Love Contract

  "Don't stop, please," she begs.

  "I won't," I promise. "I won't."

I flip us over so that she's on top. Gripping her hips, I guide her as she rides me, bouncing and rocking; her inner walls clenching and expanding makes us both moan and groan in ecstasy. I latch onto one of her chocolate nubs and suck as if I was a newborn baby; her moans as music to my ears. Burying my face between her breasts, I flip us back over so that I'm on top. Thrusting faster, I look down at my beautiful goddess, loving everything about her. Kissing and nibbling her neck, my hands find her pearl and rub it furiously to bring her to a shattering release.

"I'm so close, mia amore," I pant.

  "So am I," she groans.

As I make love to her, I see flashes of our past: me spilling my coffee on her, stalking her once I picked her out to be my surrogate, her slapping me when I asked her to be my surrogate, the first time we made love, and so forth. It's as if something is connecting between us, binding our souls forever with this one act.

Her nails dig deeper into my back, and I feel her inner walls clench around my dick in a tightening vice. She throws her head back, screaming in release. I shout her name, pouring into her before rolling off with a groan, laying at her side as we pant to catch our breath.

I look at her. " Mia amore?"

  "Yes?" she asks.

"We didn't use protection," I chuckle.

She laughs and places her head on my chest. "I don't care...we didn't use it the first time..."

I take her hand and kiss it. "I love you, Malaika Robinson.

"And I love you, Giovanni Rinaldi," she whispers. "And I promise to never leave you again..."

Chapter Nineteen: The Death Angel Cometh

  Giovanni

  "Wake up, cara mia...wake up..."

"Giovanni, I swear if you don't leave me alone, I'll castrate you..." Malaika grumbles.

Chuckling to myself, I slip under the covers. I know how to wake her up. Before she can respond, I open her wandering thighs and began to feast on her delicious flesh.

She gasps, arching her body as she moans loudly. " Gio..." she moans.

Smirking, I kiss my way up her body and enter her, moving my hips slowly. "Told you I'd wake you up," I whisper, suckling on her breasts.

We've been here for two weeks, two delicious and passionate weeks. At first she had been worried that she'd be fired, but as the owner of the hospital I assured her she wouldn't be. These two weeks have been bliss; nonstop loving making, cuddling, and just being together. Sure, we stepped out every now and then to eat, but we rushed back up here and fell into each other's arms. I have been captivated by this woman, and I plan on never letting her go.

"Gio," she moans, holding me close. "We do need to get up and go to work..."

"The hell with work," I murmur, thrusting faster. "I have something else to do for the day..."

"Gio!" she giggles. "Come on, stop!"

I smirk and pound into her, holding her waist as I rub her pearl, wanting to bring her to her release. She screams minutes later and I pour into her. Panting heavily I pull out, swinging my legs over the side of the bed.

  "Fine...let’s go to work."

"Asshole," she laughs, slapping me with a pillow.

Chuckling, I go into the shower. I want to pull her in, but she slaps my hands away. With lot of kisses, gropes, and me almost throwing her on the bed again, we finally dress and leave for work. When we pull up, I give her one last deep kiss in the car.

"I love you, cara mia," I whisper.

"And I love you, Gio," she whispers back. "I'll see you after work, ok?"

I nod and she blows a kiss to Rosie, and walks into the building.

  ********************************

"Daddy loves you, I'll see you later," I say, kissing Rosie on the cheek as I drop her off at her nursery.

"Ciao papà!" she giggles before running inside.

I smile at her and walk back to my car. As I'm about to climb in, my phone rings and I answer it.

  "Hello?"

"Gio, it’s Romero; bro where are you?"

His tone is worried and strained. "I'm just dropping off Rosie. What's wrong?"

"Something's going down at the hospital."

I freeze. "What do you mean?"

"I was about to leave, but found a blood trail leading to a room. Fratellino, I found two bodies, a bullet in their foreheads. There is a killer in the hospital."

  My heart stops. "Mala..."

"Get down here as soon as you can," he says.

He doesn't have to tell me twice. Hopping into my car, I get on the phone with the head of hospital security to find out what the hell is going on. I tell Romero to order a shutdown of the hospital before dialing Malaika's number.

"Come on," I grumble. "Pick up...come on baby, pick up..."

"Hi, this is Malaika, sorry I can't come to the phone right now, but I'm most likely at work. Leave a message and I'll get back with you. Ok Bye!"

"DAMN IT!" I slam my fist on the dashboard.

Pulling up to the hospital, I see a crowd gathering and a police line blocking them off and guarding the exits.

I walk up to them, but the chief holds me back.

"I'm sorry Sir, you can't go in there..."

"This is my hospital," I spit at him. "Let me in now! What about evacuating people?"

The officer says the common policy is a lockdown, as they don't know who and where the shooter is. The officer assures me they have it under control. Growling under my breath, I walk back to my car and rub my temples. I have to get in there...but how... I see the garbage chute and smirk to myself.

  ********************************

  Malaika

"Hey girl! How's the Italian sausage?"

I laugh and rub my temples. "Pearl, stop calling him that!"

"He is!" she laughs. "But you didn't answer the question. You've been gone for two weeks...anything you want to tell me?"

  I blush. "Well..."

"I knew it!" Kenny says. "Dave, you owe me twenty dollars!"

David rolls his eyes, but gives him the money.

"You guys bet on me?" I ask, trying to not laugh.

"You've been gone for two weeks, girl," David says, pocketing the money. "You were either dead or screwing the Big Man."

I roll my eyes and slap him upside the head.

  "Hey!" he cries. "Abuse!"

We laugh as Remy walks over with Marcus, eating some weird sandwich. The second the smell of onions fills my nose, I turn away, running and then puking into a trash can.

"Geeze girl, you ok?" Pearl asks me, pulling my hair out of the way.

"Y...yeah I'm fine," I say after I finish puking four times in a row. "I just got sick when Remy came over with his..." my mind trails off and my jaw drops. "Pearl, come with me."

Dragging her into a room, I make her draw my blood and when she comes back, it confirms my thoughts. I'm pregnant. My mind goes back to almost 6 weeks ago when Giovanni and I had drunken, unprotected sex. Smiling, my hand goes to my belly.

"My little one," I whisper to it. "Your father is going to be so proud."

Pearl smiles and helps me down from the table. "Are you going to tell him?"

"When I get off of work," I say, I smiling "Until then, let’s get to work."

  ********************************

"Pearl, what's the deal with this ghost town?" I ask.

After leaving our last patients, we are walking down the halls only to find out them virtually deserted.

She shrugs. "Ehh, I don't know it. Could be nothing, come on, let’s go and find the boys," Pearl says, skipping down the halls.

  "Yeah, let’s go."

We wander the empty halls but find no one, which is strange. Suddenly, a hand comes out of nowhere and grabs me. I yelp, but when I turn around I see Giovanni.

"Giovanni!" I gasp, removing his hands. "What the hell?"

He kisses me deeply and passionately, pressing me to him.

&
nbsp; "Ok ew, gross," Pearl says. "Guys, I'm right here."

I break the kiss, blushing. "Gio, what are you doing here? And why do you smell like the mystery meat we had a couple weeks ago?"

"I need you two to stay here," he whispers, looking around wildly.

  "W...what? Why?" I stammer.

Before he can answer, he shoves Pearl in the closet with me, locking the door and leaving.

"GIOVANNI!!" I scream. "YOU BETTER UNLOCK THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW!!" No answer. "That bata!" I curse, banging on the door.

"Easy girl," Pearl says. "You need to be calm. Remember the baby?"

"That's right," I sigh, sliding down the door until I sit down. "I have to stay calm...why did he lock us in here anyway?"

"I don't know," Pearl shrugs. "But he might have had..."

  BANG! BANG! BANG!

The sounds that can only be gunfire echo in the halls, followed by the screams of people and sounds of a stampede. I leap to my feet to look in the window, but Pearl shoves me back down.

"What the..." I begin to ask, but she slaps her hand over my mouth.

Slow footsteps near our door; we hold out breath as a humanoid-shape appears in the window above us. I glance up and see a man look inside, and when he doesn’t see or hear anything, he moves to the next room. We don't breathe until we both count to a hundred twice each. Slowly, Pearl lets go of me and stands up, looking around.

"Who the hell was that?" I choke.

"I don't know, but he seems to be looking for someone," she answers.

"Oh my God, he's headed for Glitterland," I cry. "We have to go save those kids!"

"Are you out of your damn mind?" she hisses at me. "You need to protect the child you are carrying! Giovanni..."

"...Will hate me if I don't try to help those kids!" I finish for her.

  "Mala..."

"Pearl, it’s our job as doctors to protect people. And if we are scared, then those kids will be 20-times more scared than we ever will be! Most of them are very sick and their bodies can't handle the stress! If you aren't coming with me, then I'll do it myself!"

I get a hairpin and pick the lock; behind me, Pearl mutters in Mandarin or something—I don't really know. When I get the door open, she groans.

"You're a dumb ass for doing this...but I can't let you get killed alone."

Slipping from the closet, we make the least amount of noise, heading toward Glitterland. We find the front desk all but deserted. Slowly and carefully, we search the rooms; they are all empty...where have the children gone? A soft sound catches my attention coming from the room that we normally throw parties in.

  Of course!

Slowly, we approach and open the door. 50-pairs of eyes snap onto us at the same time.

  "Mala," Joy whispers. "You're ok!"

  I smile. "Yeah we're..."

  Click!

Pearl and I freeze, slowly we turn around, looking down the barrel of a gun pointed at my face.

  ********************************

  Giovanni

I check all the rooms, locking them and telling the patients to be calm as help is on its way. Bodies line the hallways; I don't believe there isn't a floor with at least 3 on them. Strange thing is...the shooter began on the top floor, the 7th, and is working his way down. He seems to have a type that he's killing too...doctors—not nurses, not patients, but just doctors.

When I realize it, my blood runs cold and I search harder for my angel. Luckily, I find her and her friend Pearl. Pulling her to me, I gave the deepest kiss before shoving her into a closet and locking it. She curses and screams bloody murder but I ignor her; can't she see that I am doing it for her own good? Making another round, I make sure everyone is set before going back to the closet. I find it open and abandoned. My heart freezes in my chest.

Of the most stubborn and crazy women I had to love! I mentally scream. Think Gio...where would she have gone?

The answer comes to me instantly. Glitterland. She loves those children, and will protect them with her life. Running quickly, I reach the place to find my worst nightmare. Malaika stands with her hands raised, Pearl right behind her, and a room full of children. The gunman's weapon is aimed right at her forehead.

She looks almost pale with fear, but I see her trying to hold her head high. When I move slowly, she glances at me; the gunman sees this and turns around, his aim now on me.

"You..." he whispers. "You don't recognize me, do you?"

I glance behind him at Pearl, who holds Malaika in a protective stance behind her before answering. "N...now should I?"

"December 12th, 2014. Your hospital treated a little girl with leukemia and a brain tumor..."

  "I didn't treat..."

"He's talking about Shelly Mathews," Pearl whispers.

My eyes widen. I remember now, that poor girl. She was at death's door with leukemia and a brain tumor. If the leukemia didn't kill her, then the tumor would. Mr. Mathews ordered us to do everything possible to save her. There was a surgery we did to remove the tumor and maybe buy the girl some extra time, but due to complications she died on the table.

"Mr. Mathews, I know that you're hurting...but hurting other people won't bring Shelly back," I say, trying to sound strong while also keeping his attention on me. I try to tell Malakia with my eyes to go into the room, but she is frozen.

"You hurt me when you decided to kill my daughter," Mr. Mathews says, and cocks the gun again.

I see his finger on the trigger and I hold my breath.

"No!" Malaika screams. "No, please stop!"

He turns back to her. "Shut up, you bitch!" he growls. "You don't know what he's done! I've lost the only thing in this world that I've loved, and it's because of him! My wife died and I only had Shelly left!”

"I lost a baby!" she yells. "Trust me, I know the pain of losing a child too! But please...put the gun down. I am a doctor, and I became a doctor to care for and treat the ones unable to do that themselves. Shelly wouldn't want you to do this...and be happy that she's not suffering anymore. She's in a better place..."

"But I wanted her with me," he whispers, his voice cracking; I can see tears slipping down his cheek.

"She is with you," she whispers. "In your heart. Please, lower the gun, you are scaring the other children..."

Mr. Mathews glances behind her and sees the other frightened children, and I see his face begin to soften. Slowly, he begins to lower his gun and seems to realize this is all a mistake.

Suddenly, the doors behind me burst open, SWAT bursting in. "FREEZE!"

Everything happens in a blur. I turn around to yell at them when I hear the cock of gun, and the click of trigger. Thinking that he's shooting the love of my life, I whip around, only to feel a sharp pain in my chest.

"GIOVANNI!" Malaika screams, running for me but Pearl holds her back.

SWAT fires at Mr. Matthew but he escapes, firing back at them while I collapse to the ground. My body begins to feel numb, darkness growing in all sides as my vison begins to darken.

"No, no, no," Malaika whispers, running over. "Gio, please, don't! Please stay awake! I'm..."

Her voice fades off into the distance as I'm swallowed by darkness.

  ********************************

  Malaika

The shot of the gun roars in my ears. I see the stream of blood shoot from his chest. The ground shakes as the love of my life falls to the ground. I don't see SWAT chase after the man; the only thing that holds my attention is Giovanni.

"LET ME GO! PEARL, LET ME GO!" I scream at Pearl.

Stomping her foot, she yelps while losing her grip, and I run to him; I drop to my knees at his side.

"No, no, no, pa mouri, tanpri renmen m 'pa mouri " I cry, begging in Creole for him to not die.

His eyes begin to flutter and slowly close. I put my ear to his chest and hear a heartbeat.

"He's alive!" I yell at Pearl. "Come help me!"

Some of the nurses come break away and help carry him to a gurney.

>   "He needs to get to an OR," Henry says, appearing behind me.

"Who will do it?" I ask.

"I will," Pearl says. "I have the steadiest hands..."

Nodding, we move silently but quickly to an OR. Pearl, Henry, and David get themselves while the nurse does the same with Giovanni. I don't believe I have any tears left as I sit by his side, holding his hand as I rock back and forth, whispering to him.

"Please don't die...please don't die. I'm carrying your baby...please Gio, squeeze my hand if you can hear me..." As if answering my prayers, I feel a light squeeze and I look at him in shock. "Gio?"

"Stop crying, mia angela," he says weakly. "It's...not good..."

"Gio, you have to live," I whisper. "I'm pregnant..."

He smiles and gently touches my stomach. "Bambino..."

"Yes, baminbo...Gio, you have to live to see this baby. Promise me you'll make it."

  "I promise," he whispers.

"Mala?" a voice says behind me. Turning around I see Pearl, David, and Henry ready.

"Give me a kiss, mia angela," he whispers.

I do, pressing my lips fully to his before pulling away for them to put the mask on his face for him to go to sleep.

I look at Pearl. "Please make sure he doesn't die...”

She chuckles and nods. "I promise he'll make it, Mala. Now stop worrying, it's not good for the baby."

  "You're pregnant?" Henry asks.

"I knew it!" David says. "Explains the fat ass."

"Hey! Gio likes my ass," I counter, putting on a mask.

"Guys!" Pearl says, getting in the middle. "Killer on the loose, guy dying on the table."

"Oh, right," David says, holding up his hands so that the nurses can put on his gloves.

Pearl takes a deep breath and holds out her hand for a scalpel.

  ********************************

For what seems like hours, I watch as Pearl, Henry, and David work on him. Pearl locates the bullet right next the aorta, which requires the most complicated procedure. There are two options, and she doesn't know which to do. I pace the room, rubbing my belly and talking to the baby.

You're going to make it, Gio...you have to live to see this baby...

I step out a moment to throw up, panting heavily as my thoughts roam over how far we've come. We've lost one baby, but have another...I can't lose this one, but I can't lose Giovanni either.
