Sabrina's Vampire Series Boxed Set

“Oh, indeed I would, Kyle. Gabe and I have our own mate now, and she has definitely brought huge changes to us both.” Josef had a very slight smile on his face, as he spoke of his mate.
“I forgot, congratulations, though, I’m still not sure how that works. She’s a mate to both of you?” Kyle asked, really confused about that.
“Yeah, she is, we’ve both bonded with her, and she’s fucking amazing!” Gabe laughed at the confused look on Kyle’s face and the shocked look on Sabrina’s.
“Well, I hope she makes you as happy as I am now.” Kyle replied, still not quite getting the threesome.
“I am sure she will.” Josef turned to Kyle and asked in a nonsense tone, “Can we discuss the business issue you called about?” That tone Kyle was far more familiar with.
“Of course, Sabrina, why don’t you go get the big luggage out and start getting ready for our trip.” Kyle placed a small kiss on her forehead, as he gently, but firmly, moved her towards the hall, where the staircase was.
“Uh, sure,” she replied, obviously annoyed at being asked to leave the room.
As soon as she was safely upstairs, Kyle's shoulders slumped, fear and worry now obvious on his face. Josef moved the few steps to his side and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Don’t worry, we are here to help. Now, tell me, what are your plans?” He asked, and Kyle took a little comfort from his words.
“I’ve spoken to Boyd, we’re going to Italy, but the flight’s not for another two days. I’ve already organized a different passport for her, so if this guy is anything like me and hacks in, he won't find her name, or mine, on any passenger list. I’ll use one of my aliases, but we need to keep her safe until I can get her to Boyd's. He’s even older than you Josef, so he’ll be able to protect her.” Kyle’s stomach was tied up in knots just thinking of another Vampire hurting his precious mate.
“Yes, he will, but we need to decide how to do this. I assume she's unaware of the threat?” Josef asked, and Kyle nodded his head.
“I can’t tell her, it’s my fault she’s in danger. She’s already suspicious. She was a cop in Scotland before we met here, so she’s used to folks lying and she knows...she has a sixth sense about that stuff.” Kyle wasn’t sure how long he could keep up the pretence, but knew he had to. He didn't want her worried about some Vamp coming after her.
“Well, that poses a new set of problems. The best way to keep her safe would be for you to come stay at our place for these two days. Nobody would be able to get to her there. Of course, I would be with you, in case there's any trouble,” the ancient Vampire frowned, as if trying to work through the problem.
“I know, but I just can’t Josef,” Kyle’s voice was low, trying to make absolutely certain his mate didn’t hear the conversation.
“Okay, I think I should call Ronan. Did you know he’s now Director of the SEB? Anyway, if this is a powerful Vampire that has your mate in his sights and you are in a populated area, it may be better for them to be involved. What do you think?” Josef raised an eyebrow in question and Kyle ran through that idea in his mind.
Was it a good idea? Probably, but he wasn’t sure how to do it without Sabrina finding out. “It’s a good plan, if you think he can help on this end - until I get her to Boyd’s place. How do we do it without her finding out, though?” he asked and saw the corner of Josef’s lip lift to create something between a small smile and a sneer.
“Now, that part should be easy. I'll make the call and advise him of everything, and I'll take it from there. I shall phone you and let you know what the outcome is. In the meantime, I've asked my head of security, Donovan, to place some of his men around the property. We no longer require a tight security around our mate, long story, Kyle, we will catch up on that after you return from Italy, but it means I can free up a few men. They are all strong Vampires and Donovan is very good at his job. They will not be visible to your mate. You'll be able to sense them, but they will stay hidden, unless there are any threats. Is that acceptable?” Josef asked in his precise tone.
“Shit, yeah, that’s great. It’s taken a load off my mind. I’m powerful, but if I’ve got extra help around, it means I can relax a little and then maybe she won’t catch on to what’s wrong. Let me know what Ronan says...I’d heard he was now Director. He’s really shot up in that job and now he’s in charge. Must be good to have someone in that position.” Kyle half laughed, wishing he had a Vamp he had sired in such a powerful position. It would definitely come in handy at times, especially with his not-quite-legal endeavours.
“You would think so, but Ronan has a rare affliction for a Vampire. He has a conscience and a respect for the law of the land.” Josef almost, but didn’t quite, laugh at that.
“Yeah, he’s really a tight-ass, when it comes to wrongdoing and the letter of the law,” Gabe chuckled, and the mood lightened slightly.
Kyle realized he had missed his Wolf friend. He was always funny, and although they weren't best buddies, they had spent some good times together. Usually with women involved!
“He is, I have no idea where he gets it.” Josef said with a straight face, and the Wolf laughed out loud now, Kyle smiled at the levity and realized his stomach wasn’t quite as knotted as it had been earlier.
“We will go now. I'll call once I have spoken to Ronan. My men will remain in place until you leave for Italy. If there is any trouble, call me and I'll get here as quickly as I can.” Josef stuck his hand out and Kyle grasped it tightly.
“Thank you, both of you. Once this is all over, we’ll need to catch up with our mates, maybe go out to dinner or something.” He spoke, as he went to shake the Wolf’s hand, but Gabe grabbed him in a bear hug and patted his back.
“For sure, Kyle, we’ll set it up when you get back,” with that the Wolf let him go and walked to the front door, Josef already waiting on him.
As they left, he went outside and moved quickly, using his Vampire speed, checking the perimeter of the property. Sending his senses out, he could feel at least four, probably five, of Josef's men. Nodding his head to himself, he relaxed slightly before entering the house and making his way upstairs.
Chapter 3
As he entered their bedroom, he saw Sabrina placing some things into the large case on the bed, a frown was still on her beautiful face. He silently moved up behind her and grabbed her around the waist, he pulled her back into his body.
“Kyle!” she squealed in fright, not having heard him come in.
“You need to stop doing that! One of these days I’ll wallop you without thinking. Anyway, you seem happier now...everything okay?” She asked, knowing something had been up earlier and still a little peeved he wouldn’t tell her what was wrong.
“Yup, I was a bit uptight earlier, sorry. It was a business deal that hadn’t gone according to plan, but Josef’s taking care of it for me,” he nuzzled into her neck and felt her relax into his arms.
“Good, though, if it was something like that, then why didn’t you just tell me? I’m not a delicate little flower that can’t cope with some business problems. Even if I have no clue what you’re talking about half the time, you could have told me.” She was still a little annoyed, though her mind was now all over the place, his kisses on her throat were starting to take effect. What was it she had been annoyed about? She wasn’t sure any more.
“I don’t like boring you, baby, plus I much prefer doing stuff like this with you, rather than business talk.” Kyle’s hands were starting to work their magic on her body, as he cupped a breast and tweaked the nipple through her clothing.
“Why don’t you just lean over a little bit, yeah, that’s right,” Kyle removed her underwear and pushed the dress she had on up and over her shoulders, then her head, leaving her in only a bra. Her bra was removed very quickly, as he rid himself of his jeans.
Sabrina’s hands rested on the bed, as Kyle positioned himself behind her, slipping gently, s
lowly into her wetness. The moans that escaped her soft lips were the only thing he was after. “Shh, babe, why don’t we see if you can be quiet?” He wanted to make it sound like part of a game, but it was really because there were Vampires in the area with excellent hearing abilities.
“Really? You expect me to be quiet?” She whimpered and moaned at the same time.
“Mmm hmm, shush,” he whispered and took her a little harder, a little faster, and felt her rise to her first orgasm.
She tried hard, he knew she did, but failed miserably on the silence part. He suppressed a chuckle, as her body stopped convulsing and leaned over her back, his fangs erupting quickly from his gums. He moved her hair with one hand and her head automatically went into the position for him to feed. His great white teeth going straight to the spot where he could sense her blood flowing just under the skin.
A sharp bite and he was in, the blood flowed over his lips, into his mouth, and down his throat. His own moan was fairly loud, too, but nothing like the noises his mate was making. He gave up even trying to keep her quiet - what the hell - they were mated, who cared if anyone heard them, he thought, as his own release came.
It was more than a couple of minutes before Sabrina’s legs would hold her, he held her firmly, keeping her upright. “Want a shower?” He asked her quietly, and she only nodded her head, as he picked her up and moved quickly to the master bath.
After a quick shower, for them anyway, they were dressing, when his phone started to ring. He fished it out of his jeans pocket and saw ‘unknown,’ where a number should have been. He frowned, as he answered, and moved out of their bedroom, so Sabrina couldn’t hear his conversation.
“Yeah,” was all he said, he never liked to answer numbers he didn't know.
“Is this Kyle? It’s Ronan, Josef asked me to call,” the strong voice asked.
“Oh, yes, sorry, didn’t recognize your number,” Kyle relaxed only a little, Ronan was Director of the Supernatural Enforcement Bureau, an organization he was careful to stay away from.
“Josef has told me you have a problem with a Vampire hunting your mate?”
“Yes, that’s right, I sometimes help out a friend in the FBI, and he called me after some information was passed to him. It seems this Vamp is the partner of a suspected serial killer, and my contact, Frank, says he has vowed to hunt and kill her. Probably in retaliation for some work I did using my hacking skills to track the killer, though, we weren’t aware he had a partner. The FBI is on it, too, but they’re not aware the guy is a Vamp. I only found that out after I asked Gabe to check out our home before we returned from a trip.” Kyle was careful about what he said, not wanting to give Ronan anything he could use against him in the future.
“Okay, Josef also says you’re taking her out of the country, Italy I think he said, in a couple of days. In the meantime, he has his men covering your property. I can add some of my local guys, if you want?” Ronan asked, his voice all business.
“As Josef’s guys are already in place, I think we should be fine, unless he comes calling again, and then we’ll probably need your guys for clean-up. I’m not sure about the protocol, Ronan, but I can assure you, if this guy comes here I won’t be taking any chances, I’ll take him out no question.” Kyle’s voice was low, as he spoke, not wanting Sabrina to hear him, knowing that because Ronan was a Vamp he would hear him just fine.
“I understand that, however, I don’t want any humans drawn into this, whatever ‘this’ is. I'm sure there are things you’re leaving out, but that’s your business. So long as a full on battle doesn’t occur, then that’s fine with me. Save this number on your phone, it’s my cell. You can call me at any time, if you need help.”
Kyle smiled, yeah he was ‘leaving things out,’ but he wasn’t sharing, definitely not with the Director of the SEB. “Okay, I appreciate that.”
“Keep your mate safe, they are very rare for us Vampires,” Ronan finished, knowing that if he was in Kyle’s shoes, he would do anything, anything at all, to keep his own mate safe, if he had one that is.
“I will, I know how rare she is,” Kyle ended the call and took a deep breath before heading back into their bedroom.
Sabrina was once more placing items in the large suitcase and lifted her head and smiled at him, as he entered. Christ! He would make damn sure no psycho Vamp got his dirty hands on her.
“Remember, you don’t need to pack a lot, we’ll go shopping once we’re there. I’ve got an errand to run in a little while, but I won’t be too long. Do you want me to pick you up some food?” He hoped she didn’t ask to come. He was going to pick up her ‘new’ passport.
“Um, yeah, can you get me some Chinese?” she asked distractedly, not thinking about anything but their trip to Italy.
“Of course, your usual? I can call ahead and go to the Jasmine Palace and get your favorite.” He got his phone back out and placed a call, asking for the meal to be prepared and ready for pick up early evening. “That would be great, thanks,” she smiled, as she started to put underwear into the case. She missed the intent stare of Kyle, as he watched her, worry showing on his face.
Kyle shook himself, “I’ve got some work to do, see you in a bit,” and he walked back out and downstairs. Booting up his extremely powerful PC, he sat down to try and get as much information as he could on his target the year before and any insights into his partner.
As his machine came to life, he moved to his bookcase, he needed the cash to pay for the passport, rolling the bookcase aside, he went through the security to get into his safe. Retina, verbal, DNA - no other safe was as protected as this, it was loaded with explosives for anyone who tried to break in. A controlled blast would take out anyone trying to get in. Finally the safe unlocked and he opened it, taking out a wad of cash and another fake passport for himself. One that he hadn't used in a long time, so hopefully this Vamp would have no knowledge of the alias.
Placing the cash and passport into his back pocket, he returned to his PC and sat down, ready to go to work. First he checked if Frank, one of his FBI contacts, had sent him any information. He saw an encrypted email and he opened it, decrypted it, and started reading.
What he saw only ratcheted his worry up several notches. The mail included everything, even the crime scene photos of John's bloodied and broken body with the words, ‘You can’t hide in Vegas. I’ll take what you love.’ etched into his chest. Christ, the man had been severely tortured. Kyle’s eyes raked over the body and took in everything that had been done to the man. There was no way a human could survive that, and he was pretty sure even he would’ve given up his own mother during that kind of punishment. That meant that his torture continued long after he had given up any information he had.
The person responsible was one sick fuck. A sick fuck that now had eyes on his Sabrina. A shiver ran up his spine, as he thought of his gorgeous mate being subjected to such pain. Not going to happen, he kept telling himself.
He fired off a reply telling Frank if they got any information on this guy that they weren't to act on it. The guy was a Vampire and humans would not be able to take him down, he told Frank this in no uncertain terms. Advising Frank to pass information to him only and not take any chances, if they did, they would end up dead.
Then he started his own searches, going deeper and deeper into the serial killer’s past, his contacts, everywhere he had lived, even into his childhood. He used his hacking skills to try to find even a hint of someone he was regularly in contact with.
There was nothing, absolutely nothing. He found no contact that would fall into the category of ‘partner’ in his diabolical crimes. He read the information that Frank sent him again, looking closely among several programs he had open, he finally found an anomaly.
According to Frank’s paperwork, the killer had no living family. However, he seemed to be in contact with an aunt via emails and texts. Strange. Kyle pulled his phone out and called Frank’s
number, it rang only once before he heard his friend's voice.
“Kyle? Is that you? Is everything okay?” His voice was stressed and higher pitched than his usual tone.
“Yes to all three. Frank, your paperwork says the killer had no living relatives, is that absolutely certain?” He asked, knowing he may have stumbled onto a lead that everyone else had missed.
“Yes, he was an only child, no father, his mother was an only child and died a number of years ago. Why?” Frank’s voice had settled down a bit and Kyle was glad, he didn’t like to hear that high-pitched fear in his friend’s tone.
“So why was he in touch via email and texts with an ‘aunt’ for a year before he died?” He asked calmly, even though his stomach had clenched now, as he realized he had been right, he had a lead.
“What? No shit, don’t tell me our guys missed that? How the fuck did they miss that?!” Frank’s tone was now angry, and Kyle knew there were going to be a few heads rolling over this.
“Yup, the texts and emails themselves don’t raise any alarm bells, but I’m betting there's a hidden code in them. You guys have better code-breaking systems than I have. Can you get someone on that and then send everything you uncover to me?” Kyle was sure his friend would be on top of this, quickly.
“You bet, I’ll put our best guys on it and get the info to you soon. Kyle...I really am sorry...”
Kyle cut him off, “It’s okay, I know you didn’t mean to put anyone in danger. We just have to make sure nothing happens to Sabrina. By the way, did you get my e-mail about the guy being a Vamp?”
Frank’s sharp intake of breath told Kyle he hadn’t. “No, you shitting me?”
“No I’m not, do NOT send any of your guys after him, Frank, they’ll end up dead. I mean it, he’s old and powerful, I’ve got some help on this end for the moment, and we’re leaving for Italy in a couple of days. But if you get anything at all on him, send it to me, and if I can’t deal with it, I’ll send it onto the SEB, I have a contact there.” He wondered how Ronan would deal with this rogue Vampire, and then dismissed the thought. He didn’t care, so long as he was dealt with.
