Blue Moon: Mundy's Landing Book Two

Back in the living room, she finds him holding his phone, once again looking at the photo he’d shown her earlier.
“We shall never tell,” he muses thoughtfully.
“What do you think it means?”
“It means someone was determined to keep a secret. Now the question is, should we try to find out what it was? Or should we let it stay buried?”
Again, she finds herself thinking of her mother, buried so deeply by her father—and her own memory—that Emerson can’t even remember what she looked like.
The mirror yields few clues. She herself is a Mundy through and through, bearing a strong resemblance to her father. They share a long-limbed build, though his hasn’t been lean in years, and thick, wavy hair, hers brunette and cascading halfway down her back, his now faded to white. They have the same dimple on their right cheek, the same angular nose, the same bristly slashes of brow. Even their wide set, prominent, upturned eyes are the same, with one notable exception.
Both of Jerry Mundy’s eyes are a piercing blue. Only one of Emerson’s is that shade; the other, a chalky gray.
“I think,” she tells her father, “it’s time to do a little digging into the past.”
