"You're giving me money," she asked.
He frowned. "Just open the envelope."
She held the envelope in her hand. "There better be a damn check in here."
"What if there isn't?" he replied.
Anastasia refused to open the envelope and continued to talk. "You can take your ass back to Mississippi."
"Please open the damn thing," Cassius said in a harsh tone.

She finally opened the envelope and her eyes glossed over the letter from New Orleans Mayor Cecil Rivers to Cassius.
Mr. Wynn:
We're delighted that you've agreed to become our accountant in the City of New Orleans. You had a great interview and everyone believes you'll be a great asset. We look forward to seeing you on Jan. 9. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Sincerely
Mayor Cecil Rivers.
Anastasia screamed and hopped into his arms. "Oh my God, we'll be in the same city."
Cassius nodded. "I interviewed for the job during the Thanksgiving holidays at the Bayou Classic."
She questioned him. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want to say anything until I got the job," he said.
Cassius dropped on his left knee. "Will you marry me?"
She stood motionless from the shock for several seconds until she screamed "Yes" at the top of her lungs.
A joyous Cassius lifted her in the air, celebrating their future marriage. "I haven't been this happy in a long time."
The day after Christmas, they headed over to Kay Jewelers' to pick out an engagement ring.
As Cassius placed a three-karat diamond ring onto Anastasia's left index finger, waves of excitement flooded her soul. "I'll spend the rest of my life making you happy."
Cassius didn't utter a sound. He was grateful to have a second chance to start over and Anastasia provided that opportunity.
