Roommates Page 45

by Valerie Reyes

  “And what brings you here?”

“You know well, father.” The older man chuckled to himself and nodded. His son was bold, but then again he was an alpha. Confidence and bravery ran through his very blood.

“Very well,” the man answered, before transforming into a wolf in front of Shawn’s very eyes. His wolf markings were a little different. While Jeremy had splotches of both black and white, his father had a uniform coating of black adorning his entire body. Jeremy, following his father’s lead, also transformed. He was a little smaller than his predecessor, but looked nimbler, something that could come in handy for the fight to come.

Shawn wondered what was happening. He wanted to step forward and get between the two men, but a beta stepped in instead, pulling him into the line of safety. Once everyone moved away, a battle erupted. Shawn’s eyes grew large at the fight, and he wanted to scream out and stop the bloodshed, but he was rendered mute by the sheer hostility of it.

It looked like they were going to kill each other. Shawn looked away, unable to watch. He could still hear the snarls and whimpers that emerged from the vicious combat. Eventually, the sound of applause sounded, and he looked around to see the black wolf lying on the ground, drenched in blood but still breathing. Jeremy, however, was still standing, his tongue lolling out of his mouth, an air of victory surrounding him. He had managed to defeat his father in battle. He was now ready to take on the position of alpha.

Slowly, Jeremy made his way to his mate, nuzzling into him gently. Shawn reached out and petted him gently, suddenly at ease. He didn’t know what the implications of this battle were, but he was relieved that Jeremy had won. He felt a sense of pride that his lover had emerged victorious.

Soon Jeremy transformed back to normal and all the men around them congratulated him on his new position. As a leader, he was now privileged above any other wolf in the pack, including his own father. Now, when the time came for Shawn to give birth, it would be a great honor that every pack member would cherish.

Together, Jeremy knew that they would bring this pack into many years of prosperity. He leaned forward and kissed his mate, glad he had made the right decision.

  Chapter 8

Eight months later, the pack was abuzz with excitement. There was gossip running from person to person. They felt that today was the day.

Inside the pack house, everyone had been evicted. The only people left were those with alpha blood running through their veins and Shawn. The omega was breathing hard, his body covered in sweat. Never in his life had he thought he would go through the struggle of labor, but here he was, panting with the pain that now consumed his body.

His mate stood by the bed, holding his hand, comforting him as his thumb rubbed the back of his hand. On his other side was Jeremy’s mother, who looked focused and determined as she moved around the room doing this and that. “Just relax,” she said as she placed a cold towel on Shawn’s head. When this was done, she looked at her son, who nodded, leaning over and biting Shawn’s mating mark that had healed beautifully. He reopened the wound, making Shawn cry out. As pain and pleasure flowed through his body with the bite, he slowly sank into a deep slumber.

A few hours later, Shawn awoke to the sound of crying. He opened his eyes, feeling a little drowsy, and looked around. His eyes went wide as he saw Jeremy standing by his side, holding a little bundle in his arms. Jeremy, sensing that his mate was now awake, smiled before sitting down on the edge of the bed beside him.

Shawn’s whole world took on a different perspective as he looked into the eyes of his daughter for the first time. A sense of pride washed over him, and he smiled deeply, his dimples on full display. Jeremy smiled and placed their child in his arms. Shawn held her, leaning down and kissing her head gently. The baby seemed to almost smile at the kiss, before closing her eyes and curling up against him.

Now, five years later, their daughter was growing up to be a beautiful and intelligent child. She was brave and determined like her alpha father, but had some of the shy qualities of her omega father. Nonetheless, the combination of both these characteristics made for a good mix, allowing her to be a leader, while also holding back and stopping herself from making rash decisions.

She was playing with some of the other pups in the pack, having fun as the caretakers of the pack watched over them. Seeing that they were not needed, the couple made their way into the pack house. Shawn followed his lover into their bedroom and when he crossed the threshold, he was taken by surprise as Jeremy scooped him up in his arms.

His hands rested on the omega’s ass, and Shawn’s legs naturally wrapped around his waist. The suddenness of the moment reminded Shawn of their first night together. He smiled brightly, the expression catching Jeremy’s eye. “What are you so smiley about?” he asked before he leaned down and kissed Shawn’s neck, his tongue lapping over the mating mark until Shawn’s moans were heard throughout the room.

“I was just remembering our first time,” he whispered softly, his fingers tangling themselves into his lover’s hair.

“Mmm, that was amazing.” Jeremy grinned ear to ear as he remembered the night. As the thoughts ran through his mind, he got excited and suddenly slammed his mate into the wall, making him gasp out loud. He pressed his hips against Shawn’s, the large bulge in his pants rubbing against him. Shawn moaned but smiled, his heart thudding with excitement as he thought of what was to come.

Jeremy’s hands squeezed Shawn’s ass as his teeth started to nip at his neck, leaving small love bites all over it until Shawn was begging for more and more. Jeremy was quick to satisfy his pleas. He suddenly moved over to the bed. He placed Shawn down for a moment and then bent him over the bed, giving his mate’s round ass a powerful slap before he grinned to himself.

He teased Shawn’s hole for a moment, using his fingers to stretch him out, getting him ready for his member. Shawn continued to moan louder now. He bit his lip, ready for what was to come. His body wanted it more than anything else.

All of a sudden, Jeremy rammed into him, forcing himself balls deep in one thrust. The two men grunted loudly as this happened, and the world around them stopped for a moment. Jeremy gave himself a minute before he started to move in and out of his mate, as far as his knot would let him go. In short but powerful thrusts he was making Shawn moan loudly, his name soon screamed by the omega.

He was certain the whole pack could hear them, but didn’t care. There was a burning lust running through his body and it wouldn’t go away until he finished. With this driving him, he went even harder, until his lover was orgasming beneath him, his body spasming with pure pleasure. When he the constriction of Shawn’s already tight ass squeeze him, he lost all control, finishing inside of him.

The two of them collapsed on the bed, panting after their loving moment together. Jeremy pulled Shawn close to him, letting the swelling of his member go down, before pulling himself out of Shawn, who blushed, looking into his lover’s eyes. He thought back to what his mate had told him on their first night together.

It was nearly a perfect memory in his mind, something he could replay at any moment. Now, as he watched it play out in his mind, he blushed deeply. Their eyes locked for a moment, a silent language traveling between them. Unheard words were being spoken, but they both understood each other perfectly.

  Shawn was pregnant again.

  Unbearable Urges

  Chapter 1

Chance Vandergriff wasn’t the kind of guy you could ignore. His stylish blond hair never had a strand out of place, his suit was always the latest style and most expensive brand anytime he went out. He was aloof but he was nice underneath the cold exterior. No one really got a chance to know him that well. Despite his well-known family name, Chance's disdain for the public eye ensured that.

He came from money. Old money. His father was a politician and had more money than he knew what to do with, although he didn't spend as much as people thought he did. He'd driven the same car since he got it for his birthday
when he turned eighteen. At twenty-four, his father wanted him to marry the daughter of one of his biggest contributors - a political match that would look good for his father. Being part of a political family, he was willing to go along with it to make his father happy.

He had never dated all that much. Having security guards and the threat of no privacy pretty much scared off most prospects. Besides the fairer sex had never really been Chance's cup of tea, not that his father had ever noticed. Having a gay son was not the best combination with hopes of a high profile political dynasty.

The types of people Chance usually rubbed elbows with, were people in his father's circle, who were used to this lifestyle. The thing is, he wanted peace and quiet and a less stressful life, but when you're the son of a famous politician, you didn't get a lot of choices.

Only meeting Denver Fredrickson a few times, he was willing to marry the man's daughter. Chance had only met her once at the last party his father threw and she'd been charming and attractive, for a girl anyway. , Her family was in the billionaire range. They'd never want for anything, but Chance had some reservations about the whole thing. Something about Denise Fredrickson had set off his warning bells, but he couldn't quite place it. When he'd told his father, he'd accused Chance of just having cold feet and he'd pressured him until Chance had given in.

Tonight, he was driving his cherry red jeep out to the woods to the lookout to clear his head. Normally teenagers came out here to make out and have sex, but Chance had always come alone.

Henry Voss rarely let his son go anywhere without supervision. The camera's could be anywhere, son, he would say. but every now and then he could convince him to let him go to the woods and just sit and look at the stars. he'd come out here in dress shoes and designer jeans and fantasize about what it would be like to live a simpler life. The kind where he could just throw on jeans and a tee shirt and have a casual day. He wanted to live his life on his own terms, without his father’s people seeing him.

It had rained a few days ago, and when he hit the outlook, his tires got stuck in the mud. he couldn't get the jeep out after driving to reverse or even the four-wheel drive. he took out his cell phone and sighed. No cell reception here, he'd have to walk back to the main road to call Triple A. His father would kill him. he wondered if he could do it without him finding out. Chance wasn’t afraid as he walked down the dark path. The slick soles and dirt and gravel made it hard to walk, but he wasn't a wimp, even if he might appear to be on the surface. he might have been born with a silver spoon in his mouth but it wasn't the kind of guy he'd wanted to be. he had learned to change a tire and oil, and he could fix basic things around the house. he'd even fixed leaky faucets in their bathrooms without telling his father, simply to prove to himself he could.

His father never would have allowed him to have an image of anything but a savvy businessman, ready to take whatever steps necessary to further his political career. Maybe that was why Chance was so against marrying Denise. he would do it to make his father happy, but as he walked down the muddy path, he wondered if his happiness would ever matter to anyone.

Tripping, he almost fell face first in the mud. he took off his shoes to find a split sole. Grunting in frustration, he checked his cell signal again and still had no bars. Shoeless, he walked feeling the sharp sting of rocks and other things in the dirt cutting up his feet.

Finally giving up, he found a stump to sit on to wait until someone found him. he didn't think it would be that long, it was a Friday night. Someone would have to come out this way eventually. Wrapping his jacket around himself tighter, he realized that when he wasn't moving the chill of the night air sunk into his bones.

An hour later, shivering and feeling like his teeth where going to chatter out of his head, he gave up on sitting there and decided to continue walking. It was only a few miles but it was now pitch black. Walking down the road, he eventually saw a path leading into the woods. he saw a light shining between the trees and decided maybe they'd have a phone there he could use. Heat would be nice too.

Walking towards the house it was further away than it looked and his feet were raw and bloody by the time he reached it. Knocking on the door he waited and heard footsteps, sighing in relief when the door started to open. he took one look at the man in the doorway and all rational thought flew out of his head.

The man that stood there was a big bear of a man. He stood well over six feet tall and had a bushy beard. He was wearing the green uniform of the state park rangers and looked surprised to see him standing there. He had the grayest eyes Chance had ever seen and his brown curly hair looked like a soft mop on the top of his head. he wanted to curl his fingers through it and see if it was as soft as it looked.

"Chance." he said and just stared at him.

"How many do I get? " He blinked and stood back to let her in.

Letting out a small laugh Chance realized he didn't say a whole sentence. "No, my name is Chance, I'm sorry. My jeep got stuck in the mud; I was walking down to the main road and saw the lights through the trees. Do you have a phone I could use?"

"Sure, I could also try to get you unstuck from the mud, from past experience Triple A doesn't like coming up here, and their big trucks get stuck. I have a few boards and some rope and chain that usually does the trick to get you out of the mud here. When it's been raining like this it can be impossible for them to get up here." He cocked his head side-ways and his expression softened when he saw how badly Chance's feet were injured. Come sit down on the couch here and let me tend to your feet, and we can talk about your car or truck."

"It's a jeep, but the back wheels just got stuck and I couldn't get it out." Chance told him and felt like an idiot. He knew that mud and tires in the wilderness weren't a good match. It was a rookie mistake. "Are you the park ranger here?"

"One of them. I'm actually wildlife. I keep poachers out and keep track of all the local wolf and bears they've tagged. I have monitoring equipment in the back." He told him as he pulled out a first aid kit and set it down on the coffee table and got a bucket of water to wash his feet and see how badly they were damaged. "What happened to your shoes?"

"I came out in dress shoes. I wasn't expecting to walk. I know, it was dumb. I was just trying to get away from my family for a few hours. I like to come out here and look at the night sky. It's the only place that feels safe and peaceful to me." Chance told him and shrugged. he helped him wash off his feet and then winced when he poured antibiotic cleaner on his feet to disinfect them.

"You look familiar," He commented as he finished bandaging up his feet and then stood back to look at him for a moment before he started to put his first aid supplies away. "Do I know you?"

"Chance Vandergriff, Henry Vandergriff's son. The politician." Chance murmured, feeling embarrassed. The man's expression changed for a moment, it was just a flash but it looked like anger. His body language was relaxed after he finished putting the supplies away.

"The storm knocked out my land line, I can get your car out when there's light, or I can drive you home now. Your choice." He said and went to grab his truck keys.

"I'd rather not return home without my car, I can justify staying out all night a lot easier than a stranger bringing me home without my car." Chance stared at him and then stood up and almost fell down. Once he'd been off his feet for a while he hadn't realized how badly they hurt. Losing his balance, Chance fell forward and grabbed his arm to keep from face planting on his hardwood floors.

"Are you alright?" He blinked at him as he grabbed him to keep him upright. Chance couldn't help but wonder how much this man knew about him. Of course, the paparazzi had caught him in some questionable scenario's, but his father's spin doctors had always managed to gloss over to the media the idea that Chance might be gay. Being caught in the arms of this bear of a man did little to calm Chance's mind.

"Nothing sitting back down won't fix. Apparently my feet hurt more than I thought they did." he said wincing. he looked up into his face and C
hance’s lips parted, he was close enough he could smell him. He smelled like pine cones and evergreens. It was an intoxicating smell to him compared to the overly perfumed people he was used to being around. Something stirred inside Chance. This is what a man should smell like. Earthy and strong, capable. He didn't need to preen like a peacock to get attention and feel confident in his own abilities.

Before Chance knew what he was doing, he leaned forward and kissed him. The minute his lips touched his, he stiffened and looked shocked. Great, Chance thought, I blew it. This guy is going to kill me. But to his surprise the man's lips became soft and responsive. Kissing him back, his hand came up to hold onto his head and his tongue plunged into his mouth. Moaning, he deepened the kiss and leaned against his rock-hard body to support Chance and his aching feet.

A moment later Chance pulled away from him and cleared his throat. "Thank you for that. I mean, thank you for fixing my feet. I mean, I don't usually go around kissing total strangers but... I don't know, sorry."

“You know,” the man said with a curious grin on his lips, “I kind of thought that might be the case.”

“What do you mean?” Chance asked.

“You don't have to worry. Your secret is safe. Not that you've done a very good job of hiding it.”

Feeling completely stupid, Chance hobbled back over to the couch and sat down. He probably thought he was a complete weirdo now. It was the most erotic kiss he'd ever experienced and it had happened out of the blue. Chance didn't know what prompted him to kiss the man, but the way he'd kissed him back was like a man starved for a steak. It had stirred him in ways he’d never experienced before. He'd had a couple of behind-closed-doors-boyfriends in college that he had fooled around with, but nothing had as much chemistry or spark as that single kiss.

Blinking at the ground, he tried to process what he was feeling. He was technically engaged to a woman, why had he kissed him? He knew the safest thing he could do for everyone was get away from him as fast as possible.
