Deadsville

“So everything is back to normal?” Nica asked, withdrawing slightly, looking down the street at a group of deadies playing strip pinochle in the middle of the cobblestones. One deadie was down to black socks and a pair of boxers with JUICY! emblazoned across the butt. Another group of deadies played an advanced game of kick the can, except they were kicking what looked like a hand grenade across the street. In the distance someone was calling that they had twenty cans of Pringles for trade. Someone else screamed, “POTATO CHIPS! O.M.G.!!! TATO CHIPS! TATO CHIPS! TATO CHIPS!”

Tavie reached up and grasped Nica’s hand. “Oh, hell, no, nothing is ever normal in Deadsville.”

  Acknowledgements

One must always nod their heads to the people who really helped with the novel. One really must.

Thanks to Mary E. Bates, freelance proofreader of ebooks, printed material, and websites. Contact her at mbates16@columbus.rr.com. Also I’m the author who needs two editors, so thanks to Lauran Strait who also makes sure I’m all where I need to be.

Thanks abounding to the beta reading crew, who did a tremendous job of helping me out. Included in that group are Amy Broderick, Valorie Clifton, Wendy D’Ottavio, Suzanne Gossett, Brynn D. Shipp, and Sara Smolarek,

The cover is by Ronnell Porter, who does a tremendous job, and the formatting is The Fiction Works.

Always thanks to my husband, Woody, who has to listen to all kinds of stuff coming out of my mouth when I’m working on a book. Thanks to my daughter, Crescencia, who is justifiably afraid when I put the headphones on. (Not really.)

Finally, a great big thanks goes to all the readers who buy my novels and keep buying my novels, and also keep spreading the word. I couldn’t do this if it wasn’t for you. So thank you, thank you, thank you.

  Sincerely,

  C.L. Bevill
