Sex, Vows & Babies_Mixed Into Love

“Holy crap!” I gasped at the sight of the five-carat, emerald-cut diamond, set on a platinum band with baguettes flanking it on either side. It was resting in the palm of his hand. There wasn’t a fancy jewelry box, just the ring. Not that it needed one—the ring was stunning all by itself. “You bought me a ring?”
My eyes filled with tears, blurring my view of the prettiest thing I’d ever seen in my life. It didn’t stop me from seeing Dane’s eyes flare as he slid it onto my finger. “Of course I bought you a ring. A guy doesn’t propose to the woman he loves without giving her an incentive to say yes.”
I dropped my hand down to my lap. As gorgeous as the ring was, it paled in comparison to the man kneeling in front of me and the way he was looking at me. “You love me?”
“Enough with the parroting shit, Addilyn,” he growled. “I want you to be pregnant. I want you to marry me. And I love you. None of this should come as a surprise to you. Not unless I’m doing something wrong and making you doubt me.”
“No!” I cried, covering his lips with my index finger. “You’re amazing. Perfect. You just never said the words, and I didn’t want to assume. Cut me a break, okay? I’m totally new to the whole relationship thing.”
I slid my finger lower and rubbed his bottom lip. His tongue swept out to lick me, making me shiver even though I yanked it away.
“Love isn’t a strong enough word for what I feel for you, baby. I’m sorry I didn’t say it sooner, but I thought you knew.”
“I love you, too,” I blurted out. “I didn’t say it either, but the feelings were there all the same.”
“Baby, I’ve known you loved me from the moment you gave me your virginity.”
I slugged him on his shoulder and winced at the unexpected pain in my hand. I hadn’t hit him that hard.
“Crap!” I yelped, twisting my wrist around to peer at my ring and make sure I hadn’t damaged it. “I forgot about the rock you slipped on my finger when I wasn’t looking.”
“Like you forgot to tell me yes?”
Whoopsie, I guessed I hadn’t given him an answer. “Yes, Dane. I’d love to be your wife.” He beamed a smile at me, and I couldn’t resist teasing him. “Even though you forgot to ask me.”
“What can I say? One way or another I was going to make you my wife.”
“Then I guess I didn’t need to bother saying yes,” I laughed.
“Now that we’ve got that all squared away, how about you go pee on a stick and find out if we’re going to have a baby.”
“Hoo boy,” I sighed, rising to my feet and grabbing the pink box off the cushion. “Let’s do this thing.”
I wandered towards the bathroom with Dane hot on my heels. I didn’t let him follow me inside, opting to shut the door in his face instead.
“Hey!” he called out.
“When I said ‘let’s,’ I meant me. Not both of us. It’s not like you can pee on it for me. Plus, I haven’t peed in front of you, and I don’t plan on starting now.”
“Fine,” he growled. “But don’t you dare read the results without me.”
I went as quickly as I could, ripping open the box and scanning through the instructions as I yanked my pants down and sat on the toilet. A couple of minutes later, I’d washed my hands, and the test was resting face-up on the bathroom counter. When I opened the door, Dane was waiting for me with his hands on either side of the frame. I wrapped my arms around his waist, happy to stand there with him in silence while we waited until we could read the test results. And then we moved as one to the counter, peering down at the two pink lines on the little white stick. The lines that meant everything to both of us.
Epilogue
Dane
“It was a pleasure doing business with you,” Andrew Rourke told me. He was the new owner of my Chicago bar, and he’d called to tell me the funds had been wired to my account that morning.
“You as well. I’m glad Cee-Cee was able to finally connect us so we could get this deal into place.”
“I’ll let her know that we were finally able to close this deal when I see her at dinner tonight,” he promised before we hung up.
It had taken longer to sell the place than I’d liked. The night we’d found out Addilyn was pregnant, I’d been in a meeting with Cee-Cee Thompson, the PR rep from the firm I’d hired to help build buzz for the place. I’d expected to work on a plan to position it better on the market since I’d put it up for sale. I’d been pleasantly surprised when she’d mentioned that she might be able to hook me up with a potential buyer, but then I’d had to take off because I got the call from Addilyn and needed to get my ass back to Atlanta.
With the discovery of Addilyn’s pregnancy and her run-in with Gentry at the front of my mind, it had been another couple of months before I’d followed up with Cee-Cee again. At that point, Andrew’s schedule had been jam packed, so it had taken us a while to connect. But it was finally done, and I didn’t have anything left in Chicago that would pull me away from the life I was building in Atlanta.
“Addilyn!” I called, heading out of my office in search of my wife.
My wife. It never got old calling her that. I’d rushed her to the courthouse to get our license a few days after we got engaged. When I’d learned there wasn’t a wait for us to get married in Georgia like there would have been in Illinois, I’d convinced her to let me get everything ready that same day so we could be married right away. My crazy girl actually said yes, and five hours later she became my wife. She wore a lacy white dress I’d picked out and carried a huge bouquet of mixed roses and peonies with a strand of pearls wrapped around the stems—an heirloom we planned to pass down to the baby girl she was carrying. We’d just found out the week before at her five-month checkup.
“Geesh,” she sighed, shuffling towards me with her arms underneath her belly like she was trying to hold it up. “I’m coming. You don’t have to yell.”
I ached to lift her up and spin her around, but her baby belly prevented me from acting on the impulse. It didn’t stop me from doing a lot of other things to her, though. “It’s official. I no longer own a bar in Chicago.”
“That’s awesome,” she breathed. I knew she’d been worried I’d have to be away from her during the pregnancy. Having this all taken care of before she went back for her last semester on Monday was a relief for both of us.
“It’s cause for celebration, is what it is.” Tugging her hand, I led her to the master bedroom. Standing at the edge of the bed, I gripped the hem of her shirt and drew it up over her head and let it fall to the floor at our feet. I popped the clasp on her bra, chuckling when she heaved a deep sigh of relief when her tits bounced free. When I palmed one and lifted it towards my lowered head to latch onto a pink nipple, her sigh of relief turned into a moan of pleasure. Her tits had been ultra-sensitive lately, and I took full advantage of it to quickly work her into a frenzy.
I continued working her tits as I slid her leggings and panties down her thighs. Tearing my lips from her, I shoved them all the way to the floor and helped her step out of them. I didn’t waste any time in getting rid of my own clothes and tossing them on the ground. Then I gently laid her back on the bed and spread her legs so I could lick up and down her drenched folds.
“I love how wet your pretty little pussy gets for me.” I moved up her body until I was nestled between her thighs with my cock nudging her entrance. “I want to feel it wrapped tight around my cock.”
I thrust forward, sinking inside with one powerful surge. The walls of her pussy were already pulsing around my cock, and I knew neither of us was going to last long. I was careful to keep all my weight on my arms as I drove in and out of her.
“Give it to me, baby. I want to feel you come all over my cock.”
My dirty talk was enough to send her over the edge, screaming my name. I pumped into her a couple more times before I exploded inside her. Panting hard, I fell to the mattress next to her and pulled her into my arms.
“Maybe you should se
ll the club here, too,” she rasped.
I looked down and found her smiling at me. “Why?”
“Because I love the way you celebrate.”
“Baby, we don’t have to make shit up. We’re going to have a lifetime of things to celebrate.”
We did, and we marked every milestone the same way—wrapped up in each other’s arms.
Curious about Andrew Rourke? He’s the hero in Sucked Into Love (Bachelorette Party Series 1). Cee-Cee Thompson’s story (Checked Into Love) is coming April 3.

About the Author
I absolutely adore reading—always have and always will. When I was growing up, my friends used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.
I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.
