He closed his eyes and took a deep breath to avoid giving in to his anger. Daniel had abandoned these people. He did not know how it actually went down, but he was certain that taking all of their things for his own left them too weak to defend themselves. It was just a guess, but he held fast to that guess. It seemed like something Daniel would do.

“Sharing items is good, but not with a guy like you,” muttered Scott. The bloody giblets on the floor reminded him of the bitter truth of this world. Look out for yourself, or become something’s dinner.

How many people trusted in Daniel because of his uniform and his confident tone? Did they smile at him gratefully while they handed over their meager items?

"Fuck..." muttered Scott. Images of frightened, but hopeful faces crowded his mind. The smug tone in Daniel's voice haunted him, and then enraged him further.

His rage subsided slightly as he thought of Eloa, Brittani, and Harley. Briefly he even thought of the weird mermaid girl, and then of Sheena and Ercke. None of them were human. Interacting with them came at the cost of battle, and nearly cost him his life on most occasions.

Despite their inhuman nature he could not help but think that they were at least upfront about their intentions. None of them promised their people safety, stole their meager hopes from them, and abandoned them to die. They challenged people, and would readily kill them if they could, but none of them seemed to be like Daniel.

Scott stared at the blood drenched floor for quite some time as he tried to understand his own thoughts on the matter. Was helping people continue to live worth it, if human beings were worse than the monsters who hunted them?

Thank you for taking the time to read Earth Tactics Advance: Volume 1. Like all of my stories in Project Scott, this one is a bit of a passion project of mine, though I know it is odd for a LitRPG concept. As something of a pioneer for turn-based LitRPG stories in the genre, I hope that you enjoyed this book. I do believe there are at least a few other stories in existence that have something resembling the turn-based concept, but the ones that I can think of off-hand are more strategic war game style entries.

Given the general oddities involved in the creation of a turn-based tactical survival horror dating simulation novel... your reviews, and word-of-mouth are really important. If turn-based themed LitRPG is going to become popular not only must people write such stories, but they need to be entertaining enough to discuss!

If this story proved entertaining, please let others know about it. If you feel the concept simply does not work as a novelization, then please speak your mind as well. It is the only way that I will learn.

  Thank you for reading!

  About the Author

Scottie Futch is a goofy sort of fellow who enjoys parodies, anime, pop-culture, zombies, and various lewd images of innocent videogame heroines who are no doubt far better portrayed by their source material than any parody he might create.

  He also likes cake.

I'm telling you, this guy really loves his cake. It's almost a mental health disease at this point. If you're religious, pray for him. If not, ask the flying spaghetti monster to pay back the money that he borrowed. The author knows where that fool lives. He can't dodge true justice forever!

May his sauce be forever saucy...
