She nodded, not trusting her voice. The tenderness he expressed with his whole body threatened to choke her.
“Can you forgive me for not understanding your giving heart? Do you think we can find a ministry, a way of serving others that would involve both of us?”
Joy overcame every other sensation in her being.
“Yes and yes.” She giggled. “You’ve made my dream come true.”
“How’s that?”
“I told Meredith when we were girls that I’d marry you someday.”
He opened a burgundy velvet box, wherein lay a platinum braided band accented by a plethora of colored gems.
She gasped, pulled her right hand from his to balance the roses, and held out her left hand. “It’s gorgeous. Look at those colors.”
“So that’s a yes?”
“That’s a yes, from the future Zoe Gorgeous.”

Do you immediately form an opinion at sight of a raggedly dressed person standing on a corner, often holding a cardboard sign? It’s easy sometimes for human nature to categorize certain groups of people, depending upon where and how we grew up. Could be, a certain person or scene brings negative past events to mind.
Christ Jesus made no such distinction when He walked the earth. According to 1 Samuel 16:7, “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
I pray that no matter what month it is, you find someone who needs encouragement and you are able to reach out. We can give of ourselves all year round.
