“Tess!” Layla screamed off the top of her lungs from seeing Tess go over the roof. She hopped up and ran over to the edge of the roof and looked down while sighing in relief seeing that they landed in the backyard pool fighting under water.

“Ugh, ahhh!” Layla screamed while pulling the knife out of the palm of her hand. She ran back to the front of the roof to get her sniper rifle. Layla went back to the edge of the roof where she could have a better view of Tess and Iris fighting hoping that she could get a good shot.

Tess and Iris's fingers were wrapped around each other’s necks trying to choke the life out of one another under water. When Tess could no longer hold her breath, she pushed her finger nails into Iris’s eye. Iris screamed and bubbles came out of her mouth. She poked Tess back in the eyes and released her grip to swim back up to the surface. Iris climbed out of the pool and took off running through the bushes in the backyard towards the cliff with Tess hot on her trail. Iris stopped realizing she had nowhere else to go.

“I see you didn’t learn much from me, bitch. You should always have an escape route,” Tess said.

“Tess hurry! I can’t hold them back much longer. I’m running out of ammo,” Tess could hear Bless shouting over gunfire in the small two-way receiver in her ear.

“I’ll need a little more time,” Tess mumbled with Iris reading her lips.

“Well, it looks like I will live to see another day, unlike your daughter or Vanessa. Hell like anyone else in your life for that matter. You’re going to need more time than you have to kill….,” Iris couldn’t finish her statement from feeling Tess's fist busting open her bottom lip.

Tess sent a left uppercut then a right one to Iris's face. “How could you become everything that we stood against? How could you harm our children?” Tess screamed with each blow as tears streamed down her face.

Iris shook off the dizziness and began to block Tess’s blows. She did a spinning round house kick knocking Tess in the head. “If you would have loved me the right way, we could have avoided all of this. Noo! I had to deal with you jumping out of your sleep screaming Bless’s name. The man that had been gone for five years and all you could think about was his dick. What about me, huh? I didn’t eat your pussy, right? I didn’t satisfy you, bitch? What about loving me and only me?” Iris yelled while sending kicks to Tess's chest and stomach.

Layla adjusted her scope aiming looking for the perfect shot, but there wasn’t one. Iris knew that she was up there and made sure to stay perfectly close to Tess so there would be no way for Layla to shoot her without shooting Tess.

Bless tossed his MP5 submachine gun to the ground once he heard a clicking sound. “Get him! Come on!” he heard the Santiago Cartel soldiers scream in Spanish. He removed his twin desert eagles from his shoulder holster and fired at the soldiers running towards him. As the bullets entered their bodies, Bless continued to back pedal while seeing more coming towards him shooting rapid fire. He ran and jumped over the couch causing bullets to slam into the back of his body armor as four of the Cartel soldiers entered the house. He popped up from behind the couch squeezing the trigger twice blowing heads off of two of them, but was met by rapid fire. Bless ran to the back door and out to the backyard. Tess looked back and knew she was out of time. She removed her chain blade whip from the holster on the right side of her thigh and snapped her wrist towards Iris’s neck. Iris pulled out her knife and smacked the blade away.

“Nice try, wifey, but you’re going to have to do better than that,” Iris said.

“You’re absolutely right about that,” Tess responded. What she did next was completely off guard. Tess flicked her wrist and the chain blade whip wrapped around her and Iris’s waist pulling them together making them unable to move their hands.

“Wait! What the fuck are you doing, Tess?” Iris asked with a puzzled look on her face.

“I’m ending this. You’ll never be able to hurt anyone that I love again. Layla now!” Tess shouted.

“But I can’t. If I do it, I’ll also hit you,” Layla said in a concerned voice through the receiver.

“You’re fucking crazy! You’d sacrifice your own life just to end mine?” Iris said as she put the pieces together.

“Yes I will. You have already taken what had meant the most to me,” Tess replied.

“Fuck that! I’ll take my chances in the ocean,” Iris said and pulled backwards dragging Tess with her to the edge of the cliff.

Tess planted her feet deep into the ground and struggled back to keep from going over the cliff. “Layla, now baby!” Tess shouted.

“I can’t. I can’t!” Layla replied with tears in her eyes, “How can I kill the woman who saved my life over and over again? You raised me. You’re my mother! I won’t shoot you! I can’t!”

Tess turned around and saw Bless putting up a good fight shooting every Santiago Cartel soldier that came out of the door, but slowly getting over powered and outgunned. “Layla, I love you. Do this for me, please. Do this for Ayoyna. I don’t blame you for her death, but I’ll blame you for not doing this. Please, do it!” Tess said while crying hysterically with tears pouring out of her eyes into her mouth.

Iris continued to pull backwards doing her best to get her and Tess over the cliff out of Layla’s sight.

“Yes mom, I love you. Please, forgive me,” Layla said as her facial expression twisted up in despair. She wiped the tears away and adjusted her scope. She inhaled deeply and squeezed the trigger.

“I love you, my daughter,” Tess mumbled as the armor piercing bullets traveled out of the gun in incredible speed and slammed into the back of her body suit. The bullets traveled through Tess’s heart and came bursting out of the front of her chest and into the chest of Iris ripping through her heart and going through and out of her back. “That’s the problem I did love you and kept you around for too long,” Tess mumbled weakly to Iris as their bodies went over the cliff falling twenty feet into the ocean.

“Nooooo! Nooooo!” Bless screamed as he turned around just as Tess and Iris went over the cliff. He stopped firing at the Santiago Cartel and ran to the edge of the cliff. Bless scanned the ocean for any signs of Tess or movement, but only saw waves crashing into the cliff. He could feel the impact of the bullets hitting his suit in his back and legs, but paid it no mind. He raised one of his desert eagle hand guns to his left temple, “I lost everything. I can’t do this again,” he said to himself and squeezed the trigger. His body dropped lifeless on the edge of the cliff.

“Nooooo!” Layla shouted and jumped off of the roof. She pulled out her twin 9mm handguns while falling and pulled the triggers repeatedly. Bullets crashed into the back of five Santiago Cartel soldier's heads before she landed into the pool. She popped up out of the pool to see about fifteen soldiers in the house and she also noticed the dead Zoe Pound killer that Iris killed when they first arrived. She noticed his book bag and remembered that most of them carried C-4 explosives. Layla aimed at the book bag and squeezed the trigger and ducked back under the water. The explosion blew up all of the Cartel soldiers along with bringing down the whole house. Layla popped her head back out of the water and climbed out of the pool. She ran to the edge of the cliff to Bless’s body and checked his neck for a pulse trying not to stare at the huge hole in his head. “Thank God!” she said out loud after feeling a pulse. She did her best to lift his body after hearing more Santiago Cartel soldiers coming. She leaped off of the cliff with Bless in her arms and they both crashed into the water. Layla began swimming and pulling Bless along with her to the speed boat. She jumped inside and pulled Bless up with her. “Tess! Tess!” she shouted, but could see no sign of her. Layla looked around the ocean and back down at Bless crying hysterically. She slowly started up the speed boat hoping Tess would appear. Once she realized that she would never see her again, she pulled off.

  THE PLEASURE OF PAIN 4:

The Last Teflon Diva: Layla’s Story

Feeling as if her world was over, Layla sat in first class feeli
ng hopeless and lost. “Just one more hour until we land at JFK airport. Please, turn off all electronic devices,” the flight attendant said through the loud speaker.

'I wanted nothing more than to go back to Brooklyn, but not like this, and not by myself,' Layla thought to herself and fought back her tears. “I did as you wished, mommy. I promised, I would bury Ayoyna and Isis’s bodies in Brooklyn,” Layla said looking at a picture of Tess on her phone and could no longer hold back the tears. She buried her face in the palm of her hands and cried like she never did before in her life.

In the cargo bay, where Ayoyna and Isis's bodies were kept, a woman opened up Isis’s casket and stared at her then gently touched her face. “I’m sorry, but you were in the way.”
