Wicked Magic

“I’ll bet you did. You seem like a determined person.” Alex paused a moment as she regarded Chandler. “Never managed to find that special someone, though.”
“Nope. Never had much luck there.”
Alex poured Chandler some more wine and then topped off her own glass. Chandler knew she probably should have stopped her from filling her glass again. She was a lightweight when it came to drinking, especially on an empty stomach. She already felt the buzzy, warm effects of the alcohol.
“You’re probably sorry you came inside my house now, aren’t you? Asking personal questions you’d rather not discuss. I do apologize.”
“No, it’s okay. I’ve never talked much about my family to anybody.”
“We don’t need to if you don’t wish to. I mean, we’ve only just met.”
“It depresses me to talk about them.”
“Then we can talk about something else. Ever been married, engaged, have a boyfriend or significant other?”
“No, no, and no I don’t currently have a boyfriend. What about you? Have you ever been married?” Chandler eyed her, eager to know the answer.
Alex smiled, almost as if she knew why Chandler was asking. “Smart. Turning it back around on me. Well, yes, I did try that once, a while ago. Lasted about two years. And no, we did not part as friends. He was a pompous, self-righteous ass, and his daughter was a spoiled brat. That was the last time I ever let myself be pressured into a marriage.” She paused as she appeared to consider something. “But that’s in the past. To properly answer your question, I broke up with someone about month or so ago. Somewhat part of the reason I relocated here. We knew too many of the same people in New York. Made it difficult to move on. I wanted to after I found out she’d cheated on me.”
Chandler choked on her wine and came close to spitting it out.
“I guess I should have told you that I was bisexual. Although, lately, I’ve been leaning more toward lesbian. I’ve always hated labels. It’s the person you’re with that matters. Don’t you agree?” Alex leaned closer, appearing interested to learn Chandler’s opinion.
“Y-yes, I suppose,” she answered between coughs.
“Are you okay?”
Chandler sipped some of her wine, trying to ease her coughing. It didn’t help as well as water would have. “Yes,” Chandler managed to get out. “You just, well, surprised me is all. I never would have guessed.”
“I hope it doesn’t bother you.”
“No, of course not.”
“Good, because I’d like for us to become friends.”
“Me too.”
Chapter 4
Chandler didn’t remember falling asleep. It wasn’t until she rolled over onto her back that she started to become aware that something wasn’t quite right. This bed was too soft and way too small. As she sat up and opened her eyes, she groaned in pain. The room was way too bright. It made her head hurt. Even through squinty eyes, she could tell she wasn’t in her bedroom. Once she managed to fully open her eyes, she recognized the room. She was still at Alex’s house, having slept on her couch.
Pushing the blanket away, she swung her legs off the couch and planted her feet on the floor. Holding her head in her hands, she made a feeble attempt to ease the pain pounding away inside her brain. This sort of thing had only happened to her one other time. She’d gotten drunk at a college party during her freshman year. She swore she’d never do that again after being horribly sick and hung over the next day. Since then, she never drank more than one glass of anything, at least not until last night.
As she rubbed her temples, she noticed that not only had Alex given her a pillow and a blanket last night, she’d left a bottle of water and some aspirin on the coffee table beside the couch. Grateful, she swallowed two pills and drank half the water. It wasn’t until she stopped to take a breath that she noticed Zelda was in her chair observing her. It was a little bit creepy how that cat stared at her. It was as if she was spying on her.
Ignoring the cat, Chandler began to look around the room. She was alone and the house was quiet except for a ticking clock. Any other time the sound wouldn’t have bothered her, but it might as well have been fingernails on a chalkboard with how she felt.
As she sat on the couch and finished her water, Chandler tried to remember last night. After she and Alex had drunk the first bottle of wine, she had a vague recollection of Alex opening another one. Things started to get fuzzy after that. Then one memory flashed and she froze. There was a kiss. A kiss that she’d initiated.
“Oh God!” Chandler slowly lowered the water bottle onto the table. Panicked, she stood, having to stop and brace herself when she swayed on her feet. She looked down and noticed her shoes were missing. When she located them, she gathered them up and put them on. She needed to leave before Alex woke up and she was forced to face her. Every little noise put her on edge. It was bad enough that her head felt like it wanted to explode, but she feared if she didn’t leave soon, she was going to have a major anxiety attack.
After she folded the blanket and placed the pillow on top of it, she hurried as fast as she could out of Alex’s house. She knew she should have at least left a note, and felt guilty about it, but all she could think about was the kiss she’d shared with Alex, and how much she needed to escape. By the time she was safely inside her own house again, the details of the kiss became more and more vivid as bigger chunks of her memory returned.
Alex had been surprised by the kiss at first, but took control once it was initiated. Chandler had willingly allowed it, melting into full, soft lips, much softer than any man she’d ever kissed. Oh God, and the way the kiss made her feel. No one had ever made her feel like that. Her face heated up at the memory as a twinge of arousal stirred between her legs. This wasn’t the way this was supposed to happen. She wasn’t supposed to find herself attracted to her new neighbor, who also happened to be a woman. She was so in trouble.
Once Chandler was inside her bedroom, she stripped out of her clothes and headed into her bathroom, hoping a hot shower would put things into perspective. Standing under the warm spray of water, Chandler’s mind raced with several random thoughts.
Did it really happen? It could have just been a dream. As much as she tried to convince herself otherwise, she knew it had happened, and she’d enjoyed it. But how could she enjoy kissing a woman? She wasn’t gay. What the hell was happening to her? She didn’t want to think about Alex sexually, but her body was betraying her.
The more she tried not to think about the kiss, the more she thought about it, and about Alex. The feel of Alex’s body pressed against hers, her hands in her hair, holding her as she kissed her. If Chandler hadn’t passed out, who knows how far past kissing they would have gone? The thing was, she wasn’t sure if she was feeling relief or regret.
In her mind she dared to entertain the possibility of what might have occurred had she not passed out. Hands would have wandered and touched sensitive places as kisses became more passionate and arousal grew. She hated how fast her body responded to such wanton thoughts, but it had been over a week since she'd last indulged in giving herself an orgasm. She wouldn’t be denying herself today.
She closed her eyes and gave in to her thoughts. She slowly moved her hands up her body, over soft curves, inching upward, higher and higher until the weight of full, firm breasts filled her hands. She pretended they were Alex’s hands.
As her thumb and forefinger pinched and rolled sensitive pink nipples, delicious sensations shot straight to her clit, making it tighten and throb. Her heart rate increased along with her breathing as she felt at the mercy of her hormones. It was crazy how easy it was to fantasize about Alex while she touched herself. Not only was the woman gorgeous, but she oozed sensuality. The way her kisses made Chandler feel, she wondered what those lips would feel like on other parts of her body, kissing and licking sensitive places while she squirmed in delight. She moaned as her body shivered at the thought.
Needing to touch herself,
Chandler moved her right hand from her breast down her body, past thick blonde curls, between her legs where her fingers were coated by her arousal. She was desperate for the release an orgasm could bring.
The moment her fingers made contact with slick flesh, Chandler drew in a sharp breath and shut her eyes as a wave of pleasure filled her body. She took her time to tease and touch her sex, careful to avoid direct contact with her clit. It felt so good, much more intense than any other time she’d masturbated. She savored the feeling as she fought with herself not to rush to the final moment, but her body had other ideas.
Unable to wait any longer, she moved her hand, using her middle finger to touch her swollen clitoris. She swirled her finger in slow firm circles, knowing where to touch herself to get the most pleasure. Would Alex’s touch feel this good? She groaned at the thought and rubbed herself faster and harder, trying to reach her release.
When her legs grew shaky, she moved her left hand away from her breast and reached for the wall to steady herself. As good as this felt and as intense as this was, she found herself staring at the handheld showerhead. Her sex clenched, as she imagined how much better this could feel.
Removing her hand from between her legs, she reached for the showerhead and pulled it down from its holder. With trembling hands she adjusted it to the setting she liked best and then moved it down between her thighs. Her eyes closed the instant the warm, powerful stream made contact with sensitive flesh.
“Fuck!” she cried out. Her pelvis jutted forward, seeking as much sensation as possible.
Somehow, Chandler managed to stay vertical as her left hand tensed and flexed against the shower wall. Her other hand held the showerhead in place while her body moved, and she struggled to reach her climax. She was completely focused on her clit and what the pulsating water was making her feel. It kept building and tightening until she froze, caught up in a cosmic wave of pure pleasure. A second later, her orgasm crested, and Alex’s name fell from her lips as her body pulsed in wave after wave of orgasmic bliss. Breathing heavily, she dropped the showerhead and pressed the side of her face against the cool tile of the shower as she slowly came back to herself.
A few minutes later, she returned the showerhead to its holder and turned off the water. She opened the shower door and grabbed one of the bath towels hanging on the wall.
Wrapped up in a towel, Chandler stared at herself in her bathroom mirror. Bloodshot blue-gray eyes stared back at her as she combed tangles out of her long wet strands of blonde hair. She was still weirded out by everything, but at least her headache was better.
How was she ever going to face Alex again? She was positive all Alex would have to do was take one look at her and know that she’d touched herself while thinking about her. Now she was going to have to move.
After she’d pulled her hair into a ponytail, Chandler went into the other room to get dressed. As she stood in her walk-in closet, she surveyed all her clothes and wondered if she had it in her to focus on working today. Then she started to worry about Alex. What if she decided to come over?
Chandler grabbed a pair of warm jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, a pair of thick socks, and her hiking boots. It had been a while since she last went over to the park and walked along one of its trails. She believed she had a better chance of avoiding Alex if she wasn’t home.

Alex stood in front of an antique wall-mounted mirror and grinned. She enjoyed observing Chandler in the shower. She’d found it both enlightening and arousing.
When she heard Zelda enter her bedroom, she turned away from her mirror. With a wave of her hand, a swirl of gray smoke engulfed the cat, morphing it into an elderly-looking woman.
“Good morning, Zee.”
“Good morning, mistress.” Zee nodded and then focused her attention to the mirror on the wall. “Miss Gray left in a hurry first thing this morning. She appeared to be a bit panicked.”
Alex chuckled and faced her mirror once again. “Yes, she did, didn’t she? I must say I was a bit disappointed last night, but she managed to unknowingly make it up to me this morning.”
“Is she interested?”
“Oh yes, she’s very interested.” Alex’s gaze remained fixed on the mirror. The scene that played out before her wasn’t as interesting as earlier, but for the moment, she was unable to turn away. “Although she’s trying to deny it.”
“Is she the one? I know you’ve been searching a long time.”
“Yes, I do believe she is. But she’s going to make me chase her.”
“You didn’t expect it to be easy.”
“Good things worth having never are.”
The room fell silent when the mirror image showed Chandler dropping her towel. Alex licked her lips as she took in Chandler’s naked form. The view was short-lived as Chandler slipped into her blue cotton panties and off-white sports bra. It was apparent that she dressed for comfort, not seduction.
“If she only realized how delectable she is.” She smiled at Chandler’s crude attempt to hide a voluptuous body under an oversized shirt and baggy jeans.
When Chandler finished dressing, Alex waved her hand in front of her mirror and changed it back to a normal reflection. She turned around and looked over at Zee. “She’s very good at hiding from herself, but I see who she truly is. I know what she is capable of and I intend to help her realize it. In the meantime, I may require your help.”
“Anything you need, mistress. You know I live to serve you.”
“Yes, I know you do.”
Zee frowned a moment, looking as if she wanted to ask something but refrained.
“What are you thinking, Zee?”
“I was wondering why you don’t just use your power on her if you desire her so much.”
“Because, my dear, this isn’t about lust. I want Chandler to be aware when she gives her heart to me.”
“What would you like me to do to help you?”
“I’ll let you know. I have something else I’m going to try first.”
“Very good, mistress.”
Alex waved her hand and changed Zee back into her normal state as Zelda.
Chapter 5
It began to rain while Chandler walked along the upper trail. Random drops started out as small pitter pats, and then gradually built into a steady downpour. She’d been prepared for the rain to a point, but the harder it came down, the more she became inclined to turn around and head back to her vehicle.
Before she made it to the parking lot her boots were covered in mud, and anything not covered by her rain jacket was saturated. She was cold and wet, but reluctant to return to her home.
After she got inside her jeep, she sat and stared out the windshield. It was impossible to see anything as the glass was blurred by the torrent of rain beating down against her vehicle.
Frustrated, she sighed as she debated what to do. She could head home and get into some warm dry clothes and maybe do some work, or she could head into town and spend a few hours hiding inside the local movie theater. She remembered Kara saying she wanted to get together and see a movie before school started up again.
Decision made, she reached for her smart phone and dialed her friend’s number. After the fourth ring, Kara picked up.
“Hello, Chandler. What’s up?”
“Oh, I was wondering if you still wanted to go see a movie. You know, the one you were talking about. I thought today would be the perfect day since the weather is crap, and I’m not in the mood to work.”
“Yeah, that would be great. There’s one at two o’clock.”
“Okay. Let’s meet at the theater then.”
“Aren’t you home?”
“No. I decided to go hiking today. Kind of trapped inside my jeep at the moment. I got rained out while I was on one of the trails.”
“Well, surely you knew it was going to rain today.”
“I needed to get out.”
“Silly girl. Well, I’m finishing something up, but I can meet you a
s soon as I’m done.”
“Great. I’ll see you in a bit.”

Chandler arrived at the movie theater before Kara. She purchased her movie ticket and went inside to wait for her friend. She paced the lobby and considered stopping in the arcade when she noticed Kara enter the building ten minutes later. She wasn’t alone. Walking beside her was Alex. Chandler froze when Alex looked right at her. Her body tensed as panic took hold of her. The woman was smirking at her like she knew all her dirty secrets. There was at least one, for sure.
As Kara approached Chandler, she pulled a face, her head tilted to the side. “Something wrong?”
“Um, no.” Chandler swallowed nervously. She glanced at Alex before she focused again on Kara.
“You sure?”
“Yes. I’m fine.” She needed to calm down or Kara would never let it drop.
“I hope you don’t mind, but I invited Alex to come along. You have met Alex, haven’t you?” Kara looked between the two women.
“Oh, we met yesterday, didn’t we, Chandler?” Alex wore an impish grin. She appeared to be enjoying Chandler’s discomfort.
“Um, yes,” Chandler managed to say as she looked Alex in the eye.
Kara was still regarding Chandler suspiciously when Alex suggested, “Kara, why don’t you go save us some seats while Chandler and I go pick up some goodies for the movie?”
“Okay. Could you get me a root beer? And, if you’re getting popcorn, I don’t like butter on mine.”
“No butter, right.” Alex acknowledged Kara before she returned her attention to Chandler.
“Cool. See you in a bit.”
When Kara left, Chandler felt as if her friend had abandoned her.
“Shall we?” Alex pulled Chandler’s attention back to her.
Chandler forced a smile on her face as she nodded.
Feeling lightheaded, Chandler’s heart pounded as she followed Alex up to the concessions stand. How had this happened? Alex was the one person she’d tried to avoid, and here she was standing next to her. The universe had a sick sense of humor at times.
