The Change-Up

Page 22

by Syd Parker

Bellamy eyes were fixated on Sawyer’s lean body. She was an enticing mixture of hard and feminine in one flawless specimen. “You’re beautiful.” She held her hand toward Sawyer invitingly. “Please.”

Sawyer let herself be pulled onto the bed. Her body settled over Bellamy’s, reveling in the feel of their skin pressed against each another. Her lips sought Bellamy’s, seeking, plundering, possessing.

Bellamy spread her legs, feeling Sawyer’s weight settle against her. Sawyer’s abdomen pressed against her clit and she moved against her, trying to assuage the need pulsing between her legs. She deepened the kiss, telegraphing her need.

Sawyer felt the change immediately, and her heart skipped a beat. Months of longing culminated in a searing fire that tore through her soul. She broke the kiss and moved down Bellamy’s body, her mouth finding Bellamy’s nipple once more. She pulled the bud into her mouth, flicking, nipping, sucking, until it was so hard, she knew that Bellamy’s body was ready. She resisted the urge to move lower, instead sucking Bellamy’s other nipple into her mouth, teasing her incessantly.

Bellamy’s body arched off the bed, the need to feel Sawyer inside her removing any last inhibitions. She put her hands on Sawyer’s shoulders and pushed against her. “I need you inside me, Sawyer.”

Sawyer’s stomach rolled excitedly. She began to kiss Bellamy’s stomach, sliding lower until her kisses teased at the vee of dark hair. She paused, resting her head in the valley of her hip, memorizing Bellamy’s scent.

Bellamy’s heart tripped in her chest. This was nothing like the frantic sexual encounters she’d had in the past. Everything with Sawyer was about Bellamy, making her feel like she was the most important thing in the world. Bellamy’s body responded to the clutch in her heart, and she moved against Sawyer. Her core ached to be touched. “Sawyer, please.”

Sawyer smiled against Bellamy’s hip. In all the time they’d known each other, Bellamy’s ‘please’ had been her undoing. She pushed Bellamy’s legs apart and drank in the sight of her beautiful body, her lips glistening with moisture. She bowed her head and dipped her tongue into Bellamy’s wet center.

“Oh, God.” Bellamy’s hips bucked off the bed at the feeling of Sawyer inside her, capturing her, claiming her, devastating her. Months of tension pooled between her legs, and her clit begged to be touched.

The feeling of pushing Bellamy over the edge gripped Sawyer, as if flames consuming her body. She pushed her tongue deeper inside Bellamy, trying to become one with her. She could feel Bellamy’s body pulsing around her, as she drank in every bit that Bellamy offered, pushing her to the edge and pulling back, teasing, prolonging, torturing her. Sawyer ran her tongue along the folds of Bellamy’s skin and pulled her clit into her mouth, holding it for several beats before her tongue started to swirl around it. She slid her fingers inside Bellamy’s body, waiting for her to open fully, then withdrew them and pushed more deeply inside her. She heard Bellamy’s moans of pleasure and continued the slow, rhythmic lovemaking.

Bellamy’s body trembled with an overwhelming need for release. She moved her hips in time with Sawyer’s hand, increasing the pressure on her clit, desperately seeking climax. She pressed her legs against Sawyer’s head, trying to pull her inside.

Sawyer sensed the shift in Bellamy’s body, and she pushed further inside. She felt Bellamy’s body tense. She sucked Bellamy’s clit further inside her mouth and flicked her tongue in quick circles.

Seconds later, Bellamy’s body clinched, and her hips jerked off the bed. “Fuck.” Bellamy tried to pull away, the sensation of coming so hard almost too much to take, but Sawyer grabbed her arms and held her in place, her tongue teasing every last sensation out of her. She felt herself come once, relax, then Sawyer pushed her to another climax, this one setting her body and her soul on fire. She gripped the sheets, trying to find an anchor to hold onto. She bit her lips, trying to contain the animal inside, but soon, it was more than she could handle. She opened her mouth and let out a scream so primal it took her breath away. Bellamy’s body finally gave over control, and she fell to the bed exhausted.

Sawyer pulled away and crawled up beside Bellamy, trailing kisses along her bare skin. She searched Bellamy’s face, surprised to see a single tear fall down her cheek. “Are you okay?”

Bellamy nodded and swiped the tear from her cheek. “More than okay. I had no idea.”

“Nothing can prepare you for the first time you make love with a woman, and after, there is no adequate way to describe it.” Sawyer laid her cheek on Bellamy’s shoulder and wrapped her arm over her waist. Her heart pounded in her ears. Her own body was still a tense ball of muscles, like a wild animal ready to pounce.

“I…I. Thank you, Sawyer. No one has ever made love to me that way.” Bellamy was full of nervous energy. She swirled her fingers around Sawyer’s arm in figure eights. “What about you?”

“What about me?” Sawyer tilted her head and kissed Bellamy’s chin. “I’m better than I’ve ever been.”

“Sawyer?” Bellamy paused, unsure for the first time today. She didn’t know how this all worked. She wanted to touch Sawyer, but she wasn’t sure how to tell her.

  “Yes, darling?”

  “I…can I? Can I touch you?”

Sawyer’s heart swelled in her chest. She grabbed Bellamy’s hand and kissed her palm before pulling it between her legs. She placed Bellamy’s palm against her center and held her own hand over Bellamy’s.

Bellamy moved slowly at first, rubbing her fingers through Sawyer’s hair.

Sawyer moved to her back. She took several deep breaths, calming herself. Bellamy’s fingers were torturing her with aching slowness.

Bellamy’s gaze locked on her fingers as she moved them lower, spreading Sawyer’s lips. She touched Sawyer’s clit, licking her lips when she saw it jump at her touch. She slid her fingers lower, immediately feeling Sawyer’s juices coat her hand. She closed her eyes and pushed inside Sawyer’s body. Sawyer was so wet her fingers moved with no effort. Bellamy swallowed the catch in her throat, overwhelmed at feeling Sawyer for the first time. It was the same, but so different, from touching herself. “Oh, God. So good.”

Sawyer’s body trembled beneath her hand. Her clit pulsed, and she fought the urge to touch herself, knowing that Bellamy needed to set the pace her first time. When Bellamy rubbed her thumb against her clit, Sawyer thought she might die.

Bellamy welcomed the new-found power she held in her hands. Making love to a woman was indescribable. Making love to Sawyer was magic. She moved her fingers inside Sawyer as her thumb moved faster over Sawyer’s clit. She could feel it harden. She sensed when Sawyer was close and she leaned over, capturing Sawyer’s mouth against hers as she brought her to orgasm. When Bellamy felt Sawyer relax, she broke the kiss and smiled dreamily. “I love you.”

Sawyer returned the smile. She pulled Bellamy’s hand up and kissed it, tasting herself on Bellamy’s fingers. “I love you, Bell.”

“I was never complete before you. You gave me heaven today.”

“I will give you that for as long as we are alive.”

Bellamy frowned. “I wasted so much time. Time we could have had together.”

“You came to me when you were ready. You wouldn’t have stayed before, and that would have killed me. I want forever. I don’t dwell on what is behind us and what we could have had. I look at all the tomorrows we have together.”

Bellamy kissed Sawyer again, her heart melting even more. “I’d like to make this a part of all our tomorrows.”

Sawyer grinned wickedly. “Give me a few minutes. Reckon we can get a head start on tomorrow.”

Bellamy’s body shivered at the thought of Sawyer inside her again, and getting to taste Sawyer for the first time. The second thought won out. She moved her body over Sawyer’s and straddled her, rubbing her juices over Sawyer’s stomach. Hunger flashed in her eyes. “Not if I beat you to it.” She chuckled at the shocked expression on Sawyer’s face as she leaned over and k
issed Sawyer with a newfound intensity. Yes, she thought, this was the perfect way to start a lifetime of tomorrows.

  Epilogue

  February 2016

“Starting pitcher for the Statesmen, Kevin Carter.” The announcer drew out Kevin’s last name, enunciating both syllables, as any good commentator would do. Kevin hid his face behind his glove and smiled. He rubbed his side subconsciously. It had been a year since the surgery. He felt like himself again. All the weight that came off with the illness was back, with an additional twenty pounds of muscle. He flicked his eyes to his coach and nodded a silent thank you for all she’d done. He knew that he probably wouldn’t be here today, if not for her.

His eyes found his mom, before sliding sideways to his grandfather. A year could change a lot, and the last one was no exception. Somewhere along the journey, his mother had taken Sawyer’s advice and reached out to her father. The first few months were rough, as his granddad wasn’t sure of his footing with them. Kevin didn’t want to say he got sick for a reason, but as Sawyer liked to remind them, you had to look for the gift in every situation. Their gift together was his family, Sawyer included. His mother’s gift was freedom. Freedom to be who she was and to love whomever she wanted. Kevin’s granddad wasn’t too thrilled with the idea at first, but somehow Sawyer had managed to grow on him. Their shared love of his daughter and grandson gave them a place to start.

His eyes flicked to his coach again. His fingers found his side once more, imagining he could feel the scar beneath his uniform. There were times it bothered him, but the brief periods of tenderness paled in comparison to having his life back. Sawyer winked, as if to say this is your day. You can do this. And he knew he could.

  “Play ball!”

Kevin toed the rubber on the mound, brushing off the first three signals from his catcher. He finally nodded, his fingers already in place. He raised his hands to his chest and stilled his body. He held his breath nervously. One, two, three beats. Kevin raised his leg then hurled his hand toward the plate, flicking his wrist at release. His breath left his lungs as the ball hurtled toward the plate. His eyes followed the ball as it hung in midair then plummeted past the batter. This was his pitch, and this was his life, and he owed them both to his coach.

  “Stee-rike one!”

  Kevin Jordan’s Story

The idea for this book was born on a cold winter afternoon in 2013. ESPN was airing a special report about Wake Forest player, Kevin Jordan, who was diagnosed with ANCA vasculitis in 2010. The disease attacked Kevin’s kidneys, leading to almost total lack of function and ultimately, kidney failure. None of Kevin’s family were a match as potential living donors. Kevin was placed on the National Donor Registry, with no guarantee a match would be found in time to save his life.

In the winter of 2010/2011, Kevin’s health hit a low point, and he decided to leave school to undergo more aggressive treatment than he could receive at Wake Forest. It was then that his coach, Tom Walter, did something amazing. He offered to get tested. He was a match. In February, 2011, Coach Walter donated a kidney to Kevin. Kevin came back to Wake Forest that fall. He is now in his senior year, looking to lead the Demon Deacons to an NCAA tournament for the first time since 2009.

I was amazed at the heart-warming story, as it reminded me that there truly is good in the world. Sometimes, we don’t have to look very far to find it.
