Dana’s heart banged so hard that her hand instinctively reached up and pressed against her chest. She watched as Cab rose and came to her and stooped to one knee. Dana looked down at him.

“You once told me that you loved me, and even though you were heavily sedated, I believed you. And so that there are no mistakes, now that you are somber, I will ask you again. Do you love me Dana?”

She looked into his eyes. “Yes… yes I do.”

“And I love you with all my cynical heart. Will you Dana Whalen marry me and allow me the opportunity to make you as happy as I have been this past week, for the rest of our lives?”

He pulled out the ring case, lifting the top, and Dana gasped at the beautiful ring nestle in the silk of the holder.

“I’ll marry you just for that ring alone,” she replied.

“So is that a yes?” Cab asked.

She gazed into Cab’s eyes. “Are you sure this is what you want Cab Howard? Once I agree there will be no turning back, and then you will stuck with me for the rest of your life.”

“Which is all I ask. So Dana Whalen, what will it be?”

Dana threw herself into his arms and knocked him on his back. She lay on top of him with her arms around his neck and her face pressed into the side of his neck. She lifted her head. “Yes Cab I will marry you.”

Cab rolled them to her back. Gently clasping her head in his hands, he kissed her gently at first, but at her moaning the kissing heated up. Before they knew it, they were both naked. They recognized physically that Dana’s body was not ready for actually lovemaking, but they gave heavy petting a new name. Sated both physically and emotionally, Cab lifted his fiancé and carried her to bed and there he held her until they both feel asleep.

Cab lay on his side with his head braced on his hand and gazed down at his sleeping beauty.

“Thank you God for Dana,” he whispered as placed a soft kiss on her head. He decided that he didn’t want to wait to make her his wife, and with that thought in mind, a suddenly grin slowly lit up his face. Kissing her again, he slipped out of the bed.

He needed to speak to his older brother and sister in law. If anyone could pull the plan he had in mind off, it was Duke and Cat.

Unmindful of the time difference, Cab made the call.

“What’s wrong?” Duke shouted into the phone.

“Nothing, I need to talk to you,” Cab said.

“The baby and Dana are fine?”

  “They’re great.”

“Do you realize the time, Cab?”

“No, but I wanted to let you know that I asked Dana to marry me and she accepted,” he announced.

“And this couldn’t wait until the sun came up in Philadelphia!” He shouted into the phone.

Cab laughed. “Sorry about that, but if you want to see your brother get married, be in LA in five days.”

“What?” Duke yelled in the phone.

Cab laughed. He heard Cat in the background asking Duke what fool has him shouting in the middle of the night. Duke quickly told his wife what was going on.

“Give me that phone!” Cab heard Cat order.

“Why can’t you do things like everyone else and have a wedding in about six month? Give us a chance to make plans!”

“Because Sis, I love Dana and I want her to be my wife now. So if you want to see us get married, have the family here in five days. I’ll take care of the arrangements; all you have to do is show up.”

“Does Dana agree with this?” Cat asked.

“I don’t know, but I’m sure she will go along with it. Just be there.”

“I think Cab has lost his mind,” he heard her tell Duke before hanging up.

He slipped into bed and pulled Dana into his arms. He had to find a wedding planner that could do exactly as he instructed in five days, he thought as his eyes drifted shut.

“Cab, have you lost your mind?” Dana shouted while sitting at the breakfast table. “Look, I love you and I want to marry you, but we cannot plan a wedding in week! What about your family? And Dell? He would kill me if I got married and he wasn’t here to attend!” Dana sounded a little panicked.

“Don’t worry. Look, all you have to do is pick out your dress and meet me at the chapel. I was thinking Raini and Diz could stand up with us…”

“Cab! Cab! Cab!” She shouted, interrupting him.

“Sunshine, I don’t want to wait another day without you and Cabri having my name officially.

Dana stared at this man long and hard, and suspected that his mind was gone. She appreciated his impatience to make her his wife, but no one can pull a wedding together in just a week. Then again, he was very passionate about this, so how could she tell him no?

Dana rose from the table, moved to sit on his lap, and tenderly kissed him on his mouth.

“Baby, if you want to get married in a week, then a week it shall be.”

Cab’s bronzed gaze darkened as he caressed her face, right before he took her mouth in a heated kiss.

  Epilogue

A day after Cab had made his intention clear to his family, the company plane was landing at LAX. After a family meeting at the Bel Air Mansion, the planning of the wedding was placed into the capable hands of Dana, Cat, and Zoey, along with the help of Raini who everyone liked very much. One brother in particular was very interested in Raini, but due to her shyness, he didn’t know how to approach her, so he kept his interest to himself… for now at least. His day would come when he would make his move and she wasn’t going to know what hit her. Two days before the wedding Dell arrived, and immediately after seeing his future brother-in-law, he started lecturing Cab on how to take care of his baby sister, and threatening him with bodily harm if he didn’t. Cab’s brothers laughed, with Yaz laughing the loudest, asking Cab how did it feel to have the shoe on the other foot. Every one of Cab’s siblings could not get over the new less tense Cab, and they would group together just to stare at him. He was happy and in love and it showed all over his entire being.

A week later, Cabel Howard married Dana Whalen in an evening wedding that was elegant, intimate, and small with just family and a few business associates.

Dana gazed down at the diamond and sapphire wedding band that twinkled on her finger. She never thought that she could ever be this happy. The NICU doctors reported that Cabri was getting stronger and could possibly be home within a month, she was married to the beautiful man lying beside her, and after a long heated discussion, she even agreed to move to the east coast with her husband when it was safe for Cabri to travel. Dell was sorry that he was losing his sister as CFO of the LA branch, but he knew that her place was with her new family.

Dana glanced at her now sleeping husband, who had her body still tingling from the many times that they had made love throughout the night. He was as hot and extremely talented as she remembered, and she lost count of how many orgasms he brought her to last night. Trust and believe though, that she gave as good as she got.

His eyes opened. “Morning Sunshine,” he greeted with a grin.

“Morning Beautiful,” she returned, before rolling on top of him. She felt his hand caressing her bare bottom, and she smiled down at him, instantly heated up just by his touch.

He leaned up and kissed her. “This cynical heart needs some reassurance and healing,” he said against her lips.

“Really? And just how much reassurance and healing are we talking about?” She asked, kissing him along his jawline.

“A whole lot,” he answered, flipping her to her back and commencing to ravage her body.

  Author Note:

I thank all who have enjoyed my stories. I want to apologize for the delay in the continuation of the Heart Series. I had to take off my storytelling hat and return to reality for a while and I’m thrill to have it back on. Thank you for your reviews no matter what they are because they are all appreciated.

  Thanks again
