by Rob Dircks
Tesla’s achievements and his abilities as a showman demonstrating his seemingly miraculous inventions made him world-famous. Although he made a considerable amount of money from his patents, he spent a lot on numerous experiments. He lived for most of his life in a series of luxury New York hotels, although the end of his patent income and eventual bankruptcy led him to live in less elaborate circumstances. Tesla continued to invite the press to parties he held on his birthday to announce new inventions he was working on and make (sometimes unusual) public statements. Because of his pronouncements and the nature of his work over the years, Tesla gained a reputation in popular culture as the archetypal “mad scientist.” He died on January 7, 1943.
Popular memory of Tesla and his work declined after his death, but since the 1980s his reputation has experienced a resurgence in popular culture. Tesla, indeed, lives on.

Okay, there’s only one. But it’s a doozy:
Unleash The Sloth!
75 Ways to Reach Your Maximum
Potential By Doing Less
Available at amazon.com, through the iTunes store,
and at www.unleashthesloth.com.
It’s the self-help book you’ve always wanted. The one that tells you’re fine just the way you are – and that you can probably get away with doing even less. It sounds like a paradox, I know. But just look at the mighty sloth, who makes no excuses for who he is – and becomes everything he needs to be.
And now it’s your turn. Take a nap instead of mowing the lawn. Save yourself a few steps and jaywalk. Save yourself a few pen strokes and replace your signature with an X. Make life easier, and you’ll find that you’ll be just as lovable, productive or unproductive as you would’ve been anyway – but without all the unnecessary stress and guilt. Now THAT’S what I call reaching your potential!
