Starlight

Or better yet, Ada herself.
But thinking those kinds of thoughts when he was a nightmare was like a frog thinking of what kind of Porsche he’d like to own.
Impossible.
But not at this moment. At this moment, looking up at him expectantly with those big doe eyes that had always accepted him, she was his.
He planted a hand by her head so he could look down into her eyes and shoved his other hand between her legs.
Fuck, she was so wet he could feel it through her panties. Yet it still wasn’t enough. He stroked her satin-covered folds, then slid his hand inside her panties, groaning at the feel of her soft, silky, utterly wet skin.
He fingered her slit, pushing away the urge to come inside her that was suddenly so strong he couldn’t contain it.
He’d never felt anything like this. He was a surgeon with total control. He’d thought even if he made a move tonight, it would be cold, clinical, an exercise in figuring out pleasure and seeing if either of them could enjoy it.
But this was nothing as he’d thought.
He was losing himself the further he went in pleasuring her. His finger worked furiously at her clit as his very soul absorbed the soft moans she cried into the air.
It felt as if the very stars were watching, judging him, as he continued to play at her clit with his thumb but slipped two fingers inside her.
The heat and warmth were unlike anything he could have imagined. Too good for a nightmare like him, yet, if Ada was willing, he was going to have her.
He couldn’t hold back anymore. Who cared who uncovered his identity? Who cared if he lost his job? The only thing holding him back even slightly was the thought of what Ada would say if she saw his nightmare creature, but even that was pushed to the background due to overwhelming lust.
He withdrew his fingers, and she mewled in protest, but then he leaned forward, kissing her, as his fingers played harder at her clit.
He would make her come now. He had to. He had to taste it on her lips, swallow every sound of pleasure. It had to all be his, every part of her. He kissed her deeply, swiping his tongue aggressively inside, loving the little sounds she made against his mouth.
Her hands pushed at his shoulders, and he pulled back slightly, only for her to shake her head and pull him close.
“I wasn’t pushing you away. It’s just… strong.”
“Good,” he said harshly. He wanted to be gentler with her, but he didn’t know how. He had waited so long… and he hadn’t even been aware of it.
His hand pushed down on her clit, and she arched against him, jerking rhythmically with her release. He kept kissing her, trying to ignore the ecstasy singing through him that he could do this to her. That he could make her feel that way.
Was this how all humans felt when they copulated?
Because how Theo felt went far beyond physical sensations.
He was a part of the universe, a part of her, and when her cries dampened against his lips, he pulled back to look down at her. She was dazed and starry eyed with wonder, and Theo knew he had to do it all again.
Over and over. Forever.
He’d never be able to let her go.
Chapter 9
She’d come. She’d come all over his hand, screamed into his mouth. It’d been so hot, so raw, so unexpected as he explored her body, starting out in that tentative way of his.
But if she’d expected him to make love like he did surgery, with cool precision, she was wrong.
This was messy and unpredictable, Theo’s hands cupping her face as he kissed her again, squeezing her breasts as he pulled back to admire her.
Her breath caught at the pure hunger in his eyes. She lifted her hips in invitation, wanting more.
His hand shoved down between her legs again, pushing them apart, and for a second, he just studied her, making her flush deeply.
No one had ever taken the time to look at her like that. His eyes narrowed with pure desire, and then he surveyed her entire body as though it were the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.
She didn’t know if she could believe he had feelings for her, but she was absolutely sure he was sexually attracted.
If the huge bulge pressing against his pants were any indication, that was.
God, she wanted that thing inside her. She appreciated his attention to her breasts, her clit, but right now she just wanted all of that hot, hard heat seated inside her, filling her up.
Wanted to take him in possessively, knowing he couldn’t be anywhere but with her at that moment. Like him, she was hungry, unable to care what she should want.
He leaned down to kiss her breast again, and she dug her nails into his back as his fingers stroked her clit and then played at her entrance again. She pushed against him, moaning in desperation, loving the possessive way his hand cupped her breast as he sucked on it.
He placed biting kisses over her shoulder and breast and neck, marking her, and she didn’t really mind at all. She had shirts that would cover them.
She loved the way he’d growled, “Mine,” when she’d questioned it.
She loved seeing this new side of him. Loved pushing against him and feeling his strength as he pushed back.
Loved knowing if she really wanted him to stop at any moment, he would. Yet there was something so predatory, so powerful, about everything he did.
He owned her as one hand grabbed her side and squeezed possessively before moving down to her hips. It was as if he wanted to touch every part of her.
He kissed her again, and her hands flew to his pants impatiently. She grasped at the button, and he pushed her hands aside and undid it for her, giving her free access to reach inside. She did, touching the hard length of him, and had to close her eyes in pure pleasure in response.
When she opened her eyes, she saw him looking down at her as if studying her reaction. Then he got off of her and pulled his shirt off, popping the buttons in all directions and revealing a perfect chest that was better than she’d even imagined.
“You didn’t have to pop the buttons off,” she said, but before she could finish, he was on her again, kissing down over her breasts, her stomach, her hips, parting her legs as he got in between them.
And then he kissed her down there.
She screamed as she arched back, the sensation unlike anything she’d experienced. Other men she’d known had been selfish with pleasure, and with Theo’s coldness, she’d never expected him to be giving in bed.
But he was insistently giving, licking voraciously at her as his hands stroked and grasped at her thighs as if he could never get enough of the feel of softness.
She could sense her next orgasm coming quickly, rushing toward her in an unstoppable wave that seemed almost too overwhelming, so she fought it, tightening her hands and toes into the blanket.
But it was no use, and as he licked up her center and raised the most beautiful, icy blue eyes in the world to meet hers, she came, tearing apart from the ferocity of it.
Better than she’d ever imagined. She felt she was flying through space as her brain exploded with sparkles, as her entire body shattered into a million pieces of pure sensation.
Pleasure beyond what she’d dreamed. She wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him against her. She almost released him when he stiffened, but then he relaxed, propping himself up but letting her face nuzzle his.
He sat up again, looking down at her, and she knew she was a sweaty, ravished mess.
He appeared to love it.
In a motion that was almost too hot to process, he licked his lips thoroughly. “Tasty.”
Oh God, so dirty.
She tried to cover her face, but he grabbed her hands and pinned them at the sides of her head.
“Don’t cover your face. I want to see your expression when I take you.”
“Take me?” she choked out.
Then he reached down and somehow pulled off his underwear and tossed it aside. He reached for hers, raising an eyebrow.r />
“Oh fuck, yes,” she growled.
His grin was all pure male satisfaction as he tore her underwear away as if it were nothing, leaving them both bare.
It felt so right this way.
He kept her hands pinned, shoving them into the blanket as he positioned himself between her legs, using his thighs to push hers apart.
Then she felt his hot, wet tip at her entrance. She’d never wanted anything more in her life.
“Can I take you?” His eyes fixed on hers.
“Yes,” she gasped out, writhing against his hands in anticipation. She was helpless to move, to do anything, and she sort of loved it that way.
She felt him slowly begin pushing inside her, and it was like white light exploding all around. It was so strong it was on the verge of painful, and she took deep breaths, trying to relax.
“Oh God, oh fuck, Theo.”
His head jerked up. “Are you okay?” He stopped pushing into her.
Her body ached for more. “Don’t stop. No, it’s just… so strong.”
He raised an eyebrow. “In a good way?”
She nodded her head jerkily. “Keep going. Don’t stop.”
He smiled again, and she thought he was most handsome that way. Why didn’t he smile more often?
When he was fully inside her, her body slowly relaxed. Well, as much as it could with something so large, so hot, so perfect inside her. She bit her lip, knowing it wouldn’t take long to come.
“What now?” Theo asked, looking down at her. There was a pained look of concentration on his face, as if being inside her was as intense for him as it was for her.
What was he even asking? Why was he asking that?
Either way, her body didn’t care. If it got him moving, she was going to answer.
“Move inside me,” she rasped.
He did, slowly withdrawing and then seating himself inside.
It was slow, hot agony, and the second he wasn’t fully in her, her body ached for him.
“Dammit,” he said, pushing into her again. “It’s nothing like I imagined.”
“You imagined it?” She looked up at him with wide eyes.
“I… I suppose I did, though I wasn’t aware of it.”
Her hands gripped his strong, muscled shoulders. “How can you not be aware of it?”
“I just… keep a lot of things deep inside,” he said softly. He pulled out slowly and drove into her again, and she couldn’t take such slow, exquisite agony.
She was almost too full with him inside. “I… faster. I want you faster.”
His eyes lit like blue flames, and he nodded, increasing his pace. As he moved, she felt more caught up than she’d ever been in her life.
Sex had never been like this. She’d felt more strongly when he’d kissed her than she had from anything anyone else had done.
And what she was feeling now that he was stroking deep inside her, filling her up?
Heaven.
Ecstasy.
There was no way to describe it, so Ada just held on, her vision blurring. Her whole body was tensed, throbbing with anticipation, and just when she thought she couldn’t hold on any longer, Theo’s mouth slammed down over hers. As his tongue swept deep inside, she came, rocking against him, overwhelmed with shock.
Like nothing she’d ever felt before. Like her body was a star going nova.
And then Theo jerked against her, his body going rigid as he uttered her name in an urgent oath. “Ada, Ada, I can’t…”
Then he was coming inside her, hot spurts spurring her orgasm higher so she felt she couldn’t breathe, like she was going to pass out if the orgasm went on any longer.
They rocked together, bodies surging in ecstasy, and just when she couldn’t take it anymore, the intensity began to subside and she felt Theo cupping her cheek, stroking gently as he waited for her to come back to Earth.
She stared up at him, heart pounding harder than it ever had in her life. It wasn’t just the sex. It wasn’t just the orgasms. It wasn’t just the feelings she’d always had for him.
It was the connection, the way she felt utterly one with him, as if they were both part of the universe and inseparable and perfectly fit.
Like they could just stay that way forever.
He pulled out and gathered her in against him and gently pulled out a towel he’d brought to clean her up.
Oh God, she hadn’t used a condom. Why hadn’t she thought about it?
“Don’t worry,” Theo said. “I can’t get you pregnant.”
She sighed in relief, trusting him because Theo had always been honest with her.
She glanced up at him, wondering if he’d had a vasectomy or wasn’t fertile or… but he didn’t seem to be bothered by it, and she supposed it wasn’t her business to pry.
Besides, she didn’t want to ruin the moment.
She wasn’t stupid. She knew they weren’t going to end up together, even though they were attracted and had just succumbed to the hottest sex of her life.
Theo didn’t want her the way she wanted him, and she was still going to move away at the end of this.
After enjoying everything he wanted to give.
She rested a hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat. There was still so much she didn’t know about him, so much she wanted to find out. She had the feeling she would always want more from him, right up until she left his life and had to move on.
But for now, she’d had the most perfect sex of her life and wanted to savor it.
His hand found hers, keeping it trapped against his chest. “That was incredible, Ada.” His voice was quiet, almost reverent. He rolled on his side to look at her. “Can we stay a little longer?”
“Of course,” she said, curling in.
They lay together like that for hours, and Ada found herself watching the stars, memorizing the scent, the sound, the sights of everything around her, wishing she could bottle up and carry with her this perfect moment in time.
But then it began to get colder, and she knew if they fell asleep there, someone would find them in the morning, naked, and wake them up.
So she reluctantly nudged Nathan, and the two of them got dressed, exchanging shy smiles as they did so.
Even dressed, she felt utterly ravished, and as she rode on his bike back to her place, she enjoyed every minute of it.
And then it came time for him to drop her off at the door, and she opened her door and stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to say.
Had he only meant to seduce her, mission accomplished? Were they supposed to go back to work as though nothing happened?
Did he think he had somehow convinced her to stay with the best sex in the world?
She handed him back his jacket and bit her lip. “Theo, I’m still going.”
He nodded but didn’t look convinced. “Okay.”
“No,” she said shakily, trying to ignore her body’s reaction to him, even now. “I really am.”
“What’s your day off?” He leaned back against the railing, folding his arms casually.
She stuttered for a moment, trying to remember. “Tuesday.”
“Good,” he said. “Are you free?”
“I haven’t—”
“Then I claim it for myself,” he said confidently. “I’ll pick you up at ten.”
She gaped at him as he started down the stairs and back to his bike. “But… I…”
He looked up at her, blue eyes sparkling. “You’re mine, Ada. You just don’t know it yet.”
Then he got back on his bike and, with a loud rumble, disappeared into the darkness faster than she’d thought possible.
She squinted for a moment, then sighed, realizing he was really gone.
And what did he mean she was his? He didn’t own her.
She’d said yes to the date on her day off, but only because she’d always had a hard time saying no to him. Right up until she’d given him her notice.
She turned and went into her house, sighing heavily.
/>
In two weeks, she would say no to him, regardless of what he thought.
Chapter 10
On Ada’s day off, Theo arrived at her apartment bright and early so he could get the most out of their day together. He pulled up and revved the loud V-twin engine.
A second later, Ada’s face popped up behind her shuttered window, then vanished. When she emerged from the doorway, wearing a pair of jeans that hugged her enticing curves and a T-shirt and hoodie that seemed perfectly fitted to her, Theo couldn’t help watching her come down the steps, her hips swaying slightly. When she reached the bottom, he handed her a helmet from the storage container on the bike.
“You’re early,” Ada remarked as she squeezed the helmet on.
“And you’re already ready. So I’d say I’m right on time.”
She rolled her eyes and snapped the chin strap on, then stepped over the bike and sat behind him. They were both morning people, or at least working in the medical profession had forced them to be such.
Theo was practically always awake.
He’d brought his bigger, more comfortable bike today, and when Ada sat on it behind him, hips behind him and arms wrapped around his front, his body seemed to buzz with awareness of her proximity. And when he put the bike into gear, he opened up the engine and rolled hard on the throttle, flinging them forward and down the street.
Ada’s hands gripped the leather of his jacket, squeezing her soft chest into his back, relying wholly on his skill as he guided them down the streets and onto the highway, headed toward their destination.
He’d never get used to how good it felt to ride together with Ada. Out here, nothing but road and air and sun surrounding them, it felt they were the only two people in the world.
A half hour later, they were at Funland, an older local amusement park that resembled more of a permanent carnival that had taken residence up in the hills above the city than a proper theme park.
Above them, an aging Ferris wheel turned slowly, and to the right, several modern rollercoasters roared along fear-inducing tracks as people screamed in delight.
