“No, honey,” Jason said. “You’re okay, just stay where you are. It’s more discreet this way.”

  “But you’re —”

Jason smiled as he took both of their erections in hand, gazing into Taylor’s eyes. A sound came out of Taylor’s mouth that wasn’t quite a moan and it wasn’t quite a groan either. Jason looked up at him, trying to make sure that it was a pleasurable sort of noise. From the half-closed eyes and the slightly open mouth, he could tell that it was. Still, it would only be polite to check. “Does this feel good?”

“Uh huh,” Taylor said. Jason tightened his grip slightly, speeding up and adding to the friction. He leaned up to kiss Taylor on the mouth, Taylor’s tongue wrestling against him, the mind-blowing sensation of the kiss adding to the feeling in a way that Jason had never felt before, as if every single part of his body was engaged at the same time.

“I’m so close,” he heard himself say.

“I’m going to cum,” Taylor said, almost at the same time. They stared into each other’s eyes as they both came, Jason barely able to stop himself from screaming out in pleasure. He wanted to close his eyes, but Taylor’s own were mesmerizing, and feeling them both cum as his hand was wrapped around them somehow intensified his orgasm even more.

They took a few seconds as they both recovered. Taylor finally seemed to be able to catch his breath a little when he looked down and his eyes widened in horror. “Shit, I don’t have anything to clean us up with.”

“It’s cool,” Jason said, laughing. “We can use my shirt.”

“Your shirt?” Taylor replied, sounding alarmed.

“It’s just a shirt,” Jason said. “It’s fine. It’s just a bit of spunk, it’ll come off after I put it through the wash.”

Taylor choked on a laugh. He watched as Jason took his shirt off and started wiping off both of their pants. It was a good thing that it was dark and they were so well hidden by the bushes, Jason thought, because doing this anywhere else would have been entirely too revealing. Even if they had been quiet — which they had been — the result of their encounter was more than enough for anyone to be able to tell what had just happened.

“Listen,” Jason said. “I don’t think they’re going to let us into the restaurant.”

Taylor laughed, throwing his head back. “The lack of shirt?”

“Among other things,” Jason said, looking at Taylor’s crotch and wiggling his eyebrows. Taylor rolled his eyes, but he was still laughing.

  Chapter Thirty-Four

“And you’re sure you don’t mind this,” Taylor said to Jason for probably the fifth or sixth time. He had intended to have a nice dinner date with him, maybe take him out somewhere for dessert later. Jason had told Taylor that eating ice cream was one of his favorite things, and Taylor was more than happy to indulge Jason. In anything that Jason wanted. He hadn’t meant to start something when he had asked Taylor to walk away from the restaurant, it had kind of just happened naturally.

The way their relationship had developed. If it was even a relationship. But it had to be something, at least from what Jason had been acting like. He hadn’t seemed too happy about the fact that Taylor had kept a secret from him, even going as far as thinking that it was a bad thing. In fact, though there was no way for Taylor to know this, he kind of thought that there was a chance that Jason was scared. And if Jason was scared, that meant that he liked Taylor as much as Taylor liked him. Well, almost as much. Taylor couldn’t imagine anyone liking anyone else as much as Taylor liked Jason.

Jason was spread out on the sofa, his head on Taylor’s lap. “Seriously, I don’t mind.”

“It just feels a little shitty,” Taylor said. “I never mean to impose things on you and then —”

“We end up fucking in public so we have to go to a drive-thru so we can eat at home?” Jason replied, winking at him. “Seriously, relax. I liked it. It was fun. It wasn’t just fun, it was incredible.”

“Yeah, but it’s not the same,” Taylor said, sounding a bit more irritated than he had intended to. “Because if I had planned to stay over tonight, that’s one thing, but I didn’t. So that’s another thing altogether, right?”

Jason looked at him and shrugged. “Not really.”

“I can’t just crash at your place whenever I want to,” Taylor murmured under his breath. “That would just not be a very cool thing to do.”

“To who? Did I ever tell you that you can’t stay here?”

  “No, but —”

“But what? I like it when you’re here,” Jason said. Then he got a very serious look on his face, one that was making Taylor worry. “Do you want to hear something dumb?”

“Sure,” Taylor replied. “Though I doubt it’s actually dumb.”

“It is,” Jason said, rolling his eyes. “It’s really stupid. But I’m still going to tell you because you’re actually super sweet and you’ve never made me feel stupid, even when I am.”

Taylor bit back a smile. “Thank you.”

“So, when — when Blaine came over,” Jason started. Taylor could tell that he was trying to keep his voice from breaking. He softly stroked the top of Jason’s head as he spoke, trying his best to keep him calm even though what he was saying was so obviously hard for him. “That first time. The time I told you about.”

“Yeah,” Taylor replied, keeping his voice quiet. “I remember.”

“Ever since he came over that first time, I’ve been having a really hard time sleeping,” Jason said. “Unless I’m — I don’t know.”

“You already started to tell me, you may as well finish,” Taylor said.

“Unless I’m with company,” Jason said.

  “With company?”

“You know,” Jason replied, looking away from him. “With you. I don’t bring anyone else around, not since we — not since we met, really.”

  “You haven’t?”

“No,” Jason said. “To be honest, I thought about it. I — that’s why I went out to that club that one time, the time you met me outside at that coffee place near the theater?”

Taylor nodded, running his fingertips over the top of Jason’s head. He was right, there were little tiny hairs there that Taylor couldn’t see, but he could feel them as he touched him. He wanted to stroke his head forever, find all the little secrets about Jason’s body that he hadn’t found quite yet. Taylor was pretty sure that he would have been happy to stay there for the rest of his life.

“Yep,” Taylor said. “I remember. The time I got pathetically drunk and asked you for another chance.”

“I didn’t think it was pathetic, I thought it was cute.”

“Okay, that makes one of us,” Taylor said, shaking his head and cracking a smile. “But yeah, of course I remember that.”

“I couldn’t go through with it,” Jason said, looking at the ceiling. “You were just stuck in my head. It was as if I couldn’t shake you off, no matter how hard I tried. And I really tried, trust me, I tried. I called my best friend and she and I went out. She went home with someone and I — well, I got a phone call from you. And honestly, your phone call kind of changed my life.”

Taylor looked at him. He thought he had a good idea of what Jason meant, but he still wanted to hear it from him. “What do you mean?”

“I mean, it kind of proved to me that you were serious, and I wanted you to be serious so much,” Jason replied. “I think that was one of the reasons I was so upset when you asked me to keep things low-key. Because it was such a big deal to me.”

“I’m sorry I was such an idiot,” Taylor said. “Again. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to apologize to you enough for how poorly I handled shit.”

“It’s okay,” Jason replied. “To be honest, I’m glad something like that happened. Because it made me realize just how much I liked you, and it was way more than I thought at first. Honestly, you’re so gorgeous and it’s still kind of mind-boggling to me that you’re interested in me.”

  “I am,” Taylor sai
d. “I’m more than just interested in you. So you better get used to it.”

“I’m trying to get used to it. But anyway, I digress. As much as I like complimenting you, that wasn’t what I was trying to do there. I was just trying to tell you that it’s really nice to have you here. This place felt so wrong after Blaine — after he did the thing. I thought I would have to move. And I would hate to move, the rent is cheap, the location is fantastic and I’ve lived in this place for almost eight years now. I like it a lot. And I thought, I don’t know, I thought I would have to move and never see it again. I was so angry at Blaine. On top of stealing my shit to commit suicide in my house, so that I would go out and be the one to find him, it felt like he took my home from him. I mean, I know that I’m probably being unfair because I don’t think he intended it like that, but it really felt like that. I thought about moving a few times and just the thought of that made me so angry. He can’t just run me off from my own home like that because he decided to be a dick, can he?”

“No,” Taylor replied, shaking his head. “Of course not.”

“But that’s seriously what I thought was happening. I really didn’t think that there was any way that I could stay here, I was considering it pretty seriously. Then you happened and I kind of forgot all about Blaine,” Jason said. He took a deep breath before he continued. “And like, I know this might seem a little bit intense because things aren’t that far into our, well, whatever this is. But the thing is, I felt so safe. Like I didn’t have to worry about the fact that this terrible thing had happened in my house only a few days before. To be honest, it made me feel a little guilty. I wasn’t even thinking about him.”

Taylor nodded. “That’s kind of good, though. You don’t want to be crushed by guilt. You didn’t do anything wrong, that’s just the natural human response.”

  “Can I ask you something?”

“Of course,” Taylor replied, looking down at him. “The fact that you even have to ask me that is ridiculous. You can ask me anything, Jason. I would tell you anything.”

“I know,” Jason said, smiling back at him. “But this feels kind of invasive.”

  “Jason…”

“Sorry, okay,” Jason said, swallowing. “What happened after you found your mom? Not — not immediately after. Just like, over the next few weeks. I know it’s not the same at all, but I have no point of reference. It kind of throws me for a loop that I don’t know what’s normal, you know?”

“Well, normal is different for everyone,” Taylor said. He didn’t like talking about this, and it wasn’t as if it was an experience he just shared with anyone, but Jason wasn’t anyone. Jason was Jason, and he hadn’t been lying when he had told him that he could ask him anything. “As for me, it was just something that we had to figure out over time. We couldn’t really afford to move, but I did avoid leaving my bedroom for a while. So when I was in my house, I pretty much just didn’t leave my room. That probably helped my grades a lot, actually, since I would stay back at school and study at the library.”

  “You would?”

“Yes,” Taylor replied, chuckling at the memory. “And my dad, he wouldn’t cut me any slack. He was strict before my mom died, and then he got way harsher. It was probably to keep my mind occupied, and honestly, it worked.”

“So that’s what you did, kept busy?”

“Right,” Taylor said. “A bit of therapy, later, when I first moved here. That helped, too.”

“You are in therapy right now?”

“No,” Taylor replied, shrugging. “Not right now, but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to it if I felt like I had to. There’s no shame in therapy, Jason, if that’s what you feel like you need to do.”

“I know there’s no shame in therapy,” Jason replied, twisting his lips. He didn’t look upset, he looked like he was lost in thought. “I just wish there was something more actionable I could do. I don’t want to rely on you not to feel bad about my own living room.”

“But why not?” Taylor said, leaning down and kissing him softly on the mouth. “I’m going to be here.”

  “What if you’re not here?”

“That’s what you have my phone for,” Taylor replied, grinning at him. “Honey.”

  Then he winked.

  Chapter Thirty-Five

Jason couldn’t help himself. He was tired and sore from exercising the day before. His legs hurt from the pretty recent orgasm, too. But the moment that Taylor had winked at him, it was as if all his defenses had melted. Taylor, whose life had been so tragic, and who always had a smile on his face. Who always seemed to be there for Jason, even when Jason didn’t realize that he needed him. Who was so willing to do anything, be there, whenever Jason needed him to be.

He sat up and kissed Taylor softly on the mouth. At first, it was just a peck, his lips pressed against Taylor in an expression of gratefulness. Or at least that was what Jason had intended. The kiss soon turned into more, though, as Taylor parted his lips and let him explore his mouth with his tongue. He melted into the kiss — or at least that was what it felt like — until their breathing had quickened again. He took a second to catch his breath, then each one of his legs around Taylor. He was kneeling up on top of him and kissing him, this time a little more insistently. His hands were on Taylor’s hard chest, tracing up and down his clothed skin.

“Round two?” Taylor said when Jason took a second to look at him. Jason rested his forehead on Taylor’s closing his eyes and concentrating on his own heartbeat.

“I want to do this slowly,” Jason said, dodging Taylor’s lips with a playful smile.

“What do you mean?” Taylor replied. He looked a little confused, which made him look even more adorable, as far as Jason was concerned.

Jason kissed the tip of Taylor’s nose and exhaled. “Look,” he said, “every time we’ve been together, it’s been because there’s this spark between us. Neither one of us can deny that there’s something about us, when we’re together, that is magnificent. Right?”

“Right,” Taylor replied, swallowing. “And that’s why we should —”

“Take it slow,” Jason said, kissing him on the mouth again, his lips lingering on Taylor’s. “Because this spark, this thing between us, I feel like it makes us frantic. And that’s okay, but I want to take my time with you. I want to show you how much I appreciate you, how much I want all of you. How much I love that you’re here with me. I can worship every part of you, kiss every part of you that needs to be kissed. Teach you how to get things that you never even knew you wanted.”

Taylor moaned. “I don’t know how,” he replied. “You’re going to make me cum just from talking.”

“No, I’m not,” Jason said, burying his face in the crook of Taylor’s neck and nibbling on it softly. “I could, but I won’t. Do you want me?”

“Yes,” Taylor replied, swallowed. Jason could feel Taylor’s body shuddering under him. “I want you so much.”

Jason kissed his neck until Taylor’s breathing had quickened even more, still running his hands over his chest. He was moving a little, just enough so that he could feel Taylor’s cock twitch under his own, even though they were both wearing clothes.

“You like this,” Jason said, chuckling and shaking his head.

“You like it too,” Taylor replied. “I can feel it. I can feel you.”

“Of course you can feel me, Taylor, you’re so fucking sexy,” Jason replied, going in for another one of those mind-blowing life-altering kisses. He moved his hips back and forth slightly, looking right at Taylor as he did so, watching a huge amount of pleasurable expressions cross his face.

“Take this off,” Taylor said, grabbing the sides of Jason’s shirt and yanking it off of him. Taylor wrapped his arms around Jason’s back and Jason leaned in, getting even closer to him. Taylor always smelled amazing. Jason wanted the way that Taylor smelled him to envelop him, just like the rest of him had. Taylor threw his shirt somewhere on the floor and Jason endeavored himself with tak
ing off Taylor’s own shirt. He left little marks on Taylor’s skin as he traced lines into it with the tips of his fingers, eliciting grateful and impatient moans from Taylor.

He leaned down to kiss Taylor’s neck, planting kisses on his chest along the way, sucking and nibbling on Taylor’s skin, stopping by his nipples to give them a little extra attention. By the time that he had leaned down and he was kissing Taylor’s stomach, he could barely keep from moaning himself.

He dropped down to the floor so that he was on his knees in front of Taylor and started to undo his pants. Taylor didn’t help, mostly because he appeared too overwhelmed by the kisses that Jason had just given him. He was holding on to the sofa with both hands, his fingers digging into the fabric of the cushions. He slid Taylor’s jeans off of him and then took a second to admire the view.

Taylor was wearing a pair of black boxers. Jason could see the outline of his erection through the fabric, his cock seemingly as eager and ready as Jason’s was. Once he finally managed to take Taylor’s jeans off — it was a little tricky with no help, but Jason was loving the unlimited access to the inside of Taylor’s legs — he kissed all the way up from his ankles until he was kissing Taylor’s inner thigh and Taylor was writhing under his touch.

“God, you’re so beautiful,” Jason said, more to him than to Taylor. But Taylor seemed to hear him and Jason’s words got a beautiful, small groan out of him. Jason sighed, grabbing Taylor’s underwear by the waistband and unceremoniously yanking them off. He had tried to restrain himself from going too fast, but he had held off long enough. Taylor was gorgeous, so gorgeous that Jason could hardly stop himself from just sitting on his cock right then and there.

Instead, he grabbed Taylor’s incredible uncut cock and swirled his mouth around the tip. He slid his tongue up and down the underside of Taylor’s sizable erection several times before he wasn’t able to stop himself anymore and he wrapped his lips around Taylor’s twitching dick.
