What You Do To Me (Unexpected Love)

by Izzy Cullen

“Well, I asked you to allow me to be your number one, but I guess I’ll just have to put it this way. Abrianna Sullivan O’Hare Porter, will you marry me and will you be my wife in eleven months, actually ten sounds better. By the way, I had a writing room added to the house so you have a place to write your book.”

“Geez, could you be any more romantic?” I set my beer down and wrapped my arms around his neck.

“If that is what you wanted, why you didn’t say it? A little communication never hurt anyone.” He moved in and kissed my nose. Alex started to sing Hey there Delilah. He did more than change my name, he practically re-wrote a few parts. I was giggling like a high school girl. He made sure to sing loud and obnoxiously when he got to the chorus, the part of What you do to me.

When Alex was done, he said, “You have no clue what you do to me, Abby. I can’t have a life that doesn’t involve you or the girls.”

I put my hands on the side of his face and kissed him, “Ten months it is then.” Alex quickly scooped me up and carried me inside. “Sorry, Romeo, but the girls are in there sleeping, so you’ll have to deal with necking on the couch.”

“I’ll take whatever I can get. I love you and always will, I promise.”

I knew in my heart that he did and that he always would.

Will there be a Happily Ever After for Alex and Abby?

With ten months until the wedding, Abby and Alex were learning to navigate their new relationship. Abby was learning to open up and allow Alex to help and be a part of her life with the girls. Alex was adjusting well to small town life and the roll of a stepfather.

However, when Alex takes in a new up and coming artist, who is young, beautiful and hot, will Abby be able to trust him or will Alex falter and return to his old ways?

The stress of the heart attack that Abby’s dad suffered, managing the pub and the new book agent paying extra special attention to Abby, would she be able to stay true to herself and Alex.

Alex and Abby fought hard to have what they had now, but would their love be enough to survive everything that life throws at them. Would ten months be long enough to solidify their bond, or too short, causing both of them to give up?

  Acknowledgements

I need to thank a few people because without them I am not sure I would have started or even finished this book. Christine Zolendz was a huge part in me writing the story of Abby and Alex. If her response to my first few rough chapters wasn’t as enthusiastic as it was, I don’t think I would have had the nerve to dive in and finish the book. Christine is a talented writer and author of Fall From Grace (Mad World) and Saving Grace (Mad World). If you haven’t read her books already, please do yourself a favor and download them, they are amazing.

I need to thank my husband who has put up with my emotions and nerves throughout this journey. He still acted as if he was interested in this book; even when he was sick of listening to me go on and on. Because of him, I was able to write about love because I know what real love feels like. Thank you for being you and for loving me with all my flaws. You are amazing! You are my tattooed Alex.

My three little angels keep being you and do whatever your heart desires. I love you and always will. I’m sorry for all the instant dinners and dining out the last few months.

To the few people I told about the book, Amy, Kari and Terri, you were huge supporters and kept me positive. Thank you for taking the nerves and the fears away, it was a hard job, but you did it anyway.

If you enjoyed the book, please leave feedback on Amazon or Goodreads.

I’m crossing fingers to have the second book of Alex and Abby completed by early 2013.
