She raised her brow. “You can’t seriously be wanting to have sex again?”
Zane laughed as she walked over.
He pulled her close and kissed her distended belly. The place where his child could be growing.
“You keep touching me there,” she said with a smile.
She was right. He held her close, wrapping as much of his hand around her belly as he could.
“I’m fascinated by it.” He looked up at her. “At your body.”
At the crescendo of her heat, she’d doubled over in pain, and Zane had felt lost for a moment. He’d wanted to hold her to make her feel better. Having sex with her had seemed wrong even though he knew that was what she needed.
When she’d taken him inside her body that last time, he couldn’t believe how swollen she’d felt. He’d been convinced that he was hurting her until she cupped his ass and pulled him deeper inside her.
God. Then, when he’d come in her, she’d gripped him tighter than ever before, as if her pussy were trying to suck his dick off his body.
The amazing part had been when she continued to orgasm, and every climax she’d experienced triggered one in him. He’d watched her belly grow before his eyes. He knew it was just his seed right now. But that seed had the chance to meet with her egg and make a little Isabelle or little Zane.
It was a miracle.
He kissed her stomach again and rested his head against it. “Do you think you’re pregnant?”
She ran her fingers through his hair. “I have no idea. I’ll only know when I either get my period or not.”
Zane pulled away and looked at her. “Your period?”
She laughed. “I work with a lot of human women. I meant, I’ll know when I either bleed or not.”
“Females talk about that stuff?”
She gently yanked on his hair. “Get the disgusted look off your face. It’s natural, and yes, we talk about everything. Even farting.”
Zane gave her a horrified look. “Females don’t fart.”
Isabelle laughed. “Yes, they do.”
Zane furiously shook his head back and forth. “Nope, nope, nope. I refuse to believe it.”
This only made Isabelle laugh harder.
“Why are you laughing, woman? Females don’t fart.”
She was laughing so hard that he had to pull her into his lap, so she didn’t fall down.
He didn’t think he was that funny, but he loved to see her so carefree and happy.
His phone rang, and he leaned over to pick it up.
It was Damien, which was a little odd.
Did something happen to Chase’s and Ranulf’s phones?
“Zane here.”
Isabelle put her head on his shoulder, and he wanted to hang up the phone and cuddle her close.
“Zane, it’s Damien. I need you to get packed right away. And I need you to tell Reid to check his email.”
Zane’s entire body went on alert.
Isabelle lifted her head. “What’s wrong?”
“Bram just bought tickets to Las Vegas.”
Isabelle’s eyes filled with fear, and Zane squeezed her to let her know he wouldn’t let anything happen to her.
“Lachlan sent the information and instructions to Reid,” Damien continued. “He needs to buy all the tickets home right when Bram’s flight is scheduled to take off. We need to make sure he is in the air and won’t turn around because he knows you’re coming home.”
“Okay. I’ll tell everyone to pack.” He looked at Isabelle, who nodded her head and got up from his lap to get dressed.
Zane went for his clothes as well while Damien finished talking, “Call me if you run into any problems.”
“Got it.” Zane hung up the phone and turned to Isabelle. “Pack. I’m going to tell everyone else they need to get moving. And I need to tell Reid to get on his computer.”
Isabelle’s hand flew to her mouth. “What about Tegan?”
Zane’s heart went out to Tegan. “Meds.” He shrugged. “It’s the only way. She needs to go home.” He walked over and gave Isabelle a kiss. “She’ll survive. She’s tough.”
He left the bedroom and knocked forcefully on Tegan and Reid’s door. “Time to join the Mile-High Club. You need to get your butts moving.” He kept walking to Ranulf and Chase’s room, again knocking with force. “You two need to start packing. Damien called.”
Both bedroom doors flew open at almost the same time, and there were four sets of eyes on alert, looking at him.
“Damien called. Bram’s coming to Las Vegas. We have to go home.” Zane looked at Reid. “You’re supposed to check your email. The directions from Lachlan are in there.”
Reid nodded and walked out of the bedroom and into the living room.
“Sorry, honey, it’s time for you to go,” Chase said.
A female appeared. She was pulling her shirt down and finger-combing her hair. “I’ll get my full fee, right?”
“Of course,” Ranulf said.
The female kissed both males on the mouths. “It’s such a shame I have to go early. I was thinking about giving you two boys a little extra time for free.”
“Ah, man.” Chase looked up at Zane.
“No.”
Chase looked back at the woman. “Sorry, honey.”
She shrugged. “Whatever. Call me when you boys are back in town.”
As she walked toward the door, Tegan grabbed her middle.
“Oh. Are you okay?” she asked Tegan.
Zane mouthed, Get her out of here, to Chase and Ranulf.
Ranulf took the woman by the shoulders and steered her toward the door. “She’ll be fine. She’s got IBS,” he said with a completely straight face.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, Zane had to laugh because Tegan straightened her spine as best as she could and said, “Hey.”
Chase came up next to her and put a hand on her shoulder. “It’s nothing to be embarrassed about.”
Tegan knocked his hand away. “Don’t touch me.”
Reid came back just as Ranulf shut the door to the hotel behind the escort.
“Okay, so I found a flight. I haven’t bought the tickets yet because we don’t want Bram to find out we’re coming home.” He narrowed his eyes at the corner of his computer. “I can theoretically buy them in twenty-five minutes. That means, we all need to get packed and get out of here because it’s going to be a close call. And we’re going to be spread out, but it’s the first flight out of here in the next couple of hours. After that, we’d have to wait four to five hours to get out of here.”
Tegan grabbed on to the doorframe and clutched her middle again.
Reid shoved his computer into Zane’s hands.
“Shit, Tegan, what are we going to do?”
“Meds,” Zane said.
Tegan lifted her head and nodded. “I’ll be okay. Just help me get packed, will you?”
“Of course.” He started to lead her into the room and then turned around at the last second. “Computer,” he said.
Zane gave it back to him. “Okay. We’ll get ready as soon as we can.” He went back toward his bedroom when he saw movement outside. “Damn it. I forgot about the security team.”
“I’ll tell them they are free to go as soon as we take off for the airport,” Ranulf said.
“Thanks,” Zane said and went back to Isabelle.
She was zipping up her bag as he walked in the door. Her expression read anxious and scared.
“We’re leaving ASAP.” He pulled her into his arms. “But, remember, I won’t let anything happen to you.”
She held him tight. “I know.”
The good thing was, he knew she meant it.
THE PLANE WAS fucking crowded, and Tegan was miserable.
She pulled her T-shirt away from her body and tried to fan herself with it.
They’d taken off only twenty minutes ago, and she and Reid had had sex right before they left the hotel, but she could tell the end of her heat wa
s coming. The worst of it. And she was trapped on a plane. She had no idea how she was going to make it home.
Reid kept glancing back at her. They were both sitting in aisle seats. He was several rows up and adjacent to her. She tried to smile every time he looked at her, but it was hard to be sincere. Plus, Reid wasn’t dumb. He could probably smell her.
The couple next to her had started making out about five minutes ago, and Tegan wasn’t sure they wouldn’t get naked right there in front of everyone.
A male came down the aisle, and as he neared, Tegan could smell that he was a shifter. A cat. She groaned because the man’s eyes were zeroed in on her.
He stopped right at her seat and knelt down. “Hey, honey. You need someone to help you with your little problem?”
“Perhaps you need to get your nose checked,” Reid said from right above them. “She already belongs to someone.”
The shifter stood.
“I would appreciate it if you left my wife alone.”
Reid had used the human word for mate, but the shifter understood.
He looked back at Tegan. “Let me know if you change your mind, honey,” he said before walking back to the front of the airplane.
Reid grabbed her hand and pulled on it. “Let’s go.”
She stood. “Where are we going?” As soon as the words left her mouth, a cramp hit her so fast and strong, she doubled over in pain.
Reid wrapped an arm around her waist and helped her walk to the back of the plane and into the restroom. Thankfully, their seats were toward the back, so it was a short trip.
“You didn’t take any medication, did you?” he said, obviously not happy with her.
She shook her head. She hadn’t wanted her senses to be dulled. What if something happened, and she just sat in her seat like a lump of worthlessness? Too bad her heat was so bad that she wasn’t any good to anyone anyway.
She’d never gotten to the end of a heat without medicine. Big mistake.
Reid closed and locked the door and spun her, so she faced the sink. He pulled her yoga pants down to her knees. She heard the sound of his jeans shifting and his zipper being pulled down.
He pushed on her back until she had no choice but to bend over. She clutched the sink as he thrust inside her. He clutched her hips and hauled her back to him. Over and over, he drove inside her until she snapped and came. Her orgasm hit her so hard; she had to bite her arm to keep from crying out.
Reid jerked her hips back one more time and poured himself into her. The rush of his seed hitting her was such a relief that she thought she might pass out. Instead, she came again.
And again.
Each time she came, so would Reid.
He put an arm around her, pulling her close and keeping their bodies together. He used his other hand to pull her hair away from her neck and kissed her shoulder. “You okay?”
She grabbed on to his arm and nodded. “You?” she gasped out as she climaxed again.
“I’m okay,” he said and nuzzled her neck.
She tipped her head. “Will you mark me? Please?”
He pushed her shirt aside with his nose. “Of course, Angel.” He kissed her first and then sucked on her skin, and right as her next orgasm hit, he bit down.
She clenched her jaw tight so as not to cry out, but it was hard to do when her orgasm went on and on. Every time she contracted around Reid, he would grunt and pulsate inside her. Her belly had already started to grow since they went in the restroom, and she started to wonder if she’d leave the lavatory, looking like she was six months pregnant.
One more long contraction, and then it was over.
It was the strangest feeling, but it was as if her whole body went from stone to jelly. There was a residual ache from her muscles cramping so much, but the sharp pain was gone.
She took a deep breath and relaxed against Reid.
Sometime during their last mutual orgasm, he’d let go of her neck. It was sore but a good sore.
He enveloped her in his arms. “Give me a minute, Angel, and I’ll pull out of you. I don’t want to hurt you any further.”
She knew he meant his barbs. They’d been buried in her tender flesh for the last fifteen minutes, keeping Reid against the opening of her cervix. She now felt them recede, and she gasped from the sensation.
He slowly withdrew from her body, and she appreciated him going slow. Her body didn’t seem to want to let go of him, and there was a slight tug as he pulled out.
Reid pulled up her pants and helped her straighten her shirt, and then he went to work on his own clothes. She should turn around and help him, but she was suddenly so tired that she was using all her energy to stand.
She heard his zipper go back up just as there was a knock on the door.
“Excuse me. You two need to come out of the restroom right now.” Whoever was on the other side did not sound happy.
“Come on, Angel,” Reid said and pulled her to his chest. He opened the door, and Tegan didn’t even attempt to move from the warmth of his body. “Sorry, miss. My wife doesn’t feel good. I didn’t want her to be sick in here, alone. I’ll take her back to her seat now.”
The flight attendant stepped back. “Oh, I’m sorry, sir, ma’am. We’ve just had an unusual amount of couples trying to have sex in the restrooms on this flight. It’s the strangest thing.”
Tegan felt bad, but she couldn’t help smiling at the situation. The humans would never know the reason for the weird spike in sexual arousal.
“Look at that,” Reid said. “You made her smile. Thank you.”
The flight attendant blushed at his praise.
“I think I might fall asleep, standing up,” Tegan said.
“Oh, sorry,” the flight attendant said. “Yes, go sit down.”
“Thank you, miss.”
Reid led her back to her seat and helped her sit. He knelt next to her and ran a hand over her hair. “You going to be okay?”
“Yeah. I’m going to try to nap. Don’t worry about me. The worst is over. We’ll be home soon.”
He looked at her, and she could tell he didn’t want to go.
“Really, Reid. It’s okay. I’ll be fine.” She cupped his cheek, astonished by how fast their relationship had changed. She would have always been sad if something happened to him, but now, she didn’t know what she would do if she lost him. “The worst is over, love.”
This made him smile at least. “Okay.” He looked at his seat. “I’ll be right over there, okay?”
She nodded and watched him walk to his seat. Her eyes were closing, but she wanted to make sure he made it back to his seat and got buckled in. He reached his chair but didn’t sit down. He was talking to someone. Either the person he was seated next to or the window-seat person.
Reid came back to Tegan with a smile on his face. “The guy next to me offered to switch.” He took her hands and helped her stand. “Come on, Angel.”
They passed the nice man on the way to Reid’s aisle. “Thank you,” she said to the older gentleman.
“You’re welcome, miss. I was married once. I understand.”
Reid let Tegan sit in the middle, and then he took his chair on the end. He pushed up the armrest between them and took her into his arms.
She fell asleep almost at once and didn’t wake until the plane’s wheels touched down. She jerked up at the sensation of landing. “Oh.” She looked at Reid.
“We’re home,” he said.
She turned to the window and saw the familiar sights of the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport. “It feels good to be back,” she told Reid. “Even if it’s colder here.”
He grabbed her hand. “I think we’ll all appreciate a little less heat in our lives right now.”
She smiled at his pun and kissed him.
After waiting for the doors to open and for everyone at the front of the plane to exit first, they finally made it off the plane. Zane, Isabelle, Chase, and Ranulf were all waiting for them when they came out of the tunnel.
<
br /> “You okay?” Isabelle asked.
“Yeah. Just tired. You?”
She smiled. “The same.”
Tegan looked at Zane, who had a sly smile on his face.
“What, Zane?” Tegan asked.
“I told you that you were joining the Mile-High Club today.”
Reid hit him on the back of his head.
“Ow.”
“This was about necessity, not fun.”
Zane gasped. “Did you hear that, Tegan? Reid just said having sex with you wasn’t fun.”
Tegan socked him in the stomach.
“Ooph.”
“Quit trying to start fights.” Tegan looked at Isabelle. “Remember, once Bram is gone, you can leave this loser.”
Zane put his arm around Tegan and gave her a noogie. “Who’s trying to start fights now?”
Tegan pushed him away. “You are such a turd,” she told him, but she was laughing.
Even with the threat still hanging over them, it felt good to be home.
BRAM WALKED UP to the counter at the hotel, alone. He’d left Stan and Larry outside. They were intimidating to some people, and he needed to get Isabelle’s room number.
“How can I help you this evening, sir?”
Bram smiled. “I’m looking for my girlfriend. She came here with a group of friends, and I want to surprise her. I was originally supposed to work, but I got the time off. So, rather than calling her, I thought it would be fun to show up.”
The lady smiled. “That does sound like fun.”
Bram chuckled. “More than you know.”
“What’s the name the room is under?”
Bram gave the name from the report he’d been given from the private investigator.
The woman typed a couple of things into the computer, and a puzzled expression came over her face.
She looked up at Bram. “I’m sorry, sir, but they checked out already.”
Stay calm. Stay calm.
Maybe they had switched hotels. He would call the PI and ask for an update.
“Can you tell me when?”
She squinted at the screen. “It looks like it was a little over three hours ago.”
Bram managed one last smile. “Okay. Thank you.”
“I’m sorry your surprise is ruined.”
“Huh?”
