Forgotten Truth (The Forgotten Series Book 1)

“Would you like a glass of champagne?” Nathan asks.
“It’s barely noon,” I say.
“Close enough. I plan to make this a special weekend, Bryer, and you’re kind of cute when you have a few drinks in you.” He laughs.
“What? I am not!”
“Oh, you most certainly are.”
“I’ll have to remember that.”
“Nothing for us, right now.” he tells the flight attendant.
He holds my hand then plays with my hair, twirling a curl around his finger. “You’re so sexy it should be illegal,” he whispers in my ear. I lean into him during the flight, like we are the only two on the plane.
“When do we land?’ I ask.
“Soon. Are you anxious?”
“I am.”
“Good to know.” He beams.
“Here we are.”
A driver with a sign waits by the luggage carousel. Seriously? We have a driver? I usually take a crowded shuttle.
“This is us.” Nathan nods in the driver’s direction. If his intention is to impress me, it’s working.
The driver takes our bags and we’re lead to a black limo. Nathan opens the door and guides me in first.
“Your ride awaits.” He smiles that killer smile and I want to lick his dimples.
I slide in and he follows me. While the driver puts our bags in the trunk, Nathan presses the privacy glass button and up it goes. Harry Connick Jr. plays softly in the background.
“Just setting the mood.”
The lighting fades. They have dimmers in limos?
“Sitting next to you these last couple of hours and not being able to touch you was pure torture. I’m making up for lost time.” He nuzzles my neck.
Before I’ve adjusted to the new surroundings, Nathan is on me faster than I can catch my breath. He slams his mouth on mine, delivering a searing kiss, and I naturally lean back. I feel his erection pressing against me and he rubs his body across mine. His assault is pure erotic passion and it doesn’t take long to catch up.
“Fuck,” he says.
“Mmmhmm.”
He looks into my eyes. “Bryer, I touch you only a fraction of how much I want to.”
“I’m listening.” I smile.
Though his gray slacks, which have suddenly become very tight, I rub my hand against his hard length. “Interesting situation.”
“Bryer,” he whispers against my neck. His hot breath fans across my skin as his tongue works its way down my neck.
He grabs my hand and stops me.
“Wait.” Nathan breathes in my hair.
“What? Why?” I say. “You’re so fucking hot. I’ll never make it to the room.” His breathing is fast and hard.
“It’ll be over before we’ve started. I’ll wait till I get you into bed.”
“Yes. Bed.” I whisper, rendered almost speechless. “You started it.” We sit upright and he smiles, but keeps his eyes straight ahead.
Chapter Eight
“THIS PLACE IS beautiful. Very modern, and classy,” I say as we check in.
With luggage in tow, we head to the top floor. His card waves over the sensor, and once the green light is lit, he pushes the door open but lets me walk in first.
“This is stunning, Nathan! Oh my God, look at the floor to ceiling windows. That view is spectacular.”
He stands in the doorway just watching me, a half smile on his face.
“I love it. It’s huge! The penthouse suite, huh?” I ask like an excited child.
“Yes.”
“Why? A regular room would have been fine.”
“Because it wasn’t enough.”
“It’s too much, Nathan.” While I’m excited to be here, I also feel guilty over how much trouble he went to for my business trip. Not to mention the cost.
“It’s not. It’s just enough, and I told you I would make this memorable.”
I walk over and press my body to his and run my hands up his white, button down shirt, feeling every hard muscle.
“Worth every penny” he says.
“Show off, now kiss me.” I pull him closer. Our hips touch and my breasts press against his chest.
“I want to run my hands through your hair constantly. It’s hard to control myself.” He laughs at me, but I’m totally serious.
“Then don’t.”
He remains still and allows me to take charge, briefly. I bring his head down to meet my lips, and just before they touch, I whisper, “Thank you.” He slowly moves in when I take my tongue and run it over his lip. I hear a moan, but I’m not sure who uttered it.
“What do you want, Bryer?”
“I want it all.”
Within seconds, the embrace is solid. He comes crashing down on my awaiting mouth. He grinds into me with his hips and presses hard against me. My body responds in every way. Will this be it? Our first time?
My head spins and my breath grows harsher. How have I lasted so long?
“Not yet, baby.” Reading my mind, he pulls away. I moan in protest. “Soon,” is all he says. A few more hours won’t kill me, but I pout.
***
“YES, SEVEN O’ CLOCK sharp.” He commands into the phone, ordering room service. I get butterflies listening to his take charge style. I wonder if this dominance will make another appearance later.
“Dinner will arrive at seven, which leaves us a couple hours to relax and unpack,” he tells me as he walks closer.
God, this man has swagger. He oozes confidence. I’m swept away by his woodsy scent as he draws nearer. That musky smell calls my name.
“If you hurry and unpack, we may just have time to bathe before dinner,” he says.
“A bath? Together?”
“Yes. Would you prefer alone?”
“Ah, no, of course not.” I stumble over the rug.
I knew it was a matter of time, and the time has come. God, it’s been so long. Have I forgotten how?
This is not how I envisioned our first time. I notice he looks quite amused by my reaction. He leans in and his hot breath tickles my ear. “Baby, you’re wasting time. Unpack.” He’s so smooth, yet powerful, how can something so simple be so damn sexy?
“I’ll unpack.” I give him a thumbs up and cringe at my lame move. Oh, I’ve got game! I smile way too big to be perceived as cool or sexy.
Oh God, awkward. STOP IT.
Ten minutes later my bags are unpacked, work clothes hung up, and a beautiful white nightgown I’ve been saving is hung on the back of the bathroom door.
I must find my inner goddess. Approaching slowly, I focus on my target. He’s going through the drawers organizing his things in a very precise manor. He feels me closing in and turns his head and smiles. His gaze takes me in slowly from head to toe.
“Bryer, you’re mine all night.” He reaches out for my hand.
“Nathan,” I say so quietly, suddenly bashful. I’m not entirely sure if he heard me.
“It’s okay. We’ll go slow.”
He pulls me into the bathroom and leans over to adjust the water in the large rectangular tub. The faucet is in the middle, allowing each person the luxury of leaning back comfortably.
“Look at this bathroom. Every girls dream.” I sigh.
“And you, baby, are every man’s dream.” He looks at me with hungry eyes as I start to undress. “Perhaps I can be of assistance.” Nathan removes my hands and kisses me gently as he unbuttons my blouse.
I watch his reaction while he enjoys the task. Once the blouse hangs open, he gently slides it down my arms and kisses my shoulder.
“God, you smell so sexy, Bryer,” he whispers as my blouse falls to the floor.
He unbuttons my jeans and slowly unzips them. I watch him watching me, and heat and passion crash into each other. He slides my jeans down over my hips and he kneels to take them off.
A desperate need grows between my thighs.
“Talk to me” he says while playing with my black lace underwear.
“Yo
u can have me any way you want.” I can’t control the quiver my body is consumed with, I want him desperately.
Smiling, he slides my panties down my legs. “I want you.”
Nathan stands and his lips glide over mine for only a sweet second. He takes my bra off with one quick flick. My breasts tumble from their confines and I watch him staring at me. My breasts are plentiful, and he reaches for them with both hands.
“Holy fuck.” He looks at me hungrily. If he only knew what his words did to me. Heat rushes to my face and spreads to every nerve in my body.
Putting a nipple in his mouth, he starts to suck lightly on one then kisses the other. My breath quickens and I moan out loud.
“Feel that, baby? Does that get you wet?”
“I’m a little hazy at the moment.” Although dazed, I notice he has all of his clothes on. “You’re dressed. We need to rectify this.”
He starts with his shirt then quickly maneuvers out of his pants. Within seconds, I’m looking at a god. His body is perfection. A sculpted eight pack. His chest is hard, I see the patch of chest hair lightly covering his impressive muscles, and my desire to touch it is overwhelming. So I do.
“Nathan, you’re a masterpiece.”
I glance down at his thick, hard shaft and know this will be an evening to remember. “You. Don’t. Disappoint.”
“Why, thank you.” He touches my hair and twirls it. “But I won’t fuck you here.” I look up. “I’ll take you in our bed.”
Jesus H. Christ.
I’m distracted by the tattoo that has been hiding under his clothes. It’s not what I would have expected. It’s a pair of hands praying over a wooden cross, and above that there are words. I reach up to trace them and read in a whisper while he stares at me. “Life is not forever. Love.” Beneath that, dates are written, and I assume these are his mother’s birth and death. Compassion is the only exchange between us, in this moment.
He takes my hand and I step in the tub. “Oh, the water is still very warm.”
“Yes, they have heated tubs, so it doesn’t cool down, ever.”
I sit at one end and watch this Adonis climb in and sit opposite me. As he does, I take in every succulent inch of his body.
My breasts are barely covered, and Nathan’s attention only fuels my need more.
“God, you’re beautiful,” he says. “And sexy as fuck. You make me want so much.”
“I hope we want the same things, Nathan.” I feel an ache as I look at him.
As we sink down, he grabs my foot and lifts it out of the water. It rests on his thigh and he begins to massage it.
I moan. “That feels amazing. Do you offer a full body version?’
“Only on request.” No wonder he’s every woman’s wet dream. “Whatever turns you on, Bryer.” Even my name on his lips is filled with sex.
“I’ll start making a list.”
“You ain’t seen nothin’ yet, baby.” I like playful Nathan.
I want this man, and if I want to keep him, I have to be bold. I have to let my guard down and be the woman I know I can be.
“Nathan, let me touch you.”
I slowly make my way over. Now on my knees between his legs, I slightly spread mine. His eyes move to my swaying breasts.
“You’re perfect,” I say, looking into his eyes.
“Me, perfect? No. A sex god? Yes.” He teases.
I find his hard shaft and wrap my hand around it then move it up and down, keeping a laser focus on him as I do so. My lips cover the tip of his penis that’s exposed above the water, and my tongue circles his enlarged head.
“Oh fuck,” he cries out.
I must be doing something right.
His head flies back. “Bryer, you feel so good.”
I take that as encouragement and slide my mouth down his cock, going as far as I can till I hit water. I continue this for just a few strokes before he lifts himself so I have the option to take it all. His entire cock is so big I can’t take all of him, so instead I suck hard, which apparently still gives him pleasure.
“You look so damn sexy while I fuck your mouth.”
His words make me wet between my legs, and they drive me to move faster.
“You make me so hard,” he groans, and trembles as his muscle tighten.
My breasts skim his legs as my head bobs up and down. His hands find my nipples and he lightly pinches them. I’m completely turned on just by pleasuring him. His pleasure has become my pleasure.
My mouth rides his cock until my jaw is shaking. I wonder how long he can last. I love feeling this power over him. That it’s me that’s giving him this sweet torture.
“Oh hell, Bryer. This is so fucking good. You have to stop, or I’m going to come,” he moans.
I continue the assault on his cock, giving it my best effort. His hands grip my hair hard.
“Oh baby. I feel you. I’m gonna come. You’re so sexy with your lips wrapped around my cock.” He cries out as he thrusts deep into my throat, moaning my name loudly as he comes. “Jesus, Bryer. You’re very good at that.” His breath still unsteady.
“Am I?” I smile, knowing I want to do that all over again.
“In a very good way.”
He washes my hair. He’s slow and methodical but also sexy and intense. Then he allows me the same honor. It connects us, and I feel protected, safe, when he’s close. I’m terrified I’ll never want to let him go.
Nathan stands and reaches for a towel. “Come, baby.” He holds his hand out for mine.
I stand and he wraps me in the heated softness.
“Hmm…warm.” The comforting heat makes me moan, and I admire the view as he wraps a towel around his waist.
“Let me find something comfortable to put on before our food arrives,” he says. “I’ll give you a few minutes.”
I brashly reach up and kiss him hard, fully aware of where my mouth was just moments ago. He doesn’t hesitate and meets my tongue with passion. Then he leaves me to finish with my girly tasks. I towel dry my hair, knowing it will just curl.
Then I reach for my white gown. I got this as a sample from work. One of the reasons I love my job. It was mine the minute I saw it. It’s white silk with spaghetti straps. A low v-neck shows too much cleavage to go unnoticed. But my favorite part is the two-foot train that flows behind me. I feel like a princess when I walk and it follows. I slide it over my body in one fluid motion, and when I looked in the mirror, I feel beautiful.
Air catches the train and lifts it as I slowly walk barefoot down the long hallway. I enter the open living area where I see Nathan by our dinner cart, lighting a candle. His eyes meet mine and take a slow tour down my body then back up again. He doesn’t notice the lit match burning out.
“Oh hell,” he mutters as he drops the match and shakes his hand. I find humor in his clumsiness. It proves this god–like creature is human after all.
“Bryer,” he draws out my name. “You look like a goddess.” I smile and lower my head. “Come here, baby.” He motions with his finger. “You’re exquisite in that gown.”
As I meet him at the table, my eyes reach his. “Thank you.”
“You will be quite the distraction during dinner.” His eyes travel up and down slowly and he grins. “That gown is elegant, and so sheer I can see through it.”
I smile. “Is it? I was going for Hollywood glam.”
“Well, you achieved it. Now please have a seat while I still have the strength to have dinner with you, and not have you for dinner.”
He holds out my chair and I sit, then I watch him take his seat. Now shirtless, he wears black silk pajama bottoms that hang low on his hips, displaying pure perfection.
“I hope you like lobster, baby.”
“Who doesn’t?”
He lifts the silver lids and the dinner looks like a piece of art.
“Flowers, Nathan? You think of everything.”
“No, actually I don’t. This is a rare occurrence. Maybe it’s the company I’m keeping
.” He smiles at me.
“I may be a bit smitten,” I confess. “Your thoughtfulness is impressive.” The yellow roses sit in a vase between us. They are my favorite flower, but there’s no way he could know that.
“I simply thought of you.”
“I’ve never—”
“Never what?”
“I’ve never been treated like this before.”
“Bryer, I’m completely in,” he says, making my heart beat like a kettle drum. “I want to prove it, show you.”
He pours us each a glass of wine, but he drinks water instead. “So tell me what your schedule looks like tomorrow, and what time the after party starts?”
“I’ll leave around seven-thirty in the morning and be at the show by eight. Hopefully I finish by five pm. But the party doesn’t start till seven, so I’ll have time to come back here and change, and we can go together.”
“That sounds perfect. I’m looking forward to having you on my arm tomorrow night.”
“Oh, I’m sure I’ll be beating the women off with a stick with you on my arm.”
He shakes his head in modesty.
“Before I forget, my father asked me to join him for dinner next week. I told him I’d be bringing someone. I was hoping you would join me.”
Several things run through my mind when he asks me this. This seems soon, and meeting his family is a big step.
“Of course, Nathan. It would be an honor,” I say, instead of voicing my concerns.
“I know he’ll love you. I really want you two to meet.”
Love?
“Well, how could I refuse an offer like that? I’d love to go.” I smile at him, feeling anxious about this future meeting, but I keep that to myself.
“That was a lovely dinner, Nathan. Very special,” I say, but before he can reply, my phone rings. “I can’t imagine who’s calling. Sorry. I’ll be a minute.”
“Hello?” I sigh quietly. “Mr. Atkins. Yes, of course I remember. What time will be good for you? I can make that work. A drink? Now?” I wish my brain would think of the perfect thing to say on the fly, but that always comes to me later. “I’m sorry, but I have plans. I’ll definitely see you tomorrow. Yes, I’ll be there too. I agree. It sounds fun. Okay, we’re set. Thank you. Goodbye.” I end the conversation as quick as possible.
