Loving You: Mpreg Romance (My One-Night Stand Series Book 2)

“Where the fuck, have you been? Do you know how worried I’ve been?”
Ethan snapped his eyes open and lifted his head to see Sean standing at the entrance to his kitchen with his arms folded over his chest.
“What the hell are you doing in my house?” he demanded, getting off the couch. “How long have you been here?”
“Stupid question, Ethan, I have my own key. Remember, me, your fiancé, the man you plan on spending the rest of your life with.” Then he shrugged his shoulders. “Plus, I’ve been here for a couple of days.”
Ethan walked up to Sean and stretched his hand out. While he was gone, the thought of changing the locks never occurred to him, he’d completely forgotten that Sean had keys to his house.
“I told you it was over, Sean. What do I have to do or say to convince you of that fact? Now give me back my damn keys and get the hell out of my house.”
“Come on, Ethan, we need to talk,” Sean stated, ignoring Ethan's demand. “We can’t just leave it like that.”
Ethan shook his head. “No, we don’t. What more is there for me to say? You cheated; I caught you, so I walked,” he stated plainly. “There’s nothing to talk about.” Shrugging his shoulders, he hoped Sean would drop the subject and leave. It seemed as if he wouldn’t have the amicable break up, he was hoping for, but he was still praying that Sean would leave with as little drama as possible.
Sean looked away, and Ethan saw something he could not describe quickly flash in his eyes. He wasn’t sure if it was regret or hurt, but right at that moment Ethan didn't care. He couldn’t make himself care.
“I’m sorry ok, is that what you want to hear?” Sean turned and apologized, reaching out to touch Ethan’s face. He backed away before Sean could touch him. “I’m sorry, it won’t happen again. Ethan, baby, believe me. I can’t lose you. Not now anyway.” He pleaded.
The expression on Sean’s face was meant to seem sincere, but all Ethan heard were words of lies. He couldn't trust Sean to not cheat on him again. Maybe he valued trust over love in a relationship and that was one of his flaws.
Ethan scoffed, and walked over to his door, holding it open. He hoped that Sean would get the message that they had nothing to talk about and leave.
“You’ve already lost me. I don’t understand what you don’t get, Sean,” he said, running his hands over his short strands. “I wish I could believe you. But you see, I can’t shake this feeling that you have been cheating on me the whole time we have been together. So please, hand over my keys and leave,” he begged.
Sean shook his head. “I’m really trying here, Ethan, give me some damn credit. How can you turn your feelings off so quickly?” he asked. Ethan noticed Sean didn’t deny cheating on him during their relationship. He shook his head in disappointment.
“Turn my feelings off?” Ethan said. “I’m not the one who threw my feelings aside when you were busy…” He was starting to feel as if he kept saying the same thing over and he was getting tired of it. “Look, just leave please.”
“No, I’m not leaving until you hear me out,” Sean argued.
“Are you kidding me?” Ethan yelled. “There is nothing you can say that could convince me that what you did was justified.”
Sean walked over and stood in front of him. Ethan was only a few inches taller than his ex and had less prominent muscles. Sean’s brunet hair was slicked back with enough gel to keep it in place, he wore a black T-shirt and black jeans with wide leather wristbands on both wrists. It was a look that Ethan once found sexy and arousing, except he felt nothing but disgust that he had even been attracted to the bastard in the first place.
Sean reached around Ethan closing the door, then pulled him into a kiss that would have once made Ethan’s toes curl. Sean’s kisses had used to leave him weak at the knees and begging for more, but that was before he experienced Tyler’s kisses. He pushed Sean back roughly and wiped his lips with the back of his hand.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
The shocked and sad expression on Sean’s face should have made him feel some kind of guilt, but Ethan was too pissed off to care. Sean stepped into his personal space and grabbed Ethan by the chin, forcefully moving his head to the side.
He must have noticed the bite marks and hickeys left on his neck from Tyler. Ethan wrenched his face away from Sean’s fingers and moved away from him.
“Where the fuck did you get those? Who have you been with?” Sean asked, a scowl on his face.
Ethan turned around and couldn’t believe Sean had the gall to question him. “You don’t get to ask me those questions, ever!” he stressed. “It’s none of your business. You fucked two guys in the bed we bought together and you think you have the nerve to question me.” He crossed his arms over his chest. “At least I had the decency to wait until we were over before I fucked someone else,” he sneered.
Sean was pissed, as evidenced to the ticking in the sides of his jaw. “We are not over, Ethan,” he stated. “I’m going to give you some space for now, but the next time I come back, you need to be ready to talk.” He walked over to the door and opened it, getting ready to walk through, but Ethan stopped him.
What an idiot? I don't need space. I want you out of my life.
“Wait!” Ethan yelled, and Sean turned around with a smug smile on his face. “This is your first and last notice.” Sean raised a brow in question. “Be out of my house in two days.” Sean knew Ethan was talking about the house in Chicago that he bought.
Fuck, I was definitely taken for a fool.
“And another thing… my keys,” he said with his hand stretched out.
The smile on Sean’s face fell. He roughly shoved his hand into his pocket, pulling out a set of keys and threw them at Ethan almost hitting him in the face.
“How mature,” Ethan snapped.
“Fuck you,” Sean said then walked out, slamming the door behind him.
Immediately, Ethan reached into his pocket, taking out his phone and Googled locksmiths, calling the first one he saw and offering to pay them to change the locks on his door immediately, no matter the cost. He breathed a sigh of relief when the first person he called agreed to come out right away.
He clasped his hands together realizing how shaken up he was after his confrontation with Sean. He walked over to his sofa and sat down, leaning forward, covering his face, and sighed into his hands. He’d never seen Sean so angry before. He had the strangest feeling that would not be the last time he’d see him again.

What the fuck am I doing? Tyler asked himself for the hundredth time since Ethan left. He knew he’d wanted Ethan for one night and the weekend, but suggesting that they become friends with benefits was completely out of the blue. He had been shocked when he wasn't told to go to hell. Tyler hadn’t been lying when he told Ethan he wasn’t ready for a relationship. Relationships came with too many complications and too much drama.
But he had lied to Ethan when he told him that he needed to stay for a couple more days for business. The truth was he wasn’t ready to go back to New York, he needed some time to regroup. He had no regrets about what happened over the weekend. The last couple of hours he spent with Ethan, just the two of them, made Tyler realize how much he enjoyed the other man's company.
It was not just an infatuation. The sex was great and he could still feel the remnants of having Ethan inside of him. Not only could he fuck, but Tyler still liked that Ethan was the same sarcastic little shit he met a few years ago. But he was also sexy, smart, and had a sense of humor that appealed to him.
It ate Tyler up that he had agreed not to ask what the hell happened between Ethan and his fiancé. Whatever the guy had done, he had been stupid enough to let Ethan go. Obviously, it was something that drove Ethan to Las Vegas. Tyler was positive Christen had no idea that Ethan and that Sean guy broke things off. Tyler would have expected to have heard about it from Christian if Christian had known. His little brother could be a big
bear when it came to protecting his best friend.
Ethan wasn’t kidding about one thing. If his mother were to find out about them being together, he and Ethan would be walking down the aisle saying their I do’s in less than a week. His mother desired for all of her boys to start a family and give her grandkids, but Tyler was having too much fun to be suddenly tied down.
The arrangement with Ethan should work out wonderfully. Tyler would admit he had never been in a committed relationship. He’d never had the time really, always busy moving from one new thing to another. It was not the thought of loving one man or woman that scared him, it was the aspect of promising love for all eternity to that one person too soon or for the wrong reasons.
The vibration coming from the side table, pulled him from his thoughts. Rolling over, he picked up his phone. It was his twin brother Lucas, no doubt calling to check up on him. He and Christen always joked with Lucas that he was a mother hen like their mother, but Lucas refused to admit it.
“Yeah,” he answered.
“How did the deal go,” Lucas asked. “Should I expect to sign the papers tomorrow?”
“They will be in the office first thing in the morning. And before you ask I added Christen’s name to the deed. Same as always.”
He and Lucas decided a long time ago that whatever business they invested in, Christen would always be a part of it, in case something happened to them on one of their Seeker missions.
“Good,” Lucas answered. They talked about business for a few more minutes before Lucas asked. “Are you alright? You don’t sound so good.”
Trust Lucas to pick up that he had too much on his mind. “Yeah, I'm okay. Just tired, you know. The time zone kind of fucked with my sleep cycle.” That last part was partially true.
“Are you sure?” his brother asked, not entirely convinced.
“Yeah, I’m sure. So how is it going at home?” Tyler asked quickly changing the subject.
“It’s going great. However, I’m staying out of smother’s path at the moment. With Christen gone, the woman is driving dad up the fucking wall. But we know he won’t say anything to her.”
Tyler chuckled. Smother was the nickname he, Lucas, and Christen came up with when they were kids, when referring to their mom.
Love the woman like a rock, but she can be a tad bit too much at times.
“Then, in that case, I think I’ll stay here a few more days, be here for the start of the construction. After she’s done bugging dad and turns her attention to you, she’ll have her hands full.” Tyler teased.
“I don’t think so little brother; you better get your ass back here.” chided Lucas. “I’ve cancelled three dates in the past week because I was afraid she would show up at my house with cake.”
Tyler laughed. “For one of mom’s cakes I would happily cancel a date. I wouldn’t trade her for the world.”
“Damn, you’re such a mama’s boy,” grumbled Lucas.
“And proud of it,” he boasted
“Yeah, yeah. No wonder you are her favorite,” Lucas muttered before hanging up the phone.
Essentially, they were all mama’s boys. Their mom loved them equally and differently for who they were. Marilyn Hamilton was strong minded and very opinionated but would be there for you when you needed her. When he and Christen came out to their parents about their sexual preferences. Marilyn and Asher hugged them and told them, whoever they loved was fine with them.
As long as all three Hamilton boys were happy with their chosen partner, Marilyn and Asher Hamilton would stand by their sons. Grandchildren were their only requests. Although men were able to bear children, there were still homophobic assholes who were not open to the aspect.
Tyler remembered reading the reports that were not printed in the history books, of what happened after men started showing up pregnant. It was absolutely unreal to everyone. Once word got out what was happening to society, the medical profession became unrecognizable. Doctors who took the Hippocratic Oath to do no harm were doing the opposite.
The population hadn’t been ready for the new changes that were taking place; it had been close to genocide. History repeated itself, where no one felt safe from persecution. According to the reports, it was the witch trials all over again, under a different name. Religious zealots and homophobes blamed gay men and women, claiming it was God’s way of pointing out their perverse lives rather than placing the blame where it belonged, at Morgan Leap’s feet.
At the time no one saw the positive aspects of what was happening, only the negative. The world is now on a more equal footing, thought Tyler.
So many lives were lost because of fear and ignorance. Scientists sought a way to eliminate the serum by making an antidote, but whatever they came up with only made it worse by helping the changes that the Leap Pregnancy XY Gene Serum had already started.
Although the world was changing, becoming more accepting, there were still parents who felt it was wrong for their sons to be born with the ability to have children and tried having their reproductive system removed. However, removing the newly functioned reproductive system caused complications to the male’s body.
In some cases, it ended up killing the man or stopping them from having a child completely. To gain more control over the situation, government officials made a stipulation that it was illegal for a parent to try and remove the child's reproductive system. Other countries followed suit, going as far as building facilities that were primarily for expecting men and their care.
Laws were put in place by the new government, that when a male reached the age of eighteen, they were allowed to have their uterine sac burned; eliminating the prospect of them getting pregnant. Even years later there were oppositions that tried to go against the law, but gay couples rights were protected and not seen as any different from a heterosexual couple.
Tyler supposed that homophobia would be something that would never go away. Society was filled with hate just as much as it was filled with love. He was happy that his parents had always been encouraging of the choices that he and his brothers made; as long as he was satisfied with said choices. Though he was certain his mother would not be happy if she knew of the danger he and Lucas got placed in as a part of an assassin organization.
Seekers, a private organization that sometimes operated in and outside of the government, men and women who were assassins sent to eliminate threats that most organizations could not handle. There was one blight on the Seekers record that most agents refused to talk about: the killing of Carter Miller and his child. Carter Miller was Morgan Leap’s first experimental subject and also his lover. Carter Miller’s death had been very gruesome. The agent who called himself Gabriel had been sent to bring Leap and Carter in alive, but instead took his time torturing the pregnant man, before cutting out his child and leaving them both to die.
Many speculated that Miller’s death, and that of his child were the reason for Morgan Leap’s revengeful actions. No one knew what happened to the agent. His name was removed from the reports, but it was still whispered among agents who knew the whole story. Gabriel acted alone. No one knew what Gabriel looked like. Back when the Seekers organization started up, it was with a small group of ex-military men and women and they wore masks to hide their identity, simply going by code names.
Tyler had asked his father a few years ago whether he had met the agent who killed Carter Miller or if he knew anything about him. His father had told him no, but Tyler wondered if his dad had been lying to him.
Tyler understood the need to get physical on a mission. There were times he and his team had been called in to extract undercover operatives who had been captured. Those missions would get a bit dicey. Tyler wouldn’t deny that he had crossed the line a time or two by beating the shit out of some of the bad guys he had come across. And he'd only killed in self-defense or to save the life of another, but never had he done it in cold blood for the sheer enjoyment.
His latest mission was supposed to be in and out. The
intel he got detailed the recent movements of Sebastian Moss, an arms dealer who got his hands on a new technology that could change the weapons industry for the military and criminal syndicates. Sebastian Moss was living under the name Khalid Sahli in a lavish compound. He had known that a simple knock on the door would not get him through the front door.
It had taken Tyler three days to track him and a little longer to get to him. The Middle East Government had been kind enough to let him into their country, but had told Tyler they would not assist him further when it came to retrieving Sebastian Moss, who had refused to give up quietly.
Sebastian Moss had taken a family as hostages once he realized Tyler had tracked him down. He had tried to negotiate with Moss, but managed nothing more than to maintain the status Quo. In the middle of the night, Tyler and his team had found a way into the compound and rescued the family. In the end, he was happy, there was only one death, and that was Sebastian Moss. He had also been able to retrieve the technology and had his team safely transport it back to American soil, so that their scientists could study it further.
He sat up in bed, unable to sleep, his thoughts going from one subject to another that led him back to Ethan. He stared at the phone in his hand, wondering if he would appear too needy if he called him. It was hard to explain, but he missed the other man’s presence after spending some time with him without anyone else around.
Tyler remembered the first time he met Ethan. He hadn’t been very nice. He had been pissed that he had had to pick Christen and his friend up from the airport. It was the same night he had a date with Tonya Anderson, busty blonde who strung him along for months before finally consenting to go out with him. He had also been starting to realize that he liked guys and he hadn’t known exactly how to deal with his feelings.
He couldn’t deny that the first time he saw Ethan he found him beautiful, with his brown curly hair surrounding his face, but what had drawn Tyler in was his eyes. He had spent the whole car ride angry that he was late for his date and attracted to his brother’s friend. He couldn’t wait to get Christen and Ethan out of his car.
