood on your tits?”
“My tits?” Jade asked. “It was the top of my chest. And it was a speck of blood.”
“Whose blood? Did you hurt Vaughn?”
“No,” Jade said. “But he hurts me. And I wish you would believe me.”
I cringed, not wanting to get into this situation. “What am I supposed to say?”
“You’re supposed to want to help me. I can get those tapes, Talon. I promise you. It’s Vaughn who is doing this. He’s hurting me. He wants to hurt you. Want to know what his plan is?”
“What?” I asked. “What’s the plan?”
“He wants to take you out. Take out the
MC. He wants your clubhouse and all the land. So he could develop it. Fix up Brocke. More so, he wants to overtake Los Ahn and make them part of our enterprise.”
Los Ahn? Vaughn knew the Los Ahn?
“Wow,” I said. “That’s ambitious.”
“He has the power to do it. So do I.”
“But you don’t want that?”
“I want you, Talon.”
“Christ.” I shook my head. “And explain the picture of you and your brother with Jony and the Rilen Lost. Tell me.”
Jade smirked. “Sneaky boy, huh? I like that. You like taking pictures when someone’s not looking? I’ve got some pictures you’d really like. Me in a bath, the water clear, my legs up, spread wide…”
I grabbed Jade by the shoulders. “Fuck, shut up. What do you want right now?”
“I want to show you a gift. From me to you. Nothing to do with Vaughn. My way of proving to you that I care about you, Talon. That I don’t just want you to fuck me. That I want you to… to have me. Save me from Vaughn. And then save your club.”
I should have just started my ride again and took off. But I was fucking intrigued.
I followed Jade to the back of the car. She reached down and pressed a button. The trunk latch clicked and she opened the trunk to reveal a body in the back, a guy with his hands tied behind his back and a bloody cloth covering his mouth.
“Holy shit,” I said.
“That’s the guy who hurt your friend. Who tried to kill Austin.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?”
Jade reached into the trunk and pulled out a leather cut. A Rilen Lost cut. I could see the fucking bar the Rilen Lost called home. And here was some piece of shit member in the trunk of a car.
“How the fuck…”
“My work, not yours,” Jade said. “And Jony doesn’t know yet. He will, soon. Probably within the hour. All hell will break loose.”
“He’ll assume I did it.”
“Well, you are going to do it, right? I mean, kill him?”
“Right now? Here? No.”
“Good,” Jade said. She reached into my pocket and playfully tried to get to my cock.
“Stop,” I said.
“There’s a piece of paper in your pocket now. That’s where you’ll find our friend here. And you can do whatever you need to do to get your revenge. Okay?”
