Bother Me

  “God, Scotty, I can’t—”

“Shh,” Scotty said, pressing one finger over Tighe’s lips, shutting him up. “Don’t say that. Don’t say you can’t when your body is straining for you to say yes. Your cock is so hard for me I bet you could hammer nails through a two-by-four.”

And just to prove his point, Scotty’s hand trailed around to his fly and cupped him right through his jeans. His cock jerked painfully in the confined, unyielding material, but he rolled his hips into Scotty’s hand, wanting more.

“I want you, Tighe,” Scotty whispered, repeating his earlier words. “I want you to shove this big cock inside me. I want you to make me come so hard I see stars.”

“Jesus,” Tighe muttered. The unmistakable sound of a zipper was heard a split second before he felt Scotty’s hand sliding into his jeans. “If you touch me I won’t be able to stop, Scotty. I want you too much.”

“Good,” Scotty breathed, and his hand palmed his bare cock. All of Tighe’s good intentions evaporated in a puff of smoke as he pulled Scotty’s hand out of his pants and lifted the smaller man.

“You had your chance to run.”

“I don’t want to run, Tighe. Except if it’s to your bedroom.”

And that was all Tighe needed to hear. Keeping Scotty close, he made his way to the bedroom, which was a little difficult since Scotty was walking backward and Tighe had to maneuver with an extra set of legs. But as soon as the bed was next to them it seemed to be a race over who could get naked first. Of course, they were each hampered by the fact that they were helping each other, and when he got his first glimpse of Scotty’s cock, his mouth began to salivate. It was long and slightly slender but curved beautifully toward his belly.

“Come on,” he said and turned to get onto the bed. He held out his hand and grasped Scotty’s as the other man joined him. Their lips met again, softly, silkily. Their arms and legs came together, meshing, wrapping around one another. Tighe moaned again at the incredible feel of Scotty’s lithe body straining against his own, and Scotty answered back.

Their breathing constricted and though Tighe was in heaven, he wanted more. He craved more. So he broke the kiss and turned his body until he was staring at Scotty’s hard cock. The blood-engorged member stood proud from a dusting of curls. It took his breath away as it curved beautifully up Scotty’s stomach. It twitched as if knowing it was being admired, bobbing slightly above a full sack. Tighe couldn’t help himself, he licked the sack, feeling each individual ball, weighing and playing with them as he palmed Scotty’s dick. He ran a finger over the top, catching the moisture leaking from the tip. He used it to coat the head. He rubbed it over and over, back and forth as his mouth kissed the hot skin at the base of the shaft then moved up, taking his sweet time to enjoy it.

The skin on the head was smooth but swollen as pre-cum leaked steadily from the tip. Tighe sucked it into his mouth, using the flat top of his tongue to massage up and down. He held onto Scotty’s hips as he started his momentum, in and out on mouth and tongue.

But Scotty wasn’t just taking without giving. Without breaking Tighe’s hold on him, he swiveled his body around until he was able to take Tighe’s own cock into his mouth. And oh, it was erotic and sinful, and he wanted more. His first time with a man had been magical, but he’d also been a novice. A virgin. Now he was able to take all the amazing sensations pouring through him and simply ride the crescent of pleasure. Scotty’s mouth had settled over Tighe’s dick, licking and lapping as teeth tenderly and teasingly bit the crown. His tongue soothed any pain inflicted. Together they worked their own magic on each other until they were both worked up. Tighe pulled back reluctantly from Scotty’s delicious taste because as much as he would love to finish here and now, he needed to be inside Scotty when he came.

Scotty let out a groan of loss and tried to grab his hips, but Tighe turned around and faced him. He looked into luminous blue eyes, awash in passion, and felt his heart stutter with something different than desire. Something warm, something deeper. It was the same something that came over him each time Scotty touched him.

He leaned down and captured Scotty’s lips, kissing him almost ferociously. He tasted himself on the man’s lips, a mixture of musk and salt, and wondered if Scotty was thinking the same, tasting himself as well. He loomed over him and Scotty fell back.

Tighe’s hands roamed over Scotty’s smooth chest, and he rolled his nipples between his fingers.

Scotty arched his back, pushing himself more into Tighe’s hardness. “Please, Tighe.” He begged between gasps of air. “Fuck me. Please, fuck me!”

Tighe could no longer stand it either. He reached over to the nightstand and opened the drawer to take out a bottle of lube and a condom. He squirted a generous amount on his fingers before searching Scotty’s tight hole and working a digit inside.

“Fuck!” Scotty moaned, closing his eyes. “That feels so good.”

Tighe silently agreed but was beyond speech as he concentrated on widening Scotty’s rosette. When he inserted another finger, he felt the muscled ring relax completely, and knew it was time. He withdrew his fingers and tore open the condom wrapper before sliding it on, pinching the end as he rolled it down his aching shaft. He used more lube on his sheathed cock, getting himself nice and slick before angling his hips. He leaned his forehead against Scotty’s as he began to push inside. There was no resistance as he slid into deep heat.

Tighe moaned, taking a moment to steady his breathing and control his shaking limbs. His body was flushed in mind tingling pleasure and he was on the verge of losing control. He hoped like hell he didn’t blow his load before he made Scotty come.

He began to move slowly, withdrawing only to plunge back in, taking a moment between each thrust to let them both really feel the bliss of being joined. Little by little, Tighe increased the tempo until he had a smooth motion going.

Scotty’s fingers plunged into his hair, gripping tight with each surge, and he urged Tighe on with little rapturous mewls.

Their bodies were tight against each other, but Tighe wiggled one hand between them to grasp Scotty’s cock. He used the steadily leaking fluid to lubricate him, allowing his hand to pump up and down in time with his hips. And then all thought, rhyme, and reason fled as his control snapped. Tighe could feel that tingle coming up his spine and didn’t know how long he could hold on.

“I’m going to come,” he gasped in Scotty’s ear. “Tell me you’re with me!”

“Yes!” Scotty moaned, his hips undulating wildly under him. Tighe pumped him faster and faster until he erupted with a splash of hot juice coating his hand. And with the feel of Scotty climaxing, he finally let his own release fly.

With a shout, he surged once, twice, and exploded. Boneless, he collapsed upon Scotty’s sweaty body, breathing heavily as his heart pounded in his chest. Scotty’s arms snuck around him, holding him tightly, and that’s when he knew he was in trouble. He’d been in trouble of losing his heart to the young surfer ever since he’d met him three months ago.

Pulling out of Scotty’s arms, he sat up. He reached down to take off the condom and throw it in the small trash can by the bed.

“Tighe? What’s wrong?” Scotty asked softly.

“I don’t want to be gay,” he whispered.

“What?” Scotty sat up next to him.

Tighe sighed and flopped back onto the bed. He flung an arm over his eyes. “I was married. To a woman. I was thirty-five and I’d been fighting these feelings for a long time. I thought if I married a woman they would go away.”

“Why would you want to deny them?”

He took his arm down and looked at Scotty. “This place is a like a bubble. I see men holding hands with men, not giving a fuck, but you’d never see that where I’m from in Texas. It’d be the kiss of death. If I was drowning and someone knew I was gay, they’d watch me go under.”

  “Tighe, no—”

“Yes,” Tighe said, interrupting him. “No one helps gay people, so I
got married. I should never have married her, I know that. And she was a nice girl until she found out I fucked her brother.”

  “What?” Scotty’s mouth dropped open.

“Yeah. What a jerk ass move of me, right? I didn’t even know my brother-in-law was gay. It was the dirty family secret. On my wedding day, I knew I was making a huge fucking mistake. But I wanted to fit in, and I was doing a damn fine job until he cornered me in the bathroom.”

  “Your first time?”

Tighe nodded. “And for two years, I tried to forget. But…it gnawed at me. Have you ever felt so much guilt it consumed you? I had to tell my wife.”

  “She left you.”

“She took everything, including my cattle feed business. She demanded I sign over everything to her or she’d tell my secret.” Tighe shook his head. “I was so ashamed I gave her what she wanted.”

“Jesus,” Scotty said. He grabbed Tighe’s hand, but the contact wasn’t something he could face right now so he pulled away. “Tighe?”

Tighe sat up and grabbed his jeans. Without looking at the young man in his bed, he got up and dressed. “I can’t do this right now, Scotty.”

  “Can’t do what?”

Tighe forced himself not to look at Scotty’s nakedness as he gestured between them. “This. I’ve only been divorced a year. I lost everything. I’m thirty-eight years old and I live paycheck to paycheck. You’re young, gorgeous, and you don’t need some old loser panting over you.”

“You think I give a shit about money? Or your age? I’ve been into you since the first moment I saw you. What just happened between us was amazing. No, it was more than that. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted in a boyfriend.”

  “Please don’t say that word.”

“What, boyfriend? Why? Why are you so ashamed of being gay?”

“Because I don’t want to be gay!”

He saw anger cover Scotty’s face, but underneath that he also saw sadness and disappointment. Scotty rose from the bed and grabbed his clothes, pulling them on with jerky movements.

“Scotty, wait…please. I just can’t be open about this.”

“I’m not going to live my life in the closet, Tighe. That’s not who I am. Nobody cares if we’re boyfriends—”

  “Everybody cares!”

“No, Tighe, they don’t. You’re caught up in a stigma of what everybody thinks and yeah, there is some bigotry out there, but the majority of people don’t care.”

“Listen, I don’t want to argue with you.”

“Fine. You don’t want to be gay, so stay in your fucking closet. I won’t bother you again,” Scotty said in a cold voice.

  Chapter Five

Early the next morning, before the sun was even up, Tighe marched out to his truck to drive the half hour to the ranch outside of Valencia. The day was sure to be hot, and the land was dusty. It was going to be a long, hard day of repairing fences and trying desperately not to think of Scotty.

He greeted his boss and several other hands as he made his way through the barn. Hard work was just what he needed to get his mind off what had happened yesterday. He’d dreamed of the surfer last night, all things sexual, which had made him hard as steel when he’d woken up. No matter where he turned, what he did, Scotty was on his mind and it was driving him crazy.

As he gathered up the equipment he needed for the work ahead, the horses began to neigh and dance around in their stalls. He stopped and checked them out, as did the other workers, but the horses distress only increased.

A second later the earth began to shake.

This wasn’t some minor tremor. Even not knowing a thing about earthquakes, Tighe knew this was big. He was knocked off his feet and grabbed one of the stall walls in an effort to keep himself upright. It was a losing battle and down he went, as did half the barn. Men were yelling, horses were screaming, and to Tighe it seemed like the world was ending. The rolling waves lasted forever as he was battered with wood and debris. All he could do was cover his head and pray the rollercoaster ride ended soon.

And then just like that, it did.

His stomach, however, was still quavering as he pushed off the rubble and got to his feet. There were moans and groans coming from various piles, and he moved mechanically, helping men detangle themselves. No one seemed hurt worse than some cuts and scrapes, but two horses were badly injured. The others had escaped the barn and were currently running around wild, clearly frightened out of their minds. When the next earthquake hit, it wasn’t as strong and Tighe was able to stay on his feet. It only lasted a few seconds and then things were still once more.

“This isn’t going to go on forever, is it?” he asked one of his co-workers.

The man shook his head. “Aftershocks. Might be a few more, might not be.”

Tighe dug out his cell phone, but there wasn’t any signal. Something that powerful must have knocked out a few cell towers. His first thought was his mother. The second thought was Scotty.

“I have to get back to the city,” he said. “I have family. I have…”

He was going to say a boyfriend, but Scotty wasn’t really his boyfriend. He could’ve been, but he’d fucked up. What if something happened to Scotty? Oh God, he couldn’t seem to stop fucking up. He had to find him.

“Go,” said his boss. “If anyone has any family they need to get to, then go. And if you need shelter come back here. That was a bad one. A six or seven, possibly.”

  “That’s bad, huh?”

His boss gave him a grim look. “That’s buildings coming down.”

Tighe didn’t wait any longer. He took off running to his truck. His heart pounded in fear as he raced to the freeway. The 405, however, was a parking lot. Not only were cars literally stopped in the all the lanes, but he could see nothing but a sea of taillight extending into the distance. He wasn’t going to get anywhere in the truck. He pulled to the shoulder and began hoofing it, but it was a long fucking way to Santa Monica.

As he pushed on, he couldn’t believe what had happened. He saw some fires and he saw that the bridge over the highway had partially collapsed. People were swarming the road, helping others and giving assistance where needed. He stopped to catch his breath and realized he was going nowhere fast. He needed something that could maneuver through small, tight areas. Something like a motorcycle. He looked around and saw a small one a few feet ahead, just sitting with the key still in the ignition. He didn’t see the driver and figured he was off helping someone, and although he should feel guilty as hell for resorting to grand theft auto, he didn’t care. All he could think about was his mother and Scotty, the two most important people in his life. He got on the bike, cranked up the engine, and took off, not even looking back to see if the owner had witnessed his theft.

  * * * *

The first thing Scotty felt was pain. There wasn’t one part of him that wasn’t throbbing, and he had to concentrate on remembering what happened. He’d been working at his computer when the world began to shake, but this wasn’t a simple earthquake like they usually were. This one was so strong everything had crashed to the ground, including himself. He remembered trying to get under his desk, but he wasn’t sure if he made it. There had been a thunderous boom and everything went dark.

Slowly, he began to wiggle his limbs to see if anything was broken. When he got to his legs everything seemed to work fine, but when he moved his foot excruciating pain hit him so hard all he could do was gasp and pass out.

The next time he came to, he realized he was in trouble. His brain had processed enough to figure out the apartment building had collapsed with him inside it. Without moving his foot, he felt around to see how big the area was. He felt the smooth underbelly of his desk, which meant he had managed to get under it as the world shook apart. Debris was all around him and he gently probed where his foot was, discovering it was caught between chunks of concrete and mortar. As much as his foot hurt him, it didn’t escape his notice that if he hadn’t made it under his desk it could’ve
been his whole body crushed. He could’ve died. Right now, however, he was alive and that was all that mattered.

He didn’t know how long he lay there, surrounded by the dark, but it allowed his mind to wander. He thought of his family, his mother and father who were safely traveling through Australia right now trekking the Outback. His parents were great believers in experiencing the world, and every summer they took off on some adventure or another. At least he didn’t have to worry about them. What about his buddies? Were Jesse and Sandra, Vic and Lisa, Brett, and Chad all right?

  What about Tighe?

Even in the predicament he was in his blood ran cold at the thought of something happening to Tighe. What would he do if Tighe was hurt? Or…please, no…dead? Suddenly he seemed like the biggest fucking loser letting Tighe’s reluctance to admit being gay get to him. Instead of being supportive, of helping the man, he’d gotten mad and stormed out. He knew each person had their moment of self-doubt before coming out. Instead of helping Tighe, he’d gotten mad. Oh, God, he had to get out of here, he had to find Tighe. He strained and pushed but other than causing pain to shoot through his body via his foot, nothing budged. He was stuck in a little corner of debris in a collapsed building. The reality of anyone getting to him in time was slim. He could very well die in here.

He closed his eyes and let his mind drift, and it drifted right to Tighe. He prayed he’d see the man again to convince him they deserved a shot at letting their attraction for one another turn into love.

  Chapter Six

Tighe methodically moved one cement block after another, keeping his mind blank of any thought other than finding Scotty alive. He and his stolen bike had made it back to Santa Monica, although it had taken a lot of maneuvering and illegal driving. Still, considering that all of Los Angeles was in crisis mode, the last thing the cops cared about was a motorbike driving the wrong way down streets.

His first step had to been to check on his mother. The nursing home had fared surprisingly well. The building was only a few years old and had used all the latest innovations for earthquake safety. Now it was a testament to how careful design planning worked. His mother was scared and she had clutched his hand frantically, until he realized she was saying Scotty’s name in her limited speech mobility. Assured that his mother was in capable hands, he’d left to find Scotty.
